This is the cutest winery I have ever been to. Stopped here for some wine and was so surprised at how community driven this winery is. The pizza is made from a neighbor, so no, those are not store bought! We were able to talk to the owner, who during that day was also touring their new Airbnb. They also provide live music. Stopped in here one day with my daughter and enjoyed a bottle of wine on the patio . We haven't been there for quite some time and always enjoyed the patio as the inside is alittle small. The winery is connected to the house and the front is beautifully landscaped and the back where the patio is has a very nice back yard. Unfortunately we heard the place is going to be up for sale. This is a cute little backyard winery with live music and a food truck on Friday evenings. It's a house in a neighborhood, but there is good signage so that you don't miss it. The employees were all so nice and seemed to have a great time while giving tastings and helping decide on wines. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. If you get there on time or early for live music, you'll get a seat. Otherwise, feel free to bring a picnic blanket or a lawn chair to hangout, drink, and eat. There is food prepared by the winery on all days, except when they have a food truck. When they have a food truck, there aren't any charcuterie boards, pizza, etc. I noticed a cute table of older ladies who brought their own chocolate and popcorn for snacks with their wine, so I would think to bring that the next time I come. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I'm a bit of a wine-o, and I didn't love the wine. I did, however love the wine slushee mixed with the frozen Marguerite slushee! Stopped on a whim at this local, in town winery. We were surprised they had live music that night! The guitar player was awesome, and really got the crowd involved with the music. We shared a bottle of the red blend. Very tasty. Not sweet, and not too dry. The other 3 in our group enjoyed warm, mulled wine. It had just the right amount of spice. The offer some snacks, cheese and crackers. The staff was busy, so we didn't get to learn too much about the winery itself. But would like to go back and explore the grounds. Wyandotte winery is a very unique place. I explained it like a hole in a wall to my friend and she couldn't get over it being someone's house. So let me explain this better, there is a retail area on the left side of someone's house and they make wine there and sell it. When you walk into the winery, you see a little retail store and they have frozen wine slushees, wine list and a small plates including cheese plate, some pizzas and a hummus dish. The place is very cute and I like going but to meet people at this venue, it is not really a thing as the groups kind of stay to themselves. There is like one person working the entire place but in the summers, it is so much better as their patio is soo nice. There is live music on Fridays and food trucks on Fridays as well. Parking is small but they have overflow at the church next door. Definitely an experience and I have a great time but it is still in someone's house read more

This winery is a great little gem nestled in a residential neighborhood. We stop in every time we are in Columbus. The first time we went we were very confused because it looks like someone's house (which it is). Half is the winery and the other half is where the owners live. We stopped yesterday and they had live music on the patio and a food truck in the driveway, which was an awesome surprise. I had a hard time finding a wine I liked, but the bartender was very patient with me and let me try several before I chose. The only downside I would say is parking. Apparently the church no longer lets them use their lot as overflow so we had to park on the street in front of someone's house. read more

Love this place! The wines are excellent and so is the customer service. My all-time favorite is the cranberry harvest wine. I'm usually prefer dry wines but I really enjoy this one. The oldest winery in Central Ohio can be found in the middle of a residential neighborhood. It was there first and then the houses sprung up around it. I was here for a dating event which included a tour of the winery and a private tasting of four wines. Variety plate of cheese and crackers was supplied with the wines. The owner was lovely and it's easy to tell winemaking is a passion. It's a way to get people together, have fun, and make good memories. No wine snobs allowed here. The magic happens in the lower level and can comfortably accommodate a dozen or so people. Any more than that and it would be difficult to hear. We were provided a list of wines included with the tasting which I have since lost. If you have flavors you like in your wine they will provide recommendations. They do sell the wines and accoutrements so this is a great way to shop locally for the wine lover in your life. read more

This place is awesome! We were greeted by three beautiful ladies on our first time coming inside the restaurant. Valerie, the owner explained to us how membership and wine tasting goes. She is very charming and charismatic. We ordered 10 wine to taste. And when she brings out a bottle, she explains each wine as if the wine fluid circulates like it's in her own blood. My daughter, and mom stopped by here Saturday afternoon as it was a beautiful day and we knew they had a patio. Tastings are $1 per pour or $19ish for a bottle so pretty reasonable. If you expect this to be like Coopers Hawk, Wine on High or a Napa vineyard, you will be very disappointed. Wyandotte is cozy, no frills and relaxed so don't expect a modern or fancy wine experience. I never realized how close I lived to a winery so I'll definitely be coming back. I did a wine tasting of 4 wines but the only name I remember is Sweet William and forgot to take a picture of the menu. The overall experience was very relaxing and the ladies who poured our wines were very friendly and helpful. My friend and I also ordered the wine cake trio which was delicious. This is by far my favorite winery in the Columbus area! I think the welcoming and inviting atmosphere has so much to do with it. Very comfortable. I've been here in a variety of groups - with my wife, in a large group, for special events. I always have great experiences. The wines vary greatly across the board but I haven't had a bad wine here yet. Whether you're seeking something sweet or something dry, the winemaker can please your palate. I've bought several wines from here, but being a "sweet" fan, my favorites have been Grandstand and Sweet William. You'll find this place is a bit off the beaten path, but worth the trip. Had the Gewürztraminer and the Our Heritage (Malbec blend) and we both kept passing them around at the end just to get them choked down. Do your homework concerning pricing, for if you find something you like and you're going to get a couple glasses, might as well get a bottle. Not sure if there's a corkage fee. Located in a residential plot off Cherry Bottom, this winery brings a rustic cool to a domesticated setting. Made on-site, their selection features from 100-percent apple, raspberry, cranberry and pomegranate concoctions to dryer grape Blancs, Sauvignons, Merlots, and blends. I had a glass of apple and a glass of raspberry wine which I found to be deliciously sweet but yet had a true wine texture, differentiating, them from supermarket gut rot. I followed up with a port that was delicious and carried a heavy kick. They also carry food which I did not sample. Wyandott is in a ranch style house. Driving up to it at first is a bit awkward as you feel like you're trespassing on someone's property. Fortunately there is ample signage to help guide you. The exterior of the house is lined with pretty, Griswald-rivaling array of Christmas Lights. You walk in a typical residential front door. The interior is basically a home redesigned. There are tables in the dining room, and a bar at the kitchenette that seats two. They have made good of the home fixtures. Beyond is a small living room repurposed as an event space. Here we sat to listen to some acoustic music. They have many events here. The prices are good; five dollars a glass for most flavors, and bottles under $20. You can have tasting for a buck each, those they do limit that during some events. The service is very friendly and on target. They say this is the oldest winery in Columbus, originating in the late 70s. I liked my experience an think it should be better known. read more

Any visit to an actual winery is not only about the wine, but also about the experience. On my two visits to Wyandotte Winery they provided us with truly awesome experiences. On our first visit, the wife and I popped into the winery for a tasting experience on a lazy Saturday afternoon. I mean, the winery has only been a few miles from where we live since the 1970s . . .I guess it was about time. During our tasting we were introduced to both the wines as well as the family operating the winery. The sons poured our wines, educated us on the process, the history of the winery and the unique labels painted with local scenes. While they do not grow their own grapes, Wyandotte does make an effort to use some Ohio grapes in their wines (the un-oaked Chardonnay, for example, is a true Buckeye state wine). That always gets an extra star from me. Wyandotte offers a very diverse selection of wines. They are all quality and you're certain to find one in your wine wheelhouse. I'm a "big red" fan and Robin just recently uncorked his 2011 merlot - spectacular! (prior to that, I was a Statehouse fan - the merlot/cab blend). We ended our first visit by trying Valerie's famous wine cake trio. Holy mother of all things good in life, that stuff was fantastic! I know what you're thinking, "wine cake" - yeah, that's what I thought until it hit the taste buds. Wow. Don't visit without trying it. For our second visit, we decided to attend one of Wyandotte's annual events - the Valentine's Day dinner. The dinner included six courses with wine pairings. Valerie started by telling us that she's not a professional chef and then proceeded to serve up six courses that truly rivaled some of the best cuisine I've had in Columbus. Her veal saltambocca was to die for! The marscapone stuffed pear . . .there are no words. Between courses, Robin even threw in a cello solo he wrote, performed and named after Valerie. The bottom line on Wyandotte Winery is that the experiences they offer up with a visit truly compliment and enhance the very quality wine coming out of the basement . . .uh, I mean cellar. Went here with a friend yesterday for the very first time. Came right in, got a table and waited... and waited... and waited. We had to track someone down, only to get attitude (lady with the really short redish/brown hair). We finally get menu's and then have to wait another long period of time for someone to come over and take our order. We asked the male owner a question about one of the food items and he said, "I don't know" and walked away. Atmosphere was about 2 Stars, nothing really to look at so thankfully we had great company in each other. During our tasting we had to flag someone down to continue with our tasting. About 4 wines into the Grand Tour the lady with the short hair just disappeared. Then we got the female owner who was just as bad (if not a little worse). She was very pushy, completely uninterested and horrible at her job. The wine was far from good... white wines were tepid or just room temperature and the fruity wines were basically fruit juice with a splash of real wine, I'm sure. I should have known it was going to be a bad experience when I was told we would use the same glass to try 10 wines... WTH, who does that? I'm by no means a snooty wine junky, but this place was so far below expectations and ridiculously terrible service that I will never go back and will tell everyone I know that they would be wasting their money and time. Granted it is cheap... but still wouldn't waste my money, time or energy every going back. read more

I am really torn about my rating for this one. And I suspect that after another visit I may change it. Long story short: We stopped in to Wyandotte on Saturday afternoon after wedding ring shopping. It was pretty busy and we ended up standing up at the two seat bar while we waited for a table to open up and the winery tour to return and grab their reserved tables. The bartenders were super busy but, while we were at the bar, gave us great service. It was a completely different story once we were seated at a table. We were seated for around 20-30 minutes and no one came by any of the tables on our side of the room. The tables on the opposite were all visited at least once during our stay. We got fed up, paid our tab for the tasting we had at the bar, grabbed a couple bottles, and left. The wines are quite good and priced really well. We both enjoyed our tastings and, when they were around, the staff was really good. My fiance said that this wasn't like his previous visits here but it was my first time and I didn't leave with a good first impression. I'll certainly buy their wines again but I don't know that I'll come for tastings again. read more

Since I seem to be at this place at least once a week, I should write a review. I love this place, and their wine. I would recommend taking a tour. These are offered on Saturdays and are personally guided the the winery owner Robin. He will gives great insight into the wine making process. Ask questions especially if you are interested in wine or wine making, and who isn't into wine! This winery has a wine for everyone taste buds, reds, whites, dry to sweet. You can do fiver generous tastings for 5 dollars or 10 tasting for 10 dollars. They also have events through out the week like game night, wine makers club, massages, and cook outs in the summer. The staff at Wyandotte Winery were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their wines. The place was cute inside but I was surprised when we arrived to see that the place is in a modified house. I took away one star because I wasn't blown away by the wine itself. I would recommend the Statehouse which is a cab/merlot mix, the Ice House which is a Gewürztraminer and the Graystone a Riesling. Over all it was a great experience, just not a fan of Ohio wines. Oh one last note.. parking is limited and it seems to be acceptable to park on the grass when the 5? spots are taken. read more
