Came here on a Tuesday afternoon for a to go lunch. I got that after 1 but the Place was hopping. Looked like a few regulars. Not too noisy. My order was ready when I arrived. I think it was ready early as the food was not very hot. You pickup at the bar and they don't keep warm. They put in styrofoam containers. Bartenders weren't rude but they weren't overly friendly either. The food was very good but I am betting it would have been excellent if hot - especially the fries. I got a pork tenderloin sandwich. It was HUGE. Look at the pic. The poor bun doesn't have a chance. lol. It was very good. Fries appeared to be fresh cut and were tasty. I do recommend. Really awesome place. First time in La Porte and we stopped here for a quick drink, and had to come back the next day to try the extensive menu. Went there for dinner. The waitress ignored me for most of the night. Then, when I got my bill, she'd charged me for an extra drink that I hadn't ordered and all of my drinks were listed as "tall" when I'd never ordered tall drinks and they were also clearly short drinks (if they were talls then their shorts must be the size of a Dixie cup). I got her to remove the drink I didn't order, but when I told her that my drinks weren't tall, she said "Yeah, those are talls." I've had tall drinks there before, those were NOT tall drinks. This spot is everything you'd want in a local pub. The atmosphere feels genuine, the food hits the mark, and the people make it welcoming. I tried a pub burger that was one of the best I've had, paired with a smooth amber bock on tap. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to. read more

As with everywhere they seem to be short staffed. It appeared there was only 2 servers for the entire place to include bartendering on a Sunday, so be prepared to wait. I had the BLT with fries and they cooked the bacon as I had requested. My aunt had the tilapia sandwich and liked it. I ordered the quesadilla for my son (they had high chairs). This sports bar is located across the road from Pine Lake. There is a patio if you want to dine outside. It was brightly lit and colorful on the inside. Service was fast and friendly. Our waitress didn't have any issues giving us all separate checks. The menu is long and full of bar food goodies like chicken wings, salads, soups, burgers, sandwiches, buffalo chicken wrap, and hot dog. Prices are reasonable. The service is very quick and the staff are very attentive. The food has always tasted great and the prices are pretty fair as well. I love going here and I highly recommend it as well. It is by the lake,so it can tend to be a little bit chilly sometimes so I recommend bringing a jacket if you are to sit outside. On my Army stays I have hit this place a few times. Great atmosphere, good service, food is decent. Caveat to that though; for those Chicago folks visiting here and looking for an authentic style Italian beef, don't get it here. Asked for mine dipped, hot peppers; got a philly cheese steak dry thing, with toasted bun! Tasted like brazed beef, too dry for my liking; not your traditional Chicago style Italian beef if that's what you're thinking of! To top it off I never order mine with cheese so maybe I overlooked the menu but I do not remember seeing cheese on there! I have to say for having a baseball themed bar I was disappointed in the lack of sports options to watch. Wanted to watch the nationally televised Cubs game. Instead they had non sports programming on the TVs. When I inquired about it took 4 innings to get the waitress to put the game on. The waitress was great, but seemed she was operating alone as she was helping every table! My friends beer mug had smudges on the inside the mug. Usually love going here but tonight 7-12-18, was a huge disappointment. Order 12 wings buffalo style, waitress brought out 12 hot. No biggy, advised the waitress who acknowledged it was her mistake and that shed bring out 12 new barbeque. We had half eaten 2 hot and noticed they weren't barbeque. Waitress said it would be 15 minutes we said ok. 2 minutes later she brought out 10 wings and said they just fixed them. We have a house in LaPorte near Pine Lake that we spend time at as many weekends as we can. Every time we come, we visit 3rd Base for food and drinks. Lots to chose from on the menu. Great sandwiches and we love the fried pickles. We love sitting outside and watching the sun set over the lake. Waitstaff is always friendly. Dinner: Had the Pull Pork sandwich w/ a side of Fries, and water. I do understand that this place is a Bar & Grill. Keep in mind that anyone could have a cold beer at home or just go to a bar... My rating is based on bar food. But if you're going to have grill in the title What I would like to see added to this meal: a spear pickle, and some yellow onions. The Pull Pork could have had brown sugar, pepper, and cooked on low. Served with evenly with butter toasted buns. I so badly wanted to take this sandwich home and recook it. The fries could have been a smash hit, if you had seasoning (garlic, onion salt, dash of kosher salt, and paprika). The lack of -was the only reason why I gave it a 3 out of 5. The idea of bar food could be known as just that. Add a little effort (Spices & Sugar) into the food and it becomes more to the sober customer. Make it for someone that's buzzed, then this sandwich could have been the best thing they ever eaten in the whole world! We stopped in here on the way home from cleaning out my late MIL's house (bummer, I know) and it was a good choice! Cheeseburger was awesome - really, really good, surpasses bar and grill standards by far. The side salad we got was mostly pale green iceberg lettuce and a ton of shredded mozzarella and cheddar, which was kind of meh, but it served its purpose as roughage. And, the boneless wings weren't that great, we should've stuck with traditional, but were certainly edible. We stopped on a Monday afternoon, and it was empty except for a few regulars. Staff was perfectly friendly and industrious - a guy was cleaning the beer taps with a toothbrush, so that says something about their cleanliness. I was staying at hotel right next to this place. Wanted a quick bite by the lake and stopped here, not once but twice in less than 24 hours. Great atmosphere! Patio is nice and can see the lake from the patio. Food came at fresh, hot, and fast! Prices are great, not expensive! Their Chicago style hotdogs are so good and only $7 for two and fries. First time in this town found the reviews of every restaurant horrible ended up here as it was close to the hotel. Well it does seem like there were a lot of regulars but really that is to be expected in a cottage town like this. I was served promptly and well looked after.
