They are exactly what a great company looks like and you would be lucky to have them help you out with your plumbing issue. Just had them do a major Sewer Line Replacement due to roots. My hot water heater went out. Quoted with three companies. One big box store, one other local company, and NPP. The big box was cheapest (by $100), but were installing a somewhat lower quality product. (RANT)The other local company was your typical "standard price list" pricing. My job was simple and required few upgrades. The "standard price list" folks were nearly $1,000 more for their "basic install" which included all sorts of things that didn't apply to my install. There are way too many plumbing and HVAC companies who are more interested in trying to upsell high markup items and not interested enough in doing work(/RANT) Enter NPP. Not inexpensive. But they sell an US made product, and they wanted to work, not sell. The installation went smooth and was tailored to our house. They are a small shop, so they aren't going to be your 24-hour on call plumber. But they will respond and show up when promised. I would certainly use them again. read more

I was a big fan of North Pacific Plumbing. We had a leak under our sink and they were able to come in, diagnose the problem, and fix it super quickly. Whereas a lot of experiences I've had they given me a window of time and then come later, with North Pacific they were available EARLY and asked if they could come then. We have had North Pacific out to do several jobs for us, and we also tried to other companies for one job (a leak that turned out to be near the bottom of a wall). The difference between North Pacific and the others was stunning. We will be dedicated North Pacific customers for all future needs. They are very trustworthy and very good at their jobs. We have now had them fix a leak outside home, fix a leak inside home, lay a new pipe for us outside home, and come to our home to investigate and figure out that what we were afraid was another leak was in fact an issue with a shower door. All the jobs were done well, but the two inside home jobs stood out. The first was an apparent leak evident at the base of a wall in our laundry room. We initially called another plumber who seemed to have a plan for extracting money from us, but not much of a plan for the leak. We got rid of him and tried a second company. The second company seemed more honest, but they sent a camera snake down our pipe and concluded that there was tree root poking through a pipe underground, which would not be a cheap repair. Finally, we tried North Pacific for a second opinion. North Pacific was great. They followed up investigating the pipe and tree root and found that the "tree root" was actually just grease in the pipe. They did their own investigation and discovered that the leak was actually at a pipe junction near the base of the wall, not underground as the previous plumbers had thought. They fixed it, and saved us a bunch of money, damage, and disruption that the others would have cost us by tearing up a floor. For the second in-home job, we were afraid we found a damp spot in a first floor ceiling and we were afraid it was a leak from a pipe above. The same guy who solved the previous leak came out, investigated and figured out that the water was escaping from our shower because the shower door wasn't closing properly. No need for any repair. We probably should have figured out this one ourselves, but it's a nice example of how this company knows their stuff and treats you fairly. read more

The water heater at my parents' house leaked all over the garage and needed to be replaced. Two days later, Brent was here to replace it. The unit that he brought was clearly superior (I mean, the old one died so the bar was pretty low for that), and surprisingly was made out of superior materials (sadly surprising because "old" people always talk about how "they never make them like they used to" about any appliance). The water heater plus labor was $1500, and he had to leave to go to the hardware store to get a tube since our configuration is bizarre and what he had on hand wasn't long enough. The important part to note about this is that he didn't charge for the tube, which admittedly doesn't cost very much but still; other reviewers here have complained about being overcharged and having to pay more for small parts etc. which baffles me given the quality of service we received. He also went over the permit info and what the city inspector would be looking for when he/she stops by (standard for water heater replacement). He was also friendly and indulged my curiosity while he worked (which isn't a requirement for good service but is always a plus). I don't have a whole lot of experience w/ his industry, but my family and I were all very happy w/ the job done and when I get my own house and have water heater issues, I won't feel the need to research out where to get service since I know of a great place already. My only complaint is that Oregon, Washington, and Canada are further north than Sacramento, and we're not really coastal, but that's just a complaint for the sake of complaining because I think it's funny and want a "funny" upvote. TL;DR: Use North Pacific because it's great. read more

Called for service to clear a clogged sewer line. Preston had to search and dig to find our clean out trap. He then used a special camera to show us how and where his auger had to go to clear everything. He did it thoroughly and professionally. He was very personable and gave us some tips how to keep our drains clear (definitely NOT putting Draino type stuff down the drain!). Instead told of safe and clean way to do so. He came out to look at the main water shut off valve to our house, which we had tried for about 10 hours to fix on our own the previous day (and failed miserably.)
