Great place to repurpose unneeded spots equipment. Not a place to unload broken crap. Much of what they take in is on consignment do if its not in good shape it should't get sold. They also take donations - our preferred route for our daughter's college softball equipment all of which was in A shape. We believe in reuse, and hopefully were able to provide someone else some expensive gear at a reasonable price. But do shop carefully. read more

We use The Sports Attic to get replacement cleats and soccer shinguards for my son all the time. They also have baseball gear, hockey gear, and all kinds of gently used gear; some not so gently used too, but that's OK. It's cheap and you know what you're getting. They're friendly and helpful. Sports attic is an awful place to buy equipment especially skis! They sell out of date crappy used skis boots poles and bindings that should not even be used anymore. read more

I purchased a pair of used skis from Sports Attic and was very dissatisfied. When I asked about the skis, I was told that they were about 5 or 6 years old. We had also talked about getting them serviced and adjusted and I was advised that this could be done in a ski shop. When I brought my skis into Pedigree Ski Shop in White Plains, I was told that the skis are about 12 years old and that they will not be able to service the bindings. At Pedigree I learned that there is a list published each year (http://bit.ly/gPtRRYl) of "Indemnified" ski bindings. Basically, if bindings are not on this list, no reputable ski shop will adjust them (more info about indemnified ski bindings here: http://bit.ly/dSRd6C). At no time before my purchase was this list mentioned nor was it suggested that the skis may not be safe or serviceable. Without getting them professionally adjusted, I was not comfortable using them. I called Sports Attic asking to return them. After trying to convince me that the ski shop was just trying to sell me new bindings and after explaining that he did not guarantee that I could have them adjusted, I was reluctantly told that I could return them. When I brought them into the store, I was again given a hard time but they were ultimately accepted back. At no point was I offered an apology for the inconvenience. I am displeased that I purchased these skis with no mention of the possibility that they may not be serviceable and further upset about the way I was treated when trying to return them. Helpful, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. Especially useful for kids who grow out of skates and stuff so fast.

This is the only place I found where I could come, try and choose a pair of ice skates. I wasted ton of time with those major and minor retailers and got sick and tired of that 'on line only'. That include specialized sporting goods retailers like Modells and Dick's. How they can sell like this stuff that need to be checked for perfect fit? I decided to take a chance and drive 55 miles there and I'm glad I did. I got exactly what I want even better than I expected plus at steal price and excellent friendly service. The guy also sharpened my skates for no extra charge. My used skates now look and feel like new and must be quite expensive originally. I wish this place to be a bit closer to the city. read more

I buy my kids used sporting equipment here. Cleats, ice skates, lacrosse stuff. I dont mind that the cleats are used since they only wear them for a season. If you dont like used things do not buy here. read more
