I'm staying in McMinnville for several months, and started out looking for corporate long-term stay…read morehotel with a kitchen. No such luck. My colleague Paul started looking at the vacation rentals, and pointed me to the Pinot Quarters. What a find! Since I'm renting for months rather than days I got a rate that is MUCH nicer than the daily. But it wouldn't be bad for a daily rental, especially for a family. You'll be getting the second floor of a spacious gingerbread Victorian house that was built in the 1920's and recently renovated. There are two bedrooms and two hide-a-beds, so it seems like the place could sleep somewhere between five an eight, depending on how 'friendly' everybody is. The kitchen is well equipped except for pots and pans. I've got one frying pan and one small sauce pan. There's a stove, microwave, dishwasher and disposal. The kitchen table is small for more than two people. There is a large bathroom with two sinks, toilet, shower and a large soaking bathtub which is sadly not jetted. There is no garage but you do get off-street parking. Almost enough towels for a rugby team. The parking garage across the street is a bit of an eyesore, but c'est la vie. The house has lots of nice little architectural details, like the sun windows on the corners of the house, antique door handles and stained glass. The windows are large and plentiful so the place is glowing and warm on sunny day. I'm enjoying my stay here, and dreading the day when the 'wine country' tourists arrive to pay full price, and I have to decamp to a hotel.

The house was very clean, decorated beautifully, and just like the pictures or even better. Examples of great customer service: -A very kind lady called me the day before arrival to check to see if I had any questions, and she gave me great recommendations for local wineries. Her recommendation ended up being my favorite! -I loved the pillows in one of the bedrooms, and Autumn from Lifestyle Properties helped me to track down the pillow brand and website. -I also left a Bluetooth speaker at the house, and they called to let me know and shipped it back to me.

I was planning a bday getaway for my wife's 40th birthday with her close friends from over 20years flying in to celebrate and started my house search early, in October, because of her December birthday. Lifestyle offered me a tour of two properties because they were sure they had what I needed. The owner Meghan, took me on the tour and really sold their newest property, Dundee landing. It had several unique features such as a pizza oven, it came with robes for every person, it had eco logs on site for use, tons of space, it was perfect. Then begin the barrage of problems, all of which were poor management of Lifestyle properties. I broke my payment into two parts. I was told on the phone and on the invoice the second payment would happen on the 15th. On the 9th, I get an email saying they are charging my card tomorrow ( 5 days early!) okay I wasn't planning for that but I can make it work. So I transfer money yada yada and then no charge on my card. A week later, on the 17th, I email asking if there's a problem, NO RESPONSE. Then I wait a few more days and call, the owner, Meghan is super busy but wants to speak with me. I'm about to call again when she finally calls me to tell me the house isn't available due to a permit issue. An issue I directly asked about prior to booking that she assured me wouldn't be a problem. Now it's a problem and it's the week of Thanksgiving and I have to pick a new house and replan an entire party that I already had booked vendors, etc for. Super frustrating because now I'm deep in it with a work project and really don't have the time to do this again. Also alarm bells are going off because I had just confirmed that two differently abled people who had service animals for medical conditions would be joining us. There's no way to be sure but I do know, the permit didn't come through for the house after we shared the accommodations needed for the differently able individuals. She offered me a few homes to choose from none of which are an exact fit. And several things that were included such as the robes and the eco logs are now up charges at all these other properties. I needed an early check in for which they charge a half day rate. I had booked it with the first house and they said the charge didn't post, (which there isn't a line item on the invoice but when I tried to book it online that was the correct total with paying for early check in) . if I wanted it for the new house I would have to pay it despite the fact on the phone, Meghan had told me the new house would be $700 cheaper. She said there's good news and bad news alluding to the fact that I would be saving money to have the exact same reservation but then she wanted to charge me more money. I had booked someone to make pizzas in the fancy pizza oven. None of the other homes had this feature and my deposit was non refundable. I shared this with Megan and she said she would see what she could do to try to get me some money back. I asked her to waive the early check in fee for the huge inconvenience she's caused me by over promising and under delivering. She assured me that she would work on this and get back to me after my stay but that she needed to charge me for early checkin to be able to pay the host and make sure the home was ready. Now after i emailed and called to find out what was going on I get an email saying there were two chairs damaged (none that we used were broken plus they charge an upfront damage fee so why this would even be a factor is beyond me) and that we didn't use the correct incense and they needed extra cleaning, which was shocking because we followed every request that they had, used a non oil incense and left the house immaculate. I've tried to call Megan twice with no response. The team while very friendly is running a shady operation where you speak with one person, they tell you one answer, then the next day someone else tells you something completely different, with different pricing or different availability. Having read other reviews of these kinds of baits and switches, I see this is a long-standing business practice. I also questioned if sure if they were treating us differently because we had differently abled people who had service animals for medical conditions, if it was because I am a woman of color, and or they had a problem with us being a queer couple. There's no way to be sure but I do know, the permit didn't come through for the house and all sorts of miscommunication started after we shared the accommodations needed for the differently able individuals.

The location could not get any better. It is so convenient to all of the stores and restaurants. Our unit was like a small apartment. One small room with a couch, high bar table, small fridge, sink and microwave. That small room led to a pass through toilet/shower room. The shower was tiny and the doors to the toilet/shower room were just sliding barn doors so you literally hear everything in there (not sure if I'm a fan of that part). After walking through the shower/toilet room, you hit your bedroom. It was a nice size. For those with mobility issues, there is no elevator and the units are all on the second floor so you will need to climb stairs. Communication with Douglas on Third was excellent. They had very detailed email information on how to access the building, how to access your room, parking, etc. You may also text them to communicate. I would absolutely stay here again!

It was originally built as a hotel with 30 single sleeper units. Now there are 14 units. IF THE WALLS COULD ONLY TALK!!! I wish I would have taken pictures prior to us unloading our luggage.
