Pricy, high quality products with ample variety. I regularly order delivery from the Lowes Foods off 42. However, occasionally when I'm in this area or need a few things I visit this location. I like how bright and organized the store is plus their vast selection of products. Usually I can easily find what I'm looking for (and more). I especially enjoy the produce section with the pick and prep items and cut your own herbs section! The pick and prep items save a lot of time and encourage produce intake. The cut your own herbs area is such a great idea to reduce food waste and bring customers closer to gardening. Lowes Foods tends to be on the pricier side compared to Food Lion, however, the quality is high and they provide coupons and accept competitor coupons. If I could give negative stars for customer service, I would do so. I had a cart full of groceries - almost $400 worth on a Saturday afternoon. When I got to the check out, only the small self check out registers were open. I asked on of the workers if someone could help and was told no. I spent about 15 mins scanning and bagging my groceries while 4-5 workers stood around and talked to each other. When I was getting ready to leave, I asked another worked if they only use self checkouts now. That worker told me that there was a register open. It was on the other side of self checkouts - not near the others. However, no one was there when I got in line. The workers seemed lazy and like they did not care about customer service, so the management must be terrible. I will be spending my money elsewhere from now on. No need to ever go back to this store unless there are major changes in how it is run. read more

ROTTEN PRODUCE I purchased about 4 or 5 red delicious apples. They were all rotten inside accept for one. They look red and fresh on the outside. There were no signs that they were actually rotten! I usually don't hold on to grocery receipts so I couldn't return them. read more

I have shopped here since it opened. It is not a good store anymore. They will not even check you out. Prety much want everybody to use self-checkout. When I do get checked-out I have to bag myself. I am disabled and they do not care. I try to self-checkout and cannot get any help and today I had a manager came over and refused to help me. I am trying to remain standing and not fall down and she will not help me checkout. She asked me why I went to self-checkout when they had no lines opened for an actual Lowes employee to check me out. I will be finding another store to shop at. read more

I really like Lowe's food I just don't like the prices. They always have the best fruit and veggies. The muffins will change your life. They even had a drink that was discontinued and I couldn't find anywhere. Store always nice and clean and employees are great too. Although I will pay $10 for something I know I can get for $6 elsewhere I still buy it from Lowe's anyways. Lowe's rarely have empty selves and if I go anywhere I running the risk of them being out. I have been going to Lowes for 10 years at the Aversboro Road/Timber Drive location. 10 years ago, the food was fresh, the store was clean and never crowded and the staff were very pleasant and eager to assist. Fast forward 2024. There are a few who have been there a while that remain very courteous and helpful. It appears they are profiling people who are not being honest in Self-Checkout. It seems like when I go through the line, The associate in Customer Service stalls my machine at checkout. I asked what was happening because this actually happened a few times ... She said that she had to hit the print receipt. Why?? because the machine was working perfectly fine. I gather they have instructed the associates to try and double down on self-checkout...The store has really gone down. I will be limiting my shopping at this location. The cashier names Kameron was so rude and was definitely irritated with her life or something. She gave me attitude when I asked to try another number for the members rewards. I gave up after that and just asked for a new card and she visibly huffed at me and gave it to me. I had to bag my own groceries they were falling on the floor and she didn't help and just watched. and as I was bagging she told me my total, like give me a minute. I'm doing your job. You can advertise, offer coupons, and do every thing the executives think encourage customers, but the key is employees. The parking lot had an overload of carts while someone inside was enjoying a slow morning. I grew up on the grocery business . Without committed employees, you can skip all of the coupons, commercials, etc. I wanted to buy a bakery sour dough loaf of bread. The Baker was diligently working and saw me but was ignoring me. I love how clean this store is and the selection they have, however the customer is lacking. Without fails every Sunday I venture out to go shopping and I either have to bag my own groceries which I don't really mind but someone always seem to be hanging around up front not doing anything. The baggers never ask if I want paper or plastic and when I tell them I want paper they seem to be annoyed. Also if they do bag my groceries are always over packed and just thrown in together ex: putting meats in with cereal. This Lowe's Foods is actually one I enjoy going into. Generally well-lit and very organized. Parking is well laid out, and it's not too hard to get in and out of at lunch time, if need be. As usual, the prices are high, but that's a chain thing. If it wasn't so far from my house, I would actually consider shopping here on a regular basis. The deli area is clean, uncrowded and presents well. The checkouts are easy to deal with on most days, and the selection is good. My local Kroger is still closer, and manages to beat their pricing and selection on a weekly basis. read more

Lowes food has an awesome selection of organic foods unlike most grocery stores. There are many of my favorite snacks that are only available at LF's. I really enjoy visiting their luncb bar, which has a vast variety of subs, sandwiches(Boars head meats), soups and others made fresh daily. Hep thats right! My favorite time to come is when they have clearance on select items as low as 50¢ i love visiting the meat department because lf the great service the meat manager provides. You can ask questions or get advice on all things meat. Raleigh/Garner groceries are already more expensive than many other places in the country and Lowes Foods is the most expensive grocery in the area. I normally shop at the Lowes at Hwy 50 and Hwy 42 but I was closer to this one today and stopped in. I went to the deli counter to get some Boars Head meats. The girl that waited on me was obviously new. She didn't remove all the plastic casing before attempting to slice my meat. Every time I am forced to come into this store, I am more and more astonished and frustrated at the abysmal selection of healthy food. For a store that sure jacks up it's prices like it cares about it's clientele, it's all show. Yes, it's clean. The employees are fine. This is for the management/ownership. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. Not a single organic meat? I just paid $5 a jar for poison (non-organic because I'm mid recipe and have no choice) sundried tomatoes, and then got home to find the lids didn't pop when opened. Kroger had a waaaaay better healthy/organic selection than this store, and they were in the same neighborhood so the argument can't be made for supply and demand. It's 2018 people, STEP UP YOUR GAME. No. Just no.. way more expensive than other grocery stores. I was willing to overlook this for some good produce. I tried to go through the cashier line because I'm not used to ringing up produce on the self-checkout but their light was flashing and the young woman just looked lost. So I went over to self check-out to try my luck.. a women gave me a hand and she was actually very helpful and helped me check out because I had a very restless two year old. She left to go save everyone else in the whole store because people just looked totally clueless. It was time to get id'd for my wine. I asked an older man who seem to maybe come from corporate but he looked just as lost as everyone..probably more..and he somehow actually voided or lost? my entire order so I had to go to a whole other lane and check out. Less than 24 hours after I bought this produce I went to make a salad and a whole container of tomatoes are moldy.. I brought it back the same day and was given an attitude by the person at the customer service desk. Wtf. I've shopped this Lowe's store for many years but lately customer service is questionable. A month ago I was patiently waiting my turn at the checkout. The customer in front of me had some problems with her payment method. As the transaction concluded, a person approached the checkout clerk from the front of the checkout counter and before I realized what was happening, he was ringing up her purchases. I asked him what was going on? Why didn't you send her to the self service line. He replied that he couldn't say 'no' to a customer per company policy.....yet he said no to me seeing he skipped my turn for checkout. I was next in line.....what the heck. Well, on Thursday I purchases some Boar's Head ham and the clerk asked how I would like it sliced. I replied very thin. Just opened it and one side of the slice is thin and the other end of the slice is very thick. There doesn't seem to be any attention to client service or quality in this store. read more
