I'd had my eye on this place since it opened--the name had me expecting something a bit more refined. But the aesthetic didn't quite match the vibe I had in mind. Leftover holiday décor (maybe from multiple holidays?) and a setup full of TVs, a pool table, and darts gave it more of a sports bar feel. To their credit, the bar itself is impressive, and the cocktail menu is clearly curated with intention. But overall, it feels more like a dressed-up dive bar than a polished spot. We played pool and had a good time, but honestly, it might serve them better to embrace the casual scene and rebrand--maybe just "The Lion"--to better fit the crowd and vibe. I stopped in on a Thursday evening to chat with someone about hosting a large gathering here and it was busy! But, the manager was more than happy to hers my plans and help organize the event and answer any questions. Once I got that out of the way it was time to peruse the menu, they updated for summer and I tried the summer martini, it was very tasty, just the right mix of sweet with some fruity garnish. My husband met me up there and we got another drink together. Overall, the service was fantastic, we were checked on multiple times before our drinks were gone, and it seems to be a great neighborhood lounge with a lot of regular customers. The interior is dark and moody, perfect for a lounge, but still plenty of TVs, games, pool and music. I like the upper deck lounger and enjoyed checking out this spot. You're welcome to bring in food, or snacks to go with your bevvies too. We'll definitely be back! read more

Decided to check out the place with a friend after it being open for a while near my house. I was pleasantly surprised by it. After it taking over Retro Rewind (a bar that was mediocre at best), I was hesitant. But after finally checking it out I was very pleasantly surprised. Even on a night where it was just moderately busy (vs high energy which we were looking for), the the vibes were good. The had about 6 TVs, 4 on the main wall and maybe 2 behind the bar, all playing whatever you could want to watch. The bar was pretty crowded when we went, so we sat at a table to wait until things opened up and were very surprised when we were treated to table service. The servers were very attentive and kind, making good conversation and making sure our drinks were always topped off (the green tea shot is a highlight, one of the best I've had). Overall the place was clean and comfortable. My only complaint being that the vision seemed confused for the bar. Being in there felt like it was double dipping between sports bar and cocktail lounge. But that doesn't take away from the amazing service, fantastic cocktails, and good vibes we had there. LOVE THIS BAR! Quickly a favorite. Can have a conversation with coworkers, but good music is going AT A REASONABLE LEVEL. Amazing old fashions and martinis, followed up by cheap tall boys. Bartender is great! prices reasonable and they have TouchTunes so we control the music. Pool and darts and the opposite of a dive bar, pretty classy! Only downside is tanners is right next store and they have more space more tvs and better liquor selection, oh and a huge food menu. read more

Stopped by while out shopping. Took a considerable amount of time to figure out who the bartender was. She was too occupied visiting with 2 gentlemen to read the room and see who needed a drink. Never got a drink. Left the establishment and will never be back. There was nothing dandy about that lion. read more

Came in last minute, 30mins till close on a Sunday before MLK day, served me up, bought the guy next to me a shot and chatted the owner up about their operation. Mostly older country music. No food here, which the previous establishment got around by serving Jacob's Mexican on rare occasions. In my very limited experience there, Music was country which I'm sure caters to a specific crowd. I was wishing there was music I could feel like dancing along with as someone born in 91' and from an urban environment. Bartenders were great and attentive. I think knowing your clientele will go far here as it's a welcoming place but thats hard to establish list with a place as new as it is. There's a lot of history that comes with the previous occupancy. Drinks prices were the best part of my limited exposure especially with late night activity. If they could meet the vibe with the clientele that appears later in the day, they could knock it out the park in the evening hours. Their only real competition is Blue Chip, which is much more urban, but definitely not as personalable. read more

The bartenders were great but the alcohol selection is limited and they don't have a cocktail menu. Unfortunately, the TV's in the bar do not play with the same timing. There would be a delay on several. You would hear everyone cheering for a touchdown before even seeing it. The big screen continually dropped the signal. With so many sport bars around the area, this one didn't make the cut. I hope these issues are resolved for them soon! read more
