Stopped in for dinner over the weekend. Overall our experience was okay. Our starter came out with our entrees which was a bit odd but not a huge deal. What can I Say except I love this place! Perhaps I've been here 40 times and I've never had a bad meal. In fact the food is outrageously good. I loved everything about this place. It's very easy to make reservations and the location is on a Main Street/highway in Paoli. Parking is not the best but it is available. The dining area is broken into several areas allowing for private events, large parties or a vibrant business. There is a nice sized bar for Happy Hour or a quick bite. The walls and floors are dark with a heavy feel but it's balanced with, off white leather seats and big open windows. This is in the open entrance area. There are other rooms/areas that have that a dated bar/saloon decor. But it's well kept and appears to have a fresh coat of stain as everything was very shiny. My reservation was 6:00pm and Happy Hour ends at 6:30. I was able to order a beer in the dining room at the discounted rate. Although many restaurants have moved to this model this restaurant has not but, the server was gracious. She remained that way throughout our entire experience. What I really liked about the menu is, the wide variety and the size options of small tapas style plates and standard size entree's. We opted for the small plate crab cakes, they were so fresh and broiled to perfection. There were 4 cakes each plated with a different and delicious special sauce, tartar, cocktail, remoulade and the other I couldn't identify. It had a taste similar to duck sauce but not as sweet. Then on to the pizza of the day, white pizza, prosciutto and caramelized onions. The crust was slightly over cooked but had a nice blend of flavors. The absolute best the thing was the dessert! You must understand that I truly despise lemon cake however, for some reason the description compelled me to order the lemoncello marscapone. OMG! Did I say OMG?! So good! The flavors and texture were a nice balance, it was absolutely delicious. The cake was not overpowered by lemon flavor, it was just absolutely perfect. The chocolate cake was good as well but, the lemoncello marscapone is a stand out item. I shared the deserts with my mother and she agreed how amazing the lemoncello marscapone is. When my meal ended the owner was gracious enough to come visit and chat with us, that was a nice added touch. 4 stars instead 5 because one of the items we ordered wasn't available and I really wanted to try their pork ribs. I heard they were having a Friday free pizza special and decided to take advantage. It's curbside only but order any menu item and get a free pizza with basic toppings. You can even pre order and their order service worked just fine. I ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls and pepperoni pizza. I showed up early and was happy to wait but they had my order all set 10 minutes early! The egg rolls were hot and crispy set on a bed of lettuce. The egg rolls didn't have a sauce but they were great on their own- juicy meat, creamy cheese, and super crispy fried shells. Very filling as a plate for one or shareable appetizer. I don't know that I would order the pizza on its own but this is such a great deal to support and worth a Friday treat, will be spreading the word! read more

I attend 30 Main for the 1st time last night, as a treat for my birthday. From the moment my party walked in, it was a pleasant experience. We waited about 2 minutes, before a lovely little lady greeted us with a warm smile & welcomed us to the restaurant. She gave us the option to have a intimate dinner inside, or enjoy our dinner in the back where they have a Live band & seating. She let us know that she's the Mother of the owners, so we were in good hands. She actually took us on a mini walk around the corner of the 30 Main, and it looked beautiful. They had a good crowd for a Friday night. Lovely atmosphere, Tables & lighting looked so pretty. My party & I decided to have dinner inside. Mom took us back inside the restaurant, and Wished me a Happy Birthday. She let me pick the seating for my party & made sure we were taking care of.. Thanks Mom Now The Food.... My Experience - 5 Stars Our waitress Mary Ann, so sweet & patient. She Knew the menu from top to bottom, and had some good recommendations. For Starters, I was giving a nice plate of Hummus with a unique bread that was toasted just right. I had hummus one time in my life & swore I would never eat it again. However last night, the Hummus I received was absolutely DELICIOUS !!!! Did I mention it was on the house, as a sweet gesture for my birthday. I then had a Classic Caesar Salad, fresh Lettuce with the right amount of Parmesan cheese, Croutons & dressing. For my main entree I chose the Crab & Linguine. It consist of Linguine, corn, grape tomatoes, Crab meat, with a touch of Parmesan cheese. It packed a lot of flavor, the Crab meat, tomatoes, & corn blend together very well. Good Portion & Tasty !!! We have a great evening sitting in the outdoor nicely heated tent. We had a chance to chat with some of the workers and while their spirits are high, the fatigue of the ever changing rules is exhausting. My heart truly broke for them. We had been visiting a couple other local places that day, so we weren't starving. But I ordered the shrimp and filet skewers, while it's an appetizer, it could easily be a meal. The filet tips were so good, packed with flavor and very tender. The wild rice it was served over was perfectly cooked. We also ordered the arugula and prosciutto flatbread with a fig jam and topped with goat cheese. It was incredible. Loved the saltiness against the sweetness and the goat cheese added a great tang to it. Great meal and look forward to going back soon! read more

I'm not really sure what to say about this place, honestly. I think maybe the issue was that we were there on a Saturday night that seemed geared more towards people interested in music and drinks than in food, so we might have just been there at a bad time for dinner. On the positive side: The waitstaff was very friendly and pleasant, and the menu looks fantastic. The main dishes were reasonably tasty. Negatives: Our salads and main courses arrived at the same time. My salad was doused in vinegar. My main dish was lukewarm, missing the side it was supposed to come with, and in a different sauce than the one described on the menu. The real problem for us, though, was that once the live music started it was overwhelmingly, unbearably loud, even in the back room -- we skipped dessert and fled. I might try coming back for lunch or early on a weeknight, but for sure never again on a busy weekend. read more

My grandkids wanted brunch on Sunday morning so I took them here recently. We were greeted by a man wearing a bow tie and jacket who seated us at a great table. The menu offers a wide variety of foods. Excellent shrimp and grits, and chicken and waffles. The dishes were served piping hot and we all loved them. Coffee was great too. A bit expensive but really worth the splurge. Highly recommended! The grandkids want to come back next week. It was so good that I just might. A really special place. Spotless too. Found this place via Yelp and decided to give it a try after seeing that the owner took the time to address a dissatisfied customer in a professional manner and explanation about the charity work going on at the time. I happened to go on all you can eat Muscles night. Both food and drink were very nice. The owner stopped by to check on everything. Since it was a little slower we had a good chat while he still attended to the other patrons (who were all regulars...he knew all of them by name and their back stories). Even if the food wasn't as good as it was, I'd go back simply because of the atmosphere and the service. Great place and highly recommended. read more

We chose 30 Main for a pre-wedding family gathering because they had the space for a large party in their outdoor tent (we wanted to minimize potential COVID exposures where we could). They had set us up indoors because it appeared to want to rain, but after we explained the situation (and the lack of rain on the radar) they happily set us up in the tent. We had our own private space. The food was excellent, especially the short ribs (which everyone ate up completely) and the chicken Parmesan (crisp but not greasy). The dessert was just as good- the chocolate cake was flavorful but not overly sweet, and the limoncello berry cake was unbelievably light. Service was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The only surprise is they now charge an extra fee for a credit card. I get costs are up and that's one way to keep prices low but most diners expect to pay with a credit card, so maybe a cash discount would be better to not make people feel surcharged. read more

This place is great for a date night. I went Friday night w a large group. I'd sit at the bar next time because it makes more sense given the Live music vibe. It is worth mentioning that the Music was great. The older folks in my group thought it was too loud but I thought it was a nice change from quiet boring dinners. In terms of food, I would just stick to the mussels appetizer next time. The sauce they come in is delicious. We asked for more bread so we could enjoy every last drop of the sauce. Next best thing on the menu is the branzino even though it tasted like it was seared/fried on a pan which I wasn't expecting given how delicate that fish is. Alias Chardonnay has 13.5% abv which was highest alc content out of the cheaper white wines; a Very nice tasting wine. read more

Went to eat before seeing a local musical. Our waitress, although kind, wasn't much aware of the menu or what the restaurant had to offer. For example, the menu had several items listing leeks as an ingredient. She didn't know what they were or if they could be held from the order. When she confirmed with the chef that we could remove, she asked me to point out leeks on the menu so she could right down what to leave out. I also ordered the baked spinach orzo. I am more than certain the spinach was from a can. Super salty and over reduced. My friend ordered a mushroom pasta and he felt the same with his dish. Not fresh, super salty. My husband and I came here for a reunion for the band from Valley Forge Military Academy. It was a nice location but no parking. We were crammed into a room that was to small for our party. The waiters and waitresses where very pleasant. We had a buffet and the food was good not great. The bad part about this was when the food ran out there was a 20 minute wait. read more

I'm not shocked that instead of taking my review and learning from it to see how you can improve your restaurant, you instead decided to take no responsibility and neglect that you guys did anything wrong by claiming my review was part of "pay for play". I also received a message shortly after my initial review calling me pathetic and so on and so forth by who else but....your waitress!! It's an outrage that after leaving her a generous tip even after my awful experience, that she had the nerve to send such a message. Is that how you run a business? Real professional I'll tell ya!! Your whole "we would like nothing more than to talk to you in person" thing is clearly yet another example of your unprofessionalism. That comment was obviously your version of saying "you won't say it to my face" and a pathetic attempt at intimidation lol. I took my fiance to 30 Main for dinner wanting to try a new place. I was given a groupon as a gift so definitely helped with the cost. We made reservations but didnt need them. The place was pretty empty on a Friday night and also it looked like a bunch of the patrons were locals who were regulars. We bought a bottle of wine; however they didnt have it so offered us a similar bottle. The wait staff was super friendly and attentive. We sat next to the window which was nice and bright. The booths in the back looked pretty dark with low lighting but everything looked clean. Their bar is pretty nice. Its huge and well lit. On to the food. We started with the tuna tartare. The menu said it came with avocado but instead it came with seaweed salad. Not a huge deal, and the tuna tartare was awesome. The fish was fresh and the poke sauce was flavorful; I would get that again for sure. Next I got the seafood risotto which had decent sized chunks of seafood in it and the risotto was cooked perfectly. Its deceiving how much is in the bowl they give you but I took some home for a second meal. My fiance got the special which was bbq chipotle half chicken. It was huge, but she loved it. The sauce was good, it had a kick to it and worked really well with the chicken. The chicken was tender, moist and the fries were crispy. Overall our food experience was great. While no place is perfect the food here is worth checking out. We will go back. Ps. Note to the owner. I almost didnt come to 30 main because I am an avid yelper and saw your response to some of the comments from other yelp reviews. I try to be fair in my reviews because I feel like it helps others make a decision for a food choice when looking in the area. Everyone will have their opinions good or bad on the Internet. So, the wife and I had a gift card to 30 Main as we are new to the area and family wanted to help familiarize us with some of the places near by. We were excited to try a local place that had such a large selection and some solid reviews. The place is quite warm and inviting, really liked the space, but I wasn't sure what it was (sports bar? Upscale American?). we were seated immediately at a table in the corner next to some DJ equipment. Table was wobbly (cost me 20% of my martini shortly) and couch seating was awkwardly low compared to the table. Waiter immediately asked for drinks but didn't give us drink menus. After giving us the drink menus I asked for the dirty 30 and asked him to wait for my wife's selection while I asked a few questions about the menu. After answering said questions, he left to make my drink behind the bar. My drink was delivered by a very nice lady but then the waiter didn't come back to take my wife's drink order til a while later. Water service was a bit rough and somewhat disappointing as we watched other tables have water poured but were left out. I ordered the wedge salad and blackened scallops and shrimp. The wife ordered a cessation salad and the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese. Timing of the food was fine, and we both enjoyed our salads. Wife's cessation came out without croutons, but again the nice lady (maybe owner) was gracious and quick to resolve. I did really like the wedge salad, but $12? The best wedge salad I ever had was at the 111 chop house in Connecticut and I think it was $8. My wife enjoyed the buff chicken mac although it was nothing special. While I was impressed with the cookery on my scallops, the shrimp was over cooked and the orzo it came on was just sad. Lacking any flavor, and having crispy dry pieces throughout, I can't believe a chef who cooked scallops so well, could serve such a bland accompaniment, especially for $26. While I am happy to see a local place instead of a chain this place just seemed overpriced, and lacking in any real excitement. Everything was just sub par. read more

Small businesses- especially restaurants are really struggling right now. Try and order take out when and if you can. We ordered burgers tonight from 30 Main. They were fantastic. They were cooked perfectly and they came with hand cut fries. It's the best burger we've had in a long time. Ordering was easy and just dropped in for pickup. First impression was wonderful.  We were seated promptly.  The ambiance was very pleasant -- romantic and  modern, especially the art works on the wall, made the place very tasteful.  the server was friendly, attentive and cordial.  All worth 5 stars.  Unfortunately, rest of the experience, especially the food did not match up with the first impression. First the drinks.  The draft beer list was small, but had 2 to 3 decent craft selections.  Unfortunately they were out of both of them.  The server came back with a different list.  Stone IPA it was.  It's a very nice beer, but I wish they had updated their draft list.   Then the food.  I had my eye on the asparagus and Poke Tuna appetizers.  Unfortunately they were out of both of them. Chicken Street Taco it was. Honestly it was probably the best item we ordered.  Decent blackened flavors and decent size (2 tacos per order).  I'd give it a 4 star but due to the lack of choices it's a 3. Moving onto entrees. We both had our hearts set on steaks and the New York Strip looked very appealing.  But guess what - they were out of it.  So we settled for crab cakes and Tuna (pan seared sushi grade Tuna).  I'm sorry to report that we were both disappointed. The Tuna was worth 3 stars.  The tuna was fresh, sushi grade indeed.  I didn't love how it was seared.  It had a panko-like crust, instead of sesame.  It came with very plain rice, with a thick sauce drizzled over it, and came with a side of "Asian broccoli slaw".  It was a bowl of mushy broccoli.  I ate only the tuna. From the little bit that I tasted, I'd give the crab cake 3 stars, but it wasn't my entrée. It was filled with decent amount of crab meat.  But I was told it wasn't good.  Also French fries as a side made it cheap. Over all I wasn't very thrilled with my visit.  I'd try it again only if I could get the selections I wanted.  But with so many different choices in the area, it won't happen soon. read more

I have been a steady lunch and dinner customer ever since they opened and have always enjoyed the atmosphere, friendly staff, the service and the food. The owner, Michael, has been a driving force behind the Berwyn Business District and stayed open all through COVID. He supported his employees by increasing their pay sine their tips were lower. The have a large and diverse menu but will also make anything you want as long as they have the ingredients. The bar area is also a great place to relax at the end of a day or a busy week. Please support them now that they have returned to a full schedule. read more

This place is definitely the best kept secret on the Main Line. Great atmosphere, fantastic menu, and welcoming staff. I've been here for dinner, brunch, and evening outdoor/super COVID safe bands. First time on Thursday night - group of 4. Decent wine list - okay beer selection- excellent mixed drinks. Server was very attentive. We would recommend the Burrata Caprese, the Mushroom Risotto, the Short Ribs, the Frutti Di Mare Linguine and Creme Brûlée for dessert. I had dinner here on Saturday night with a girlfriend. Our meals were amazing! I had the salmon special - came with mango salsa, coconut risotto, and veggies. She had a steak. I cannot rave enough about my meal. Salmon was tender and delicious (if a touch under-cooked). I get that some people order "medium" salmon, but I would prefer if it was cooked all the way through. That may be a personal preference though. Risotto and veggies were the best I've had. My only issue was the ambiance / decor. This could be a high-end restaurant if they modernized it. It was nearly empty on a Saturday at 7pm, and I'm sure the look of the place is part of the problem. Your food and beverages are good enough for five stars! I was a solo part to the large group banquet hosted at your fine Restaurant. I went there with a friend on Friday to check it out, as I'm not from the area. I had the Spinach Pizza Pie, that our waitress Marianne had said was only recently added to the menu. What a delicious combination & should be moved to the top of the menu! On Saturday night, we were a large group that chose that area because of the difficulty some of our Group and/or their guests would have climbing stairs to the Banquet Room. It was tight yes. But no different then my home at any Holiday Dinner. The food was delicious and nicely presented and of a great variety. It was not a free-for-all charge to the Buffet tables. Our Member Facilitator indicated the Table Order to be served. It was probably not heard by all.... for all the right reasons; age, hearing aids, and the cumulative noise of @ 60 Old Comrades being very happy to be together. As others have mentioned, they go heavy on the salt and I love salt. Last year we ordered mac and cheese for our 4 y/o and it was outstanding. This year it wasn't on the menu (no kid menu). The waitress suggested chicken fingers and a platter so large came out that a normal adult couldn't eat it. I ordered the entree salad with salmon and the salmon came on a separate plate instead atop of the salad. I was served after everyone else got their salads but before the others got their entrees. The waitress appeared to be new and there may have been a language barrier. The crab cake entree came without any sauce. We remember last year it came with several sauces. We dined here back in January and had an awesome experience. The food was delicious, the service was quick, and the atmosphere was ideal for a Saturday night out. Our waitress was efficient (and hilarious). At the end of the night, we even had an opportunity to speak with the owner, Michael. Michael was extremely professional, courteous, and personable. It's obvious that he takes great pride in 30 Main and strives to deliver superior customer service to all of his guests. Overall, definitely one of our new go-to spots on the main line. Dined here last weekend with friends who had been before and enjoyed the experience, so hopes were high. The wine list looked good and items offered tasty. We questioned a menu item that was on the website, but not on the menu and the waiter informed us that they only do special events, not traditional meals and that nothing on the website would be offered, which seemed really strange to me--we called and made a reservation and they took it and now they're acting like they're doing us a favor by allowing us to eat there? Things went downhill from there, we ordered some appetizers, which took nearly an hour to appear, then our entrees even longer, three came out leaving our other friend with no food for over 15 minutes with no excuses or apology. I can understand a restaurant being overwhelmed or short staffed, but we were again reminded that they "don't really do this anymore and we should be glad we were allowed to eat there at all." Absolutely unacceptable. To add insult to injury, we asked for water glasses to be filled four separate times...it never arrived. One of our group is in the food business and remarked on the way out, "We're never coming back." read more
