Stopped by for breakfast. Three servers standing at the counter. Waited. Two minutes later we were greeted and seated at a table after walking over a dirty floor with food and trash. Sweeping and mopping an option here. Service was slow and server asked me if I wanted cream and then didn't deliver it. When she finally returned and I asked for cream, she apologized and managed to get it before exiting again. We eventually got to order. All servers are lacking smiles and generally appeared not pleasant. Did not feel welcomed as a customer. I guess this is a utility food place where we just go to feed ourselves and get minimal service. I'm on vacation and feeling generous, but unfortunately the server did not benefit from this. Blah. That's the best I can say. I ordered the open faced Beef Sandwich special, and it came on supermarket bread, with good (but overly salty) gravy, and a side of broccoli stalks. Seriously- I think the broccoli was from a freezer bag, and I only received 1 floret. Some lucky bastard probably had a plateful of florets with his meal. Must be nice... Ambiance is kinda cool, and the service was friendly, but the food was like a meal a college kid would be proud of using random food from the fridge. read more

This experience i will give an overall 4. The food is average but the dessert is above average. The ice-cream is so good but even since i was there last year the portions have noticeably gotten smaller with the milk shakes. The bread pudding on the other hand was HUGE. I had to have my dad finish it because it was so rich yet delicious with all the caramel sauce and whipped cream on top. This bread pudding was super moist and served warm so i highly recommend ordering it if you have a sweet tooth! read more

Went shopping in Brainerd today & decided to eat at 371 Diner. It was AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The atmosphere is wonderful due to the very friendly & helpful waitresses. And the food, well, indescribably delicious. ZERO stars! Sunday morning two of us went in for breakfast. We were seated right away and then ignored for 30 minutes. Four other tables came in after us, ordered and ate before we even were waited on! We were all in the same section! Karrie. Finally Karrie came over and said she was triple sat and so busy. We know!! We watched. She was unfriendly and slow. We got our food which was very average and COLD! By this time we were so angry we couldn't even complain anymore. Manager was wondering around not very far from the front desk. Never came out to see how things were going. Very young hostess and couldn't count the change which showed her on her screen. Had to count $11.79 three times. No one seemed to care about their jobs. Everyone went through motions. Very disappointing. Better off going to McDonalds. At least it is fast and hot. read more

The chicken wrap had one little chicken strip in it. Then they used the same lettuce that they use for their salads in the wrap. So the wrap had carrots and red cabbage in it. Did not impress me for $10.00. Considering that you can get a whole case of lettuce for the same price that I paid for one wrap. Also the owner of the place there was a sour puse that walked around with a scowl the whole time. At least he should be happy that people are coming to his business and getting screwed. His costumers should be the one's leaving with a scowl on their face. I would stay away from that place. Not hearing a lot of good things about it around town. We stopped here for breakfast around noon on a Sunday. It was busy but we were still seated right away. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs breakfast. It was ok/good. Would've been better if the cook didn't try to get fancy and sprinkle some green shit (Parsley? Oregano?) all over the gravy. Boyfriend had steak and eggs. Steak was what you would expect in diner. Nothing fancy, not bad. There were lots of items on the menu for those not interested in breakfast. And shakes, malts, and pies that looked so good but we didn't have room for them. read more

This place was fabulous! Great service, very good food. They serve breakfast all day. The omelet was loaded with melted cheese. Everything came quickly and it was hot. Their potato bites are fabulous. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Their pies are famous and justly so. They were out of the rhubarb custard pie so I order the rhubarb sour cream. Mmmm! Sadly, they don't share the recipe but it was amazing. The prices are reasonable as well. The omelet with a side of bacon, the pie and a cinnamon roll for the next morning totaled $18. If I ever come back to Baxter, I will be visiting the 371 Diner again. read more

Had breakfast here hoping the food would match our visions of diner fare. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The only good thing about this place was the appearance. The food was poor quality: cold cardboard toast, "eggy" tasting eggs I couldn't eat, and weak coffee. Ugh! A family of four we are decided to stop by before heading to the state park. It took 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us at the door to be seated and 58-minutes we are STILL waiting our lunch. Drinks came 40-mibutes after being ordered. And waitress has not been back sunce we placed our order. I don't believe we will return here in the future. read more

This WAS my favorite hamburger place in the Brainerd / Baxter area. Until TODAY... I don't mind paying ten dollars for a hamburger... especially as good as these WERE BEFORE... but NOW...the hamburger today rated as one of the worst hamburgers ever... not just in this area. Plus, the fries were frozen heated up in a microwave or heating oven and so dry even a dousing of high-fructose corn-syrup ketchup didn't help. I ordered the hamburger medium rare, as I have for years ( more than a decade and different owners )... and no problem with the waitress about the order... the burger came and was charred through to the point of tasting like bad meat overcooked to mask the poor quality. The waitress stopped by the table while we were eating and asked the traditional 'how is everything' and I raised my hand to speak while I finished that bite and she was gone, not to reappear until the food was finished. After eating the cashier said 'was everything okay' and I mentioned the burger and she said 'we never cook medium-rare only well done'...so THERE... bad food and blatant lies from the staff... after all of these years it's time to scratch this place off of our 'regular list'... breakfast has been good in the past too... but we are all definitely afraid to see the horrible depths to which this new group will drag that meal. I'm sure the waitress and cashier were doing their jobs... but by all appearances this was not the type of clean place we feel is worth frequenting or RECOMMENDING. read more

My wife and I have eaten breakfast here in the past, and have had a good experience. Most recently, we stopped for lunch, and had a poor experience. This place is a classic example of why we don't eat out much even though we can easily afford it. After we were seated, it took a while before our waitress decided to make an appearance. We ordered. We then waited. I could have taken my car in for an oil change and tire rotation before we were served our meal. The meal itself was pathetic. I had the beef sliders. The meat tasted like very cheap ground beef. I added mustard to cover up the poor taste. My wife's chicken sliders were pretty much unpalatable. My fries were limp and below average. My wife's cole slaw was room temperature, and soupy. I had to go up to the cash register to get our bill. We hurried out of there, and ate some candy to cover up the bad taste of the meal. To sum this up, service here was pretty much nonexistent, and food was much worse than your average fast food place. read more

Great food, Incredibly slow service. It seemed the waitresses were working hard and it was relatively busy but our food took almost an hour. Then we had to wait another fifteen minutes to get our bill. We ordered eggs Benedict and a veggie omelet, which were both delicious. From the road, it looks like a really cool 1950's diner and always wanted to stop but I've always heard bad things about this place for the last couple years since I moved into the area. So I decided to see for myself last week and my friends were right. When I walked in the hostess was stuffing her face with food and she greeted me and talked to me with her mouth full of food. The servers were all very loud and obnoxious. They were cackling in the kitchen and never checked my table. The food was meh. Such a large menu always makes me worry. my mother brought me here. it was exactly like stepping into Wowsville, the "authentic 50s diner" in the movie Ghost World. except without the desperate loneliness. i found the place and the waitresses completely charming. the breakfast i ordered was inexpensive and diner-tasty- no complaints here. there is a wurlitzer jukebox that plays Duke of Earl and old guys drinking coffee on barstools. the chocolate shakes will make you say please. i'm probably going to wear saddle shoes next time i go here. read more

Sorry folks, anything over 3 stars is WAY to much, The ambiance was cute, the Malt was great, the burger tough and really rates 2 stars, coleslaw was gross, and fries ok.
