We were riding around trying to figure out where to go and we picked this spot. We saw multiple people leaving the restaurant and thought it had to be great. When we walked through the door we were greeted and directed towards the menu. What I like the most about their menu is that it's digital and there is plenty to pick from. The owner came out and spoke to us - after finding out that it was our first time he gave us some great suggestions. My favorite selection was the charcuterie board style bagel and lox (10/10). I was able to take the ingredients and pile them on! We enjoyed every bite of it. My wife had their biscuits and gravy - she thoroughly enjoyed that as well (10/10). We also had their fried chicken meal. I personally was not a fan of the Mac and cheese because it was super cheesy. My wife on the other hand ate all of it lol. The fried chicken was good. It was not absolutely amazing but it wasn't nasty either (7/10). The ambiance was laid back and chill - I loved the self service station for you to place your dishes after you were done. The owner is what helps make this place great too. He is straight to the point with a sense of humor. I'm from the Midwest and he reminds of people back home.

Friendly and informative staff, clean and spacious sitting area, fair prices, and great quality food! I loved the cheese on the burger, even cooled down it kept a nice creamy texture! Everything was great!

This was a scratch kitchen and it was good they had a lot of options. The owner works servicing guest and it's cozy and smalls I love biscuits and gravy and theirs was different it tasted like Spanish gravy different. The chicken was good like regular fried chicken cooked home. My husband was not a fan of the macaroni but I loved it it's white cheddar Mac he liked the coleslaw it was made different!!

I met some friends here for a quick lunch and it was ok. We arrived soon after opening; it was not busy so plenty of places to sit and service was reasonably quick. You order and pay at the counter, then your order is brought out to your table. It seems like it could be a nice place to hang out and grab a bite to eat, if you like the food. I wanted a bacon cheeseburger; however, it comes with American cheese, and I was told that I was not allowed to substitute the cheese or the fries. I generally avoid eating American cheese, so my option was a bacon burger. Thus, it made for a fairly mundane and pricey bit of bacon and burger patty with a tomato slice. I can't say that I would return for the burgers. The young lady that took my order and brought out the food was pleasant and polite. I did notice that the guy behind her seemed to be annoyed when I asked about substitutions. ***editing to add clarification on not being able to substitute the fries*** At the time that I wrote the review, I had forgotten that there was a lettuce shortage during the week of my visit. So, while I remembered not being able to substitute the fries, the reason was because the side salad was unavailable due to the lettuce shortage. While they do offer mac and cheese, potato salad and slaw as sub options, I needed something wheat-free and potato free, and I typically don't prefer slaw.

The Hen & Hog is a delicious and completely unpretentious brunch spot. The portions were a good size and the service was excellent. I love being able to support family owned businesses like this. We had chicken and waffles, a breakfast sandwich, and a salad (gotta have some greens lol) and it arrived quickly and hot. The owner even brought us a biscuit that was huge and fresh and so good. It's the little things that make Hen & Hog a Winter Park stand out.

Captain crunch French toast and a chocolate chip cookie

I got the Captin crunch chicken tenders they were delicious, the meat was juicy, the flavor was amazing. The homemade honey mustard (chefs kiss) and the chocolate chip cookie was amazing

Lunch before our plane ride back home. Came in and was greeted. Very friendly people, so many options, fresh food, quick service . I would recommend eating here. Compared to all the fancy restaurants this is the cherry on top. Cleared our plates, food was great even better the service was great!

Amazing. If I could give 10 stars I would. Family owned so the recipes are also what they take pride in. The service was incredible. Never once was our table ignored, the cashier took really good care of us and suggested alot about the food. Everything he said we tried and he did not disappoint. He told me that someone said "If I was on death Row the chicken and waffles would be my last meal" I got it and that's EXACTLY the perfect way to describe it. Do not miss this hole in the wall. It is themed so sweet and southern and the food really does it justice!!! Try it!! You won't regret it!

I ordered the hushpuppies $10 They were so good but its identical to the frozen bag sold at publix.... I would have loved to try the fried chicken but unfortunately you have to get the whole 6 pieces. $2 charge for "to-go" orders

    Fish and Chips $18

This is a sit down restaurant where you order at the counter and they deliver your food after giving you a table number. The seating area is passively clean and the kitchen is questionable from what you can see over-the-counter. The issue is in the quality of the food and the delivery of the service. Ordered a fish and chip sandwich which they said was made with haddock, and there was literally no fish within the breading. It was a breaded sandwich, empty of any haddock. Asked for tartar sauce and was told I needed to pay a dollar extra for it. Apparently the $18 I paid for the "no fish included" sandwich wasn't good enough to warrant an extra teaspoon of tartar sauce. Then the chef/owner or someone came over and commented "did you get enough tartar sauce." I don't need to pay for snooty arrogance with the service I can go anywhere and receive better food and better service.

I really wanted to love this place. It's a counter order experience, super cute decor - sort of modern country meets BBQ joint in Winter Park. I was helped by a very nice but very apparently new girl. It took a while for her to come help me because she had to make bar drinks for another order. I ordered the Bacon, Egg and cheese sandwich on a biscuit and was told they ran out of tator tots. she charged me extra for fries, even though the manager said I could sub. I also wanted just black coffee and they ran out of that as well, so I ordered a Topo Chico. When I pointed out the issue the overcharge issue, she didn't know what to do, so the manager dropped what he was doing on the line and came over to the cashier station. He seemed annoyed and berated her in front of me. Since he had to re-do the charge anyways I asked to remove the Topo Chico since I couldn't believe how expensive that was at $4 a bottle. He huffed away and said he'd have to fix in later so I awkwardly took my receipt and number and sat down. Sure it was clear she needed more training and help, but he should've fixed it and given feedback in private if he couldn't control his frustration in the moment. Many people train in front of guests and show patience and kindness. Doing refunds in the system isn't easy when it's your first week on the job (yes, I asked her). This is terrible leadership and it wasn't impressing me or making me feel like "Oh good he's getting what I need done." All I felt was empathy for the poor girl he humiliated. When he walked away I tried to give her a word of encouragement. I was nervous he wouldn't properly refund the first order, so I called my bank to ensure the original order cost was blocked and only the second one taken. That wasn't the only issue. I ordered the $12 Bacon, Egg, Cheese on a biscuit and didn't even take a photo. The biscuits are supposed to be a signature item and were flat and greasy. Egg was overcooked and fries were just OK. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere.

Nice little spot with plenty of charm and good eats! I would return for the chicken and waffles alone, and will be recommending it to all chicken and waffles connoisseurs that I know. Something I definitely give them praise for is that the sandwiches were actually big sandwiches that filled you, with a small amount of fries. Too many lunch places will give you the opposite, small sandwich and a mountain of fries. We considered both sandwiches to be knife and fork jobs, but maybe that's just being particularly neat eaters.

This burger gave me a whole new perspective on burgers, especially smash burgers. The seasoning was amazing, the cheese made the burger even better, and the special sauce added a subtle flavor that really helped it stand out. The bun was soft, flavorful, and tied everything together perfectly. Our bartender was fantastic and kept all of our orders straight. The hostess walked us upstairs to our reserved table for 10. The view across the restaurant was grand, but lively atmosphere and the high ceilings contributed to the challenge of carrying on a conversation. I could only talk with those who were seated close by. Shane was our server for the night, engaged with us, and kept the drinks flowing. We ordered a number of Deluxe fajita platters with massive amounts of steak and chicken. Both meats were grilled and seasoned perfectly. Copious amounts of tortillas and the fajita fixins. I really enjoyed the charred jalapeño and mushrooms. I ordered the chicken Al Carbón tacos, and enjoyed the complementary flavors of the smoked onions and the salsa cremosa. I was unable to make a reservation for this night, but walked in and was seated at the bar immediately. There are two hostess stands at this location. The first stand is at the door next to the Valet Parking stand and is for confirmed reservation seating. You are directed to walk further down the hallway towards the bar area for another separate hostess stand for walk-ins. We were seated at a nice two-top table close to the brewery room. (Note: we noticed a separate table inside the brewery which appeared to accommodate a small group and most likely requires a reservation to be seated there.) Kelly was our server and she was efficient, fun and very knowledgeable of the menu. She answered all of our questions, including explaining the ingredients of some of our selections. Our drink selections consisted of the frozen Getaway Car (vodka, sour cherry and maraschino liqueur) and the Woe Is Me martini (herb-infused Grey Goose with a pickled cherry tomato). The tomato made this martini stand out! The presentation of both drinks was memorable as was the taste of each. For our appetizers, we shared the Gatherer Salad (a zesty combination of baby greens, avocado, pickled beets, radish, goat, cheese and walnut granola with a herb vinaigrette dressing-outstanding!) and the Mushroom and Gruyère Beignets, set off by the pecorino cheese and the truffle aioli sauce. We easily could've had a second round of the beignets, but decided to go ahead and order our second course. For the second course, we shared the Pan Seared Redfish with summer vegetables, and the Steak Frites. The fish was delicate, light and the fennel broth made this dish a winner. The Steak Frites consisted of rubbed prime flat iron steak, garlic aïoli and bordelaise sauce-SO GOOD! The truffle fries were plentiful and, when combined with the sauce, resulted in a perfect accompaniment to this meal. For the final course, we shared the Black Forest Cake and the Peaches & Cream (caramelized puff pastry with peach jam, and mascarpone custard). Both desserts were the explanation points of the evening. At the end of the night, we told Kelly that we loved the combination of the "naughty and nice" pairings for this magical dining experience. (For example, the beignets and the salad, plus the redfish and the steak, allow you to both eat healthy and eat decadent.) A final shout out to the General Manager, Scott, who gave me an excellent tour of the outside beer garden (not occupied due to the rain that evening) and the major beer brewery facility next to it. TV screens are available in the garden, and would be an excellent party place for watching football this Fall. I think I have my next visit to The Ravenous Pig planned in the coming weeks. He passed away when I was a kid, and two summers ago, when I took my first bite of the steak here, my mouth watered... but so did my eyes. It was one of the strangest, most beautiful experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. For a moment, it felt like Dad was sitting at the table with us. To taste something so familiar, something I hadn't experienced in over twenty years, was surreal. That's not a compliment I hand out lightly. So we each had that For this visit, we started with the rock shrimp tacos, and they absolutely did not disappoint. They packed a nice little kick without overwhelming the dish, and we practically inhaled them. Of course, we had to finish the meal the same way we did last time: with churros. Somehow they were even better than we remembered. Crispy, warm, perfectly sweet, exactly the kind of dessert that makes you argue over who gets the last bite. My boyfriend ordered two Old Fashioneds, and I had two Cosmos. Both were delicious and definitely generous on the pour. I was a little concerned when we arrived for our 8:00 p.m. reservation because the place was PACKED for a Thursday night. We ended up waiting a bit past our reservation time. The hostess suggested we grab a drink at the bar, but that area was just as crowded, so we hung out in the lobby instead. The wait ended up being completely worth it because we were seated at the exact table I was secretly hoping for: the most perfect little corner window booth, straight out of a movie scene. It was the ideal setting for our last night of vacation. And then there was our server, Anton. Anton could teach a master class on waiting tables. He was efficient, funny, attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what he was doing. In a world where great service sometimes feels like a lost art, Anton was an absolute delight. The Ravenous Pig delivered once again: phenomenal food, excellent cocktails, memorable service, and one of those meals you'll still be talking about long after you've gone home. Definitely one of those sangrias where you're like, "okay, I'll have another one." Honestly, I liked everything we ordered. However, I was told by my partner that I am easily impressed. My only suggestion is to eat it there if you can. I took some home thinking I'd have great leftovers, but the food just wasn't quite the same the next day. Some things are just better fresh, and I think this is one of those places. Overall, really good food, plenty of seating, great drinks, and definitely a place I probably would have overlooked because of the location. Glad we stopped in!
