I had my hair cut by Gabby. I have no other information on her because the manager refused to provide it upon request. I told Gabby not to cut my hair too short. I wanted a layer pixie style but I have a severe cow lick in the back of my hair and the length should be able to cover it. She asked if I wanted my bangs cut and I said no. Pictures are worth 1000 words. I'll show a picture of what I wanted and the remaining are my hair after I got home and washed all the goop out of my hair. I spoke with the manager giving her a chance to make things right. She was rude and told me I got the cut I asked for and offered me a free cut to not write any more reviews. Not a refund or an apology. I declined the free cut as who would want another one when I finally have hair to cut? Did I get the cut I asked for? A friend recommended this salon. She got a very nice haircut. I called to make appointment and they insisted I give them my credit card number which would be charged in full if I cancelled or missed the appointment in 72 hours. When I arrived I had to wait 20 minutes. Then the stylist filled out a questionnaire on her ipad which took another 15 minutes. She applied color and sent me over to be washed by another person while she cut someone else's hair. I was then told to move to another chair and wait. In the meantime the woman next to me was offered water. I was not offered anything. I walked into the reception area to grab a magazine while I continued to wait. Finally after the mess from the other haircut was swept up the stylist cut my hair. It looked ok. I was shocked that the price was $198 before tip! I think if this salon is going to charge high end prices for a haircut (trim) my hair is already short and foils they need to improve their customer attentiveness skills. read more

I've been going to the salon for a few years now. I started out working with Sarah who is an excellent hairdresser. Due to scheduling issues I switched hairdressers and have been going to Patty on a regular basis. The entire staff is professional and friendly. Chrissy, who manages to keep things running smoothly upfront, and always with a smile on her face is a delight! Patty is one of the best colorist I've ever had do my hair, she just did an impressive switch from golden highlights to an auburn color for the fall that I absolutely love! The owner Holly , who I've never met, but feel her presence in the salon from the lovely remodel to the thoughtful little touches - obviously cares a lot about her business and puts great effort into it. She really has listened carefully to my concerns and preferences. Color and foils have depth and have been just perfect for my coloring! I often get compliments on the style and color of my hair! I dunno much about hair places I chose the bald life years ago, and I never went back. Not that I don't have hair, I just chose not to fuss with it anymore. But this isn't about me and my super sexy bald head. My fiance chose to go here cause her hair was looking a little rough. The woman that helped her was super awesome, knew what she was talking about, and gave her some good advice to help keep her hair healthy. My stylist was really nice & did a good job. The price for me leaving with wet hair was too much for my blood. Plus I drove over 40 minutes there & back cause I had a coupon that they did not honor. No expiration date & I've been holding onto it for over a year... I felt really un- taken care of... like if I were someone they respected more( like my mum) they would have honored the coupon. If there were more stars, I give them! From the covid precautions to the cleanliness of the salon to the warmth of the staff, this is a place that you need to go to. Have needed a pedicure, but have been putting it off for a while. Called this morning and got in barely 2 hours later. Sarah explained that they didn't do many pedicures, but she was one of the best that I have ever been to. Very gentle and understanding. Full on spa pedi with wax and the price was unbelievable!!! I just had my wedding in Shelton this weekend, and I can't recommend 2nd Street highly enough! Taylor (salon's wedding coordinator) was so professional and easy to work with. Taylor did my mom's makeup, and I have never seen her look so beautiful. Carrie did my makeup and I couldn't have been happier with how it turned out. Perfect coloring and attention to my very specific details. I didn't get my hair done but the bridesmaids' hairdo's were lovely. Taylor also did my spray tan a couple days before and it looked so great! The salon is spacious, well-lit, and beautiful. All the gals who work here are so nice and do a great job. Stylist do a great job. Problem occurred when I tried to move my appointment. They told me I would have to pay for half the services scheduled because it wasn't 72hr notice. It is absolutely ridiculous to think that people don't have last minute situations or emergencies that derail the best laid plans. I had my haircut done in this salon a month ago. I had the stylist cut my bangs to just below my eyebrows after she said I could come back for just a bang trim when I needed it. I decided today, while in Shelton, to do just that. I did a walk-in appointment and someone was able to cut my bangs within 20 minutes. Nice. The stylist didn't really listen very well to what I wanted, which was full bangs right to the middle of my eyebrows. I ended up with fringed bangs, very noticeably above my eyebrows. I let that go cause the stylist was so sweet and my hair grows fast, no big deal. The reason I am doing a review at all and only making it one star is because the manager/owner charged me 18.00 for the less than five minute bang trim!!! She explained that free trims were for clients that were in between appointments and since I didn't have a future appointment set up she'd have to charge me. okay, I get that .... but 18.00???? I have had two experiences here, my first, I came in for a haircut and to get my hair bleached. The stylist that was working on me apparently had to go, so another stylist took over and finished toning my hair and I was pretty ecstatic with the outcome! My hair was almost white and super dreamy. The cut was okay, but hair grows back and nothing I'd fuss over. The second time, I made an appointment for just my roots to be touched up. I called ahead and made an appointment--for the stylist who had helped my last and put the toner in my hair, but was very disappointed to arrive and find I had the stylist who bailed on me in my first experience and left my entire head bright yellow. Well guess what happened? She gave me yellow roots. AGAIN! She said she would set up another appointment for me to have my roots toned in 2 weeks. Why? Why do I have to make two appointments and pay for two separate interactions when the first time I had everything done in one sitting? I was pretty embarrassed because I was going to my boyfriend's family reunion and felt like I was going to look like a joke. I didn't say anything and instead went to my car and cried it out. The salon called me to confirm my appointment and I explained that I was going to have to cancel because I felt ripped off and explained why. The receptionist told me she would have the owner call me. I waited 2 days and called the salon back to ask if I was forgotten about? The receptionist said she'd give me a call back in a few hours with some sort of resolution. I receive a voicemail later saying I could come in that Friday and get it fixed, however, that did not work for me--as I was not going to be in WA. The receptionist said that the owner would give me a call back. ....Ok... So I wait another 7 days, I call and ask for a refund because I indeed went to a family reunion with yellow roots and white hair and was a complete embarrassment to myself and I'm told the owner is moving and she will call me back to resolve this. Well, it's not resolved This started in June and it's now September. I will never go back to this place because they ripped me off. As a stay at home mom with little to no breaks from my child, I was expecting to come here to relax and pamper myself.. I wasn't expecting to be basically potentially double charged just to get my roots touched up. I know for a fact that if I had just had the right stylist scheduled, this wouldn't have even been an issue because employee 1 was not that great the first time, and employee 2 was the bees knees.. But now it's an issue and since it's not resolved I'll never recommend this place to anyone. I just wanted a refund. My boyfriend works so hard for our family and for what his intentions were for me to experience and what was spent out of his pocket.... there was just zero value to it. i went in for a caramel balayage & with the exception of a couple of light pieces in my hair, & i do mean just a couple, my hair looks exactly the same. you can't even see the light pieces because its on the bottom layers the rest of my hair covers it up. paid so much money just for damage & to look the same. i get so disappointed everytime i look at my hair. read more

I came for a walk-in appointment on an unexpected day off because I felt like doing something different with my hair, but I only had a very nebulous idea what. I was set up with Brenna, and she was wonderful. She helped guide me through the process of choosing a color within my basic chosen range that would complement my skin tone and eyes. The color is beautiful; I get complements on it everywhere I go. The cut is perfect and returned some bounce to my curl. She also tinted and waxed my eyebrows. I have very curly and dry hair, and I have had many stylists try and fail to work with it. This is the only one I have ever walked out of the salon feeling absolutely fabulous. I made an appointment to come in while on vacation to have my hair cut and colored. Alison did an amazing job, she listened to what I wanted and gave me the hair I was looking for. It's been two weeks now and I still love it and am having so much fun styling it lots of different ways. I would go back but I live in California so probably won't but if she was local I would be getting my hair done by her as often as I could. The price was very reasonable too. The salon is pretty and very well staffed. They offer coffee and tea and the bathrooms are clean. They are doing it all right here and I hope their business thrives!
