When I discovered the damage before leaving store, employee takes photos but owner insists I take the day off come in again the next morning before noon (even though the store is supposedly open until 6 pm)! I have been using 58 Laundry & Cleaners for 5 years. Lily and team are very professional, consistent / transparent in charging and are accommodating when the customer is in a pinch time wise! If you live nearby, they also offer free delivery if you just ask - my advice is to coordinate in advance to get your preferred time for drop off or pick up. Her greed took over and she preferred to lose a an 11 year client rather than put hand to her pocket and give me a token of sympathy. She blamed it on some management company (she's the boss). I recently moved to Manhattan for an internship and was surprised that self-service laundromats are seemingly non-existent in this part of town. So I gave in to having someone do my laundry for me. Fei's was the first place I tried since its location is convenient, but I'm sorry to say that I don't think I'll be coming back here now that I've tried Triple Eight Cleaners over on E. 51st . First time I came here for the regular wash-dry-fold service, I was well aware that the minimum weight for the service was 8 lbs. Unfortunately I was just one pound shy of this minimum, so I had to run back home (which fortunately is only two blocks away) and grab a couple more things to be washed. The receipt the guy gave me said my laundry would be ready for pick-up after 4 p.m. I arrive at 4:15 p.m. to pick up my laundry, and... it's not ready. So I have to go back AGAIN to really pick up my laundry, and when I go home, I find I'm missing a sock. BLAH. OK, first time wasn't so great, but I decided to give the place a second chance. I drop off my laundry in the morning before work, and though my load was only 7.5 lbs. this time, he let it slide, didn't say anything about it at all actually, and let me just pay the minimum $8.50 for 8 lbs. Thank God. Pick-up went smoothly this time, and I was able to get my clean clothes around after work the same day. Unfortunately, one of my jackets was still noticeably damp AND I was missing one of the bra pads from one of my sports bras. This place was OK, but I hate that something was missing from my laundry every time I got it back. If I'm going to be paying for laundry service at all, I want to know that everything I handed off to them will be there and clean and that it'll be 100% dry when I get it back. Because honestly, I'd rather do it myself than take it to a laundry service. At least if something is missing I know it's my own fault, and I can go search for the missing item(s) in the washer/dryer. read more

This place is located right b/w work and my subway home. Being equally fed up with ironing my own shirts and paying 3.50 to have them dry cleaned I decided to try their laundry service. I was a little nervous when I dropped my shirts off as I was not sure the woman working there quite understood what I wanted, and was downright shocked that I didn't need them back in a rush. When I returned to pick up the shirts, they looked great, the younger man working their was very nice and at 1.90 each its pretty much half the cost of dry cleaning. This will certainly become my regular place. They also have dry cleaning and alterations, neither of which I have yet tried. read more

DO NOT USE THIS DRY CLEANER! They ruined $1,000 worth of my dresses. They were shrunk and ruined. Whatever chemical they used took the paint off my $300 dress zipper. I tried to go in and have them make it right which they did not do. They had me try them on while the manager Lily pulled at them to try to make them fit and deny liability. Lily told me I maybe gained COVID weight which is why they don't fit. This is the worst business I have ever dealt with. They are liable to cover 10x processing which they are not doing. They are only willing to refund me $43, which does not even cover what I cost to dry clean. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR ITEMS. read more

I have been giving my laundry for a year to this place. Regular customer - despite them losing my clothes AND giving me other people's shirts on several occasions accidentally in my load (which I returned to them) AND giving dry cleaning back wit stains still on them. This time , we got a full load of laundry back that was not ours, I called the laundry place (I spoke with Hunga) to tell him about the accidental mistake so that I could return those clothes.... he told me there is no way he made that mistake and that we were in the wrong for saying the clothes were not ours! He asked to see the receipt which I thought I had trashed already. He said without receipt we were wrong about the fact that the laundry place made any mistake and that he will not take the clothes back, let alone try to return them to their rightful owner.... Thankfully I searched and found the receipt and gave it to him directly in person - and EVEN then he was arguing about the clothes and trying to prove how the receipt itself didn't 100 prove the clothes were not ours... I have no idea why this man is allowed to work here... If I could give them zero stars, I would. But unfortunately, I can't. You want to go to a dry cleaner that you can trust won't lose your NICE clothes or give you some strangers FULL load. However, Mistakes happen - but the least he could do was admit his mistake, and simply take the clothes back that I was ready to return. The collar is supposed be ironed along with crease; instead, it looks like a machine just flattened it such that when worn it looks really sloppy. I went there constantly when I lived in the area and always had a good experience. Staff is very kind, respectful, and skilled. Never had an issue with any sort of clothing. Turnaround times were quick, and delivery to my apartment was free. They even kept a spare set of my keys so they could return directly into my walk-up. Absolutely horrible. Upon my third visit at this place, I can say it was nothing short of terrible. First off, the person behind the counter has an extremely difficult time with English and typically misunderstands what your saying. For example, if you ask when you might get something back, she'll incomprehensibly mumble something, and than ask you to pay in advance. This in and of itself is a sham, as its hard to pay for something when the results haven't been provided. Anyhow, getting back to my recent visit at this place.... I dropped a suit on Friday, and was asked by the gentleman behind the counter if I would like to pick it up on Saturday or Monday morning. I knew I didn't need my suit for the weekend, and told him Monday would be grand. I specifically asked him what time my suit would be ready on Monday, to which he replied, 7:30 a.m. I said that would be great, as can I come to their store right before work, and have it ready-to-wear for Monday. Because of his assurance, I actually wore jeans for comfortablity, thinking my suit- and in-turn his word would be accurate. Needless to say, I was absolutely wrong. Upon entering their establishment promptly at 7:30, I was greeted by the non-English speaking woman. Confused by my desire to have my "supposedly" ready suit, she told me to wait. I said no problem, to have her come back and ask me if this was the cleaner's I brought the suit to. Now I was confused, as she held the Fei's cleaner ticket indicating as such. We went back and forth with this interaction for about 3 full minutes, and potentially feeling some mercy for me, the other woman (who speaks slightly better English) came from the back. Surprisingly, all she could come up with mirrored what her colleague said: "Is this the cleaner's you came to?" Again upon receiving confirmation of said fact, she proceeded to look for my suit. To no surpise at all, IT WASN'T THERE. Despite my disappointed demeanor, and lack of suit, she couldn't seem to hardly care for my plight. I work in a very conservative environment, where not wearing a tie can lead to some form of reprimand. Now hear I come dallying in with my jeans on. I try, and re-try to explain my situation to this brass, indifferent woman, but each explanation fades further into an abyss of annoyance- she just doesn't care for my situation. Finally, she tells me she will call me once my suit is ready. This magical call comes at 10:30 am, 3 full hours after I was supposed to have my suit. Luckily, my boss wasn't in, and I was able to curb our weekly Monday-morning meeting. (I wonder her reaction to me wearing jeans). Upon getting to the cleaner's right after this call, instead of the suit being right in front for my convenience, it took them almost 5 minutes to find it. The kicker- they brought out the wrong suit. After much debate over the correct one, she finally re-looks the ticket number and realizes her mistake. Finally, after nearly 10 minutes in the store I get my suit. I go into the fitting area to change, and upon changing- gather the rest of my belongings. Needless to say, because of overt multiple errors on the cleaner's part, I hardly expected to pay for this suit cleaning. In fact, as good businesss practice, I thought they would offer me a free (or at the very least deeply discounted) cleaning for my next cleaning. Such wasn't the case. She told me to pay the full $10 for the suit, and shamefully requested I pay in cash. I told her how indecent, and pitiful it was for her to charge me at all, to which she replied (literally): "I DON'T CARE!" All I could do was pay her the money, and walk out of the store begrieved. I didn't care, much less did I have the time, to get into an extended conversation about proper business ethics and the mores that are so attached to customer service. From the looks of things, and as she said, she just DIDN'T CARE. Moral of the story, under no circumstances visit this cleaner. Their sub-par cleaning effort, is no match for the rude, indifferent service you will receive. With a plethora of cleaners in mid-town, I look forward to taking my business elsewhere. read more

We use this place as our regular weekly laundry service, as there are no facilities in our building. Fei is always cheerful and knows us by name. GREAT customer service. Our washing is always done promptly, properly, and if we have any special instructions they are always followed. Dry cleaning is the same deal. Yes, its a bit pricey- but thats the neighborhood. There are no laundromats, and having done my research I can tell you that the prices they charge are absolutely average across the board for the area. I cannot emphasize enough how professional, friendly, and helpful Fei is. We're lucky to have her nearby! read more

Update: I caved and went back. It's too convenient. And I actually haven't been sorry. They're fast and I haven't had any other disasters. I'm still not impressed with the below experience, but convenience won out, and they do a fine job. Here's the thing: I really wanted to like this place. It's super convenient to my apartment/office, and the price is right...or so I thought. The first time I used them it was for dry cleaning, and I dropped off two gray dresses. When I returned for pickup, I was given one gray dress and one (hideous) green dress. I kindly explained that one of them wasn't mine, only to have the guy ask me repeatedly if I'm sure. Yeah, I'm sure I would never buy a potato sack the color of infant poo. After the 56th time I told him I was SURE that the green abomination wasn't mine, he told me they would look for it and call me the next day (Saturday). They didn't. I returned on Monday and they had my dress. With a stain on it. So they kept it ANOTHER day. Thank god I didn't need it for an event or something. They got the stain out, I picked it up, and everything was fine. I've since used them twice for wash and fold, and have noticed both times that my total didn't really look on target with their advertised 85 cents a pound. This time, I had taken 22 pounds and my total was just under $22, so I inquired. In very incomprehensible English, the lady tried to tell me it was for sorting - I think - and then started pointing to the pricing sign. Long story short, no thanks to her, I figured out that their posted "minimum 8 lbs, 8.50" actually means that the first 8 pounds cost $8.50, and each pound thereafter is .85. I don't necessarily have a problem with that, but that's not what they advertise, or what they tell you when you ask how much their wash and fold is. The extra $1.20 per trip is pretty annoying if you're going with 10 pounds once a week. For the math haters, that makes it $1.02 a pound, not 85 cents. Which is substantial over the course of a year. But more importantly, it's not the advertised price, which I pointed out. And here's the deal breaker: they laughed. I calmly pointed out that their signage was incorrect, and why, and they laughed and rolled their eyes. I was happy to give this place another chance to earn my trust after a lost garment and a stain, but this was the last straw. I have used them 2 times for my towels and the ironing of my sheets, pillowcases, and cloth napkins. The napkins were folded at the end, the pillowcases need to be ironed again. I brought in my Canada goose jacket and they really messed up. The lining was black and the jacket was white and when I got it back the black color was all over the white. They didn't charge me for it but my $1000 jacket was ruined. They didn't compensate at all so I would not go here for jackets. read more
