Walked by this store on a weekend afternoon and was curious to since I'd never been inside before. Walking in, on the left there is a wall display of some designer bags, followed by the register/checkout counter. Straight ahead are a few racks, some glass cabinet displays of more wallets, accessories and small bags. Heading toward the back, the store opens up to a larger area in the back. There is a central display table with a few mannequins, then a full wall glass display of handbags on the right. In the central back area are about 5-6 aisles of merchandise, shoes, accessories. Some of the items were in good condition, others showed very obvious signs of wear. I saw a women's cashmere sweater for $19.99, other clothes ranging up to $200. Handbags from $40 to $500+. The racks were very full. Plan to do a lot of digging thru racks to shop here. For a second hand/thrift store I will say this sits in the middle of the road overall, not quite Salvation Army or Buffalo Exchange, maybe a step above these, though also products not as good condition as INA or some of the smaller thrift boutiques. Don't bother. The first time I brought loads of clothing including coats for the winter and got $33. They took the suitcase I brought them in. The second time they wouldn't take anything and made me take the suitcase back. The good thing is that they will donate the clothes so you don't have to take them back but unless they are designer label you might as well give them away or throw them away. Also, the second time I brought them in aft 5 pm and they wouldn't let me come back the next morning - said I had to come back at 7:30 pm. However they did call to tell me they weren't taking anything. Perfectly good clothes - some of them new. The weird thing is the stuff in the window was ugly. Come here usually once every few months to see what they may or may not have. The selection here is ok, prices are alright too. Service is good. I feel things were scattered around, and saw some trash on the floors though. Some things can be overpriced when it comes to the selction of clothes, so keep that in mind. read more

The absolute worst place to bring clothes. $1,200 Calvin Klein silk suit in perfect condition and they told me they couldn't sell it. Meanwhile walk around the store and see the extensive crap on their racks ... Sell your stuff anywhere else. read more

Let me be clear this is a 0 star review. I dropped off my clothes Thursday morning (a MASSIVE bag) of very good quality clothes, Levi jeans, jackets with tag on.. etc. they took my information and said verbatim "we will call you when they are ready to be picked up, sign here" and put a receipt in front of me with my name and phone number, so I signed. The day goes by.. I don't hear anything. I got no phone calls from them. Call again next day and they said they have a policy of same day pick up so if I didn't pick up the clothes that same day they were donated. Has anyone had this experience?? Hundreds of dollars worth of clothes that I would have taken elsewhere and they never reached out to me prior to donating. I don't know how they get away with this???? read more

I had a really strange experience here a week ago. I was very excited walking by that this store existed. Upon entry, I was a little turned off that they take your purse off of you and demand that you essentially valet your bag. OK, I did that. As I was shopping, I really appreciated how organized everything was. Things are coordinated by Designer AND color. AMAZING! I found 2 great tops that I wanted to try on.... that is where things got very weird. When I actually needed to try the shirts on, no one was over by the locked clothing rooms. I proceeded to ask a lady at the cash register. In the middle of our exchange, a man came out, who must be the key holder for these fitting rooms. His energy was "I DONT GIVE A F*CK". He took me from the register where I was standing, and walked me to a specific fitting room, that he wanted me to stand in front of. He physically positioned me there, as if I was a 4 year old child. I REALLY did not like that. I waited for several minutes, before asking him, why I can't use the other of the two fitting rooms. In the middle of him singing, he looked under the other door, realizes no one is in it, and lets me in.It was his lack of concern for my time, that got me irritated. As I went in the fitting room, I could hear him talking about me! I came out and confronted him and he gaslighted me. It REALLY left a bad taste in my mouth. He took my shirts, counted them, and just made the experience truly so miserable, that I don't think I could ever shop at this store again. read more

They offer pennies, literally about 50 cents, for moderately expensive clothes in good condition and then sell clothes for near retail prices. Give your unneeded clothes to charity and buy elsewhere. read more

They basically make it impossible to donate/sell the clothes. Their selection is decent but everything else is awful.

Recently opened in July 2022, this 2nd hand boutique offers a variety of womenswear, menswear and accessories. This consignment shop has high end as well. Some areas were so jammed packed that it was very difficult to look through. They only have two dressing rooms so you have to wait in line. The staff are friendly. I found a few pieces for $9 each but that is on the lowest price point. read more

Offering someone $.10 per item is a complete insult when there are items literally falling apart on the racks of the store. Not to mention the staff is rude and condescending. Went there attempting to sell some clothing. Only once did they take the goods but the money they offered was very very low. Second time they told me they had taken in too much that day and wouldn't accept anymore. This was at 2pm and they clearly indicate they accept merchandise until 7pm. And I had two heavy bags which I had to carry back home. Third and fourth time they took the merchandise then called me back to say that they couldn't sell the goods and I should come pick them up. Not worth the trouble as you have no guarantee. Would rather donate to a thrift shop and get a tax deduction. read more

I've read bad reviews about this location and I'm not sure why. I've recently gone twice to sell my clothes and had a great experience both times. The staff is extremely polite and pleasant to work with. They couldn't accept my Chanel sunglasses but gave me so many great suggestions and recommendations on where to sell them. It only took 1-2 hours each time. The appraisal prices are based on Designer, Condition, and Style. Take a look around the store and learn their aesthetic. Bring your items that match the stores aesthetic and style and you'll get decent money for it. The first time they rejected a few pieces, I asked questions and learned what they look for. The second time they not only accepted all my pieces but I made more per piece, because I brought things I knew they could sell for a high price. I almost let the previous review discourage me from going, but I'm glad I did go because my experience was quite the opposite of what I read! The upper east side location is wonderful. read more

2nd Steet is just okay for purchases and not worthwhile for selling. I've visited 2nd Street a few times and purchased one handbag. The selection of goods is a bit disappointing for the Upper East Side as most of the brands are unremarkable and many of the items are in rough shape. My one purchase has been a Frye crossbody satchel that was priced about $70, which is decent compared to what the same item goes for on EBay. I have visited twice to sell handbags. The first time was a lot of 3 leather designer bags that were in excellent condition, including a suede Coach bag. I was offered $12, which included $8 for the Coach bag and $4 for each of the other two bags. I left and later came back with two of the bags (I sold the Coach bag on EBay for $40 plus shipping) and was offered $12 which I took because I just wanted to get rid of the bags). I visited again with two Cynthia Rowley bags, expecting the same pitiful offering only to find that they decided to stop taking items TWO AND A HALF HOURS EARLY because they had reached capacity. They told me that I could try back another time, but I am not about to expend the time or energy to lug these bags back there a second time just to get what breaks out to less than $1 per block it takes me to get there. I will just donate the bags to Housing Works or some other place that isn't so fickle. read more

This is really a "0" star review. I've been here a few times but this was my 3rd time selling. This go around I had 3 pairs of shoes and 3 shirts. They passed on 2 pairs of shoes because of the "condition" (they have worse pairs for sale there). For the rest of my items they offered my $5.22 lol. I literally just gave them to a homeless person. It's a slap in the face if you ask me. Just go to Buffalo Exchange or Crossroads. Avoid this place by any means!!! I have the receipt to prove it. read more

As a shopper, I have only positive opinions about this location. The prices of clothing is extremely affordable. It's no wonder that their items don't sit on the floor for long. This place is terrible. They have posted selling hours, yet every time I go there, we'll before the end of those hours, they always say they stopped buying for the day. After the first time, I decided to call and find out the hours for the following day. I was told 11am-3pm. So, I get there around 1:30pm, and once again they had already cut off buying. They said I should call before I'm leaving to check the hours. What' s the point of the false advertising on their door that says they buy until 7pm, or the lies they tell you when you do call. I had terrible experience with this store. First of all I had to come to the store 3 times to make it in the window, when they ARE buying clothes. Apparently at some point during the day they stop, which you can find out being in the line for 30 mins. Some staff clearly don't know what brands they are buying, and how to evaluate things: one person said to me they buy Gucci shoes, another one said they don't. Save yourself a trouble, and ask on a phone what brand are worth of bringing. There is definitely a ton of internal miscommunication, and irritation in the air among their team. Not cool, especially with terrible service. I got a vibe that these Gen Z new hires have zero training of working with real people, nor do they express any care. I brought half new clothes, according to the season, which I can't fit in, and also brand new Gucci purse ( retail price 1700$). NONE of my clothes hasn't even been checked, they gave an excuse that summer dresses don't do much for them. All attention of buyer was focused around Gucci purse, which she would 1 - absolutely carelessly handle around the floor, 2 - she had no idea about the product or collection, nor did she bothered to google. After hours wasted on authentication check, she offered me to buy it for 360$. Thank you, hard pass . All experience took 3 h of wait, and good amount of attitude from the buyer as a bonus ( it was a lady, person of color, sadly no name tag). She was clearly upset working at such place, and doing her best to provoke me to say something to her to through some race involved argument at me. Gladly, I'm not reactive. If you walk in with a bag or backpack, which is most people, the security guard will immediately chase you and force you to leave your bag in a compartment that is unprotected near the entrance. The customer who walked in ahead of me decided to turn around and walk out. Everybody should do that. The store is so concerned about losing money due to an occasional theft that they implemented a policy that is not used by most other stores. Everybody is treated like a potential criminal. A friend told me about this store so I browsed inside and their selection is large and impressive. I was shocked by some of the very high prices for second hand merch albeit designer but keep reading. I asked about the selling process and decided to give it a try with a small sampling of sweaters which are now too big on me. 5 sweaters, 4 of them they were interested in purchasing, one of them a high end beautiful well known golf brand never worn with the tags. I recall paying over $100 for that one at Bloomingdale's. They called me and I came back and they put an offer in front of me. $2.20 for all 4. I said I'd rather give them to charity. I didn't see a single sweater on their racks for under $25. It made me wonder how little their paying for all of the designer bags and accessories which were tagged $800 or higher. Im wondering if it's stolen merch. The whole experience also made me wonder who owns this business (Japan based) and what their business plan is. It's on their website but I'm not believing it. They are totally profiting and not giving back to anything, at least not in the USA except for jobs. Something just doesn't seem right and I think I'm seeing through their smoke and mirrors!!! It's a disrespecting and discrimination store. A white short guy just approached me while I was in the middle of a conversation with other 2 workers, and blasted on my face all the words nonstop for 5 minutes crazily. I finally got a chance to speak and unfortunately he doesn't like being challenged and called the security to ask me out and my bags of clothing. The story is I called about 5 pm to check the time the shop closes and the time the shop stops buying items today. I was told until 7 pm is the store buying items, but preferred 6:30 for large items. I followed the instruction carefully and I arrived at 6:10 after an hour's driving. I saw the store front states that selling end at 7 pm which is consistent with what the phone guy told me. However, a lady in the store said their selling time is 6 pm. I said i called earlier. Then she went away. In a few minutes, she came back with another guy and started giving a number and checking my partner's ID. We told her we have more items and she is acknowledged that. My parter brought in other 2 bags and we were about to leave the store. Before leaving, I just wanted to make sure that the lady is aware of our 3 bags are all here. However, the white guy approached and started blasted on my face nonstop crazily for a long few minutes and refused to take my items. That's what happened at the beginning. read more

I went with my mom for selling the clothes, but it tolls me 5 hours to straight just to gain no money back.

Lots of cheaper non-vintage items here such as Target, Urban Outfitters, Shein, etc. for $5-30. Then, a lot of new designer stuff which is pretty pricey. There are a few moderately priced true vintage gems hidden amongst everything else, and a ton of accessories. I think it's good to resell new used clothes instead of just throwing them out, but it's just not what I hope to see in a secondhand shop. A slight tier above Goodwill or Salvation Army. read more

I originally went there with my daughter to try and sell some old clothes. Great selection for a decent price, but when I tried to sell I didn't get much back. My Le SportSac was priced at less than $10 (originally $80ish) It's also hard to see all the clothes on the rack when there are so many clothes. Overall friendly staff and good selection. read more

This place is good, you'll find some decent items and you just have to keep your eyes open to make sure everything is authentic I have seen some really questionable items come through. The thing that gets me is the number of rough arguments that I have seen the staff get into, with customers, just yelling and screaming. They are thieves. Where do I begin?! At first things went well but I knew I would get low balled. 4th time selling there w my info on file I brought some of my best stuff, few pieces had to be authenticated. They took down my wrong information even though I'm on their system. The staff is a bunch of hostile arrogant teenagers practically and the music is so loud it is awful. But after stopping by several times to see if they were ready to give me a quote (5 hours after I dropped stuff off) and still nothing. Finally I came back 20 minutes before closing just to wait bc I was sick of waiting they were putting my stuff in one locked case and told me they had the wrong number when they tried. When I asked to be reqd back what number they had I was told a totally different 3 digit area code which would have been impossible to have misheard incorrectly that way. They tell you if you don't pick up your stuff it goes to charity or they donate it for you. I when I look at my $30 quote I realize that one of the things going in the case wasn't even on my list which was strange and then I realize they've only offered me eight dollars for a brand new large leather Marc Jacob's bag. This was insulting. I see the markup. Please don't support and contribute to the store. They're taking advantage of people that are desperately needing to sell things and really miss representing what they're doing with the stuff that's left over. They had cute accessories-- a wide selection of shoes and purses. The store was also organized by designer which was nice, and had a pair of fitting rooms. However, almost everything I saw was either a size small or medium, so it was a bit hard to shop as a mid size or plus size lady. read more

So- was super excited at the size and selection when I first went to this place! Upon further inspection, it is clear that the prices are absolutely ridiculous for the quality and condition of the items (i.e. H&M, Target, Shein items all priced at or above what you could buy new). Additionally, I don't think it's the sales assistant's fault btw, but I was offered $1 for designer boots that were in like-new condition and in-season. It unfortunately was a big waste of time to lug my stuff here... I would much rather donate my unwanted clothing to people in need than have them give me a buck for something and then resell it for $100 (being hyperbolic to make my point but I wouldn't be surprised if they actually have done that) read more
