This wonderful Hudson River spot is perfect for watching the sunset and enjoy some good food. If the service matched the quality of the view, I'd return more often. Of particular disdain is the Hostess J----er. I have found her rude, impatient, unaccommodating and generally annoyed with every encounter. Since she is the first impression at 3 Westerly she sets the mood. She should be removed from her position. She knows nothing about customer service. Many other staff members could use a reminder that 'the customer is always right,' even when they maybe wrong. Hopefully, by Spring, more sweetness will arrive at 3 Westerly. read more

Black truffle mushroom pizza really good; burgers were loaded and choice of fries, sweet potato fries or salad. I had the Dragon Tempura sushi (very good), Chilean sea bass with chimichurri sauce (WOW). Everyone was accommodating and anxious for you to have what you want and how you want it to be served. What a beautiful spot! Service was EXCELLENT. Our waitress was super attentive without being over-the-top. Patient as well, because we took forever to look at the menu. Crunchy rice cakes were delicious but a small serving size (4) pieces for $16 wasn't worth it. Also ordered the Wagyu Steak Tartare but was very disappointed when the Wagyu came out totally cooked and tasted so dry. Why is a menu item a tartare if it comes out cooked? For entree we split the lobster ravioli's that were so delicious. It came with 2 jumbo shrimps on top which wasn't indicated on the menu but should be. Overall, the space is beautiful, service is great, wine selection and taste were great, food/menu has minor room for improvement, views I can imagine during the daytime are spectacular. Before picking 3W, I looked into some other places, read reviews and to be honest was a bit nervous about what we could encounter, but I gave it a shot anyway cause the views are impeccable. Service: from the hostess, our waitress, even bus boys were extremely courteous and always asking if they could do anything for us. One of my big indicators of service, is if my water is 1/3 empty and left unfilled for a time. It was maybe a minute before the waiters walked over and asked if they could pour me more. It was excellent service, point blank. Food: we got pretty much every appetizer, all were great and came out fresh -but the wings were the stand out for me. Got a burger for my meal, and again, very impressed. Cooked to my liking (medium) and fries were crispy again a must for me. Ambiance was the reason I took the chance, and I'm happy I did. We already booked a brunch for next weekend to go back. For a moderate price relative to the food ambiance and experience, this is a must. Especially bigger groups. Went for Mother's Day brunch. Sat at a table next to the window and therefore looked out at Hudson River. Food and service were good and price reasonable. Wasn't happy with the $5 valet parking, but I guess everyone has to make a living UPDATE! This year no $5 valet parking. Still got a window by the water which was visible as the Hudson River and also as the hard rain coming down. Noisier than last year, but good still good. read more

The views are spectacular! We showed up on time for our 6 pm reservation and were given the choice to sit outside or inside. My daughter wanted to sit outside so that's where we went. It was a perfect day! We ordered drinks, which took a little to long to came because the bar seemed to be backed up? Since we were taking it easy we didn't sweat it to much. Service was fine just slow but it was Father's day and it was a full house. To start we ordered the Arugula, Prosciutto Mozzarella Pizza and the Shrimp Tempura Sushi. Both were fantastic. For dinner my husband got the Filet Mignon and he said that it was excellent steak house quality! My daughter had the Lobster Ravioli with Prawns. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sliders from the appetizer section. We shared our dishes and were so happy we did!! They were both great but I would say that the sliders were unbeatable! I would get them again and again and again! Yes, of course we had dessert!! My husband had the Warm Cookie Skillet with ice cream, my daughter had the Flourless Chocolate Cake and I had the Ping Pong Donut holes rolled in sugar and cinnamon. All were good but the Warm cookie skillet definitely was the winner hands down!! We found ourselves fighting for it!! Ive now been here twice and have had an excellent experience each time. Friendly wait staff, great variety of drinks and food. The ambiance, modern decor and views are definitely the best part. My main gripe with this restaurant are the prices. Unless you go during happy hour, expect to spend well over $150 for a family of 4 for dinner and some drinks. $18 for a burger or sandwich is a bit much in my opinion. He went with his friends and offered to pick up food. I was thrilled! The lobster roll was a weird yellow color and had little to no lobster for the $30 price. Bread was BEYOND stale. It had a weird cheddar cheese/red pepper flavor? The tuna tartar was nearly $40 and a TON of cucumber (which my husband specified I HATE) and so little tuna/avocado that they should be ashamed to say this is "tuna tartar" and NOT cucumber tartar. The shrimp cocktail was rubbery and overcooked. The staff was more than worth the $30 tip but the food - if this is 3 Westerly post pandemic then we will NEVER go back. This place has upped its game. Setting is beautiful with both inside and outside seating having great views. No wait for inside seating but be advised that outside seating may require a wait depending on day and time (I went on Friday night with great weather). Service friendly and quick, but not rushed. Menu has a great variety and something for everyone. Prices are slightly high but you are paying for the waterfront location so it's worth the markup. Food was delicious all around, ordered octopus app, brick chicken (amazing) and crispy chicken sandwich with truffle fries upgrade (sooooo worth it). For dessert we had the donut holes and drinks with dinner were red sangria which I loved. More on sweet side just as an FYI. Expansive beer selection and went with delirium and Allagash White. One of the Best - if not The Best - waterfront dining options in Westchester. On a beautiful Sunday afternoon we waited 30 min. for an outside table. The wait was more than worth it. The minutes flew as we passed the time around the surrounding river walkway taking in the sun and sailboats (benches available). Place is practically a two hour vacation spot. Seated at a comfortable table clearly overlooking the water and Rockland / Jersey landscape. Overhead hanger which covers the suns rays does not infringe on the outside beauty. The pleasant guitar folk background singing only added to the comfort and ambiance of this place. Oh yes...the food. First off - very diverse menu. A separate Brunch Menu was available however we stayed with the basic menu. Actually there was nothing basic about it. Various offerings - Steak, chicken and seafood covered the main entrees. There's a separate Sushi selection with seven options. The "Between The Bread" offers burgers, chicken and gilled cheese options. "Black Oven Pizza" offers five options - plenty of salad selections as well. As for our selections - we stayed mostly with sharing starters which were all winners. The Steak Tartare was perfectly prepared with a whole grain mustard. Tasteful with a slight kick to it. The "Crunchy Rice Cakes" fared even better. The spicy tuna tartare over the cakes was delicious - we wanted more. We also shared the "Mussels Josephine" was another welcome selection. The tasteful broth worked perfectly with the mussels and for bread dipping. We also ordered "The Margherita Pizza with the sweet tasty San Marzano sauce. The dessert menu looked interesting as well however we were more than satisfied and passed. Price wise - a steal. The above with a nice bottle of Chardonnay came to $107 without tip. First off, I'm not from NY. I'm giving them a 5 bc I think this place isn't getting the notification it deserves. The outside sitting area is amazing for the area. Plenty of tables and couches so depending on drinks and lounging vs dining sitting is available to enjOy the beautiful water views. I was here with children whIch would have been so unfortunate if not for the large grassy area they could play on and mildly yell on which their voices travelled and didn't upset other customers. The drinks were a 5 and so was my meal. Service was great but the manager who was working appeared super anal and uptight. This place should be an upscale (food and pricing that is) relaxed atmosphere and maybe some chill pills should remind the staff to take it easy. The food, drinks, and views speak for themselves. Second time here. First time tried spinach artichoke dip. Spinach was still frozen. For $13 I would have hoped for fresh spinach. Today, we go to tiki bar. Bartender is blowing his nose, not once, but three times. Had to ask him on the third time to please wash his hands. Next order pretzel, which is clearly made with their pizza dough and has no pretzel taste what's so ever. And the Guldens mustard was a real class act of a dipping sauce. Our server was even BETTER he went above and beyond everything we asked for. Food was EXTREMELY GOOD. Then it came to the bill being 10 of us some had cc some paid cash. There was a little confusion with dividing up how to pay with the manager. For some reason he couldn't figure it out. So he charged a cc 3x. After about a 1/2hr WE figured it out. We spent over 1k. Do you think the manager would come over and apologize or offer to buy us drinks or something NO. We like the place so much we even stayed at the bar after. Only to see why the manager was like that. I'm pretty sure the frittata was made with fake eggs--there was a high water content and zero taste. The vegetarian bowl was just uninteresting.
