Short rib melt with a side salad and pickles
    Regine A.

Wow, my experience at 402 was exceptional. From the service to quality of food. This restaurant checked all the boxes for me. First of all, we came here on a weekend with no reservations. For this reason, we could've had a 20 minute wait, however the bar was self-seating on a first come first serve basis. My family sat there with no issues. The employees were welcoming, friendly and attentive. Ambiance is loud, there are TVs for corn husker games, sports, news, etc. The food was so delicious. My favorite was my short rib melt, it had mushrooms, truffle aioli, cheese, arugula, and well seasoned tender short rib. The sourdough bread was toasted perfectly. One thing they can improve on is the crab Rangoon fries. They were extremely tasty, however, I didnt really taste crab. They could be more generous with imitation or real crab. The cream cheese and sweet fire cracker sauce vibes were there. Just needed actual crab. Other than that -- I'd totally come here again! Just make reservations ahead of time.

402 Eat + Drink serves up a mix of comfort favorites and elevated plates, and our recent meal highlighted both ends of the menu. Burger & Fries The burger was stacked and hearty, with melty cheese and a flavorful sauce that kept each bite juicy without being messy. The brioche bun was soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together, and the fresh pickles on the side added a tangy crunch. Fries came seasoned just right which were crispy outside, tender inside. It was paired perfectly with the house ketchup. Seafood Pasta The seafood pasta was a creamy, indulgent bowl with shrimp and lobster mixed into a rich sauce. The portion was generous, and the flavors balanced nicely between the creaminess of the sauce, the sweetness of the seafood, and the little pops of spinach and tomato. Topped with fresh parmesan and served with garlic bread for dipping, it felt both comforting and slightly luxurious. The orchid garnish was a nice touch of color that made the dish pop. Overall Whether you're looking for a satisfying burger and fries or something more elevated like the seafood pasta, 402 Eat + Drink manages to hit both casual and refined in one menu. Friendly service and a relaxed vibe make it an easy place to settle in for a good meal.

Stopped in midday Sunday with my daughter for a little bite. I was happy to see it was happy hour however didn't end up participating. We were sat before another table but they got service and drinks before us. Excuse for poor service was due to the shift change, I suppose is understandable and worth noting if you're heading in on the weekend. I ordered a beer flight and she got grilled cheese. My beer flight came with 4 drinks and only 2 were fully poured. I got the jerk chicken salad and it was very nicely proportioned. At the end of the meal the beer flight was the Most expensive at $18 for 4 5oz pours. Compared to literally any other flight it was nearly double. I did ask the waiter to confirm and she did come back with a price adjusted tab but it really is worth mentioning $18 for a beer flight (20oz) is insane when any craft beer would be $8-10 maybe for 20oz. Anyway, happy they adjusted but seriously made me side eye a rather good spot.

Happened upon this spot while visiting Omaha and glad we did. Tried the margarita flight, so worth it, plus my fam had the street tacos (flower was a nice touch) and I enjoyed the meatballs. Overall good experience, menu has a lot of different types of food, likely to appeal to all, server was a little pre-occupied, but was friendly and we walked out pleased. Setting is in a cool mall with lots of shops, it was a little cold to wander so we stuck to a quick in and out for the meal.

    Grilled salmon tacos

Came here for a quick bite and it was delicious! They had a special for taco Tuesday, grilled salmon tacos that my server told me about. The tacos did the trick too, that with some hot tea for the cold day hit the spot. Service was friendly and decor modern. I'll definitely be back.

I have been here for dinner but never brunch. In fact I did not know they were even open for brunch. We had reservations for 10am and when we arrived the doors were locked and the time on the door stated they were open at 11:00am. I called the restaurant and after some confusion yes they are open at 10:00am. The signage is incorrect and there is no advertising for brunch which could explain why there were only 2 tables occupied for the first hour. They are missing such an opportunity. Plus there was no brunch menu on their site. The food portions were huge (enough for family style dining) and the food was very good. The eggs fluffy ( I could not tell you how many per serving- maybe 4 eggs although it says 2), toast thick and delicious, potatoes with a unique sauce (possibly aioli that was sweet), and the bacon crisp. I would say we would have liked to have known about the breakfast potatoes sauce ( description not on menu) as my husband and son would have preferred it not to be on. Pancakes were a disappointment. Dense and underdone and as you can see from the picture refrigerated piece of butter on top. Coffee was a little too bitter but looked good. Would I go back? For sure! My daughter had the special breakfast quesadilla and my son in law had biscuits and gravy that he liked. The staff are awesome and very attentive. In a city where everyone loves a good brunch 402 seems to be missing out on a profitable brunch opportunity simply by having an inadequate website and marketing failure.

    Happy Hour 2-5PM
    Diana J.

I've only stopped in for drinks and snacks, but our group had a nice experience on a Sunday afternoon. We were pleasantly surprised to find a weekend Happy Hour from 2-5pm, which included some cocktails, house wines and appetizers. We were able to get a table right away, which wasn't a surprise since we were there in the middle of the afternoon, between any lunch or dinner rushes. We ordered french fries and beverages. I just had a diet coke so I can't speak to the cocktails or wine, but my friends enjoyed theirs. The fries were piping hot and delicious, no notes. The only slight hiccup was that the happy hour menu said house wines, but didn't specify that the house Sauvignon Blanc (if I recall correctly) wasn't included, so we were charged full price for it. Not a big deal, just a bit confusing when the check arrived. The food that people around us ordered looked good,so I wouldn't mind returning for a meal next time.

Here is what I like about 402 Eat + Drink. Shareable portions. The elote fries were off the chart. Other items were also high quality. The server was attentive and sensitive to conversation, not interrupting, not overbearing, checking in when needed. No downside.

We had a date night and made a reservation using Resy and somehow it didn't get registered in their system. But upon showing them our reservation, they gladly showed us our spot (we did queue as it was a very busy Friday night). The server is great, the food is yums and we had a great night. I really like the seafood pasta as the portion is generous and the taste is good. The only critic I have is that the pasta is brittle. They're not long and all are in broken pieces. Apart of that, things are quite good :)

Popped in here to grab a quick lunch and started off by waiting to be seated for longer than seemed necessary- there was a line of about 3 other groups and no hostess to be found. Once seated it was clear they were understaffed. Our server took a while to appear and they have no uniforms or name tags so it was hard to identify who even worked there. Once we finally got an order in the food did come out pretty quickly and was hot and fresh and the orders were correct. Burger was okay, fries were crisp. Overall an ok experience but wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Was here once before, but walked out after looking over the menu. Tonight, because of the AMEX Resy credit, I said okay let's get a free $100 worth. I ordered the New York strip. I was not expecting a (literally) pile of food. Mashed potatoes, with the steak directly on top of the mashed potatoes, and the asparagus directly on top of the steak with brown gravy soaked and smothered over everything. Who mixes food like that. I get the menu said demi-glaze, but the menu did not say 3 cups of Demi glaze on top of everything and food mixed together like in a pig traugh. My girlfriend ordered the seafood pasta. Was more like a soup. Extra runny soup with mushy noodles. We didn't take anything home we just left it. There were three tables. Had to wait a long time for a drink order. Had to find someone to give me a steak knife (was not brought out to me) And had to beg for our bill. Time is money and we waited a half hour for our bill before we approached the bar where everyone was hanging out to ask "can we please get the check." 20 % turned into 10%. What kind of successful business does not have a margarita on the menu. I ordered a margarita, no triple sec, instead requested Cointreau or Grand Marnier. The margarita looked like a sprite when brought to me. Omaha has a nice Mexican population, just saying, add a good margarita to the menu I tried one of their fall drinks, puke. My girlfriend had one drink. Most of the time we had to swat fruit flies the entire time. $100 Resy credit or not. We will not be back. Two entrees, three drinks 10% tip. $123.78. The screen shot I'll show doesn't have the tip added in.

We met a group of friends here before attending a Christmas party. I was having trouble making a reservation beforehand on the app so decided to call and I was helped right away by a super-friendly employee and was able to secure a spot for the time slot we needed. The restaurant itself was decorated for the holidays and had an overall great environment. We were seated at a high top table and our waitress came over immediately. She was very personable and friendly! I decided to order a Cosmo (which was pretty average) for my drink and my husband and I split two entrees amongst the two of us. We selected That Chicken Sandwich and the Shorty Melt. Both of our food choices were very good and had great flavor. The chicken sandwich wasn't that spicy (which is always a relief to me) and had a nice balance with the cheese and aioli. I decided on the truffle fries for my side and they did not disappoint! My second drink was really good but it was $13, which seemed a little high for what it was (The Jingle Ball). It had a decorative ornament atop filled with the beverage which you poured in the glass yourself. I'm glad I didn't accidentally take the ornament because our server informed us that is was a $5 charge I also found it odd that they charge $1.50 to cut a sandwich in half. Overall, 402 was pretty good and I think I'd return, especially for their all-day happy hour on Monday.

    Sesame ahi tuna

I've loved this place for a long time now. They changed the menu so I had to stop in and experience a couple new items! Of course, the original Crab Rangoon fries is a must. The ahi tuna was flavorful. The salmon was rich and the risotto was creamy. The service was okay, and the bar service was a little slow. There were also no prices listed for bar drinks, which is never a fun surprise. This place is still one of my favorite restaurants in the Village Point area.

Just OK. Not really my bag. The sweet potato fries were really good, but that's about it. It can get quite pricey.

Who would have thought we'd find such a gem tucked away in a strip mall?…read moreWe discovered this bar online and decided to stop by for a few cocktails on a weekday evening. When we arrived, we were seated promptly and given time to look over the menu. There were plenty of options to choose from, with something to suit just about every palate. What impressed us most was that there appeared to be only one person working, and he was an absolute champ . effortlessly juggling multiple tables, crafting excellent cocktails, and taking the time to answer questions and make recommendations. Between the four of us, we sampled quite a few drinks and found every one of them fantastic. The cocktails were thoughtfully made, well-balanced, and showcased a lot of skill behind the bar.Great drinks, great service, and a pleasant surprise all around. This is exactly the kind of gem you hope to stumble upon.

I ordered an espresso martini, and the bartender mentioned he could make a salted caramel martini that wasn't even on the menu. It was decadent, perfectly balanced, and definitely strong--in the best way. It even came garnished with a Ghirardelli chocolate, which was such a thoughtful touch. Despite how busy it was, the bartender was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. I never felt rushed or like I was a bother, which really stood out. Excellent service, elevated cocktails, and a gorgeous bar, proof absolutely lives up to its reputation.
