Super pretty bar! There's tons of seating and a beautiful outdoor patio. My chocolate martini was delicious and cold. The bar menus are on QR codes. I liked that they had a good selection of games.

Back at Public House for an event. Reminded why I like it so much. Great cocktails. Reasonable beer selection, plus wines. Music can be live or via their sound system. I enjoyed them both. Staff is very chill and friendly. I enjoy them each time I'm here. Well worth the repeat business.

This is a great spot for boujee cocktails! Totally my vibe, and plenty to choose from. The atmosphere is nice and classy, not too loud, and a patio outside. Not very large (one bartender on staff the Tuesday night I came), but busier during a week night than I expected. I tried to order a few drinks according to the menu I found online, and was told that was outdated. So be prepared to look up the QR code and choose from an entirely different set of drinks. No problem, the one I got tasted amazing! Their happy hour is also a great deal for the level of drinks you get. You can order from Pulled BBQ (through their phone number) and they will deliver it here for free. We enjoyed barbecue with our drinks! I would definitely come back!

Quickly becoming a regular here! Love the cocktails, pear martini is my favorite. Mostly bar seating but I live for the comfy corners with benches and couches that this location offers. Two large screen tvs make it good place to catch a sports game. Even though there are two fire places, it has been too cold to fully enjoy the lovely patio. I can't wait to sit outside in the warmer weather! Bartenders are super friendly and sometimes they have doggies hanging around - I think there's no better welcome than that!

The Public House is a great place to stop for drinks! Creative, seasonal cocktails, local beers, and an amazing patio out back! The service is always friendly and it's a laid back, comfortable atmosphere. Parking is pretty easy in Rockbrook Plaza, and several great restaurants nearby to make a night of it.

Great place for Sunday afternoon refreshments! Opens at 3 which not many specialty craft cocktail places are open at this time. Added Bonus it's Happy Hour Sundays 3-7! I'm having the $6 Strawberry Lemongrass Mule that's made with Grey Goose Strawberry Lemongrass-never knew they had that variety. It is light & refreshing! They have lots of flavored mules to select from! If you're a sports fan they have 2 tvs at each end of the bar-today's football games are on but alternative music is playing in the background. Nice vibes here.

A summer cocktail, Sour Skittles. They didn't rip me off on the drink, I just already took some sips.

Super chill bar! It's got a new, clean, hip vibe to it. Plenty of parking nearby. They have a bunch of fun cocktails, they just put up their summer menu when I stopped by. The bartender is super nice and knowledgeable.

I've been hearing great things about this place for a while. My friends and I went for a "quick drink" after work. Four hours later we decided it was our new spot. The bartenders are amazing! They greeted us as soon as we stepped in the bar, the space was casual but also boujee! We really enjoyed the ambiance! ALL of the drinks were spectacular. We each started with a mule. The cucumber mule was so refreshing and tasty! We also loved the pineapple mango and wild berry. I've been on an espresso martini kick lately as well, so I had to try at least one! They were fabulous. Claire knows how to make an espresso martini and she was such a sweetheart. Logan and Chris were very friendly as well. We spent some time on the patio. It was very spacious and had multiple seating options. This will be our new happy hour spot!

Each time I pop in, the service has been outstanding. The dry dirty vodka martini with blue cheese olives just as great. Highly recommend.

Who would have thought we'd find such a gem tucked away in a strip mall?…read moreWe discovered this bar online and decided to stop by for a few cocktails on a weekday evening. When we arrived, we were seated promptly and given time to look over the menu. There were plenty of options to choose from, with something to suit just about every palate. What impressed us most was that there appeared to be only one person working, and he was an absolute champ . effortlessly juggling multiple tables, crafting excellent cocktails, and taking the time to answer questions and make recommendations. Between the four of us, we sampled quite a few drinks and found every one of them fantastic. The cocktails were thoughtfully made, well-balanced, and showcased a lot of skill behind the bar.Great drinks, great service, and a pleasant surprise all around. This is exactly the kind of gem you hope to stumble upon.

I ordered an espresso martini, and the bartender mentioned he could make a salted caramel martini that wasn't even on the menu. It was decadent, perfectly balanced, and definitely strong--in the best way. It even came garnished with a Ghirardelli chocolate, which was such a thoughtful touch. Despite how busy it was, the bartender was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. I never felt rushed or like I was a bother, which really stood out. Excellent service, elevated cocktails, and a gorgeous bar, proof absolutely lives up to its reputation.

The Council Bluffs 100 Block is the oldest commercial neighborhood in the metro area. Dating back…read moreto 1853, most of the block's buildings celebrated their sesquicentennial a couple of presidents ago. Omaha's first newspaper was printed on this block. This block is older than the invention of cocktails, imagine that. It was pretty rough and full of scoundrels in those halcyon days: journalists, lawyers, land speculators, railroad magnates, Abraham Lincoln. Eventually things improved as saloons, social clubs, gambling halls and bordellos moved in. Today, the 100 Block is to Council Bluffs what Buckhead is to Atlanta and a new whiskey bar called The Barrel is in the middle of it. The Barrel is a swanky, crafty, well-appointed, beautifully decorated, two-story lounge featuring cocktails made according to original recipes with top shelf brands. No mixes, no shortcuts. Every drink is a double just as our shameless forebears intended them. The interior is full of local art including the Barrel sign over the bar. It's well lit with high ceilings reflecting the warmth of the architecture and the staff.     The night I stopped in was moderately busy for a Friday night before 9 p.m. A dozen or so patrons filled the upstairs bar room before wandering downstairs to the more lounge-y Bottom of the Barrel. This is where the bands play and the furnishings swing more to the comfortable side of things. There is a bar here as well, but the craft cocktails were being made upstairs that night. So back upstairs, I asked for a recommendation to show me the takeaway, the thing I should know about The Barrel. Now normally, if a bartender recommends a whiskey sour I assume he thinks I'm in high school or doesn't want a tip, but the gregarious gent behind the bar that night was telling sincere stories, and not just with his beautiful scalp tattoos. The Whiskey Sour was a great place to start. The simple classic has been denigrated for decades by shortcuts and mixes. But this Whiskey Sour is born again hard made with Cody Road Rye, fresh lemon, egg white and love for only $8. Spectacular. And foamy. There is a literal wall of 130 whiskeys at The Barrel Each shelf is higher than the last. Your taste is limited only by your credit. Their Old Fashioned had me at spherical ice, but I intend to return for more classics (Manhattan, Negroni, Tom Collins) or clever originals (Brockway Bulldog, Baltimore Zoo or The Night is Dark and Full of Terror). And there's beer. Exile Beatnik Sour and Lagunitas IPA ($5), Burning Skye Scottish Ale, Lucky Bucket Wide Eye Coffee Stout, Millstream Pale Ale, Brickway Maple Pecan Brown Ale, Empyrean Dark Side Vanilla Porter ($4.50) and Bud Light ($3). There is live music on Fridays and Saturdays, an open jam from 4-8 Sundays followed by an open mic until close, and comedy every second Wednesday. The Bottom of the Barrel has $3 premium wells on weekends and there is never a cover. With drinks like this, it's obvious why our ancestors were so unapologetic about drinking doubles.
