What a great spot in this gem of a town on the Hudson. Filled with locals so you know this place is doing things right. Warm and welcoming atmosphere with lots of staff to take care of your needs. Local beer and delicious wines to choose from. I started with French onion soup which was perfect. Cheesy with delicious bread topping and a nice rich onion soup. Perfect! Next was the Turkey shepherds pie with sweat potato topping. So comforting! We still had room and we shared key lime pie ( oh so sweet and tart ) and a very moist carrot cake. What a great meal. Popped into Maud's on the premise of them having a gluten-free menu available for patrons. It's close to the water, they have outdoor seating, and it's pretty spacious inside. We had three different people come to our table for service, which was a little odd because it was so early in the day that it wasn't busy yet. The menu didn't have much that was appealing to me, but they had gluten-free beer available. I'm guessing it was the owner who was originally visiting our table for the drink orders who got a little sassy with me when I was trying to figure out what I wanted. I decided to get the marinated Portobello mushrooms, which looked incredibly sad, as you can see in the photo. My friend's meal looked a little more appetizing, so he was happy with his. Maud's is wonderful! It reminds me of traveling Ireland. I Love their salad dressing on everything. Their fish and chips rivals any that I had in Ireland. This was out pitstop right off the Metro North. Steak sandwich was pretty good. Stick with pub standards and you won't go wrong. We had a very nice dinner at Maude's Tavern this week. We shared the endive salad and an order of absolutely delicious mussels! The sauce was so good-we ate quite a bit of bread to soak up that sauce! We had an excellent Sauvignon Blanc with our dinner. For dessert, we shared a piece of chocolate hazelnut torte-so good! This is such a lovely fun place - doesn't look like "Cheers" but you can feel the warm vibes as soon as you come in - I don't live in Hastings, but everybody who works here remembers you - like the song says. And the food is excellent. Three times, three different dishes, all excellent! And some really creative specials. Some in our party this time didn't love their pub basic foods, so four stars, but I loved everything I had -- and the service is also very good! Parking can be a little difficult, depending on the time, but we found spaces every time. Prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. Was a ok. We were in the town and looking for a spot with a semblance of a view. Sat outside and our waitress was very attentive. You can see the Hudson River past the train station. It's next to a parking lot and not very charming, but was ok on a nice evening. I liked my mussels- tasty and as they should be. Kids liked their kid meal picks. Husband wasn't a fan of his fried chicken meal- was oddly sweet and not surprisingly bees kept attacking it. They bring out coloring books and crayons for the kids and I always appreciate when restaurants do, which allows us adults to relax a little!! My drink was also subpar and tasted like it came straight out of a mix bottle, which given they look like they have a full bar is a shame. So that's my honest review. It was very, very good...and gluten free! Now, the gluten free fries, for anyone wondering, deff have room for improvement, as they lack the crisp (clearly baked). But, the texture gives you peace of mind because you know they haven't been contaminated in a "dirty" fryer. Overall, a solid 3.5, but the quality gluten free food and great, friendly, warm, homey service pushed it to a 4 star review. When nice out, enjoy the outdoor area if you want to catch some sun or glimpse at the Hudson. Visited here on Sunday evening. Got a table at about 5 pm. They were out of Guinness. It took over an hour from when we were seated to when we got our meal. My meatloaf was mushy and a bit off. They placed my wife's sandwich on white bread because they ran out of rolls. The pasta with clams was watery and bland. I am generally not very picky and I have come to expect staffing challenges post Covid with compassion. However this appeared to be more than that. However, my friend and I were extremely disappointed by the food. The mozzarella sticks and fries were fine, but the burger was abysmal. The patty itself was very poorly seasoned; it tasted like someone just grilled a plain puck of beef without any salt. Instead of a burger bun, we were given massive Kaiser rolls, which were way too big for this burger. I think the pickles were house-made, but they were hardly picked and tasted more like plain cucumbers. I asked for lettuce, and I was given a single leaf that was buried in some poorly made coleslaw. I couldn't finish this "burger". I wish we were told that they were out of hamburger buns; we would not have ordered from here. I never post bad reviews but the burger was so bad that I felt compelled to warn others. read more

The food here is very decent and typical of what you'd expect from a bar/tavern style restaurant. Sampled several appetizers including the bruschetta, smoked atlantic salmon, crab cakes, pigs in a blanket, fried mushrooms, and cheese ravioli. I loved both the bruschetta and the salmon - it's spread on toasted whole grain bread and seasoned really well. The staff here are wonderful and are very efficient with bringing out dishes and refilling drinks. Had a fantastic experience at this spot today. Driving through town I got the urge to grab a bite and take in a view of the river and the cliffs. I was able to quickly park and get a little table outside here. Sat outside and got the great view of the water and cliffs in the distance that my heart desired, while enjoying a great juicy burger and cold IPA on tap. I'll make this quick... Cute place, merely 3 minutes jump from the train station, cozy yet ample enough space inside-- the ideal stop and grab a drink or two before the train type deal. Came in on a Sunday and it was poppin but managed to get a 2-top table. Staff is quick and mighty attentive to take our food order (we kept asking for more time bc we were gabbing to each other) but the beers took a good 10 mins to get to us. Had the portobello mushroom-red pepper-goat cheese app and mozz sticks. Average bar food, but still good pairing with the brews. Ordered a vodka shot and damn was it HUGE! More like 2.5 shots and we were very happy at that! Only 2 issues 1) they took forever to bring us the check even tho we said we have to make the train. We had a good 20 mins to spare but it was coming down to the wire when we had to ask 3 times and then got up, went to the bar to see the staff chatting and our bill chilling there, ready for us.... OK PPL LETS GOOOOO 2) the front corner of the place kinda smelt like cat pee mixed with gym socks.
