I wouldn't use this company if it was the last one left in Spokane. Like others, our experience has been one of poor work ethic, poor communication, overpricing, and fraudulent business practices. My mom used 3 weeds for a fall cleanup and Angela (owner) and her crew did a great job, so she paid for a full year's service - spring cleanup, maintenance, and fall cleanup - up front (in full - Angela had a discount, where the spring cleanup would essentially be free if done this way and mom, having gotten to know Angela when she worked in the yard the fall previous decided to trust her - big mistake). When spring came around, Angela sent dropped two girls off on two separate occasions a week apart. They did six hours one day, four hours the other, and barely managed to do a third of the garden (it was a perennial garden, which Angela insists her crews specialize in, but unless she is there to direct them - and since she is now running her business in Spokane from Alaska, this isn't happening any time soon - they are pretty useless). What they did manage to do is destroy a clematis vine my mom had spent years babying, mangle up a whole bunch of perennials, and rake up a bunch of top soil (which my mom had spent good money to put down) and rocks. Angela asked my mom how the girls did - my mom gave an honest answer, that she had expected Angela and the girls didn't know their knees from their elbows. Angela said that she wasn't working in the yard because she had to run her 'crews' (i.e., useless groups of minimum wagers more with no idea how to deal with a perennial garden). My mom said that if that was the case, she'd like a refund since it wasn't what she had signed up (or paid) for. Angela said the 'contract' (which we haven't found, despite moving and packing up the entire house) said no refunds. So mom sucked it up and said okay, schedule them, I'll just supervise them every second - three times Angela scheduled, and three times Angela canceled (citing 'weather'). Mom finally got fed up when Angela said she was going to schedule once again; Mom told her she wouldn't hold her breath (consider that each time Angela scheduled, mom had to arrange her entire schedule and then wait around for people who never showed) and Angela said she was being abusive and she (Angela) was canceling the contract and would be sending reimbursement. Which my mom has never received to this day. Before we attempted a small claims suite, we made every effort to resolve this situation with Angela. We have have Angela's written statement (she sent it via FB messenger) that she was going to reimburse, after all. But finally we had to go the legal route; unfortunately, that's when we found out that Angela, while all of this was going on, was too busy making plans to move to Alaska to actually be a responsible operator of her yard business and a honest person, as we found when we attempted to serve her with court papers at her business address (which is actually her father's home). Guess mom paid for her plane ticket to Alaska. read more
