The Ramps are smooth, skateboarders go there like crazy, it's right next to the trail, next to the parking lot for city hall. No lights, so when it gets dark it's over. Last year when I took them it seemed more geared towards the tots. This year it seems like their siblings, if they are older, can join, the rink was packed with people. Good for skate time, I'm glad the new owners are doing well. I would personally prefer less people for my grandson to enjoy it more, but that's just the grandma in me talking I guess. Reasonably priced, the adults go in free & pay for skates if they so choose. Planning an adult night with friends.

And you WILL actually see animals, including a black bear, porcupine and bobcat! + There are vending machines randomly located throughout the park. Yes, they are pricey, but, if you're desperate you'll fork up the $$$ for a beverage or snack. + There are public restrooms every once in awhile by Hessian Lake. + There are multiple parking lots at the park that charge $10. + There is a massive field, perfect for a game of frisbee or any sport requiring a lot of space, between the Carousel and the Bear Mountain Inn. Since this is my first skate park it feels on the smaller side but heck it's a solid park. Ramps are all cement, no wood to have decay.

A bathroom also provided as a plus. The trail was our main focus. It all starts in the lower lot toward Fishkill Creek. Going to the left, you'll find a sign indicating keeping your dog on a leash, making it the starting point. You'll see signs on the tree marking the color of the trail you're on. A very nice walk to follow along the creek, making it the highlight. It's mainly a flat trail with a very little up and down hills, but nothing too complicating. The ending is a bit strange, coming out to a football field. This is a great place to have get-togethers, along with having many physical activities to make it even more entertaining.

The quarter pipes are little too far apart to get a half-pipe rhythm going but they're fine as quarter pipes. It's a DIY vibe. To whoever got it built - thanks. The pavement is that coarse pebbly stuff the parks department uses all over NY, so you can't do flat ground stuff. Most likely this was here before the skaters. It is what it is. There isn't a lot to skate around here, so I'll probably go back eventually.

Was empty when I got there but then tons of kids showed up, seemed chill. Good is huge houses on one side, big houses on the other smaller more beat up houses on the other and the back of a police station on the closest side, if you want to build the skate park behind a hospital or a fire station that's a great place to do it but behind a police station you are just calling skateboarders criminals that need to be watched over by big brother and it's super offensive. Get it together people!!! skateboarding is not a crime, there was a big ad campaign about it in the 80s. there is parking 2hr limit until 7pm closes at dusk.

As of today the bowl is still under construction. Yes, there are scooter kids and a lot of bikes at times but you have to share the space. Definitely one of the better skate parks in the city.
