ZavaZone is the perfect place to let (older) kids loose and burn some energy during the weekends. My daughter is more on the timid side when it comes to large indoor gym spaces, but there were so many activities she was able to pick and choose according to her comfort level. From high ropes courses, to ninja warrior battles, giant slide, parkour, trampoline dodgeball, and battle beam there is lots of things to do. While this place is not the newest, it was very clean and well staffed. Make sure to get dippin' dots as a treat on your way out. We would definitely come back! read more

I brought my sons here hoping for a fun afternoon to burn off some energy. At first glance, Zava Zone looks decent with the usual mix of trampolines, ropes courses, and climbing walls. However, within minutes, it became clear that this facility is dangerously understaffed and falling apart. My biggest concern is safety. The few staff members present were completely checked out. Instead of monitoring the equipment, they were grouped together looking at their phones. This was terrifyingly apparent on the high ropes course. I watched a young boy climb a set of pillars nearly 15 feet in the air before the attendant finally looked up from her phone to intervene. In an environment like this, that level of negligence is unacceptable. The facility itself looks ok at first glance but is in disrepair. Large strips of rubber were falling off the warped wall, and the general maintenance is appalling. I've attached a photo of the stairs where the lighting fixtures have been ripped out, leaving exposed wiring hanging open right where kids are walking. Between the distracted staff and the crumbling infrastructure, this place is a liability. It feels unsafe and frankly needs to be shut down before a child gets seriously hurt. I took 3 boys during the week in July and they had a blast! The place is huge and there was hardly anyone in there! they rode the seated biplane, climbed the towers, played some trampoline dodgeball, jousted, did the obstacle course but their favorite was the timed obstacle course! They wanted to beat each other and their personal best times, so they did the course over and over again, resulting in exhausted, sweat drenched boys! There is a rock wall tower to climb and obstacle course up on the structure above the regular ninja course. I took off 1 star for the teenagers working there that just sat around talking and flirting with each other or on their phones. They looked super bored and couldn't be bothered to watch the kids for safety. When I kid was stuck on the sky obstacles course and was shouting for help but there was no workers in site, I went to find one and he just said, there's 2 harnesses so if 1 is stuck, there's the other one and walked away. Didn't even go try to see what the issue was. read more

Came here for a birthday party and was impressed by how large the play area was. Definitely bigger than, say, super awesome amazing. ZavaZone has both climbing and some kind of bouncing area so they have socks but they also want your kid to wear shoes for certain things. This is a little confusing. They also have rides, but at some point I noticed the kids were running around and not a single worker was in sight. I know cause I was going to ask a question. I went to a vending machine and discovered a group of teenage boys in uniform hiding and chatting. Break time, I assume? Still wildly unsafe to have no supervision of kids on climbing walls and such, not to mention the rides and certain activities cannot take place without the workers assistance. The party itself was great. The room was large and not far away. There were stairs we had to take (though an elevator exists) and a couple of massage chairs for parents to sit, but other than that not a lot of thought given to what parents might do or need while waiting for their kids. read more

We had our daughter's 8th birthday here. Facility is clean and well maintained, and our party attendant was very attentive and helpful. However, all the rest of the staff were terrible. They were not paying attention to any of the kids on the equipment, and just socialized with other staff when they should have been watching the children on the equipment. Staff did not provide any explanation for how equipment worked to the young children, and we had to go searching for staff to either hook them into their harnesses or unhook them. There is also a random service charge for parties which management did not give a good reason for charging. Management should pay attention to staff and their laziness if they want to keep customers safe. read more

Disappointing Birthday Party Experience I booked my daughter's birthday party at Zava Zone expecting a fun, stress-free celebration. Unfortunately, the experience was ruined because they failed to deliver on their promises. The package we purchased included goodie bags for the kids--a key detail that excited my daughter and her friends. At the end of the party, we were informed they had "run out" of goodie bags, leaving my daughter heartbroken and her friends visibly upset. How does a business specializing in hosting events run out of something so basic yet essential to a child's birthday? This shows a complete lack of preparation and professionalism.We left feeling disappointed and let down. Zava Zone needs to seriously rethink their operations and how they handle special events. We just hosted my sons birthday party here (4 year old) and it was an awesome experience. Since my son is a winter baby, it's hard finding a venue to host his birthday. We stopped by this place and instantly realized it was the spot. This indoor trampoline, ninja warrior like course, has things to do for all ages. Everyone that attended mentioned how much their child enjoyed it. The service was amazing. From beginning to end. When we first checked this place out, we were given a quick tour of the facility and allowed to try it out for a bit. On the day of the party, we were greeted by our party host (Angie). She was great! She went above and beyond to make it easy for us. All of the other employees were cheerful as well. We had a room reserved and received 15 minutes prior to opening to start decorating the room. Our room portion started 1.5 hours after guest arrived so we were able to still get the room ready while kids were enjoying themselves. They work with La Porcheta in Sterling for catering options. The pizza here was phenomenal. I've found another awesome pizza joint in Loudoun. I can't say more great things about this place. Definitely come give it a try, your kids will love it. read more

However, there are plenty of rooms for parties, the arcade area is small, there is laser tag, a bowling alley and a bar for the parents. It's the best size for an hour party. Emailed the two cofounders. No response. No surprise since this place has spiraled down hill. There is a dead trampoline spot in the back. Wonder when they will get fixed. The big yellow climbing thing as you first enter that you would run up much like the two black ramps. Never seen that operational in any way since I have been going in 2018. Maybe remove it? This is a great place to take the kids. Plenty of room when it's not full and the floor guards do their jobs here. It's a safe place and the kids always have a blast. There is plenty to do from jumping on trampolines to going through an obstacle course. If you have never been, you really need to go. It's a real treat for the kids and worth your time. read more

This place has some great highlights and a few things that need to be fixed. Pros: 1) It is clean and spacious with lots of options for kids. 2) You can wear any grip socks. You don't have to buy just their brand. 3) Some staff are very interactive with the kids. 4) the choices for kids top most other places I've been to. 5) Lots of parking. Cons: 1) One of the more expensive ones of everything in the area. 2) Aimed more toward bigger kids. 3) They don't man every station very well. My two kids waited to go onto a station that needed a harness and no one was there. They waited a good 3-4 minutes and no one. This place is great for taking kids to! I always bring my nephews here and they love it. There are a big variety of activities to do. On the top is a rope obstacle course for kids to scale and balance through. On the ground floor, the kids get to do obstacles such as climbing and jumping and running through courses. At the back of the this floor is the trampoline room where you can jump around or play dodgeball. The kids love it! Unfortunately I do not have any of the photos to post.....this is a great place for hosting birthday parties for kids also. The staff is mainly I believe high schoolers etc. and they are very friendly and helpful. Normally the parents just hang out and let the kids exhaust them self! read more

I am incredibly disappointed by ZavaZone. The actual facility is wonderful: clean, well-maintained, and very fun. All of the staff who needed to be engaged (e.g for the trampolines with harnesses, for rock climbing) were. However, the staff for the ropes course were awful. They were unengaged and inexplicit in terms of telling us the rules. I went on and, because I'm an adult, they assumed that I knew how to use the clipping mechanism and therefore just sent me onto the course. I was not around when they sent on children, but I honestly believe that the staff did not explain to them how to properly clip on to the course as well, as I saw multiple kids who were standing on platforms completely unclipped, and when I explained how to clip on, they seemed very confused. Yes, the kids should probably have been aware that they must be clipped onto the course at all times, but can we blame the children for not being aware? There were no staff members on the ropes course itself, and the course itself was way overcrowded, so it was impossible to fulfill the "two people on a platform at a time" rule. I am appalled that the staff could send children onto a course a story off the ground with no supervision. When ZavaZone has more attentive staff members, I will recommend people to go there. It's definitely a nice place, the staff just need better training. read more

Trampolines are life's way of reminding you how old you are. I went to ZavaZone with my family a few days ago. We spent two hours here and had a lot of fun. There are different sections: three trampolines (a large area for jumping, two for dodge all and laser tag) , a mini coaster, several climbing walls, a mini ninja warrior course, a 20ish floor high agility course, and a few other areas. Despite what it looks like when you enter, this place is not just for kids. Adults can go on the obstacles too, although 99.9999999% of them didn't. There are a small number of lockers (20, not free) for storing personal belongings. Parking is available in front and behind the building. It was unclear if the parking on the side was available. It is marked for a neighboring business, and I didn't see a sign saying it was available for weekend or holiday parking. If you enter from the back of the building you need to walk to the front and up a flight of stairs to get to registration. Worth checking out. We'll be going back. read more

My daughter was invited for a birthday party by one of her gymnastic teammates. It was a great experience. She loved it. Though the obstacles some did seem hard, she was able to complete it. We are generally an adventurous family -- we've done GoApe ropes courses, the ropes course at Great Wolf Lodge, and several zipline courses, and never had a major safety concern. However, we left ZavaZone very concerned about safety and we won't be returning. The activities on the lower level generally seemed safe. Each section is manned by a "safety coach" and, while they were all generally pretty young and were often distracted chatting with each other or staring into space, I generally felt comfortable. However, the ropes course seemed very unsafe and we had a very bad experience with one of the safety coaches. The ropes course is a metal grid scaffolding positioned about twenty feet above the activities on the ground floor. This means that if someone fell, they would not only hit the metal grid of the ropes course, but also the equipment below and possibly the children below. Children on the ropes course are strapped into a harness that has two clips. As they navigate the course, the clips run along a guide wire above the metal grid. As the children navigate the grid, they have to unhook and rehook first one, then the other harness clip. They do this at platforms at the grid intersections. The platforms are small and were often crowded with five or six children on an approximately three foot radius circular platform. Their harness clips would sometimes get tangled and it wasn't always clear to them (or me) that they had properly rehooked their harness clips before they stepped back out onto the metal grid. My daughter is ten and met the height requirement. She's done several ropes courses before, but after about ten minutes on this course, she got tangled in a specific section and needed help. There were four safety coaches available, but they were all congregated at the entrance/exit area and were talking with each other or otherwise distracted. I alerted one of the coaches to help her and he did. About that time another child was stuck in another section and was so frightened that she was crying and saying loudly, "I am too scared! I can't move! I'm too scared!". That mother, too, had to alert the safety coaches to get help because they weren't paying attention. After about ten minutes, my daughter got stuck again in a different section. At that time, I asked the same safety coach to help her and to escort her off the course. He helped her but did not escort her off the course. He told me that "she's fine" and that "she's probably having fun". She didn't seem to me to be having fun -- she was pale and near tears, although she was trying to put on a brave face. I watched her struggle to make her way back to the entrance/exit for another ten minutes or so. I asked the safety coach if he could at least verbally guide her along the easiest route. At that point he became very belligerent. He told me to "stop telling [him] what to do" and that he "couldn't spend so much time helping one child". He also told me that if I didn't like it I could "talk to the manager". At that point I did go to the manager and provide feedback based on my experience. I stuck to the facts, emphasized that I didn't want to escalate the situation, but that I had serious concerns about my daughter's safety and enjoyment and that I had met with resistance from the "safety coach". The manager listened but offered no apology, explanation, or offer to resolve the situation. My daughter did eventually get herself off the course and, as far as I can tell, they shut the course down for about twenty minutes. By the time we left, however, they had resumed normal operations. read more

My 10 year old son loves this place. They have lots of obstacles to play on, both at ground level and high up in the air (although my son wasn't quite tall enough for the upper course). The facility looked great upon arrival. Awesome activities. Great space for a birthday party. However none of the staff was being cognizant of the children. We had to ask numerous people to actually do their jobs. Almost all had AirPods in one ear. Laying down on the floor or in the trampoline. Not paying attention. Groups of employers just hanging out talking to each other not doing their jobs. Two employees started playing on one of the games and kicked off little kids. Then proceeded to sneeze on the floor and left snot all over the floor and didn't clean it up. We had to ask several times to have the employees just do their jobs and make sure the children were staying safe. It's too bad. Could've been a great place. read more

I am there right now this has to be one of the most disorganized poorly staffed places you could possibly go to. Every person checking you win has a blank look on their face and can't answer a question. But the real part is the lack of safety in the upper climbing area staff too busy checking their phones and goofing off rather than watching the kids up top of her crying looking for some form of assistance. If you want to commit some heinous crime this is the place because nobody gives a s**t about anything There is a lack of enough comfortable seating a few couches but they strategically placed a bunch of massage chairs which nobody pays for however if you sit on them for more than a second they will sound an alarm On a positive the three dollar Nazi sock police are as vigilant as can be,and there is not even the remotest sign him any sort of management or leadership read more

Super fun!! I expected a trampoline place with a few ropes activities or something but this was far beyond what I expected. We walked in and saw the obstacle courses and it looked like an Ultimate Beast Master but for normal people. My girls and I had lots of fun & the staff was very friendly and attentive. We got stuck in one of the hard challenges in the obstacle course that's in the air but one of the safety instructors was quick to help my girls out & get through it. In all honesty it is a bit pricey and you need at least 2 hours to enjoy everything. I wish it was a bit more affordable but we defiantly enjoyed ourselves!! read more

6 year old son slipped and fell on the obstacle course. He suffered a huge gash underneath his chin. Needed 8 stitches. The 2 staff members on duty were on the other side of facility supervising. Close off a section if you do not have enough staff. This incident happened on Sept 7th. Today is Sept 10 and no follow up as to the condition of my child. As a children's facility I would have thought you guys would have more heart. I see now you are heartless. As to the VP guy that I reported the incident upstairs he seemed more upset about the incident than to the condition of my child. In the past they had plenty of staff to supervise. My kids and I went here for my nephews birthday party. They had us start in this somewhat enclosed bouncing area. After 5 minutes of being in there, my 2.5 year old started crying and limping towards me. She was complaining that her leg hurt. I sat down and consoled her. Initially thinking that she got hit with something, I tried to have her shake it off and go back in. She tried walking on it, but kept saying it hurt. I took her to the ER which they took an X-ray of her leg. Sure enough, it was broken. They had mentioned that it's very common for younger kids to break their legs in these indoor trampoline places. I would highly suggest to avoid bringing little kids here due to that. read more

Came here for a friend's birthday outing! We went around 7, and spent around 2 hours there. I would say that it was the perfect amount of time to do everything if you manage your time well, and plus you will probably be really tired after that. Upper floor is where you register and get your wrist bands, the staff will then show you how to latch onto the safety harness and have you demonstrate back. I thought this was really helpful since it took some getting used to. They also have staff situated throughout the area in case you get stuck anywhere. I want to recognize Jose and Shana in particular, they were especially friendly, helpful, and always looking out in case anyone needed any help. The course in the upper area required a lot of balance, but I enjoyed it more than the basement floor. If you've ever been to the goape parks, the obstacles are very similar. One thing I didn't like was that there's no set course to go through (you can choose your own way), it ended up causing a lot of gridlock, where you ended up standing around while waiting for other people to finish. I found the lower floor course to be a lot more challenging, think American ninja warrior, and you've got a good idea what it's like. Everything is all pretty low to the ground with cushioned mats though, so some will probably find this area less intimidating. They also had a parkour course, one rock climbing wall, and a dodgeball area (you have to pay $2-3 for their socks iirc), but we ran out of time before we could do it. Overall, a great place to have fun for kids and adults. Ps. Buy Bengay for the morning after if you are an out of shape adult like me. Thank me later :) read more

We bought discounted one-hour passes through Certifikid and came for grand opening day. My boys loved it. One hour wasn't quite long enough, but we didn't want to pony up more money. It's already fairly pricey for two boys. My little guy loved the rock wall climbing, they even had a glow in the dark one. He also enjoyed the chair ride. My oldest loved the battle beam and ninja warrior course. I can see myself coming during the winter when it's too cold to play outside. But I wish they had a monthly membership to make it more affordable. read more

We've been to the Rockville Zava Zone several times & have always enjoyed ourselves. Unfortunately, the Sterling location was a big, fat letdown compared to what we've grown accustomed to when we've visited Rockville. My girls look forward to our ZZ trips SO much & it's a bit of a special treat considering we have to travel approximately an hour each way to get there. I noticed the Sterling location had the "Cloud Coaster", something not offered at the Rockville location & thought it might be an exciting change, especially considering Sterling was only an additional fifteen or so minutes away for us. BIG MISTAKE! Immediately after checking in we head straight to the "Cloud Coaster" only to discover it is not in operation. Pretty disappointing, especially considering the only reason we chose this location was specifically to try this attraction. That being said, I also completely understand that things happen & taking it out on the staff would not only be unfair but do absolutely nothing to improve the situation. I mean, we all work somewhere & no one wants to be yelled at, especially for issues they have zero control over. Anyway, I check with the desk just to see if they expect for it to be out of commission the entire day or if there was a chance it might be up & running before the end of the day. I'm told it's down indefinitely & that they're actually waiting on a technician to fly in to work on it. Officially bummed now, as I had a tiny bit of hope that maybe whoever was running it that day was simply on their lunch break or something but I roll with it, as I said, no sense in getting angry over it. But THEN, we go back downstairs only to discover that the "Giant Slide", a favorite of my girls is ALSO not in service. I wave down an employee who just happens to be walking by & he informs me that, "Yeah, that things BEEN broken for a while now". Again, not the employee's fault & I tell him as much. Discovering that two of ZZ's MAIN attractions are both out of operation, one of them "for a while" now has me a bit frustrated considering the long drive to get there not to mention the expense. I purchased four unlimited tickets online but due to traffic had maybe 2.5 hours to play before closing time. Totally my own fault but when you shell out $200 for a little over 2hours you hope it's worth it. Ultimately though, what pretty much pooped on the whole experience was the general attitude of 90% of the employees. You could tell on every one of their faces that they HATED every second of being there. They would harness & unharness you most times without uttering a single word & paid zero attention to anyone using an attraction. And you could forget about anyone assisting you in any capacity. Myself & the other adult with me were fine but my 7 & 8 year old definitely required a bit of assistance on occasion- it wasn't happening, not that day. Again, an issue we've NEVER experienced at the Rockville location. I've always been super impressed with all of the staff at Rockville, every single time. I mean, I get it, it was during holiday break, the day before New Year's Eve & those kids clearly wanted to be anywhere BUT at work, as evidenced not only by their attitudes but by the fact that they're using lint rollers & vacuums on the play areas a full hour before closing making us feel like we were in their way if we wanted to use the equipment around where they were cleaning. However, when your own kids look forward to visiting Zava Zone, so much so that they can't even get the words out because they're "So *gasp* excit *gasp* ed!" & they're met with nothing but sheer annoyance from the very people who's sole job is to ensure their safety (& hopefully fun) it really throws a big 'ol wet blanket on the whole day. Maybe it was an off day but I won't take the chance on Sterling again & just stick with going to Rockville where I'm not made to feel like an intrusion on everyone's day. read more
