I have been scrambling to find a new laundry pick-up delivery service as I'm A) a busy…read moreprofessional, B) living in a 4th floor walk-up, C) not the beneficiary of any type of laundry cart (as if I'd have room for one anyway) & D) a very skinny, frail woman who can't lift a bag of laundry and cleaning stuff all by herself from this 4th floor walk-up to get out of there and get clothing back in one peace. A person in my circumstances NEEDS laundry pick-up/delivery without castigation or harassment. I called this place based on the positive Yelp reviews to inquire about this service. They told me their minimum was 30 pounds. Well, I don't have a scale to weigh a heavy bag on; I simply know when the bag is full and hard for me to maneuver. I mentioned my plight, they told me they only accept cash, would weight the laundry when they had it and would call me to tell me how much it was (as I bank with a credit union that has free ATMs in limited locations so I'd need some time to get cash out of the bank since they don't take credit cards). Days after my laundry pick-up (with no word on when I'd get my clothes back or how much this order will cost), I have to arrange to get my stuff back so I can have clean underwear for the next week. They inform me of the price then & tell me I have to be home right at that instant with cash on hand to get my laundry, telling me of no other time when I could do it. They claimed I was trying to finagle for a special trip for a 12 pound load of laundry and were trying to have me walk 8 blocks to get all that stuff and then try getting it up that 4th floor walk-up with zero help from anyone while I was merely trying to figure out when I could get my stuff back and when they were in the area to drop it off. They did a great job in handling my laundry and folding my socks (hence not getting a 1 star) review but when I tried getting this done again, they basically discriminated against single professionals. I also don't like that lack of credit card acceptance so now I have to see about another dedicated laundry service so I can get this done once a month.

The next day the laundry is picked up without my notice until I got home and thought It was the other company. Then I got a message from HamperApp. Stating that Sara took the liberty to illegally charge my account for a new order she placed for me after I cancelled. The name of this place is Golden Rainbow, after some observation on my walk home this evening, not Jen & W as previously listed. Anyway, Golden Rainbow (you can tell how much I care about it, considering I originally reviewed it under the wrong name) is the only place I will take my laundry. 1.) it is across the street from me 2.) there is always an open machine 3.) they are very nice 4.) you can leave your laundry & don't have to worry some stranger is going to run off w/one of your socks 5.) it is across the street from me 6.) they always have quarters 7.) it is only $1.50 to wash & about the same to dry 8.) they just added more washers 9.) they make it possible to catch up on all the Spanish Channel soaps you've been missing while at work Did I mention it is right across the street from me? And although proximity is the only reason I started coming here, I come back, week after week, because I think the owners are nice & I have yet to have a bad experience. The one complaint is they don't accept credit cards & the dry-cleaning can take awhile. Now if only I could give my grocery store four stars (but it is terrible), I would feel like I really accomplished something tonight.

Woman working at the time was helpful, she answer any questions I had and was able to provide me change for laundry. Large wash machine is $6 per cycle, small is $3.50. I fit two weeks of clothing in the large machine and could still had room for a decent amount more. Wash took about 23 minutes, which is pretty quick. Dryers are based on quarters put in. Large machine is 0.25/4mins and regular are 0.25/6mins. A regular machine is pretty huge so I'd suggest using one of those. Although I went early Sunday morning, there are a ton of machines so I don't foresee and issue of having to wait. Downside is that there is no WiFi or a really any place to sit comfortably.

Over the past several months, I have brought my business here--paying their premium, higher-than-average prices for laundry--simply because I wanted to invest back into our small community. I have been here to wash my comforters and the dryers take a long time to dry. They only allow washer and dryer and you are unable to just dry which does make sense for cleanliness and sanitary reasons. I have also sent the laundry here for wash and fold on one occasion. The clothes were folded okay but not very small like a lot of the other laundromats in the area. They did a lot of construction in the past couple of years as the front was really run down. The employees do stand outside a lot smoking. Unfortunately, a recent experience showed me that this establishment does not share that same neighborly care. I was walking a few blocks home carrying an incredibly heavy, empty terra-cotta planter. Exhausted, I stopped in to politely ask the woman and gentleman working if I could leave the planter for just a few minutes while I ran two blocks away to retrieve my wagon. I explicitly explained that I am a local neighbor, that the planter was simply too heavy to carry further, and that I would be incredibly grateful for the brief help. Instead of a helpful or even a polite response, I was met with a harsh attitude and questioned as to why I needed to leave it. While I understand that businesses have liability policies, there is a way to communicate boundaries with human kindness. Instead, I was met with a complete lack of empathy and compassion. It is incredibly disheartening to realize that an establishment is happy to take your money for overpriced services, but lacks the basic decency to show a neighbor a moment of grace or compassion when they are struggling. A neighborhood business should be a part of the community, not just a place of greed. I will no longer be supporting this laundromat, and I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Laundry supplies can be bought from behind the counter or, for $1, a loads worth of detergent, bleach, or fabric softener from a vending machine. Dryers are also nice with low, medium, and high heat settings. These will give you 6min per 25¢. Dry cleaning, alterations, and wash and fold are available behind the counter as well for reasonable prices. Facility overall is kept very clean and so is the bathroom. Plenty of folding space and laundry carts are also available. Air conditioning also makes it bearable for the summer.
