I found this cute place on Yelp while we were road tripping to Grand Rapids. The burgers looked amazing and I had to try them. Order at the counter when you walk in and grab a seat anywhere in their massive dining room. They serve Jones Soda on tap which gives this place massive bonus points. The smashed burgers came out quickly and we realized too late that I had ordered way too much food!!! A combo comes with fries and a drink, but I just had to try the fried green beans and onion rings. Everything was amazing and I will make this a must stop the next time I'm in Michigan City. read more

Holy smokes, what a treat. This was my first visit since they moved from Franklin St and it was so good. I had an impossible burger with pineapple and teriyaki and it was perfect. Along with Octave in Chesterton this was the best vegan burger I've had in the region. I'm sure the normal food is also great! I always enjoy a visit. The sweet potato fries are so crispy! And the chipotle mayo that comes with them is great. I loved my burger, but I did change it quite a bit from the menu. I got the Royale Melt with no onions and only American, no Swiss. It was so good! The service was quick and attentive. I love the new location too. It would be a great place to come with a group because they have tons of seating. The soda options are Jones Cola which I enjoy. My lunch date didn't love it as much since there was only one choice for diet/no sugar (in soda, there is also an unsweetened tea option). I was so impressed with this spot. I love Bob's Burgers & the fact that they incorporate this into their establishment won me over even more. It's a clean, open, & chill restaurant. The person taking our order was helpful and patient. My husband ordered (of all things) a salad. It was top tier! Didn't disappoint. Great portion for the price. Also tasty. I had the melt. Great choice. No regrets. The burgers come with two patties. I requested one. It was a little small but enough for me. The fries were perfect! Anyway, I had to take a star off mainly because of the sticky tables! They weren't dirty, it's just that they used the wrong finish...that and the music, while generally okay, got into some mediocre christian rock; A little off the mark in the irreverent atmosphere they have cultivated. But during the Coronavirus, I'm finding Yelp essential to find out whether restaurants have outdoor seating and are abiding by restaurant COVID regulations and best practices so that's the focus of this review. I hope that it will help others since this information is not readily available elsewhere. So, in addition to Yelp's traditional stars, I'm taking liberties with the English language and awarding my own "KOVID KUDOS" (Krispy Kreme and Kwik Trip have also wrought havoc on the English language)! KOVID KUDOS are my selective assessment on a 5 point scale of the restaurant's COVID attentiveness such as wearing masks and social distancing, operational reinvention and staff attitude under these unusual pandemic circumstances. Royale With Cheese gets a 5/5 on KOVID KUDOS because they are paying attention. You order at the counter and have the option of going to their patio in the back. The patio is a simple affair but very pleasant overall. It has a few picnic tables and several round wrought iron tables. It looks out over the back parking lot, but they've spruced it up adding flowers and a painted brick wall. They bus your tables for you when you are done. We had the Royale Melt and The Bob's (the daily special--this time, a mushroom Swiss burger) with the hand cut fries and the street corn as sides. Burgers were out of this world, fries were amazing, street corn was better than okay but "something" was missing. The soda machine dispenses Jones Soda(!) and the place was 70% full at a late lunch time. Not a lot of burger joints make you think "hmmm, we should try to get back there..." but this place makes that list. read more

Absolutely phanominal burgers.  My husband got a Royale With Cheese combo and while he loved the burger and fries, they did not give him his drink and the employees were busy so he didnt feel like waiting any longer.  I also loved my burger, which of course I got the Bob's Burgers themed burger of the day (Bacon Blue baby).  Other than the fogotten drinks the expierence was excellent and we will be back ASAP. read more

I saw the burgers when we picked them up and they looked incredible , but sadly since my tummy was aching I had to put it in the fridge.
