Bartender was Super friendly and helpful- many craft beers available for takeout or drink in. Bartender had his super friendly dog that just wanted you to throw the ball ( dog came over because we wanted it too) Construction on bar will have new opening facing a different way to open to a patio. read more

It was our first time here and when we walked in the door it felt like family. April behind the counter was absolutely adorable, friendly and very accommodating. First impression of the place is immaculately clean everything perfect and its place. Huge selection of local beer, ciders and seltzers. Local beers on tap also to be had. This place has food trucks on the weekends :-) this was our first time and it definitely won't be our last. Highly recommend this perfect bottle shop. read more

We were in the area on a Sunday and stopped in for a pint and to browse the craft bottle selection. Craft 42 is open 1-6pm on Sundays so that does need to be updated because Yelp shows it as closed. The bottle shop has been under new management since October 2016 and Brad wanly greeted us and made us feel very welcome. There is a tv with Sunday football on and a bar area with 6 taps. 5 out of the 6 were local (Lynwood Brewing, Foothills, Starpoint, Founders from MI). There are coolers with bottles and then the other selection on regular shelves. They carry a variety of craft beer including several rarities. Brad did mention that he sometimes goes to places like Trophy to pick up kegs and everything at his location is fresh. They do not serve food however , there was a menu from Uncle Mug's with options from a local coffee shop. You can also bring in your own food. The prices are on point with Raleigh and other area bottle shops. Brad and his wife greeted all the customers and I could tell it was a local hangout. The bottle shop was extremely clean and the colorful beer signs lined the walls. You pay using Apple Pay or square. If you are in the 40/42 area, definitely check out this great bottle shop. I wish I could give two separate ratings. The shop, staff, and ownership are great. Unfortunately the last two times I've been to the shop, the same guy has been sitting at the end of the bar watching videos on his iPhone and vaping. It might just be me, but I think watching videos on your phone with the volume set to 11 is just inconsiderate. The only thing I have negative to say about the staff is that they allow it to happen. If you don't mind taking a gamble to see if the moron watching videos is sitting at the bar, it's a good place to stop and have a beer. You'll know quickly if he's there. Don't fool yourself into thinking he will stop because he won't. Now to address the vaping, I'll never understand why some young guy with a beard wants to make himself smell like a strawberry princess. Edit: changed my review from three stars to five as a direct result of the young lady behind the bar finally asking him to quit with the stupid videos. read more

Honestly, I hate to pan anyplace in Johnston County that is offering craft beer, as it's such an up and coming thing and it's nice not to have to drive to Raleigh for excellent brew. Buuuttttt, I was not impressed. The store seemed strangely unfinished, the gentleman working seemed only passively interested in what I was into (I despise being pegged or "sold" before you bother asking what I actually enjoy drinking), and it was overpriced. Well above both Clayton Beverage and the Raleigh shops I've visited. I want to know that you know more about beer than I do, yet you aren't being showy about it. Instead, I felt like the owner/cashier thought he knew more about beer without actually backing it up. Just personal semantics. There was a good shelf of local beer, and I like when a bottle shop groups NC beers together, as I want to support as many good local breweries as possible. But I doubt I'll be back. read more

Tried some of your beers for the first time tonight. The first I tried was the coconut, caramel, and chocolate one which I didn't like. HOWEVER. The second was Hard Orange Cream and IT WAS AMAZING. So good and yummy! read more

What a great place. It's seriously like cheers with better people and better beer. The new owner, Brad, and the guy pouring beers, Joe, are super friendly.
