I've probably driven by this place a dozen or so times, as the tour group I use operates out of Connecticut, and this is on the way. But it's always in the early morning or late at night, and I was never able to try them. An awesome pizza. What a pleasant discovery this was. I went here because I had seen advertising for it and I wanted to give it a try. It was pretty full, even on a Friday afternoon, which was a good sign. In another good sign, the menu is not gigantic, so they're doing a few things and usually doing them well. That was certainly the case with the food today. As a note, the interior is what you'd expect from a pizza and grinder place. Some booths and tables, plus a bar area that I only glanced into that also appeared to have tables. The service was amazing. Attentive, friendly, fast, answered any question and anticipated needs. The food ordered was a French onion soup, a fried chicken grinder and fries, and a 4-piece broasted chicken dinner. - French onion soup: very flavorful, complete with crouton and cheese, in a crock. One of the better French onion soups I've had. - fried chicken grinder: I really enjoyed the bread here, crispy crust (it was toasted) but a give so you weren't having to power through it. Proportionate toppings, and the fried chicken cutlets had flavor in the breading plus were juicy. A real joy to find good grinders like this. The fries were all crisp, no soggy ones, and no burnt ones. - broasted chicken dinner: wow! I was blown away by this chicken. It was so moist, the coating was thin but tasty, I was sad when I got full and had to take the breast piece home. I can't recall a time I've had chicken this successful, that wasn't rotisserie. It comes with a starch and a green (I didn't end up getting my green now that I think about it), but I didn't eat much of the onion tinglers as I was so focused on the chicken. Real home run here! I'm not sure I can be properly effusive on this. I also want to point out that, all this, plus two sodas, plus one cocktail, after tax before tip, came in under $60. In the current times and prices, this is a steal. So, 4 G's earns their five stars handily, hits every note just right, and now I'm sad I don't live closer. 2 years later and we still love this little pizza shop/pub restaurant. Prices are family friendly. You seat yourself at one of the booths or tables - they have about a dozen and also a bar area. They have great daily specials. Today they had fish and chips for $10. The garlic chicken pasta had lots of chicken and was very good. The mushroom and Swiss burger was cooked perfectly. Quick service and with a smile is often hard to find these days but our waitress was great! read more

The place is nice for a pizza restaurant. There is a bar area in the back in a separate room, which is nice. The food is good and portions are ok. The staff are very in attentive for a place with so many servers and busboys. Kind of over priced compared to other similar restaurants in the area. Over all its ok. This is a nice, family restaurant that serves good, satisfying food. The staff are helpful and pleasant. The interior is clean and neat, with a warm and homey feel. The food is ok. It has gone down hill in the last few years. I used to really enjoy the chicken broccoli Alfredo but it is now watery and much less flavor. The taco pizza I used to like used to be fresh and crispy but the last two times I got it the lettuce was greasy and wilted, the crust was doughy and meat sauce wasn't very good. The service has gotten much worse as the last two times they got my order wrong and I was missing food and had to wait an additional 15-20 mins at which point the food I received first was cold by the time I was able to eat. read more

If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend checking this place out. You could say it's a bit of a hole in the wall place, but that adds to its charm. Their menu features a wide array of pizza, sandwiches and more. They also offer a full breakfast in the morning. When eating inside, the service is always friendly and prompt. On my most recent visit I was there during breakfast time. It was obvious that this was a busy time of day for them. We only waited about 5 minutes for a table and were served drinks right away. We ordered simple dishes- pancakes and French toast- and the food arrived to our table in under 10 minutes. Take out is good as well. It's easy to walk in and pay for your food right at the counter. We eat here usually every day sometimes twice, lunch and dinner. The service is great, friendly staff, it's our go to place. The food is great with a great variety in daily specials. I never was a fan of soups but, they got me hooked onto their soups, they have at times Italian Wedding Soup, Rhode Island Clam Chowder and Corn Chowder etc. Their pizzas are great, unusual crust, delicious! Right when we walked in, my mother and I were told we could take a seat anywhere by a cheery server. It was all downhill from there. We sat down at a booth and waited between five and ten minutes for a menu. We looked over and all of the wait staff were just hovering around the cash register. Some even looked over in our direction. Someone finally realized we didn't have a menu or water and came over. It took equally as long - if not longer - for a server to come back once we had our menus. It was a very basic menu - grinders, pizza, pasta, soup and salad. Nothing really stood out to either of us. They gave us free bread for the table at least, but it was only four small slices - very unimpressive. We both ordered the baked cheese ravioli with one meatball. My mother also ordered a tossed salad. After a bit of a wait we received our "cheese wads" in an extremely hot metal plate. It literally was frozen raviolis you can get at Walmart for $1 a bag with some generic-tasting sauce ("maybe water-ed down Ragu," said my mom) and a HUGE amount of mozerella on the top, covering the entire top of the dish, which we both shoved aside ("tried to"). My mom's salad never even arrived so my mom asked that it be removed from the order, seeing as we already got our dinner anyway. The music playing was very dated and distracting to me. It would go from songs an 80 year old would pick at a wedding to like Bible-thumping music screaming about Jesus. It truly took away from the meal. The atmosphere was just so lackluster. It was just a bland place with bland food ("and a pretty nice staff, although not attentive"). Overall, the food was super underwhelming. I could have made it myself, but better, because I wouldn't put that disgusting cheese on the top. My mom noted it was sticky and hard to get off of the ravioli. So it was obviously some cheap cheese that melted like wax onto the food. The meatball was pretty good, but it's strange to only have one. My mom and I both felt a little sick after. It was just really cheap food. I think we both agreed we would rather have paid a little more for real pasta or somewhere with a bit more care and passion put into their dishes. Disclaimer: This was a horrendous and gross experience from an ill managed restaurant. My boyfriends dad ordered a cheese pizza from this place, as we are locals and live down the street. He went to pick it up, got home, and opened a pizza box that was a large piece of dough prefaced by a soaked, greasy cardboard layer. You would need the jaws of life to get this pizza/slop out of the box. After a failed attempt to salvage the pizza in the oven, he decided to bring it back and got the full story. Thunderstorms had been hitting the area for a couple hours, and apparently, 4 G's was sending uncooked pizza and chicken to customers as a result of a power outage. ...knowing...that said foods were uncooked. Talk about negligence! Will not be returning, I value my health and well being. The guy on the phone asked me all the right questions to get my sandwich built the way i want it. He spoke in a voice that i could understand, not like a high speed auctioneer like the last place i used to go. The food used to be outstanding. The last few times we ordered online because my wife is pregnant they have sent completely unacceptable burgers and another time a completely black hotdog. Their excuse is that they are really busy. Tonight, all of the food was wrong and the French onion soup had a huge hole in it and spilled all over me and my foyer. The driver said they gave it to him like that. And suggested I call and complain. So I did. They refunded me for a burger and the soup, but still, we paid 87$ for the worst food man. Best pizza in the area. The Hawaiian pizza with the maraschino cherries is a must try! I usually am not a fan of Hawaiian pizza, but it is one of my favourite offerings here and I pass up my regular favourites for this one. The wings are also great; we love the garlic parm wings and BBQ. I LITERALLY turned down a gift card that someone tried to give me, because the food here is so bad. When I got home and started eating it, I found that the dough in the middle was completely uncooked. A while later, my mother bought some clam cakes, and couldn't bring herself to finish them. The food here is okay. It's the service that I'm iffy about. I was visiting Connecticut and my dad recommended to my family that we come eat here. We walked in on a Friday night, it wasn't busy. I saw at least 6 or 7 staff members at the front counter, some of them were just talking to each other and some of them were bustling around trying to get pizza orders in - I guess they get a lot of to-go orders? Despite the number of staff it still took us awhile to get seated. We were just standing there awkwardly waiting to be seated. No acknowledgement from staff, no eye contact, nothing. Okay...typical northern hospitality I guess? Either way, strike 1. Finally an employee at the counter asked, "Are you guys all set?" No sir, we literally just walked in? At that point I wanted to leave but decided to stay because of my father's recommendation. It took additional time for us to be seated but eventually they made it happen. There is plenty of booths for seating and there is a bar area in the back with a few large tables for bigger groups - though I would say these tables can only accommodate a group of 8. We were seated in the bar area at one of the larger tables. This area was a little busier than the front but not by much. But it took us another 20 minutes to even be acknowledged by staff. Now, I normally wouldn't knock them for this because someone had a medical emergency in which EMS had to be called. I understand times like that are stressful, and I can understand the long wait because the focus absolutely must be on stabilizing the patient. But there was one server in the bar area walking around, socializing with other customers, standing there and casually talking to them, bringing them their drink orders and food, etc. But she didn't even acknowledge us. Once again, no eye contact, nothing. Honestly it was overall uncomfortable because it felt like she was purposefully avoiding having any kind of interaction with us. She had time to talk to other customers about random topics, but couldn't acknowledge us and inform us that it will be a bit of a wait due to a medical emergency? Even if she wasn't supposed to be our server, it would have been nice to know. Strike 2. We felt uncomfortable trying to get the attention of the server in the bar area so my dad had to ask someone at the front counter if they could please take our order just for our drinks. Finally, a different server came to us and she was much more pleasant and friendly. She informed us about the situation and apologized for the wait. We were able to put our orders in and everything went smoothly afterwards. Their menu has a lot of options. This restaurant focuses moreso on pizza, but they do have pasta, seafood, grinders, and other dishes as well. Most of us ordered the fish & chips. On the menu it states that all seafood dishes come with your choice of potato or pasta. There wasn't a section describing what choices of potato or side pasta you could get, but most of us decided to get fries as our choice of potato. My mother opted for a side pasta which was spaghetti (the other noodle option is penne) with marinara sauce (meatless). My brother opted for Asian sweet chili wings. The food did not take long to come out. Overall, the food was okay - pretty decent. The fries had a good texture. The dish is served with two pieces of fish. The fish was not as crispy as I would have liked, but still okay. My mother's pasta tasted like what you'd expect - spaghetti with marinara sauce. Kind of reminds me of the spaghetti you get as a side option at fast food pizza joints in the mall food court. It's alright. My brother enjoyed his wings. Service was good throughout the rest of the meal and our server once again apologized for the wait and told us "things are not normally like this" at the restaurant. She even comped our extra order of fries for the inconvenience, so that was really nice on her part. The server I previously mentioned who never acknowledged us finally spoke to us and asked if she could clear up the plates from our table...how convenient. Overall, the food here isn't bad and I certainly hope things are not always this way at the restaurant. To be honest though, as a person of color I felt uncomfortable at first. Maybe it's unrelated, but to see the other server speak with other customers and be friendly with them but constantly turn her back on us and avoid eye contact - not even speaking to us until the very end is off-putting and doesn't look good on part of the establishment. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2 is because our actual server saved the day and she was very friendly and kind. Definitely put us more at ease and made us feel more welcome, so I'm grateful for that. I might give this place benefit of the doubt and come back, hopefully things will be better. read more

I can be very picky about my food because I have had throat cancer and eating anything overcooked or dried out is almost impossible. Daily specials are bizarre concoctions like someone only caught a portion of the TV cook show. Many items are frozen pre-made, like the pot pies, spinach pies, and "chicken fried steak". The mashed potatoes are instant which I don't understand when you have baked potato on the menu. Lots of unfortunate shortcuts.
