Where to start! Arguably the best brunch I have had to date in Vancouver. A ton of places fall flat with their hollandaise but 33 Acres nailed it! You can either pick a waffle or biscuit for your Benedict. I went for the biscuit and my boyfriend went for the waffle. Who's is better is also up for debate.. both were amazing! The biscuit was thick and fluffy and the waffles were obviously fresh and light. It comes with fresh mashed avo, tomato, soft poached egg and a side of greens. I had a chance to pop into this place for a few minutes one day. I had a few tasters and then settled on a beer. I didn't care for most of the usual options and it wasn't until the lady pointed out the experimental beers that got me excited. I think if the experimentals become more mainstream then it can really up the quality of beers at this place. 33 Acres is where all the cool kids in Vancouver go to get their beer and brunch on (often simultaneously). This spot is consistently packed, and people often have to line up outside while they wait. When my SO and I showed up here on a Saturday afternoon, we were able to grab seats for two people without much trouble. When a couple of other people wanted to join us two hours later, they had to wait for about 15 minutes. There was a lot of turnover over the course of the afternoon, but I can't say how it is on weekend evenings. The beer at 33 Acres has improved by leaps and bounds since I last visited in late 2014. There's a lot of complexity and depth in the flavor now, which I found lacking a couple of years ago. Kudos! I'm always happy when a hipster haven also manages to turn out solid brews. 33 Acres of Sunshine, Coff33 (I swear that's how they spell it), and Euphoria were my choices of the day. The Coff33 was my favorite--sign me up for a coffee-flavored bock anytime! We did not order any food, but the stuff I saw on the tables around me looked and smelled delicious. Aside from the line, the other downside of this spot's popularity is that it can get kind of loud and difficult to hear one another while inside. 4 stars for the taste of the beer and cider! We had Euphoria, Nirvana and the regular Cider. The atmosphere is minimalist which I love but the seating is not the coziest. It was cold and rainy the night we went- people kept opening the door and not closing it- no one working shut the door which made it cold at times inside. I also received a glass with lipstick on it which I did not see until I was almost finished with my drink. I would definitely come back but I'll hope for a table in the far corner and check my glass well before drinking. read more

The guys at the cashier were very helpful. First time going there and they helped me recommend what was good depending on my taste and my interest. The beers were very unique with a very wide variety of taste. Their brunch meals were great too, I tried the avocado smash with an extra egg and it was great! The atmosphere was very laid back and is a very relaxing atmosphere to be in. The only slight issue is how the place gets really loud when the place is crowded. I'm LOVING this recent explosion of local microbreweries. We stopped by last night to check it out their newly opened tasting room and tried both beers they had on tap. A glass will set you back $3.50 (taxes included), and you can also do taster-sized orders of both. Of the two, the "Life" - a hybrid lager - was definitely the stand-out beer. Nice amber colour, light enough for a sunny patio, but full of flavor. We both polished off two glasses before we knew it. They also do pressurized growler fills for $11.50. This makes a big difference, because it increases the shelf-life of the beer a LOT (versus non-pressurized). I've heard mixed opinions about how long you can keep pressurized growlers - one brewery told me up to 3 weeks, but 33 Acres recommends you keep it no longer than a week. Also, unlike some breweries who insist you use their growlers only, 33 Acres will happily fill any growler, as long as they're clean and standard-sized! read more

Only downside to this place is the space and tables provided, considering it does get packed! Be ready to stand for a little with your beer, especially with a large group. Other than that, the beer was great! We stopped by after lunch for a quick flight of beers - comes with four beers to taste. People were friendly, staff was helpful with describing the different types of beers offered, and the place was super cute on the inside. I may be late to the party, but I finally got around to consuming some of 33 Acres' weekend brunch menu. The waffle selection anchors their brunch menu and have been lighting up my social media feeds every weekend for ages now, so I had to make the time to indulge bright and early one Saturday morning. I ordered my light and fluffy beer waffles topped with bacon and chocolate malt Earnest Ice Cream and it was unsurprisingly delightful and delicious. They were certainly tasty and comforting going down. I imbibed with a glass of 33 Acres of Nirvana (an India Pale Ale with pine and candied orange). It was a light yet crisp IPA with the right amount of hop and flavour to it. 33 Acres as a brand has quickly become a neighbourhood fixture for their seemingly simple yet sophisticatedly discerning tastes beyond just beer. I also got to try the brand new 33 Acres of Coff33 (a coffee bock collaboration brew with Matchstick Coffee featuring their coffee, cocoa, caramel, and dried fruit). I really dug the coffee taste nicely flavoured into the dark lager. These are all things that make the already very good beer even better. read more

Pains me to give a less than stellar review for this brewery which I love! Great beer; great brunch but the hands off approach to the brunch rush just does not work. For the second time today, we went in and had to wait while a table of assholes reserved extra empty seats/tables for their friends... while we waited number in hand having already ordered. FYI people - this is not a spot you can come and bogart seats at 11am on a Saturday waiting half an hour for your friends to roll up. I understand not wanting to deviate from the usual brewery seating arrangement but you guys are too popular for this approach to work at peak times. Also, your waffle specials are amazing but please bring back cartems! Also, I'm so happy to tip but Apple Pay was down today and the 25% auto-setting for debit/credit gratuities is nuts! I would normally tip 20% for full service but when the expectation is I fend for a table and grab my own water, drink refills etc ... come on. read more

Nice selection of beers & love the glassware jars. My girlfriend is very happy they added a cider and nice that it was not overly sweet. I am a fan of the IPAs and really enjoyed the 33 ACRES OF NIRVANA. And a great value for 24 oz of this fine brew. Food options are somewhat limited and great that it is on the food truck rotation. My only complaint is that there seem to be a lot of flies/bugs in the establishment and we got several bites when we stopped there last. read more

Came here for brunch with some friends and we were disappointed. We came here last week and the brunch looked so amazing that we thought we had to come back. I think they have a rotating menu. I had the poached eggs and toast and added an avocado. The bread was over toasted and I had a difficult time trying to cut into bite sized pieces. I don't think there was anything in particular that I would remember about it. If I didn't pay extra for the avocado it would have been a tragedy. The other thing we ordered was the avocado smash. It was quite a disappointment because you get one piece of toast, avocado spread and a few tomatoes. It's really small for what you pay for. It definitely won't full you up. The beer battered waffles didn't have much taste except for the maple syrup on and butter that was added to it. read more

Being a huge avocado-toast advocate, I couldn't wait to try this place after all the pics I had seen of it! We went around 11 on a weekday and easily found a spot but there's not that much seating and the place was pretty packed by noon. I ordered the "Loaded" which had a Nelson the Seagull toast with avocado, poached Egg, ham, and smoked cheddar, along with a side salad. The toast was a little hard to cut through but other than that the meal was delicious! It was the perfect portion so that I didn't leave feeling bloated or hungry, just happy! I didn't try any of the beer (i'm not a huge beer fan, whoops!) but if I did, this place would be the perfect location to do that. Definitely will be visiting again if I'm in the area! read more

This is hands down my favourite brewery in the city. I love all of the beers and the actual brewery is such an aesthetically pleasingly space. It's also light, clean, and just feels cheerful. My favourite beer has always been 33 acres of sunshine followed by 33 of nirvana. They also serve a great cup of espresso so it's a great spot to get some work done in the morning before it gets super busy for happy hour. Their pizza truck serves up great pies and they do have a small menu that offers delicious lunch options. Highly recommend checking this lovely brewery out! read more

The staff has never been particularly friendly but tonight was beyond being rude and unpleasant. Super busy mid afternoon on a Saturday - they even had a line up outside! Good beer, snack/food plates looked good too. Very noisy - the acoustics are poor in the tasting room and you really have a hard time hearing when it's packed in there. I loved 33 Acres five years ago. The food, the beer, the concept. There was innovation and quality. Five years later 33A has a ton of competition both in terms of beer and concept. Visiting this week I was disappointed most by the self-absorbed staff who seem to think that 33A is so cool they don't need to deliver on the basics of good service. Long waits. Nonchalant attitudes. And call me old fashioned but the words "please" or "thank-you" should be spoken to a customer at least once as they pay and depart. I have choice. I choose not to come here again. :( read more

When you first walk into this place, you're not sure if it's a brewery or a Froyo stop. Whitewashed with modern furniture, 33 Acres is miles away different from the usual warehouse style tasting rooms. With an eye on beer hopping around the city, decided against a sampler and ordered the 33 Acres of Vloer. Served in a tulip glass, the drink was incredibly strong (strategy fail), with hints of something that I don't have the palette for. Unfortunately all the seats were taken when we were there, despite not that big of a crowd - aesthetics took priority over seating. Their latest seasonal draft beer is delicious. It is the first one on the list, cream. We also bought some 6 packs home of their staple beer lists. The apparels sold in the store is hipster-likeable. The entire place is decked in white, very clean look. I would say one of the more appealing ones in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. You can't say no to hanging out with friends in 33 Acre on the weekend or after work. I haven't tried their brunch or coffee yet to comment on that part. Maybe next time! read more

We were hanging out at Wander Brewing in Bellingham and got to talking to a nice young Canadian couple about the burgeoning Vancouver beer scene. They insisted we try this place, so on our next visit to the big city we stopped by 33 Acres and were pleasantly surprised. The setting is austere, but I like that it looks different than other breweries (let's face it, they can all start to look the same after awhile); they have some great beers on tap, and you can get a sampler if you want to try them all. My favorite was 33 Acres of Life, their version of a red - it had a nice malty finish that I loved. Another one I liked was their seasonal black lager, 33 Acres of Darkness, perfect for a cold November day. We didn't get a chance to try their food, but it looked pretty promising and we'll definitely plan to order an appy or two on our next visit. read more

A bright, busy, and very sociable tap room that continues the Main Street brewery trend of great beer in great surroundings. The beers are pretty much all fantastic. The dark larger (think the love child from a sordid porter/larger affair) is the highlight. They also have (what I believe is) a colossal 24oz 'Jar' which for Vancouver is a rare treat indeed! Remember, Vancouver is the city where 'pint' isn't a measure but bar marketing slang for 'any beer in a glass ranging from 14 to 20oz'. Extra points go to the very good food menu, which for a brewery tap room is almost unheard of.., and of course, there's a food truck outside of the menu doesn't do it for you. read more

This really is my second office. Only a few blocks from my office, I love coming here after to work to unwind with my favourite beer sunshine, if I'm not sampling the flight (it's the only way I can handle euphoria without falling over). It's easy to do a bit of extra work here, or socialize as a group. I really do love 33 Acres, it has a special place in my heart as a local brewery, a beautiful space, super friendly staff but what I love most is the effort they put into supporting other local businesses and really getting behind the local movement. I can get a pretzel from Bestie here, alongside my scoop of ice cream from Earnest or even have some of the best bread and butter in town, from Nelson the Seagull. Also, there are really fun live bands specifically the Mexican duo. They add excellent ambiance to the place. Two more added bonuses: every Thursday 33 is part of the local brew pub hop, which runs a van service to take you between different local breweries in the city (an excellent way to spend a Thursday evening) along with a rotating supply of food trucks. The mac and cheese here is amazing. It's weirdly hard to find a restaurant in Vancouver that actually makes a proper mac that's creamy, cheesy, and tangy. Didn't expect to find a good one here. The mac at 33 Acres includes gruyere, bacon, and a breadcrumb topping, and you can really taste the cheese here. Not bland like I've had in so many other places. It's $8 which isn't bad and you get a decent size, and tbh I'll probably order two bowls next time because ya girl is serious about her mac. read more

Pleasant minimalist location. They have done well with the small place that they have. Onto the important stuff. The beer from my opinion has improved a lot since my last visit. They have a good variety to suit most beer tastes. The Nirvana IPA (the beer I ordered today) is smooth considering its abv of 8%, though it could certainly be hopier. 33 acres also has a good selection of coffees. Definitely worth a visit read more
