Sky Zone Dulles - AVOID…read more 1 Star Don't make my mistake. I bought tickets in mid-December for January 10th. Got my kids excited for weeks. Drove 45 minutes on a Saturday morning. The location is still under construction--not even close to opening. No email warning. No phone call. No notice of any kind. They were happy to take my money for a facility that didn't exist. The young attendant on site promised a refund. That was two weeks ago. I've contacted Sky Zone 6-7 times since then through their website and customer service line. Not one response. Not even an automated reply. So now I'm out out my Saturday, and watching my kids ask when we're going to the trampoline place I promised them. This isn't poor customer service. This is contempt for customers. Sky Zone sold tickets they knew they couldn't honor, then ghosted the people they took money from. If this is how they run their business before they open, imagine what happens when something goes wrong after. Save yourself the trouble. Find literally anywhere else to take your kids. Update: If Sky Zone responds and makes this right, I'll update this review. But I'm not holding my breath.

She definitely…read morehad fun on what was available, but there were a lot of things that were questionable to just plain bad. First, the price is ridiculous. $25 for an hour and half is just way too much for what is there. Staff ranged from disinterested to disappearing. There was no one supervising. Eventually I did see one staff member who wandered over to the basketball hops and began shooting baskets. Then there were the arcade crew who came in and started moving cubbies full of patron's belongings and moving the arcade machines while kids were running around, and left tools and dollies just sitting around. As for the equipment, whats there was fine- a climbing wall and foam pit, a ninja warrior style obstacle course, some basketball hoops, a soccer field and a trampoline area. If you look through past photos, you will various climbing equipment and a ropes course. The ropes course is gone entirely. The climbing equipment is gone, but they left the foam mats on the floor as a massive tripping hazard. The wipe out machine was non operational. The dodge ball courts were half taken apart. And the soccer field had a massive hole in the drywall right next to the field. Between the price, the lack of safety, the lack of attractions and the lack of staff who actually cared, I will not be back. I would be shocked if they stay in business much longer.

ZavaZone is the perfect place to let (older) kids loose and burn some energy during the weekends…read more My daughter is more on the timid side when it comes to large indoor gym spaces, but there were so many activities she was able to pick and choose according to her comfort level. From high ropes courses, to ninja warrior battles, giant slide, parkour, trampoline dodgeball, and battle beam there is lots of things to do. While this place is not the newest, it was very clean and well staffed. Make sure to get dippin' dots as a treat on your way out. We would definitely come back!

However, within minutes, it became clear that this facility is dangerously understaffed and falling apart. My biggest concern is safety. The few staff members present were completely checked out. Instead of monitoring the equipment, they were grouped together looking at their phones. This was terrifyingly apparent on the high ropes course. I watched a young boy climb a set of pillars nearly 15 feet in the air before the attendant finally looked up from her phone to intervene. In an environment like this, that level of negligence is unacceptable. The facility itself looks ok at first glance but is in disrepair. Large strips of rubber were falling off the warped wall, and the general maintenance is appalling. I've attached a photo of the stairs where the lighting fixtures have been ripped out, leaving exposed wiring hanging open right where kids are walking. Between the distracted staff and the crumbling infrastructure, this place is a liability. It feels unsafe and frankly needs to be shut down before a child gets seriously hurt. We will not be returning.

My biggest priority with any gym is safety, for obvious reasons. There is a gym in NoVA where the owner had to step down because of allegations of SA and yet his wife still runs the gym. I would encourage you to research the gym where your child attends and make sure there is no history of improper conduct. Gym America is a safe place for my daughter. That is the top reason why I love it. Of course, even with background checks, you never know, so I regularly check in with my daughter to see how she feels. And she loves Gym America and her coaches. The next reason I love Gym America is because they have responsive customer service. When I returned to the area after living abroad, I emailed a few gyms, and one of the big gyms in the area never even returned my email. Laura, the owner at Gym America, responded the same day. My daughter is now a Level 4 gymnast. One of the things I didn't know until the last few years is that there are two competitive tracks: Xcel and JO. Some of the gyms in the area don't offer JO, which is another reason I chose Gym America. My daughter spends 15 hours a week at the gym and loves it. I think that speaks for itself. If you are reading through these reviews, you might want to weigh one like mine a little more seriously, compared to people who have only spent a small amount of time at the gym. I've had a lot of opportunity to see what the gym is actually like. I'm not saying it's perfect, but I am saying that 1) my daughter has been safe here and 2) that her skills have improved *substantially* since she started here a year and a half ago.

I heard a lot of mixed reviews originally, but I am so glad my kids stayed and stuck with this place. their teachers have really proved to be so patient and shown the care and consideration they have towards the young ones. my son loves gymnastics, but he's 3 and not the best listener. they have some established gymnasts as their teachers and they have been a delight to work with. my daughter, 9, has also very much enjoyed her time here & has made fantastic progress! highly recommend this facility for your children to really grow and learn! big shout-out to Kayla, Erin, Grey, Jada & Ari (I hope I spelled their names right) !

But while we were there during our first time, we saw a couple of things that we weren't too fond of. A couple of kids at different times came out to the waiting area crying because they got hurt. The coaches would basically try to shift blame to the kid saying they didn't do anything wrong and that sometimes kids get hurt and that the girls were fine. Felt like they were just deflecting. The coaches for my daughter's class were sitting down for part of the session on mats and wearing house slippers and hoodies while giving directions on what the children should be doing. Sees like they should be more engaged with the kids during warm up and dress more appropriately. Also, while we were waiting, we saw numerous older girls go into the girl's bathroom and they were all being loud and calling people on their cell phones and playing either TikTok videos or YouTube videos. We could hear them in the waiting area. No staff cared or came to tell the girls to stop playing around. I would have felt bad if my 6 year old daughter had to use the bathroom and go in there with them. In the end, we signed our daughter up to try it but we weren't satisfied with what we saw after one visit. We will be going back to the other gymnastics place that seems better even though it is further from our house.
