My friends and I love this place. Been going for years. We love the happy hour drinks and appetizers. Can't wait to go back.

They have reopened, and as much as I have loved this place for over 20 years, I have to say it was a dumpster fire. Evidently they have only been reopened for two weeks, and at least based on our experience, they weren't prepared. We were one of the first tables in the restaurant at 5:15, but didn't get our appetizer until 630, then our actual entrées until almost 715. In the meantime, the restaurant filled up and other tables that sat well after us were receiving their meals and even their checks before we even got our food. The cauliflower appetizer was exceptional, but the entrées were not good. The Java pork chop, which used to be the Java pork loin, was very overcooked, and dry. The wife's crabcakes were also overcooked and bland. Other tables around us were also upset at the wait and a few of them were given incorrect entrées. Our waiter Alex was awesome, but could only do so much. The remodel is nice, but it's gonna take a few more weeks at least for the kinks to get smoothed out. I'm still gonna return, just because of the Goodwill they have accumulated over the last couple of decades. I think they'll get back to their rightful spot. read more

Although it hardly seems possible, it was April 2009 when I first paid a call to 333 Belrose. Interestingly enough, however, not a great deal appears to have changed in the interim. Chef/proprietor Carlo deMarco, a Villanova native, is still turning out top-notch contemporary American fare with international flair in a lively yet decidedly sophisticated setting. And, although Mr. deMarco's seasonally changing menu continues to offer his patrons exciting new possibilities, there are still a number of old favorites that I remember from my first go round. The inordinately tender yet crispy Salt Pepper Calamari with beguiling pumpkinseed aioli, for example, still makes a fabulous starter, as does the Butter Lettuce Salad garnished with Danish blue cheese, candid walnuts, shaved apple, and finished with an outstanding Champagne vinaigrette. Entrée-wise, as I mentioned in my initial review, pork still plays a major role. The Java Pork Tenderloin (pictured) with smashed yams, mango salsa, black bean sauce, and maple jus remains a house favorite, with the Grilled Pork Chop accompanied by down-home andouille-spiked mac & cheese finishing a close second. Our most recent visit, however, was somewhat different in scope, as my dining partner and I decided to take advantage of Main Line Today Restaurant Week. Which meant that though our menu choices were limited to three apps, three entrées, and two desserts, the price - $39.95 per person (plus beverages, tax & gratuity) for a three-course dinner - and the overall quality of the cuisine were more than sufficient compensation. To start things off, I chose the Spicy Asian Brussels Sprouts (pictured) embellished with peanuts, shishito peppers (shishito peppers are small mild peppers from Japan with an average of one out of ten being on the hot side), and sweet chili sauce. Brussels sprouts are just one of those vegetables... you either love them or hate them, there seems to be no middle ground. I am most definitely of the former persuasion. And, to the kitchen's credit, the sprouts were perfectly prepared... Not too crunchy; not too mushy. Just right. My only quibble is that the word "spicy" is really something of a misnomer, as there was infinitely more sweetness than spice at work here - indeed, describing the dish as "cloying," at least from my palate's perspective, would not be considered hyperbole. My dining partner's Butternut Squash Bisque (pictured), on the other hand, was spot-on perfect, a simply superb rendering of this traditional favorite. The squash is beautifully seasoned with ginger and touch of curry, then combined with sautéed onion and submerged in copious amounts of apple cider. Once puréed, hot cream is added, followed by a bit of sour cream, cinnamon, and brown sugar. The flavor is rich, complex, and incredibly addictive. Definitely distinctive and not to be missed. Entrée possibilities included the above-noted Java Pork Tenderloin, Chef's Choice Chicken Entrée, and the Simply Grilled Salmon (pictured). On any other occasion, I have no doubt, one or both of us would have gone right for the pork... But on this particular evening, for some reason, we were both in the mood for salmon, which turned out to be an absolutely fabulous choice. The fish was a beautifully prepared - just as our server suggested and we specified - medium rare. But not only was it simply grilled, but also simply presented with a house salad of mixed greens, goat cheese, toasted sesame seeds, cucumber, tomato, bell pepper, crispy wontons, and utterly seductive orange-ginger vinaigrette. And that lovely orange-ginger concoction proved to be not only a marvelous dressing for the salad but also a wonderful complement to the salmon, transforming a relatively straightforward dish into something sublime. Dessert choices were especially limited and pretty basic - either Warm Bread Pudding (pictured) or Flourless Chocolate Cake. I freely admit to being something of a chocoholic, but flourless chocolate cake - at least for my palate - is just too much of a good thing. Just too much of too much. I opted instead for the bread pudding... as did my dining partner, who is not a particular fan of chocolate. ... And, once again, this proved to be a most fortuitous choice, as the bread pudding succeeded in surpassing all expectations. Rich, creamy, and calorically out-of-sight, it added a decidedly decadent note to a perfectly delightful evening at table... And, as I mentioned above, the price was right. read more

Great service, our waiter constantly checked on us and refilled our water without asking. Started with the mussels (broth was delicious), nachos (fresh chips and don't get soggy) and brussel sprouts (had an asian twist to it) which were amazing. Entrees were octopus salad, pork chops (which was cooked great, very juicy and seasoned well) and the steak special. Ambiance is good for a date night or a business meeting and there's a bar area if you just want to snack on appetizers. Now that I got my birthday dinner experience out of the way, I may as well drop a review for the spot that delivered an incredible birthday dinner experience for my mom! When it comes to birthday dinners and good occasions for my fam the main task is to find a good foodie spot within a fairly accessible spot in the burbs. This usually proves easy and has led to a lot of good spots within the Main Line, but for this year I wanted to switch it up and find a good spot a bit further away without going into KOP territory. The reviews for 333 Belrose really made it stand out as a good dinner and bar spot on a less traveled part of Radnor. And, as Nina said, it led to a solid 4 star destination. 333 Belrose is a gem of a spot that's partly tucked away on an unassuming street. But once you do and pull into the lot you pull into a solid bar & restaurant that doubles as a good happy hour destination and great dining location. As a birthday dinner crew we didn't do the Happy Hour portion, but I'm definitely making note to come for some discounted bar snacks and drinks. The beer list had a well rounded assortment of craft and familiar brews, and the cocktail menu had some good spins on some classics. For appetizers we absolutely enjoyed the short rib cheesesteak eggrolls with a good blend cooper sharp and white queso, and the impressive spicy Asian brussel sprouts with shishito peppers and a giner lime aioli. With well rounded seafood options like Chilean sea bass w/ saffron & spinach risotto and pan seared rainbow trout with roasted brussel sprouts and meat dishes like java pork tenderloin and prime NY strip steak it was a plentiful menu that was tricky to order from. But I was drawn by their lamb shank and it was a huge & meaty masterclass of fall off the bone goodness that came with a puree of creamy goodness. The decor is tired and could definitely use a refresh. Our food took over an hour to arrive and when it did my pork loin and husbands pork chop were both totally overcooked to the point of being hard and dry and with minimal seasoning. The seasonal cocktails are always wroth trying. Price is high, but worth every penny IMO. I have tried most of their menu from bar to dinner to specials, and I found you can never go wrong with the following: Seafood Entrees - Phenomenon! Unlike most place that have 1 fish and 1 shrimp for seafood, they have 3 kinds of fish plus crabcakes, shrimps and octopus dishes. I've tried their salmon, swordfish and trout. Fresh, flaky and cooked just right. Pulled Pork - However you want it - sandwich, slider, nacho, etc. - it's DELICIOUS! Salads - Their salads on special are Fantastic! I love that they always put a spin on the flavors to create new palates each time. The Charred Octopus & Arugula Salad on the regular menu is my default when there isn't a salad special. Remember, 333 Belrose's name is its address. It's quite close to the Radnor train station, if you stil need help. Pull up and head in (if it's crowded, the lot overflows across the street). Take a seat in their swanky dining room, or head in to their side bar - decked in warm woods - and take advantage of their happy hour specials. If you're hungry, get their mussels; they're huge. Don't forget their Applewood bacon grilled cheese panini. Wish it was in a more traditional sandwich form, but the marriage of bacon and melted cheese is always a Good Idea, and 333 Belrose's version doesn't disappoint. This small jewel of a place has a nice, secluded terraces during warmer climates, but also inviting indoor dining. This is a place I would describe as "old fashioned', not in a pejorative way, but more as a reflection of the good family restaurant we associate with times 1-2-3 decades ago. Did you know Radnor was the setting for the classic 1940 film, "The Philadelphia Story"? Amazing what you learn on Wikipedia. When Cary Grant shoved Katharine Hepburn's face to the floor in the opening minutes (...back when domestic abuse was considered "comedy"), I guess that was Radnor even though it was more likely the MGM backlot in Culver City. You probably think I'm sharing that bit of movie trivia because I'm stalling. And you'd be right because my memory of 333 Belrose didn't make it into my subconscious. That's not to say it was bad. After days of family time and a lot of home cooking due to this stupid corona virus, we decided to splurge on a mainline favorite dinner. We were not disappointed. In fact having a few of my 333 Bellrose favorite dishes was very comforting. We ordered (3) Java pork tenderloins dinners, yummy short rib smoky chili, wonderful hearts of palm Caesar salad with yummy creamy dressing and cherry tomatoes. The juicy pork tenderloin was cooked to perfection as always. FYI it's OK for pork to be slightly pink in the middle. I really loved the smashed yams with mango salsa and Black bean sauce that comes along with this meal. Thank God we ordered enough because we had no leftovers. The chili appetizer was very good little bit too spicy for me but my husband was thrilled with the level of heat. We all truly loved the fresh Caesar salad. Thankfully they gave us enough dressing to make this a wonderful treat. If you're stuck home with the corona virus, hurry up an order from 333 Belrose. I picked up my order at the restaurant. We returned for the first time since the pandemic and found the same delightful ambiance. Food was a mixed bag, we'll go again as it could have been an off night. My flatiron steak came Pittsburgh rare, when I requested medium rare I didn't send it back as it was sliced in a delicious sauce. My sides were excellent. My wife loved her salmon entre, but her risotto side was tasteless tabs not edible. $12 for a side salad of mixed greens pricey and a $3 charge for rocks on the side of a $9 martini odd. Surprisingly busy for lunch on a Monday; I would definitely make a reservation! I got the pulled pork sandwich and my mom got shrimp and grits. Both were really good. The bbq pulled pork was the best I've had in the area. Not much fat on it and really good sauce. I definitely recommend. We got the cream brûlée for dessert, which was okay. Probably try something else for dessert next time. Our waiter was very nice and put a candle on the brûlée for my mom's birthday. We spent about an hour and fifteen minutes enjoying lunch. Came here for Valentine's dinner. We sat in their indoor outdoor area. I was apprehensive but it was super warm and cozy and the music was good. They had some specials which I always enjoy from an establishment because it means they offer items every so often. We ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls which were yummy. A short walk from Al H's best friends house we strolled to Belrose on a cool spring night. To go roadies from the house cut the chill air and added to the anticipation of dinner. Belrose is a cute cozy spot with a skinny bar area leading to a series of smaller dining rooms. We were greeted by seemingly 1/2 :the neighbors who were already there having a drink or tieing into dinner. The Main Line can be a " haves and have lots " scene but the Belrose crowd was 50 somethings out for a nice night out. Our 6 was seated immediately and our waiter was ready to take our myriad of drink orders all of which came with special instructions. Think James Bond " shaken not stirred" on steroids. All arrived as ordered! The bartender even had his mad scientist hat on mixing up a great one off drink for our host RBC. Apps were great from mussles to brussels and the comfort food with a flair entre's were terrific. My pork chop was tender and juicy. All around high marks from the table. Dessert plus Port for me wrapped up a fabulous night with great friends. Forgot the posers at Bistro Trendo on the corner of Hoi and Polloi, hit Belrose for a fine time on the Main Line. Oh baby oh baby! This spot has been on my radar for months now and I finally got here last night. This place is artistic and confident yet hip and authentic all at the same time. The staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable. In fact the waiter was so good that I barely remember him (in a good way). Let's start with the appetizers. I could have ordered one or two of each and been a satisfied guest. The salads also looked tasty. Pair one of the salads with a crisp rose and game over. The choice main dish of the evening was flat iron steak cooked medium rare paired with fingerling potatoes/blue cheese comb and Brussel sprouts grilled to perfection. Quality ingredients treated with respect and well prepared. Service is friendly and efficient. We had the smoked chicken quesadilla to start, followed by a Mahi-Mahi on creamed corn and saffron risotto and crab cakes. The produce seemed to be fresh and the mahi mahi was perfectly cooked - seared on the outside, succulent on the inside. Crabcakes had little filler and tasted good. Great experience. Stopped on the way to the airport after a business trip in Bethlehem. Was intially disappointed in the friendliness of the hostess, but this waa quickly resolved by the tremendous waiter. I was planning on ordering a small appetizer. However, after reading some of the reviews at the table, I decided to venture off into uncharted territory. I ordered the wings as an appetizer. See the photo. Very well cooked with a savory bbq sauce. Only gripe is that it was a bit underseasoned. Otherwise, a solid choice. I next requested the "special". Tonight I was treaed to striped bass with broccoli, crab meat and mashed potatoes. Being a Floridian, i was skeptical that the seafood in PA would be this fresh. Wow. Great flavors and presentation. In an industry riddled with short staff, long wait times, and lower standards, you wouldn't know that dining at 333. It was our first time, however I'll admit I've been wanting to try this restaurant for years. It's off the beaten path, not a part of the "foodie" Wayne that everyone had come accustomed to. But I think that's the charm. We split the cheesesteak egg rolls, which were delicious. We both had the two pork dishes, which did not disappoint. But overall the service, the time between ordering and drinks/food was delivered was exceptional. I realized quickly that I need not order my next drink immediately after being served my first. I really enjoy Belrose. I find that the food and service are very consistent. The menu has seasonal changes to keep things fresh and updated. The scope of the menu is varied enough even for those with narrow palates. There is traditional NYStrip to trout to pork chops. I also enjoy the black bean soup app. Watch for 1/2 price wine nights. This has the potential to be a great restaurant. I have not been for a couple of years and it was great to see a couple of vegetarian appetizers. However, no vegetarian entrees - when I asked the waitress she said "They could throw a few vegetables on a plate" and she said she would ask the chef. When she came back to take our orders she had clearly forgotten to ask the chef and said they could do a pasta primavera. I don't think it too much to ask for a mainline restaurant to have at least one imaginative vegetarian option. Come on you can try a little harder - if you can't I can happily suggest some great dishes that carnivores and vegetarians will like. Went again and waiter said the same. He offered vegetable pasta, stuffed tomato or vegetable tacos. I opted for the vegetable pasta and my wife had the stuffed tomato. The vegetable pasta was the same curly pasta they use for the Mac and cheese mixed with vegetables (carrots, green beans and spinach) oily and bland. My wife's stuffed tomato was just stuffed with back beans. Again bland and uninspiring. While the chef clearly doesn't do vegetarian good ( but the Brussels sprout appetizer is great) it is not too difficult to do a tasty Thai vegetable curry with jasmine rice, a vegetable tagine, veg lasagne or a tofu based dish. We had a fabulous Saturday evening dinner here with friends for a big birthday celebration. There were many pros, and just a few cons. PROS: 1) Super sweet waitress. I loved her. So talkative and friendly. 2) Awesome food. We loved the calamari and roasted Brussels sprouts apps, the bread was warm with soft butter, the meals we had were fantastic. Fiancé got a special - steak with ratatouille and risotto, I had the salmon on the menu. Other favorites at the table - the gnocchi and the pork. 3) Good cocktails. I also had sparkling wine, which I always love. 4) Warm atmosphere, nice restrooms, beautiful local art included in the decor. CONS: 1) We stopped getting refills on water after a while. Not sure why, with such a great waitress. They were busy, I suppose! 2) Our fellow patrons seemed a bit...judgmental of the fun we were having. We weren't drunk or really being that loud, but every time we burst out laughing, we were getting side eye from the grey haired Main Line double date behind us and the couple next to us. Maybe bad luck? Overall, we'd be back! They even offer a rewards program (which we did not sign up for - who has room in their wallet for another card?!) Salmon is one of those seafood items that has such a strong flavor that I like it to be well-seasoned. The salmon here did the trick with a deliciously spicy Cajun remoulade. I also liked the cheddar grits and I loved the blue cheese-walnut-apple salad with that tasty champagne vinaigrette. James, my bartender, is a good man who does his job well and knows what he's talking about when it comes to movies and food. This place is well worth a visit. read more

I was here with a large wedding party and was not disappointed! The menu I had was fixed so I can't say too much about the menu but from what we had it was all very good. The table was presented with a phenomenal cheese and meat plate. I think this was my favorite part of the entire meal. They presented three different cheeses with a variety of crackers and bread for each cheese. For my entree I went with the salmon. The salmon was very light and tasty as it was dressed with some olive oil and mixed veggies. I would recommend this if your looking for something light. The dessert we had a creme brûlée. It was also really great but didn't stand out from any others I have had before. This place is a wine bar too and had a fantastic selection of red and white wines. On one recent weekend the stars aligned and I visited here for a Friday happy hour and also Saturday dinner with the lovely wife. This gave me a good perspective on this very nice property. These folks have earned a solid 4 stars from Yelp so you should expect to have a fine experience and I believe that you will. Let's talk about parking. They have a private lot but it can't accommodate a busy evening. My advice is to not even try and park directly across the street. It's easy and a thirty second walk. On a Friday at happy hour the place was packed. Expect a wide range of ages from twenty something's all the way up to the fifties and sixties. This is not a sports bar although there is a TV. This is a high-end bar where you meet friends to have an adult libation or two or three. Happy Hour specials are solid. They have drink specials and half price appetizers. I was drinking a decent house merlot for $4. The food is a big step up from typical bar food. Try the French fries with garlic & parsley. Or how about fried pickles with sriracha mayo? By the way, sriracha is a traditional Thai chili sauce that really adds a kick to the mayo. This is a very nice up-scale happy hour and it attracts a nice crowd. Around the corner at the Radnor Hotel is the Glenmorgan Bar & Grill. They are after the same business and offer very similar happy hour drink and appetizer specials. If you are at one of these places you will often hear folks comparing experiences. So flash forward to the next night and the wife and I stop in for dinner. We had open table reservations and we were seated right on time. The place was packed. The outside of the building looks very traditional so the inside might surprise you. It's adventurous and eclectic with some interesting art work. First impressions made us smile. Second impressions dimmed our smiles just a bit. Out table was very small and that was a problem as our dinner progressed. Seating was tight. Expect to love your neighbor here. I could have reached over with my fork and snagged a scallop from the couple next to us. Also the acoustics need some work. This place is noisy. If you are looking for a quiet romantic evening you are in the wrong place. Let's talk about the adult libations. We had a total of five between us. They were well made and garnished, beautifully served, and tasty. There is a very nice specialty drink list. Expect to pay $10 or more for them. With a little alcohol our smiles were getting bigger! Throughout the night our service was well above average. Everyone from the hostess to our wait staff was pleasant and competent. We were hoping that the food would be amazing and we were not disappointed. For those with some fine dining experience this is clearly a New American menu. We choose to split two appetizers. A baby beet salad with arugula and a light citrus dressing was delicious. Our second appetizer was Filet Mignon Tacos and they were incredible! The wonderful aroma of prime beef wafted through the room as our waitress delivered them. Every bite was a bust flavor. Expect to pay $10-$14 for most of the appetizers. My entrée was a strip steak that was cooked perfectly and tender. It was served on a bed of nicely cooked Broccoli Rabe. It was accompanied by a small casserole of scalloped potatoes. My wife enjoyed a beautiful piece of fish served on a bed of couscous. She raved about it! Most of the entrees here will be in the $25-$35 range. Our food here was 5 stars. Our overall experience was diminished a bit by the tight seating and noise but we still had a wonderful time. When we come back, and we surely will, we'll try a weekday when it may be a little quieter. read more
