I wanted to give this 4 stars for some reason, but I couldn't think of one bad thing to say. Loved the casual bar type atmosphere. Server was extremely busy, but managed to stay on top of all our needs. Food portions were huge and everything was great. Made the mistake of ordering a 20" pizza as I wanted some to take home; I underestimated the actual size of that, haha. Wife had prime rib sandwich and a bowl of chili. She said it was the best chili she has had. One of my daughters had Mac and cheese and it looked pretty great. Also ordered a large soft pretzel. It was gigantic and the dips were fantastic. Probably going to be my new favorite spot. read more

Let me start saying the food was awesome. The service was a little chaotic. The atmosphere was odd. They had this large table with very old people and they were very loud shaking their bottles and wine glasses so the waitress could get them a refill was hilarious. there is this lady in the corner that just sat there and talks so loud maybe her hearing aid was off that she could not hear herself talk but she was very loud. They were a little busy, and we did wait 15 minutes to get seated, which i can understand. The busyness did die down, however, after ordering, we waited TWO HOURS for our food to arrive. My wings were completely cold, Not warm, damn near freezing. Our waitress did replace them, but i didnt even get the same amount and she gave us bone in wings to make up for it. i just wanted my boneless wings she was on top of drink refills tho. read more

I was pleasantly surprised! My family has lived in this area for over 30 yrs. Places have come and gone and my mom and I used to golf at birch tree. It's not a fancy course, so I was weary to come here for a quick lunch with my kids and my mom. We just visited the dinosaur museum and tried to get a table at the south bend public house but there was a 30 minute wait despite several tables being open. I'm glad we came because the burgers here are super fresh, not frozen, hand shaped burgers. For $9 you get a lot of food. Waffle fries were awesome and ranch sauce is made fresh in house. The place was spotless, waitress was nice and it's family friendly. Plenty of tvs to watch march madness. We were very hungry and this place hit the spot. I have no doubt what we had would've been $20 at the public house and the south bend chocolate factory has club sandwiches for a whopping $14. If you're visiting the dinosaur museum, drive an extra ten minutes into new Carlisle and have lunch here. Lots of options, big menu but very fresh, you won't be disappointed read more

Great place for a beer and food. Come here often. This afternoon ran into a young lady hostess who gave us a lecture. We offered we have reservations and could we set at a different table. "I didn't take a reservation for you. You don't have one.". After she left, we went to the table we thought was for us and sure enough there was our name. Customer is always right. :). Went here for a birthday dinner for my husband and had an absolutely fantastic time. The atmosphere was great, lively, but not overwhelming, and our server was super friendly. The owner of the restaurant noticed that we were watching hockey on the TV behind us and went out of his way to turn on another TV for us so that we could get a better view of it, really great guy. We had the giant pretzel as an appetizer, and it could've fed four of us easily. I had probably the best cheeseburger I've ever had in my life, and my daughter had a calzone that was the size of her head. They didn't even mind that we brought in a birthday cake from outside, they gave us plates and a knife, even helped to sing happy birthday. Oh the Billy Goat. Everything on paper with this place just makes sense. A golf course, pull tabs and moderate beer prices. But let's dive just a little deeper shall we. The golf course is an absolute joke. Probably the worst greens in the area outside of the now defunct Valley Hills in Rolling Prairie. The bar isn't too bad. The service kinda sucks if you're not sitting at the bar. If you hit $599 on a pull tab, prepare to wait for forever. The short guy who owns the place hates paying out. The pizza is okay if it's cooked all the way. Mondays they have a special for slices of pizza and sloppy joes. Don't go in too late though, they tend to run out of sloppy joes rather quickly. The bathrooms aren't bad when there's toilet paper. But several times I've gone there and you could smell the bombs that have been dropped in there. read more

I love this place. I placed an order for 4 extra large pizzas for the Career Academy Robotics club. I knew it was a tall order for a small kitchen but I just love their pizza so much Especially the Sharon their buffalo chicken pizza which I highly recommend. There was a little hiccup but the owner was extremely kind and compensating and we got our pizzas to the event on time and the kids gobbled them up. I love this place!! The food and drinks are always great. The menu has a huge variety of options. The staff is friendly and up beat. It can be the perfect place to have dinner with the fam or go out for drinks with friends. The 9 hole golf course is perfect for an unskilled player like myself, it's quiet & inexpensive. We went here to eat on our way to see Mama Mia. I ordered the knot pretzel and a wedge salad for my dinner, my grand person ordered a grilled cheese and my daughter-in-law ordered fish and onion rings, easy right? Well it took me 20 minutes to get a drink delivered and 40 minutes later they were waiting for their food. It ended up the waitress put my food in as an appetizer. We asked the number of times where our food was and she had an excuse. Finally she said well they're plating it now. After another 10 minutes and no food we told her we couldn't wait any longer and d it we would just pay for what we had. It ended up in kerfuffle. The waitress screaming at us that we were dining and dashing even though we paid for the food that we had! She said she was calling the police for dining and dashing. Very friendly staff and quick to serve you. Food took almost an hour on a Sunday to be served and it was Mother's Day. More people in the bar area at first then the dining area filled up. Ordered a cheeseburger and tater tots and a buffalo chicken wrap. Requested the cheeseburger to be cooked medium and it was burnt black and not even warm. The tots were not warm and the chicken in the wrap was overcooked and hard. We were very hungry and ate the cheeseburger and half of the wrap. The onion rings were good and this place has good pizza.
