My water heater went out and I contacted a different plumber from Fairfield who came to my house and told me they were going to charge me over $6,500 to install a new water heater. They said they could give me a discount if I signed a contract stating that I would sign up for their membership, leave them a positive review on yelp, take a picture in front of the water heater and leave a sign with their information on it in my yard. The cost would still be over $5000. At this point I figured I would just live without hot water before I paid this price. I called 3D plumbing and Mike and Blaine were at my house within 5 minutes. They installed the water heater immediately. The price was a few thousand dollars less than the other plumber's price and I didn't have to join any memberships, post any signs, take any pictures or leave yelp reviews. Mike went above and beyond!!! I had a corroded pipe leaking in my ceiling. The home warranty wouldn't cover it, of course. I called 3D Plumbing. Mike from 3D Plumbing is the best plumber. We came home from a very long vacation, and early the next morning woke up to an unusual noise and water drops on our wood floor. Our water heater bad burst, sending water throughout the entire house. Called Mike and he came out right away, turned off the water and assessed the damage. He bought a new water heater and had it installed within the hour. Several months later, went into the kitchen to find water across the floor. Called Mike. He came over within half an hour and saw that our dishwasher broke. After all it was nearly 15 years old and very loud. He suggested we buy a new one, and gave us a price and ideas of how to save money. And that he did. Very reasonable prices. Very quick response, especially emergencies. Very nice person. Very honest......Then a couple months later, our toilet broke and was leaking. He came over and made a quick temporary repair and said he'd order the parts needed. I contacted 3D plumbing (owner, Mike Dart) about 2 weeks ago because of a leak in my valve to the main water supply to my house. I contacted Mike because I live in a small town and prefer to support the local businesses when I can. He called me back the day I had called him and came over while I was at work and gave me a bid for the repair. I thought it was a fair price so I had him do the work. He was quick, the work was good and he was done. I will use Mike again when my old house needs more work. What Mike didn't know was that I had another plumber from a larger city out a few days prior because that plumber was sent by my home warranty company to make a repair inside my home due to a leaking shower valve. That plumber was NOT good. I don't think they fixed my valve correctly and when they turned the water back on to my house is when the main valve outside began to leek terribly. I asked the other plumber about it and they said it was not their fault because when they operated the valve it was "under normal operating conditions". I agree the valve was old and it was due to leak anyway, but I turned it on and off the day before with no problems. I think it was stripped when the other plumbers son cranked it too far closed. The other plumbers son did the work in my house while the plumber hired by the warranty company mostly sat in his truck until he came in and tried to "upsell" other work he could "see" from 20 feet away. I felt like he was a used car salesman in my house! The other plumber offered to fix my now terribly leaking main water valve that his son knew now leaked but didn't say anything until we saw it. The other plumber said he could make the repair for about $75 MORE than what Mike at 3D did the job for. The point I am making is, 3D did a fair and good job for me. I will hire him again. If you live in Rio Vista, give him a chance. The other point I am making... is BE AWARE of home warranty plumbers, they are typically the low bid company and it clearly showed for me a couple of weeks ago. read more
