I have my online purchase sent here, It was delivered around 1030am and as indicated on 29's website, April contacted me the same day (usually same day or within 24 hours) in the afternoon and told me the firearm had been processed and ready for paperwork. I came in the next day and was greeted by Joel, a very friendly and knowledgeable guy. He did my paperwork and also helped me pick another firearm for my wife. The whole process went smoothly, he even recommended some add-ons for my new purchase. Limited selections of both pistols and rifles but decent enough. My experience at 29Outdoor Gear was not only disappointing but also raised serious questions about their integrity and professionalism, leading me to PERMANENTLY take my business elsewhere. During my visit to sign paperwork for firearms Employee A (withholding name due to fear of retaliation from their managers) explicitly told me I would be charged $85each for two firearms ($170), with the third being a complimentary discount. However, when I returned after 10 days to pick up my firearms, a different staff member, either Tommy or Michael (no name tag), who stands on the left side of the counter, short Caucasian man, always wearing a black hat. Despite clear verbal assurances from Employee A regarding a multiple firearm purchase discount, Tommy reviewed my paperwork and claimed I owed a transfer fee for the third firearm. I confirmed with him that Employee A had stated the third firearm would be free, yet they blatantly failed to honor that promise. This inconsistency and disregard for their own verbal commitments is extremely unprofessional. It suggests a lack of honesty and integrity, and makes me question whether they can be trusted to provide transparent and fair service. I've since found a much more respectful, transparent shop in another city, where they charge $75 for the first firearm and only $25 for each additional, far more reasonable and trustworthy than what 29Outdoor Gear offers. Based on this experience, I strongly recommend others think twice before trusting this business. Their credibility issues and unprofessional conduct have lost my confidence forever, and I advise shopping elsewhere for a more honest and respectful firearms dealer. P.S. I'm new to firearms, taking a few courses and decided to make an impromptu visit to 29 Outdoor Gear. It's a lil intimidating being new to firearms, not completely familiar with all the lingo and terms yet, and being a woman in a predominate male field of interest (although growing!) but after a few minutes of conversation with Jerry (the owner) I was put at ease and very pleasantly surprised. I was also happy to hear that Jerry's outfit offers a variety of firearm classes, including women focused classes. I'll be coming back to purchase my Sig Sauer Rose from him, and invite a couple of my gf's to attend one of his classes. I need more knives. Do you have any bigger knives? I'd like a bigger knife, a big, long, sharp knife, that's what I'm in the market for. I like them really sharp. Do you have one with hooks and gouges like blades and kind of serrated? That's the kind of knife I'm looking for. I need one I can throw. I need another one I can just hack away with. Do you have anything like that?" -Jerry Seinfeld Substitute "gun" for "knife" in the bit above and you have a gun shop... a lot of them range from a bit jaded, to suspicious, to down-right rude. In no other industry would that be tolerated - Refreshingly 20 minutes away at 29 Outdoor Gear you won't have that experience. All the staff I've run into (in the 6 recent visits I've made) were cordial, informative, patient, just had good customer service. I felt like they actually VALUED my business, which is rare in Bay Area gun shops. I've gladly traveled 1-2 hours just to avoid the several spots near me. PPT - Private Party Transfer? CHECK, this transaction involves a lot of effort/paperwork for little financial return to the shop. Many spots intentionally make it difficult for customers, not these folks. Online Firearm purchase? CHECK, they have a pretty decent array of modern pistols, rifles and shotguns and quite a few consignments which makes browsing on occasion fun, but if you are looking to buy something they don't have, they will handle an online/shipped firearm transfer for a modest fee. Online Ammo purchase? CHECK, while they have a modest selection, they will receive an online purchase you make and transfer to you (small fee per delivery). Even then, it can be tough to find online retailers who will even ship to CA (grunt!). Gunsmithing? CHECK, they are currently working on a 1911 conversion build for me... a project many of the big name online shops wouldn't bother with. I was so happy they took on the project, very anxious to get this back and get to the range! 29 Outdoor Gear does all of this while treating you with reciprocal respect, "do on to others..." SO... yes when you do a PPT, buy some ammo, an extra mag, a sling or a Holosun - yeah it might be a bit more than the gunshow, but ya gotta support shops like this and value them. Now if they would buy the barber shop next to them and add on an indoor range, I'd be in even more! read more

Located in a decent sized strip mall off of the busy Broadway street is a hidden gem you might accidentally pass up. A relatively small show room containing everything you need from ammo, parts, to firearms that most standard places don't carry. They also have a pretty solid gunsmith that the local sheriffs trust to have their firearms upgraded, that has to say something. I came here for some small AR parts before and ammo on other occasions. Might I add they have excellent prices on ammo from target to high quality rounds available. The guns/rifles have a slight markup but they're available on hand so it's worth skipping the wait and holding your breath for getting something shipped in. But if you're getting something transferred through FFL, their fee is the lowest I've seen. I'd say that this place stands out from any dealer than I've been to simply by the customer service, knowledgeability and patience that the staff has here. You can take your permit tests as I've seen a few people taking advantage of. I noticed how well they treated the super green customers that were in the market for their first gun. These people really enjoy their job and won't rush or force anything on you. I strongly suggest everybody exercise their 2A rights and if you're gonna do it, this would be a solid place to be introduced and taken care of with your journey. Best gun store in the Bay Area All the employees here are amazing. I did a PPT here with Evan and he immediately helped me out. When I came back 10 days later, the store was a bit fuller but a lady at one of the stations still greeted me with a smile and told me to hang tight. Another man helped me with the pick up. I didn't get his name but he was very friendly as well. Everyone there seemed to enjoy working there and shared a passion for cool guns. DO NOT DO A Private Party transfer here. The owner Jerry Kunzman is unprofessional, he contradicts himself and his explanations are convoluted. Jerry isn't transparent with the parties and even with his own employees. I was told one thing in store then Jerry literally changed his store policy upon writing and email to me without even informing his employees before hand. After a non sense PPT debacle at a near big box outdoor store, I suggested to the buyer to try out 29 Outdoor just a few miles away. I often see 29 Outdoor in high regard among USPSA / action sport shooters, so I have good expectations coming in for a private party transfer. In we went to the store and in only about 10 minutes, we were done with the transfer. No fuss transaction with straight shooter employees, what else can you ask for? And I would also like to add as I look around the small, quaint store, is that they have some inventory. At the time of our PPT and pickup, they have: Holosun 510c, Trijicon SRO which is a unicorn at your local gun store. And they also have couple of pistols which is also rare during this covid-era.
