Every time I come to Jacksonville from now on I will make this my stop. The atmosphere with the bar is incredible and just fun. The food was spot on, the specialty fries loaded are worth a trip a lone. Had a drink at the bar and the bartender was fun and she held conversation with who ever wanted to talk.

It's been 6 years since we last visited Jacksonville & our 2019 trip left us with the Bearded Pig as the highlight. We were thrilled to find that this business was not only still in existence, but had moved to a larger property to accommodate for their success! Harley was our server on this visit and she was exceptional. The food was as top notch as we remembered, enough to make us know that anytime we are in Jax, this is where we are coming. We had pulled pork, chopped brisket, burnt ends, collards, sweet potato fries--spectacular!

Bearded pig is one of the best bbq joints in jax, if not the best. Been there a number of times. Great selection on the menu for main courses and sides. Wanted to get some burnt ends but sold out by the time we got there. Got turkey sandwich with collard green sides and candyce got the pulled pork sandwich with waffle fries. Also got 2 orders of smoked wings to go Great special with the wings. Buy between 2 and 6 for only $10. 4 bucks off! Definitely will be back.

We ordered the San Marco platter for $36 and an additional side of Jalapeño poppers with 2 sweet teas for a total of $51. We were pleasantly greeted after after a brief wait in line to order. You select your own seating. We sat outside due to the amazingly mild temperatures. The San Marco platter comes with 2-3 ribs, 1/4 chicken, your choice of 2 other meats anf your choice of 2 sides. We chose brisket, sausage, slaw and sweet and sour beans. A sandwich roll comes with it and a few slices of pickle and onions. My sweet tea was good, but dont let it sit too long. Your ice will melt and make it to o much lime colored water. The slaw is a vinegar base with kale and cabbage shredded mix. It was good, but was missing the bite I was hoping for. The sweet and sour beans are best foe those with a blended palette. We appreciated them and may try to recreate them at home. Not too sweet nor too tangy(sour). Pickle slices were favorable. I only wish we had more than 3 slices. The meat all had a great smokeiness to them. The chicken leg quarter was tender and paired will the the Sweet and Tangy sauce option they provided. We had brisket that was both lean and another that had medium fattiness. Tender and savory. We had some of their mustard sauce with it. The ribs were very seasoned, fairly meaty and came clean from the bone in some parts. The thinner end of the rib was a little tough. The sausage was the star. It had an amazing smoke ring and shined all by its lonesome. The service was pleasant and attentive. The establishment was visibly very well kept. We left there thicker than a tick

Really great BBQ in Jax. Can't go wrong with anything but was actually surprised by the how good the chicken was! Nice outdoor area, quick and easy service even when it's busy.

I've had this place bookmarked for a while and finally got to try it! Came here after visiting the new Riverfront Plaza, it was about a 5 min drive so it was a nice option for after a fun fam day at the park. It was a busy Saturday night but I think the line went by for a busy night. The process of ordering and finding a seat was easy and smooth. Servers and workers are so friendly and hard working. We sat outside. I had my puppy in his bag carrier so it was nice to have the option to bring him to a family dinner with us. Theres heated lamps outside for the cold nights. The space had a cute wall where kids and draw on. My kid had fun playing around, making friends with another kid there. Very cute. Now, onto the food! I had the regular brisket sandwich. Without sauces: 4/5 With sauces: 5/5 Flavorful, melt in your mouth, bread was nice and soft. Sweet potato waffle fries: 5/5 I love that it was salty haha King sandwich: 4/5 My husband had this and this was his rating, he said he liked that all the toppings went well together. Kids hot dog: 5/5 According to my 6 yo old she loved it lol

Stopped in with my oldest daughter for some top notch 'cue after dropping momma and sister off at their Carnival Cruise. We reached up for the $38 beef rib and it proved to be a great choice. Fat rendered perfectly. So good. Wayne Mueller would be proud. Mac N Cheese got two thumbs up from my sweet girl. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is solid bbq surroundings. Complete with lighted Shiner Bock marquee sign!

We finally ate recently at the long awaited Beared Pig restaurant. We opted for the 2 meat and 2 sides combo each and enjoyed everything on the plate. The ribs were a little tougher than I like but everything had great flavor. I love that they put the sauces on the table so you can try everything. The atmosphere is fantastic, there is a lot of patio and indoor seating with TV's all around the bar area. I had a delicious margarita and they have some yummy looking cocktails.

For a bbq place to be so great with gluten free food is refreshing. There was plenty on the menu, lots of variety whether you like bbq sauce vinegar, northern, super spicy. The works. Staff were nice (although the one on the phone not so much). But not enough of a weird interaction to warrant a loss of any rating. Plenty of cool shirts and hats. They don't take reservations and they fill up fast on weekends! Safe for celiac disease foodies.

There's both indoor and outdoor seating, but if you can snag a table outside, it's a treat. The space is decorated in orange and gray, with wooden vents, bright red umbrellas, turquoise-painted brick walls, and a playful pink pig mural that reads The Bearded Pig. TVs show sports, and there's a long rectangular bar if you'd rather sit and chat with the bartenders. The service is wonderful--friendly smiles and lightning-fast attention. As a vegetarian, my options were limited, but they do offer a veggie plate for $15 with four sides. We went with coleslaw, sweet-and-sour four-bean salad, macaroni and cheese, and sweet potato waffle fries. They'll even throw in a roll if you'd like. We also ordered the pimento cheese with saltines ($6). The portion was generous--about the size of a large ice cream scoop. I paired it with my sweet potato fries, and it was delicious. My husband and I shared, and it was more than enough for us since we're not big eaters. The staff checked in on us several times, making sure everything was just right. Overhead, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats played, setting a great vibe. Another bonus: there's plenty of free parking right behind the restaurant. Definitely worth a visit--come give it a try!

We are doing an A-Z series and came here for our "B"! The place was super clean and good vibes. The service was excellent. They were very inviting as soon as you walked in. We opted to sit in the dining room room however during the summertime, we will definitely sit outside. The brisket was the best I have had in Jacksonville however the rib was lacking.. had an odd taste of lighter fluid to us for some reason. We posted our full review on TikTok and YouTube if you would like to check it out and follow along for our series. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZThucK7qj/ https://youtu.be/vBK6hX35H9E?si=oe8pSD2sDb5NaeDC

Stopped by Bearded Pig this past weekend. They do everything Florida BBQ and they do it well. You order at the front and they bring it to you. You can sit inside or outside (where they allow dogs-huge plus for us). It's casual but clean. TVs and a great bar inside. Reasonably priced with huge portions and every single one of their sauces are home runs. The poppers are to die for. Bacon wrapped, cream cheese, crispy delicious. The pulled pork was cooked perfectly and I used their hot sauce. Great soda fountain and mixed drinks as well. Happy hours every day. Highly suggest you give them a try. They're a go to for us whenever we're in the mood for BBQ.

What went well?!? The fatty brisket melted in my mouth! The seasoning was perfect! Those bacon wrapped jalapeños were what I was waiting for (and burnt ends) and they did not disappoint! I need 2 orders of those just for me. Burnt ends were sold out. Service was as fast as it could be, being the line was out of the door and all bar seating and outdoor seating were occupied. It doesn't matter if you are taking to go or dining in, you get in line, get a number placard, and wait for your order number to be called or delivered to you. If you sit at the bar, it's full service, however, first come first served. Now, if you were SMART and placed an online order, YOU've BEEN HERE BEFORE and know the ropes. The locals were popping in and out like rabbits gathering their orders. And even if they really did not place an order, they were validated and accommodated. Um-kayyyy! I see yall and you better take care of your people. The ambiance was good. Full bar stacked with folks. Outdoor dining area packed. Line out the door. 30 minute wait time for bomb ass food. I waited and WAS NOT disappointed! I'll be back tomorrow for my bbq fix to take to the beach!

I enjoyed the food; however, I think some details were missing or off for the price point. For example, the rib eye was requested for medium temp; however, it was medium rare and very chewy. The broiled ocean platter was kind of skimpy for the price point, and the shrimp & lobster diavolo were pretty good (though lobster wasn't very tender and slightly rubbery). I also wasn't given a pasta spoon- so had slight difficulty eating it. It took quite a while for us to get our food, approx 45 minutes? Our waitress was very kind and checked in- but forgot the lemons I had asked for- for the waters. We had inputted in our reservation request to not be in the center- and we were sat in the middle; though, 80% of the tables were empty. They let me sub a HUGE side salad for the fries. Enjoyed the vanilla ice cream a lot but not the apple tart. The tart was 90 or 95% cinnamon bun and i could hardly find apples. Fruit tarts are usually more fruit than crust; thats what i expected. Apple cinnamon bun eould be a better description. Beautiful ambience indoors. The food is delicious and seasoned to taste, you have to try dish of brussels sprouts, it had a sweet and light salty flavor. The restaurant was a small but elegant place but romantic for couples to enjoy and relax with dim lighting which met our expectations.

The overall restaurant looked clean and great for a date night. We weren't feeling too hungry so we ordered the following based on the waitress and our friend's recommendations: 1) Crispy Brussels sprouts 2) Duck Fat Corn Bread 3) House made pasta + sugo The crispy brussels sprouts were a bit undercooked and lacked flavor but if you prefer a less crispy Brussel sprout dish I would recommend it over the duck fat corn bread. The duck fat corn bread was disappointing. It was an odd combination of flavors that did not mix very well. The corn bread was mushy and the crisp Napa cabbage with the random ranch/spicy sauce combo did not pair well and left my mouth feeling confused. I had high expectations for their house made pasta as they had a pasta maker out for viewing. The pasta was overcooked and every bite was an interesting mix of flavors...some bites salty...some bites unseasoned. There was barely any meat present and overall we ended up not finishing our meal and wrapping up the night. The only good thing we had was the homemade soda that I did not get a picture of but I believe was the hibiscus one. Overall I would recommend this place for drinks but not dinner.

Ordered at the front counter and was greeted by a friendly young lady... good start. I went in planning to get the muffaleta off the specials board. They checked on it, but no luck... they were out of the cuts needed. I was pointed toward the Italian, but my buddy already grabbed that and I felt like being different. Noticed another special on the wall, a smoked brisket sandwich. Can't remember the exact name, but that's what I went with. Instead of chips or their homemade tots, I grabbed the balsamic roasted brussel sprouts as an appetizer. Tables weren't the cleanest and were a little wobbly, but nothing deal-breaking... we made it work. Food came out pretty quick and looked solid. Flavor-wise... a little mixed. The brussel sprouts were very flaky and leafy, almost crumbled apart. You really had to work your fork to get a bite. I was picturing larger roasted halves. Sauce was fine, nothing bad, nothing special. I'd give those a 3 out of 5. The brisket sandwich was interesting. The meat was very fatty and kind of tough to chew through. Not sure if that's just the cut or the prep. I ate about three-quarters of it. It wasn't bad, just didn't hit the way I hoped. Probably still thinking about that muffaleta. Another 3 out of 5. I'd come back, no doubt... but next time I'm sticking with what they're known for. Those cheesesteaks always look great, and that's probably the move. Today was about trying something different, and I'm glad I did... even if it didn't knock my socks off.

This is one of those places that we love but haven't been to in far too long. We both tried things that were new to each of us tonight as well, which was cool. I ordered The Ole Smokie, with everything on it and choose cheddar cheese. My first thought when it was brought to the table was "oh, I'll probably have to go at this with a fork & knife" but I decided to give it a shot as intended. I'm glad I did because the bread held up surprisingly well! As far as ingredients go, the brisket was good and smokey. There was a good mix of everything else and more than enough cheddar. My wife ordered the Chicken Cheesesteak. She also had a choice of cheese and she picked whizz. The thing that separates this from what people might expect is that it's chunks of chicken, not shredded chicken. She said that's not a bad thing at all, just a change from what some might exoect. She thought it was a welcome change. She liked their cheese whizz a lot and liked the roll as always, so she was glad she tried it. It's worth noting that both sandwiches were big enough that we both took half of each home. I didn't get the name of the two people that were working there this evening, but I'd still like to give then a shout out. They were both incredibly patient with the customers ahead of us and they didn't make us feel rushed even though we were there fairly close to the time they close on Friday evenings. Another good visit to Clarke Bros. Here's hoping it doesn't take us so long to get back here again for the next visit!
