4 Rivers Smokehouse is a great fast-casual bbq spot and we decided to come by for lunch as a family. The line was not too long and we were able to order quickly. We got a variety of things from their menu to try. The kids meals are perfect portions and my kids were satisfied after. I personally tried their bbq melt with 2 sides (mac and cheese, baked beans). I loved everything, but the bbq melt was interesting.. not fully warmed up so some parts were cold. One cool part of our experience was that if you are pregnant you get a free treat of your choice. At this point I was extremely pregnant and the worker noticed and told me about that. I was surprised I could get any dessert even the big ones. I ended up going with their m&m cookie warmed up. The cookie was heavenly. I wasn't expecting much since I primarily view them as a bbq spot, but I definitely want to try more desserts in the future. Overall: 4.5 stars - easily would be 5 if the bbq melt wasn't half cold! read more

Unfortunately I was not impressed with my latest and first time visit to 4 Rivers. The food being served looked unappetizing at the cafeteria style service area. My brisket was dry and not impressive, taste was weak and it just wasn't great. The pulled chicken had a super sweet sauce which was overwhelming. Sides were a favorite despite all of the food being served luke warm. My three friends also complained about barely warm food. Desserts were redeeming, I tried the banana pudding which wasn't traditionally made by any means but I enjoyed their take which included chocolate sauce and very chunky pieces of banana. It was an okay visit but unfortunately I will not be back. read more

Darn, not impressed anymore. We ordered ribs and he said they were dry and I ordered the brisket which was kind of cold. We went there for lunch. My wife and I shared a brisket combo with two sides plate. It was very good! The brisket was very moist and full of flavor. The beans were good and tasted perfect! 4 Rivers is a brand that started as one restaurant in Orlando and grew into a viable multiple location brand. We had catering from here, and while I cannot comment on the ambiance or service, I will say that the barbecue was good. I enjoyed the pork, brisket and sausage from here. Visiting the area when we came across this spot and saw the reviews were decent and close to the hotel. Service was good, food is horrible. As a native Texan, this was a complete insult to Texas barbecue. This was some of the most unseasoned barbecue I've ever tasted in my life. My husband and I both had chopped brisket sandwiches. His side was fried okra and baked beans. He said they (okra) were hard as rocks. I don't eat fried okra so I didn't try them, but I did try the baked beans and they gave Bush's baked beans with a touch and I do mean a touch of seasoning. Mine was Mac & cheese and greens. Mac was an awkward color which immediately let me know it was probably from a can. And I know Glory greens in vinegar when I see them and that's exactly what they were. 4 Rivers is my favorite smokehouse in town. I first fell in love with them over a decade ago in Orlando before they started opening here. I have certain items I get routinely and those items are always perfect but I think the trick is knowing what to get. I personally love the moist brisket. It is always incredibly tender and well seasoned. I also love the baked beans, bread pudding, sweet potatoes and Mac n Cheese. The fried pickles and fries are usually kind of soggy so I pass on those. The ribs are good. They have a nice pull. I like that they don't automatically cover them in sauce. I also really like the burnt ends and they are covered in sauce but they are good so I just get them when in the mood for it. I really like their sauces. They have a great seasonal pumpkin barbecue sauce that I really adore and wish they would bottle. The service is always good. The employees have always been wonderful and welcoming and I will continue to return. read more

We came swiftly after church and beat the crowd. It was our first time. We ordered the meats: brisket, the turkey, the chicken. They were all so tender, juicy, well seasoned, and melted in your mouth delicious! This is what I needed in my life. The sides: collard greens were great too, they had almost a hint of sweetness which I didn't care for but I still inhaled them. The mac and cheese was ok, creamy almost a little too wet. My toddler didn't eat it but they got ate by someone. The fries were incredible, they don't look like they'd be anything special but trust me. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside like they were fried twice or had a light batter or something. Idk how they did it. The dessert was out of this world, the salted caramel bar. My son finished his Cuban, which was larger than his head, before any of us could sit down to eat. The younger boys didn't finish their grilled cheese but the bread was too big and the cheese wasn't really melted anymore when they got it. Kids are simple creatures. This bbq is the best I have had since leaving KC! Seriously, we live in Orlando and drove up to Jax just to eat 4 Rivers Smokehouse! We had the Messy Pig, bbq beans, mac and cheese, fries, chicken strips, grilled cheese, and Texas Destroyer. My kids love dips and they 10/10 recommend the ranch, spicy bbq sauce, and mustard bbq. Highly recommend checking out their bakery after you eat. We had the Texas sheet cake, John's chocolate chip cookie, and the brownie. I got pictures of what we had left. I ordered a 2 meat rib platter with brisket as my second protein, macaroni and collard greens. Overall everyone enjoyed their food. My ribs were fairly tender, the brisket was juicy, my greens had a heavy garlic base but still good, and the Mac was very cheesy. The takeout area is separate from the restaurant seating. You order in line cafeteria style and seat yourself. You have a choice of indoor and outdoor dining. This location was clean and running smoothly considering the lunch rush. We got 2 platters to try each meat, Mac n cheese, cornbread, fries and bbq beans. The only side that was good were the beans, tasted like they had coffee in them but good. The Mac was watery with no flavor, cornbread was dry and flavorless. The fries were ok. The turkey was dry as could be and the meats in general had zero smoke flavor nor smoke rings. Yesterday tried to order through the app didn't want me to. Finally I got through to a machine at the restaurant that said they were busy helping other customers. It came back and said that five or six times then it said just leave a message and will call you back so I did but they never did so my son went down and went in. The place was totally empty. My husband and I are in town visiting family and we were looking for something different to try (that we don't have in MD, where we are from). We found this BBQ place. It's very good! It is similar to Misdion BBQ, however, it has a different vibe. I had the pulled pork with baked beans, Mac n Cheese, and corn bread. My husband got the same, except he also had the fried okra.
