I was referred to 2A for first time CCW training by a friend and I was super impressed. The didactic 8 hours was well organized and the preparation materials beforehand were great. Training day on the range was the biggest surprise. The instructors were not only knowledgeable, but each one clearly cared about each student. I witnessed them train a new shooter so well that she was able to pass her qualification test. Each student got individualized attention throughout the day. The First Rounds course was so helpful to narrow down which pistol is best for me. Ryan was an excellent instructor, he was patient and clearly explained ways to improve. They also offer CCW classes which are VERY informative. Doug, Ryan and their team take the responsibility seriously and want all students to fully understand, be proficient, and be safe. As a new shooter, I needed the attention of an expert to observe and help me correct my posture, technique, and mindset. I asked Doug for his advice, and he set me up with one of their instructors, Ryan. We met at the range, and went through the repetitions. I was genuinely impressed with how Ryan was able to observe and help me bring my attention to the right areas. I came out having already made improvements, and with a really good understanding of what to focus on going forward. I think Ryan is the kind of instructor anyone would enjoy working with. If I had to do it all over again, I'd choose 2nd Amendment Firearms Academy without hesitation. I recently completed their 18 hour CCW training course, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The classroom portion was extremely informative, well structured, and presented in a way that kept everything engaging while also emphasizing the seriousness of the responsibility that comes with carrying. The live-fire exercises were equally impressive safe, organized, and very hands on. The instructors did an incredible job walking us through drills that not only built confidence but also improved accuracy and decision-making under pressure. Safety was always the number one priority, but they still made the entire process enjoyable. The instructors themselves deserve special recognition: knowledgeable, approachable, and patient. They had a great way of breaking things down so everyone, from beginners to more experienced shooters, could walk away with new skills and confidence. This isn't just a box-checking course it's real training that prepares you for real life. I left the academy feeling more capable, more informed, and more responsible than when I walked in. I've just completed 2A's 16-hour CCW Training. It is conveniently hosted over the weekend, which not many academies offer, and the registration is smooth and easy (website inquiry, email, or call). Both the in-class and the on-range training were informative, engaging, and impactful. Doug, Ryan, and the team are very knowleageable, proficient, and willing to work with and train anyone regardless of their skill set. The entire experience was a pleasure, from registration through the certification. I found the classroom work informative and thorough, and the pace was just right for me. The real eye-opener for me was the range training. Doug and Ryan made it a comfortable and fun learning environment, nonjudgmental, and I never felt embarrassed when I had to be corrected on techniques (bad habits) that I have acquired over the last 40+ years of firearm use. I'll need lots of practice to break old habits - the grip correction that they taught me was worth the price of admission. No more "low and left" for me (after practice of course). If I had one critique of the class it would be that I was a little tired after all the range training so I would have liked to shoot qualifying after the marksmanship-type training but before the tactical training, if that makes sense. But in the end, I passed, learned a lot, and had a great time doing it. Thanks to Doug and Ryan (and the RO's) for the experience, and thanks for sharing knowledge. read more

I recently took a CCW course withe 2nd Amendment Firearms Academy where I was one of the few females in the class. All the instructors in the class were super helpful and knowledgeable. I felt safe, supported, and comfortable throughout the class. I could tell all the instructors had a passion for teaching and helping others succeed. One of the instructors even stayed a little bit after class to go over a drill with us until we felt confident in completing it. I scheduled a private session to improve my accuracy. From engagement to the range the experience was great. Doug did all the coordination and communication was smooth. I've been shooting for almost 20 years and after taking this class it showed me just how much I didn't know. They were able to fix a lot of my bad habits that I didn't even know I had. I can't say enough good things about their professionalism and knowledge. Most of all, they were unpretentious and super friendly. Just a really good group of guys to be around. A lot of them also come from a competition shooting background so when you talk about shooting fast and accurate these guys definitely know what they're doing. Doug, the two Ryans, Ollie, and the whole team seemed to genuinely love what they do and it really showed with their attention to detail and their all around friendliness. I would highly recommend them to anyone - from someone who never picked up a firearm all the way to the seasoned shooter. They will improve your shooting, period. They kept a very safe range without being mean about it. And most importantly, the class was a blast. I've never had so much fun shooting. They had accuracy drills, a moving target, a stage set up where you have to shoot on the move, and a really fun and dynamic drill that involved a timed sequence of drills from shooting off hand to reloading to shooting strong hand only. I took a couple classes from 2nd Amendment Firearms Academy. All the classes I took are awesome, CCW, Level 2 Training in Yolo and Dynamic Drills shooting training. Ryan and Doug very good instructors they're very knowledgeable and experience. Their also couple professional assistance and stands by helping students corrections shooting and safety.
