We visited Twisted Fork during Omaha Restaurant Week, and there were a few hiccups in the meal, but overall they are a nice option to try out in the Old Market. We had a truly bizarre conversation with the hostess when we called to ask if we could get a table for two. She literally for maybe five minutes just went "uhhhhhh" and "ummmmm" - she could have just said no, we did not need all the theatrics. We did end up getting a table, and headed there. The decor and ambiance is very similar to Stokes and Stokin' Goat, which makes sense, as they are part of the same restaurant group as Twisted Fork. Lots of uplighting, taxidermied (fake) animal heads, and tufted couches and cute vases. The restaurant week menu at Twisted Fork included a starter, entree, and dessert for $30 each. My husband and I both chose different options for each course, so we could both try two different options. My husband started with the Orchard Salad, and it didn't come out before the entree arrived. In fact, it still didn't come out for quite a while after we notified them. The server was very apologetic, so I don't blame them. I knew they were busy with the restaurant week crowd. I had the Flautas for my starter, and they were pretty similar to the ones at Stokes, so no complaints there. Crispy ends and softer middles, perfect flautas. For my entree, I had the blackened salmon, which came with hush puppies and a drizzle of remoulade. The fact that it was "blacked" made it pretty dry for salmon. And the hush puppies were gigantic and hard to eat, unfortunately. My husband had the Bistro Tenderloin (this is the entree he completely finished before his salad came out). He enjoyed the protein portion itself and the whipped potatoes below, but it came with a kind of odd "tomato gravy" that was not very appetizing. Dessert-wise, we had the Brownie Sundae and the Turtle Cheesecake. Both were very good and large portions so we could share them with each other. That was the bright spot at the end of the meal. So overall, I'd say Twisted Fork is an okay place to dine in the Old Market, but I prefer the other restaurant group's offerings a little more (Stokes, Taxi's, etc)

Meatloaf with mash, mac and cheese and veggies that tasted like they were from a steamer bag.

Not a bad spot for dinner when in town. The deep fried bacon intrigued me, so I started with an order for the table. Not super flavorful, but I appreciated that it wasn't greasy. In fact, it was a bit dry. For a main, I had the meatloaf with mac and cheese, veggies and mashed potatoes. The meatloaf was very dense, thinly sliced and served not quite hot with a rich, dark gravy. I felt like I got a meatloaf that would have been more "alive" at a 5pm seating, rather than an 8pm. The Mac & Cheese was wonderful and the mashed potatoes took up the majority of the plate and the steamed vegetables were under seasoned and tasted like they were straight out of a Costco bag. Service was good.

My family decided to stop here for dinner during our stay in Omaha, and we weren't disappointed. This restaurant looks for the vibe of an upscale, cowboy-style saloon, and I think it does a great job of filling those shoes. We got lucky getting one of two tables left with a walk in, as many of the tables were full due to reservations. Definitely come early or reserve a table! The food was great, with an excellent, creamy risotto and crunchy brussels sprouts. Chicken was good and had a nice crust, but I could use a few more pieces on my plate in comparison to the sides. Service was okay, but we didn't get checked on much and I wouldn't say it was anything special. Overall, I would come back for a nice dinner or maybe some more of their fried pickles if I got the chance!

I was so impressed with the food and service during an unexpected drop in during happy hour recently, that I had to return for the "full enchilada " and enjoy a dinnertime dining experience here. They once again, did NOT disappoint. The pot roast sandwich was super flavorful and the chef accommodating at holding the bread (as I am GF). Surprisingly for a bar n grill they offered not only wine and spirits but also a tasty selection of specialty hot teas. The vanilla choice was lovely. Friendly service and a warm, inviting & comfortable place to dine. I look forward to returning and recommending it to others.

Decent place for dinner. Our waitress was solid and professional. The hostesses need to be trained, but they will. The food was very good. Local craft beers . Clean and simple ambiance.

This claims it is chef driven with a cowboy twist. I might say hunting lodge twist, but it doesn't disappoint! It's quite a nice casual location to hang with friends. I'd imagine it might get awfully loud if it's full and if various hunting and old style saloon things offend you it may not be the place for you. It was fun in its own bizarre way. We got the fried pickles and I got the salmon sandwich. Our server was great about making sure we had whatever we needed. The fried pickles were actually pickle spears much to my surprise but I love pickles so this was the perfect ratio of fried to pickle for me. I almost remembered to take a picture of my salmon sandwich but it was so tasty I had taken several bites before it dawned on me I'd meant to take its picture. Oh well, just an excuse to go back and get another one at a future time. And actually remember to photograph it. If you're in the area give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Delicious bar food. Always flavorful. I got the Happy Hour fish tacos and my daughter the kids sliders. No complaints here! Plenty of food for my daughter. The fish tacos were reminiscent of the southwest rolls appetizer I'd get at some popular resturant. I'll be back for them!

Twisted Fork delivery by DoorDash seemed like a good idea on a cold evening. Bookguy ordered the Cowboy Chicken Fried Steak with mashed potatoes, gravy and refrigerator pickles. He said it was okay, but not in his top ten. He loved the fries I shared from my grilled cheese sandwich and fries. The fries had a coating on them that added to the flavor. I liked the four cheese sandwich. The grease factor between the fries and sandwich was pretty heavy though, so it was a hefty meal. I'd like to try the food there in person because fresh from the kitchen is best.

My husband and I first visited Memoir for our anniversary, and it was such an awesome experience, especially for a special occasion like that. After we were done doing all of our (admittedly annoying) photography of the awesome ambiance, we finally sat down to order and eat - and the original amazingness didn't stop there! The menu is not gigantic, which I always appreciate - because I get overwhelmed by too many choices. We picked a few things to share, at the recommendation of our server (who was also amazing and made sure we had a great anniversary dinner). They even gave us a card signed by the staff wishing us a great anniversary! Those little extra touches are what really make a dining experience special. We had the Kale and Bacon Dip for an appetizer, which was DECADENTLY delicious. The dip was smooth and silky with a toasty focaccia which went really well together with the two different textures. And we also grabbed the Pork Potstickers, and my oh my, were those fantastic. Delicate potsticker wrapper, with tons of filling, resting in a carrot-ginger dressing that complemented the potsticker fantastically. We were already so pleased, and didn't believe the entrees could top the starters, but they were just as awesome, which should be no surprise. It was easier to share two entrees, because we couldn't decide between two. Our first entree was the Faroe Island Salmon, and it was cooked to perfection, and served atop an indulgent bed of sweet corn risotto that I still dreeeeam about. And our second entree was the Rigatoni Alla Vodka, which was a little lighter of a meal, so was great paired with the salmon dish which was a tad heavier. I would recommend either of these dishes! We were SO full at this point but we knew we had to get a dessert since this was a special occasion. We shared the chocolate torte and devoured it, even with our extreme fullness. It was so fluffy and chocolatey and DELISH. From start to finish, this was one of the best meals I've had in Omaha. The service was on point, the eats were out of this world, and the vibe of the interior is something to behold. If you're looking for an awesome place to have a special occasion meal or just a nice dinner on a date night, look no further than Memoir for all of the above!

This fit the bill so we walked over around 5pm one evening for an early dinner after spending the day exploring the zoo. When we arrived the place was pretty empty - think maybe two tables occupied, and the hostess asked us if we had a reservation. We did not, and honestly she seemed a bit put out for a bit. I kind of wondered if we were going to be able to eat in this empty restaurant, but alas she decided it was okay and we were seated. This is one of my pet peeves at restaurants. I know, I know, that there could have been a ton of business booked for later, but it's such a bad look to make such a big deal about reservations when the place is empty. Also - while it did start to fill it was by no means full by the time we left. At any rate, things perked up at that point and we all got seated, ordered drinks, food etc. and had a good time. The server was kind and thoughtful and the food was pretty tasty. I had the fish and chips and shared it with my husband as the entrees are a good size here. My six year old had the kids hamburger, though we did have a bit of a scare when the server said "your cheeseburger will be out soon!" we had a long wait on the kids meal and when she said cheeseburger I immediately said - "no cheese!" the menu item was described as a "hamburger" with no mention of cheese and our kid doesn't like cheese her burgers so that was a really close call. I sort of got the impression that server wasn't accustomed to kids, but when the burger came out it was right and even though she had to wait, my kiddo gave it two thumbs up. Overall this is a good pub style restaurant in Old Town. Nothing really to write home about, but they do have decent food and local beers which was all we really cared about after a long day at the zoo.

Our relatives had chili, soup, salad, and something else. All the food was good, but not exceptional. As for the beer, I had one of their Scary Numbers, which was a fairly flat stout, with little to revere. It was drinkable. My brother-in-law opted for the sampler with a mix of seasonal & "avant-garde" flavors. He drank it, and I sampled, but all five were very missable. This is a case where the food carried the beer, instead of the other way around. The food was good, but not great. I did enjoy my Jambalaya, and if we return, would stick to that. I would pass on their crafted beer, opting for another offering, which is kind of sad.

Truly a gem, which explains why it's so popular amongst the locals. It's located in downtown Omaha,…read moreand attracted lots of visitors on the weekend that my partner and I were in town. Most of the highlight was the various types of burgers and fries they had, so my partner and I got two kinds, and we both enjoyed our respective meals. I had the block burger, which was as good as I imagined it to be, with juicy patty cooked to medium and every ingredient needed to make a good burger. The poutine had a lot of beef gravy and cheese curds, which made the dish a comprehensive experience to consume, rather than just fries. The duck duck goose fries were amazing! The duck confit, cheese curds, mayo, gravy, and gooseberry gastrique combination worked super well on top of the fries, because they altogether basically made it a gourmet dish that I had to eat with a fork. Finally, the sloppy nick was seasoned very well, even if we got the vegan version, which used impossible meat instead of ground beef. It was still really great! Hope everyone who visits Omaha gets to try this spot! Their wall has quite a few articles that recognized them as a locally renowned burger joint, and I could see why. Since they can be busy, I would recommend people getting there earlier to secure a good table spot, if dining in.

Block16 is one of my favorite local spots, and I use any excuse to stop in for lunch…read more Parking has always been a challenge, and with all the current construction downtown, it is even harder. But do not let that detour you from trying this gem. I usually like to grab one of my go-to orders, like the poutine burrito or the Croque Garcon Burger, plus whatever the daily special is. Sometimes the specials do not hit for me, but that is not their fault. It is a seat yourself space, but I have never had any issues finding a spot, usually by the time you order, someone has left. Despite the space being crowded whenever I come by, they do a great job of keeping the tables cleared and clean. Service has always been top-notch for me.
