    DINNER IS SERVED
    Delaney S.

As a southern girl I love bbq and the southern fixins. 4 Rivers provides just that. This is a great location. It offers plenty of parking, a wrap line for ordering, a large dining room area, and a self serve area for fountain drinks and to go containers. Plus there is 2 separate areas inside to get a sweet treat. I like to get here for an early dinner around 5ish to skip the dinner rush that tends to happen. I enjoy ordering the 2x2 plate where you can choose 2 different meats and 2 sides. Plus I like to add a jalapeño cornbread. For meats, I chose the burnt ends and pulled chicken. The burnt ends are my favorite with a good smokey taste. The pulled chicken was a big portion. For sides, I got fries and green beans. The fries are crispy and even more delicious dipped in the sweet BBQ sauce. The green beans are southern cooked with bits of meat in it. My boyfriend ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries and Mac n cheese. He loved it. Thats normally his go to order. Thanks 4 Rivers!

My husband and I stopped in for lunch after 12 noon on a Friday. It was busy, but not too bad. We got our food, then we picked a place at one of their long tables, of which there are two. There are also several booths and other seating inside. Outside, there are picnic tables under the roof of the establishment, along with a place to fill your fountain drinks and condiments, and the restrooms are there. ( Inside, near the fountain drinks are some containers for food, along with bags, if you find that you want to bring home some of your meal!) Our food was tasty, and we were content with the amount of food that we received. Husband had the brisket, fries, baked beans, and cornbread. I had the tacos, smokehouse corn, and green beans. The staff was friendly. A manager and another employee stopped by the table to check on how we were doing.

Bigger doesn't mean better. I appreciate the business aspect of expansion and wanting to make your brand available to as many people as possible, but there's always a tradeoff and that trade off is what made 4 Rivers originally one of the best bbq places in Orlando. When they opened up on Fairbanks back in the 90's/early 2000's there was a line out the door and you had to stand outside to eat your bbq. There was a lot of love and passion in the food. It's turned into an assembly line of cut and paste food sent out to deliver the lowest common denominator. It's a shame, but I guess also inevitable.

My go to every time I crave good Bbq. I always get my favorite because I know it's going to be hot when I order it - bbq pulled pork quesadilla. Any go wrong with the sides - baked beans, green beans, Mac n cheese, French fries and of course the bread pudding! Don't skip on the bbq sauces. Pro tip: mix all three (signature, hot and ku for a banging bbq sauce

Tried 4 Rivers mainly because it's close to home, and overall it was just... okay. Not terrible, but not something I'd go out of my way for again. The highlight for me was definitely the baked beans. They were easily my favorite item, flavorful, comforting, and honestly the standout of the whole order. I'd get those again without hesitation. Unfortunately, the ribs my partner ordered were really dry and disappointing, especially for a BBQ spot that's known for its meat. That was a letdown and kind of overshadowed the rest of the meal. For BBQ, that's a pretty big miss. Overall, it wasn't horrible, but it also didn't impress us enough to make it a repeat takeout spot. Convenient if you're nearby and craving something quick, but we probably won't be going out of our way to try it again.

This is the best 4Rivers location in my opinion. The food is consistently good, service is great, and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I appreciate that there's a handwashing station aside from the bathrooms, because BBQ gets messy! Portions are pretty generous and we always have enough to take home. The collards and the mac and cheese here are pretty solid sides. I would avoid the green beans since they look like they just come out of a can. The BBQ itself is pretty tasty and a general crowd pleaser. I know everyone has pretty strong opinions on BBQ, but 4Rivers is usually a safe bet for me if I'm coming in with a large group of folks who are just hungry and looking for good food. I'm sure there's always a better BBQ restaurant somewhere, but you can't deny that 4Rivers is a solid place. 4Rivers is also one of the few places that offers a vegetarian option for BBQ, which is always a plus in my books.

We love 4 Rivers and this time we visited their drive through at this location. It is convenient especially after a long day at work. I ordered a 2 by 2 which is two meats and two sides I decided to just have the sausage, and my husband had turkey (he said the turkey was dry) and sausage. To accompany that we had coleslaw, collard greens and green beans. Everything came out hot (survived the 20 min commute home) and well portioned. I enjoyed the sides. Their collard greens are never bitter and they come with bits of meat. The slaw is my husband's favorite, and we both enjoy the green beans. Overall 4 rivers is the place to go for quick bbq their sauces are great as well. The drive through service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant has a family friendly vibe and although I did the drive through one can always tell the place is clean and comfortable. Ample parking space, an outdoor seating area and plenty of seating in their main dining area. We'll be back, just work on the turkey, it wasn't tender this time around.

Talk about good food and even better customer service. This was my first time visiting this 4 Rivers Smokehouse location, and the customer service lived up to the trophy case full of awards they proudly display -- truly impressive! Everyone was friendly, helpful, and energetic, making my visit even better. I've always loved coming to 4 Rivers because the food never disappoints. Everything is packed with flavor -- the burnt ends, cornbread, ribs, chicken -- all absolutely delicious.

Poor customer service. Never was asked how my meal was and did not address my pricing concerns.

I attended a business function and they had the event catered by 4 Rivers. Now, full disclosure, I have been to the 4 Rivers location on University Boulevard before and while I found it okay, I did not think of that location as anything particularly impressive. For this event, they brought in pulled pork, pulled chicken, macaroni and cheese, green beans, and bacon wrapped jalapeño peppers. I have to say that overall, I have to say that I found it pretty good and superior to the food that I had at their east Colonial location. I really cannot comment on the service nor the ambiance as this was a catered event, but, as I said, I was happy with the food. Overall, this particular 4 Rivers delivered in terms of catering this particular event. I will give this particular 4 Rivers location four stars.

Cute 4 Rivers, and the original location! Food came out quickly and was a good price. Burnt ends were not fatty which was good, but sandwich could be a little messy. Sandwich had a lot of meat which was good though. The pulled chicken and bread pudding were really good too. They have lots of different BBQ sauces to try too. There were plenty of seating and plenty of parking, and staff were friendly and helpful. Very good overall!

Taste: 4/5 Value: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Pretty good barbecue at a more than reasonable price. I appreciate all the protein options, not a lot of BBQ places give you the chance to try a vegan meal. Most of our food was ready by the time we got to the register, but the items that took a little longer quickly met us at our table after we were seated. All the staff we spoke with were very friendly and inviting. Overall good experience.

Fantastic all around. Easy ordering and cozy atmosphere meets delicious food and vibes. Highly recommend their signature items and burnt ends. The service was very welcoming and relaxed.

First up were the breakfast tacos, loaded with chopped brisket, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese and salsa on housemade beef fat tortillas. These are a must. Those tortillas paired with their smoky brisket made them some seriously good breakfast tacos. Next came the biscuits topped with rich and creamy gravy, followed by the Filipino breakfast sandwich layered with longanisa sausage, a fried egg, crispy hash brown, American cheese and sambal mayo on a potato roll. Savory, spicy and messy in all the right ways. Of course, we couldn't leave without finishing with one of their giant cinnamon rolls covered in icing. They did still have the giant beef rib when we arrived. But at $36 a rib, we opted to go with the pork ribs instead. Each of the general protein servings is a half pound. So we ended up with a portion of the pork rib, the pulled pork and the pork belly. The pork ribs was really good, although my husband didn't like the glaze that they had on the rib but the meat was delicious. The pulled pork was very good not fatty, which is fantastic. The pork belly is cut into giant chunks. It is very tasty. It does have a decent amount of fat on it. This location also has a variety of sides to choose from. We opted for the collard greens and the mac & cheese. The collard greens were good. They could've been cooked a little bit longer. As some of the pieces were a bit crunchy. The mac & cheese was good although the cheese sauce felt a little gooey and we attributed to that they may use a rue to make their sauce. Overall - we enjoyed the food and would check them out again.

Today, though, I noticed them selling Japanese Wagyu as: Sake Infused Dry Aged A9 Kobe Strip. This is a very scammy way of selling a product. First, meat is graded broadly on three scales - USDA (choice, prime), BMS (beef marbling scale - common in Aus), and the Japanese grading scale. (A1-A5, with most high end steaks being A4 or the gold standard, A5). https://meatnbone.com/blogs/the-clever-cleaver/meat-beef-grading-system-understanding A9 doesn't exist. A BMS 9 could be an A5. But this is mislabeled. They have also used the term A11 in their instagram account. Maybe they are confusing BMS for A-scale, or maybe they are intentionally trying to make their product seem better than competitors. Furthermore, not all Japanese Wagyu is Kobe beef. Kobe beef refers to Tajima cattle raised in Hyogo Japan. The export of this beef is highly regulated to only certain restaurants and purveyors, who will display a seal and certificate certifying the origin of the beef. It is rare, expensive, and most importantly, Bush Brothers (Local Butcher's wholesale purveyor) is not certified to sell, nor do they use in any way, the term Kobe Beef. So it is incredibly likely that this product is mislabeled. This isn't illegal (Kobe beef doesn't have a TM in the US), but it is disingenuous. https://www.kobe-niku.jp/en/contents/certification/index.html https://instagram.com/bushbros Next, "sake infused"is incredibly confusing. Is it referring to the myth that Kobe cattle are massaged with sake? Is it referred to the use of koji (fermented cooked rice) which is often used as an aging accelerant? Or did they really take Japanese Wagyu and infuse (inject, soak?) with sake? And why on earth would you do that!? It would be like making sangria with a bottle of DRC. This product is likely a A5 strip loin (which Bush Bros. does carry) that has been aged. Market price would be somewhere around $175-185/lb. (An unaged cut would be around $150/lb.) When I asked for more information on the most expensive cut of meat in their shop, I was treated with disdain and a dismissive attitude. Neither member of the staff could answer my questions other than to say "It's the highest grade of Kobe beef." To charge $215 dollars for a grade that doesn't exist, for a steak that isn't from Kobe, with an aging method that seems dubious at best, is disingenuous and plays on a lack of consumer knowledge. If The Local Butcher themselves don't know the differences here, they shouldn't sell this product. If they do, they should be ashamed of themselves.

But I had an urge to find some fried chicken that is lightly battered and this place hit the spot. Located just off of Park Avenue and Fairbanks is The Hen & Hog. Got a 6 piece fried chicken anf a few sides which consisted of mac and cheese, fries and a pickled slaw. Juicy freshly fried and ever so gently battered chicken that was crisp with every bite. Definitely some tasty chicken. I really liked the slaw that had garlic onions celery and some other items but it cut through the savoriness of the chicken. Yes, i ate all of it to the bone. Wife also got chicken and waffles which she thoroughly enjoyed. Also had fried banana peppers with a pimento spread. Pretty nice combination. Staff was super helpful. They also have wings with a lot of great sauces to try. That will be my order for next time. Cant wait to come back.

We took our time scanning through all the options and I settled upon the cuban sandwich and my friend had a burger. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. The inside of the restaurant was cute. I really enjoyed the live stream of the cows grazing in the fields. The rustic vibe fit the brand great. It only took a short while to get our food. My cuban was great. The bread was nicely toasted. The meat was extremely juicy on the sandwich. My friend enjoyed the taste of her burger. We both thought the fries had nice crispiness. There were several families enjoying lunch inside while we were in here. I saw they had a brunch menu and think in my next visit I want to experience the chicken and waffles I keep hearing about.
