They have some Quebec staples like poutine and foie gras, and a selection of 10" pizzas available. We came here for lunch and each had a French onion soup. I had a Shack's Poutine by myself, while my mom and dad shared a beef cheek pizza. The French onion soup was a bit salty. I find it intriguing that multiple establishments in Quebec City kept mentioning their onion soups as the "best in town", including this one. This one was good, but I'd give Chez Boulay the crown from all the places I tried. The poutine, on the other hand, was excellent. Will never say no to plentiful cheese curds, and I don't mind foie gras at all. My parents enjoyed the beef cheek pizza, particularly highlighting the BBQ sauce and the smoked beef cheeks. Service was excellent. We arrived around 11:30am and there was one other table taken, but by the time we left around 1pm there was a lineup. Personally I would come back here.

The eatery and bar are tucked into a stone house that dates back to 1668, if only the walls could talk. The bar and restaurant feature local Quebec cuisine and is a gem. So, we decompressed for a while over pints of local beer and some fantastic venison sausage and pie, and, a couple hours later, crunched our way through the snow to our hibernating, rear-wheel-drive symbol of jingoism and imperial hubris. A week later we were back in L.A., where the only snow was relegated to the peaks on the horizon and the sand on the beach would burn your feet. I am not talking 5 people, imagine more like 15-20 people all playing together! Just sitting around causally, drinking beers, enjoying each other's company and playing some of the most impromptu Irish music you will ever hear! I can't recommend this place enough. I have never seen anything like this. Will definitely turn up if I'm ever in the area!
