I've been to a few events here, all in different areas of the restaurant and they've all been great! HIGHLY recommend the room with the bar and indoor/outdoor patio. So, so nice! I've also been here with just adults, with my two kids, and each experience has been wonderful. The food is delicious- I've yet to have something I don't like! The food here is overpriced and awful. Steak Frites: here are a few helpful tips 1. If you are planning to pass off eye roast for steak frites...at least marinate it 2. Season your meat. Salt & pepper is all you need 3. Cook the meat according to the guests preference 4. The frites go on the plate, to mingle with the juices...not in a basket. 5. Went with a large group (called in advanced) and cannot say enough good things about the service! John was tending the bar on the patio as well as our group and was fantastic! He had some helpers throughout the night as well that were also great. My watermelon margarita was delicious! John said they make their own watermelon syrup in house along with their spicy syrup which I did not try but was tempted! He was also great at catering to individuals with very specific drink preferences at our table which was an added bonus! Food was the only thing that was meh. Wouldn't say it was terrible by any means was just a bit inconsistent. Appetizer of the ahi tuna wontons were SO good. Would go back for just that appetizer and the margarita tbh! Had the crab cake dinner and it wasn't really anything to write home about. Others had burgers and a pork sandwich that they enjoyed. I had been here before and had a Reuben which I enjoyed as well. I can appreciate that they have actual dinner options for those who don't enjoy standard (but edgier) bar fare and sandwiches but I wouldn't seek them out here, personally. For dessert I shared a slice of the PB & J ice cream cake and while it wasn't the most pleasant on the eye (keep in mind it was also 85+ degrees on the patio where we were eating) it was so yummy going down! My family and I dined at this establishment back in the month of May. We all found the food to be quite tasty, and truth be told we were pleasantly surprised at the kindness received from our waitress. I believe her name was Jeannie. Some weeks passed, we found ourselves looking for a place dine. So we decided let's go back to dine at Brittingham's again. Little did we know that that second dining experience turned out to be our last one at this establishment. First I have to say the food was good. But the waitress was was unkind. No matter how much she mustered up the tolerance to wait on us, her facial expressions and body language said otherwise. I cannot recall her name, but she's blonde hair, older woman. Came here recently for dinner and had to pay a cover charge of $10 a person. I felt that was ridiculous and not worth it. The vibe on the patio was fun and sitting by the fire was really nice. We ordered wings, pretzel bites and shrimp tostatos. Everything was okay but nothing on the menu really excited us. The pretzel bites were definitely the kind you can buy in the freezer aisle of any grocery store. Overall, I think it's a fun place to go for a drink but probably won't be going back for a meal and will definitely he avoiding nights with cover fees. read more

Great atmosphere, decent service, watered down drinks, and overpriced, sub-par food. Got the Barren Hill burger. I can't say for sure that the burger was frozen, but the perfectly symmetrical, circular, small patty looked like something I bought from my grocery store freezer. Also, I should have listened to my friend who, before I went here, said "their drinks are watered down, just get a beer". I'd come here again if someone else was paying, but that's probably the only way you'd get me back there. And I'd probably stop to eat on my way there. read more

Brittingham's is a good place to drink. It's an Irish pub, for goodness sake! Daily, from 5 PM to 7 PM it's happy hour. ($4 Guinness? Not too shabby.) There's live music (at times), and they've got a stage (all the time). They have plenty of seating plus a bar worth its weight in booze, so bring friends. As for brunch, they're a decent spot. Besides the bar area, they have a homey dining room, naturally lit, with tablecloths to keep it real. You've got standard brunch offerings, plus regionally-flavored ones. If you're thirsty, they've got mimosas. If you're of a mind to grab lunch, try their corned beef special sandwich ($6.75), served cold with a side of oh-so-crunchy homemade potato chips. Not sure what makes it special exactly, but it's a sound meal with lots of meat; you won't leave hungry. read more

I didn't have very high expectations for Brittingham's after reading some of the recent reviews but I'm glad I decided to check it out for myself. The exterior of the building looks fantastic and I will be sure to come back when it's warm to hang out on the roof top deck. The interior has (2) bars and a few different sections of tables. The interior décor was just as nice as the exterior and it's obvious a lot of thought was put in to the renovations. My friend and I grabbed two seats at the bar on the left hand side as you walk in. We were immediately greeted by Andrew our bartender. While looking over both the drink and lunch menu I had a chance to examine the inside of the bar. All the glasses had been wiped down and they didn't have any water spots. The floor mats were spotless and everything was extremely well organized. After a few minutes Andrew took our drink orders and also advised us that their larger beer bottles were only $6.50! I have never seen large bottles of Rogue or La Fin Du Monde for such a reasonable price. *UPDATE $6.50 special for large bottles is no longer** I wanted to try both of the day's specials. For an appetizer I had the Flat Bread of the day Sausage, Olives, Artichokes & cheese. The toppings were very flavorful but I thought the bread was a bit too thin & crisp. It reminded me more of a cracker than bread. Even though the bread wasn't too my liking overall it was well put together. For lunch the special was a fried Oyster Po'boy with a spicy aioli. A side salad comes with the sandwich and the house dressing was awesome. I can't remember exactly what it was but I do remember that I really enjoyed it. The Oysters were cooked perfectly, the roll was fresh and the aioli had a nice spicy kick. All of the food was made fresh and I didn't see anything that looked like it had been frozen. There are 20+ beers on tap and the selection was good but not great. They have several bottled beers and cans available in several different styles. One of the highlights of Britthingham's was Andrew our bartender. He was friendly, personable and extremely informed on the beer and food. Usually bartenders in the burbs aren't quite this good and it turns out Andrew did work at a popular bar in the city. Sometimes, life throws you a curve ball and you hit the ball well. Such is the case when the place where I originally intended to meet a friend for lunch turned out to open later on weekends. My bad, I should have checked. We decided to head over to Brittingham's Pub for a drink, that turned into lunch and good time too. I've driven past this place hundreds of times. Often with FDC she recalls fondly, if a little fuzzily, good times in college. The original part of the building dates to the 1700s when RBI's was an inn in a main thoroughfare. It's now a well kept, if rambling, restaurant & bar, with some lovely patio seating in the rear. We were provided drink menus quickly and our drinks were poured expertly. The bar area is comfortable and bright, with an abundance of natural light. There are TVs above the bar showing various games. The spillover dining areas are TV free. The drink menu was pretty standard and, compared to what I'm used to, has less variety in beers. Still it was adequate and we both got a beer we enjoyed. The drinks were of substantial size. As time went on we were enjoying the place so much we decided to stay there & get a light lunch. Menus were provided. We ordered the calamari, Korean spring rolls, pretzel rivets & I got a wedge salad. I am a big fan of the wedge. We decide to move to a long wood slab table to eat. Our food comes reasonably quickly. I didn't have the calamari because of my seafood allergy. My friend reported them to be fine. Of the others the rock star was the Korean Spring Rolls. They were fresh and mixed some interesting flavors and textures. We loved them. The pretzels were average. Wedge was above average with plenty of bacon and bleu cheese. Pretty yummy. Our bartender/served was friendly and knowledgeable, she checked often to make sure we were happy. Overall it was quite pleasant, nothing like the college watering hole my sister recalled. I'd love to go back sometime soon to check out their dinner menu. read more

My friend and I happened upon Brittingham's as an accident. We were planning to go to another restaurant on Germantown Ave and passed this adorable Inn, so we turned around and tried it out. What a pleasant surprise! We were seated on the upstairs deck, which had a tent and heaters, which was necessary, as it was cold and rainy. We were the only two people upstairs on the deck, so we felt extremely save, COVID-19 wise. The waiter was friendly and wearing a string of Christmas bulbs. We decided to start off with the Buffalo cauliflower bites, they were okay, but I would suggest passing on these. But let me tell you about their Irish Onion Soup, the best I have had in ages. It's just like French onion soup and they use Gruyere cheese. The soup was in a crock, perfect temperature and deliciousness. Next, I ordered the Britt Burger, which has bacon jam..... oh my gosh, this was amazing. The burger was fresh and cooked perfectly and the salty/sweet jam complimented it. The fries tasted like McDonalds fries! We did try the honey sriracha Brussel sprouts, but I would I suggest passing on them. We will be back with our friends since the food was great and service was excellent. My only regret is that I didn't take pictures. Stopped in for dinner and drinks on a Saturday night with a small group. Parking is sparse and valet takes up half the lot so we had to park across the street. The place is pretty nice on the inside and outside, with the exception of smokers ruining the pretty outdoor fire with their disgusting cigarette butts. Inside, there's a bench and some tables and bar seating by each of their two bars. Most of the people stand and drink though. A live band was playing inside near one of the bars and left it difficult to have a conversation. This bar area was also very dark, while the second bar area was actually pretty well lit. First of all, I wouldn't really recommend this place for dinner. They are a bar/pub and should be enjoyed for their alcohol and bar bites, but not for a meal. Kitchen closes at 10, but there is still a "bar menu" available later. I ordered the flatbread which was as expected (after attempting to order the pasta pesto dish without all the add-ins, but they couldn't hear my order details over the music, so I just went with the flatbread). My boyfriend's wings were just okay. Overall, I left still feeling hungry, and therefore a little disappointed. If we went here just for drinks, I'd have given them an extra star. But as a dining establishment, I didn't particularly enjoy them. read more

I went here yesterday after spending the day at Morris Arboretum. I ordered fish and chips, a coke, and bread pudding. I called ahead of time for a 3:30 reservation. We arrived at 3:30 and found ample parking. When we arrived no one was at the front desk. Three people walked by and asked if we were being helped to which we replied, "No." After waiting about 10 min we were seated in the main dining area and given our menus. I don't drink so I can't comment on their alcoholic beverages but they had an entire menu of alcoholic drinks ranging from beers to cocktails. The non Alcoholic beverages were not listed so I had to ask what they had. The waitress was very nice and accommodating when I wanted to switch my drink from a coke to a lemonade. The wait for the drinks was about 10 min and the wait for the food was about 30. I didn't find the fish to be particularly flavorful but the potato wedges that came with it were so good! If I had to come back I would order a different entree with a side of potato wedges. For dessert I ordered the chocolate chip bread pudding which was topped with a scoop of vanilla ice. Team and a banana sauce. It was alright. I ended up taking most of it home in a box and it is still sitting in my fridge. It had a strong artificial banana extract smell and taste. The bathroom was nice and clean and they have live music on weekends. We spent about 2 hours here and about $30 per person. I would recommend this place if you are in the area read more

Came here on a Saturday night with friends to listen to the AM Band. My boyfriend ordered a Moscow mule at the bar and they just put the drink in a plain glass. There was absolutely no alcohol in it whatsoever. I asked the bartender how can this be a Moscow mule when you don't carry ginger beer. Total waste of $10.00. One waitress comes up to my girlfriend and asks her rudely if she started a tab. My girlfriend said no that she paid at the bar. No apologies whatsoever from the waitress. Total rudeness. read more

A recent stop for a light lunch with friends was disappointing. One person in our party asked for the raspberry lemonade as was told it wasn't available. Another asked for an Arnold Palmer and was told they could try to make it but only had a little lemonade left and it was "thin". Another asked for a Sprite but when received it said it was flat and exchanged it for a Coke. The Coke he said was not much better with only a slight amount of carbonation. I CAN report that they did have tap water and it was cold and plentiful. The pretzel bites with cheese sauce were good. The crabmeat lettuce wraps weren't bad per se but looked like something was missing from the plate with only three small singular lettuce leaves (picture miniature romaine leaves about 3.5" long and 2" wide) topped with a smattering of crabmeat and pickled onion. Hardly what I would call a "wrap". The nachos were a large plate of multicolor chips with only a hint of melted cheese. The pico de gallo was pale and bland and the black beans as promised in the menu description were visibility absent. The Brussels sprouts with honey sriracha sauce were ok as far as Brussels sprouts go. They were nicely roasted and for the $6 price were plentiful, however the sauce was a thin liquid poured over the top that pooled on the plate around them. My onion soup had a nice outer layer of cheese and the soup was hot and flavorful enough but the onions were few and far between. Since I was the one who suggested that we stop there I felt quite embarrassed and sorry for having recommended it. A mistake I won't make again. read more

This place was pretty cool. We went with a large party of 15 and the staff couldn't have been kinder or more accommodating. Of course, we made the plans in advance. Don't be one of those people who shows up with a party of a dozen on the spot and expect things to go smoothly. That's unrealistic and we all know it. Rant over, back to the restaurant. There's a cool room in the back where they put a bunch of tables together for our party. I wish I could remember our waitress's name because she was a rock star. To the point where once we were done, we gave her a very well deserved round of applause. The food is excellent. We tried about 3 different appetizers and I enjoyed my taste of each one. I had a cheesesteak as my entree. While not as massive as a classic "city cheesesteak", the flavor was definitely spot on. There's a great beer selection as well. My main gripe would be that the entree portion of the menu doesn't give you tons of options. If you are with some picky eaters, they might have some trouble. Bonus points to this place for having a valet service for parking. It gets crowded and the lot is small so not having to worry about it yourself is a huge relieve. The new Brittinghams is excellent. Last week we had the roast chicken and TV dinner. Chicken was perfectly brined and came out with a crispy skin and delicious sides. TV dinner was solid and tasty. The martini was well made and the wine selection is just perfect for the place. The vibe is very energetic - bring the kids and let then use outdoor voices. Decor is "modern traditional" and could even pass for a posh pub in the UK. WiFi is strong and there are plenty of TVs for sporting events. We went on day 4 of the opening and there were very minor service issues which I chalk up to working out the kinks (after going back a second time they still need improve their bussing - stacked, empty plates sit too long, but plates we're still working on get cleared too soon). All in all it shows a lot of promise and we are thankful for a truly local establishment we can patronage instead of the adequate, but inauthentic chains like Redstone and Seasons52. read more

Brittingham's renovated their building a few years ago and did an amazing job. The entire building looks nicer on the inside and outside. The patio area has a great atmosphere, even when it's colder outside. There are two banks of fire pits that are quite popular. I'm a Guinness fan, so I'm usually just getting that or a few other unique beers that they are on their rotation. I feel the food is a bit overpriced for the quality, but I'm assuming we are paying for the renovations. We usually don't eat here, but we come occasionally go out for the bar atmosphere. Parking is still just as horrible as before, but they do have valet parking. Every now and then, I'm not sure which door to use, the back door or the door on Germantown. read more

So disappointing. Used to be really good. New chef as of summer 2020 from what I understand. I wanted something different so had the meatloaf. Presentation was poor, 2 slices but meatloaf tasted like the sirloin steak TV dinner, garlic mashed potatoes were ok but something was overly salty (gravy?). Other meal was the steak and fries. Fries tasted like they came from McDonald's and steak was mediocre. Fries arrived in a cardboard "boat" like you see at the state fair. One lemonade and one soda brought the cost to $51! That's a lot of money for no vegetable with either meal, no pre dinner salad, and no bread basket. Waitress was very nice as was hostess. Paper plates and cups were not a problem (as some patrons did not like that) but what was served on them was so sad. read more

We stopped by Brittingham's on a whim last week for a quick bite. We hadn't been here in quite some time. The remodel is amazing! Last time it was a dark and outdated pub, not anymore. The restaurant is modern and they offer outdoor seating. Parking is a bit of an issue. They don't have enough spaces. It was pretty crowded for a Thursday evening. We were greeted outside by the hostess and we requested to eat inside. We were sent to the indoor hostess. She was a young girl and flat out miserable. Our server was great! He was knowledgeable as about the menu and recommended some good options. We started with the hot wings. They were great! Nice char and the sauce was perfect amount of heat. They are a bit pricey at $14.00 but still good. My wife went with the French onion soup and mushroom flatbread. The soup was good, not great. The flatbread was very very good. It wasn't quite what we expected. The dough was a bit thicker then a flatbread, it was similar to the thickness of a pizza. The mushrooms and onion were spot on. Only complaint would be the balsamic. There seemed to be an excessive amount of it. I went with the burger. I don't have a single complaint. It was fantastic from the start! The meat was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The bun was amazingly fresh. The tomato and lettuce were just as fresh. It was literally a top 5 burger for me. It was that good. I ordered onion rings but they were out. I went with the fries but they were bit of a disappointment. I would have preferred hand cut fresh fries, they were basic frozen and lacked flavor and seasoning. Overall though we had a great experience! We will come back. With a few minor issues this could be our new spot. read more

Fantastic GALentines at Brittingham's! Great, quick, and attentive service from our waitress Kylie. She was able to answer all my questions ( and trust me I ask lots) effectively. She guided me to choose the fantastic swordfish dish special! I was sad when I finished it was just so fresh and tasty. My friend had the salmon teriyaki which she stated was flavored perfectly and the teriyaki was not to overwhelming. We we went on Thursday ( they offer 1/2 priced bottles) and got a whole bottle of wine for and two entrees all for $50, which I believe is a great deal! The atmosphere was great not to loud with live music playing in the back . The tables were decorated cute with Hersey kisses and we were each given fresh roses! We will definitely be back cuz there so much on the menu I wanted to try! read more

This is a great place to come and relax after walking along the Wissahickon Valley Park trails. We were also able to sit outside with our dog, and they were awesome about it. I have been joining friends here for many years to hear Irish music. The music is always great, and the beer list is very good. The free valet parking is so nice, and the waitstaff has always been very good. That said, the food is a disappointment, and despite menu changes it has not improved. High prices, c'mon no bowl of soup is worth $10. We keep coming back for the music, but to have a table we have to eat. The fish tacos are okay, the fancy bacon in the BLT is too tough to bite through! Oh well, the place is always packed when we go, so lots of people must enjoy the food. If you want a table for First Friday, and you are only 2 people be aware that you will be placed in a group table facing your date (so you have to shout to be heard). Recently a couple tried to "trade" with their neighbor and the newer lady manager chewed them out publicly for trying to sit next to their date. read more
