I was in town for a short girls weekend getaway and we needed to find a quick breakfast spot before our spa day. Once again Yelp to the rescue! I was getting slightly annoyed with how far away we were from the city bu this little breakfast cafe didn't disappoint. We accidentally entered from the back entrance where the patio is...I'm assuming this is where guest can go who may want to dine with pets. Once we got near the counter we were informed to sit anywhere and a server would be wit us shortly. They have a great selection of specialty coffees and teas. My friend ordered a simple latte and I ordered a ginger green tea. Both amazing! We kept breakfast simple and ordered the omelette (forgot the name) which includes spinach. mushrooms, and provolone cheese. We both added tomatoes. The meal came with choice of toast. Breakfast potatoes or gouda grits. This meal was delicious and exactly what we needed to jump start our day! This looks like a GREAT neighborhood cafe that offers, breakfast, brunch, lunch, and wine. Small business supporting the arts; great combination. I had the Norcross Omelet, which includes 3 items and cheese or 4 items. If you want cheese, make sure it's one of your 4 items. I guess this gives the people with cheese or dairy issues a chance to fill the omelet with another item, but I found the wording weird. I ordered my omelet with cheddar cheese, red onions, spinach, and chicken sausage...and it was delicious. Omelet comes with grits/potatoes, and toast/biscuit. Wait, not just grits, but gouda grits. I had to have grits to see if it lived up to its reputation; they did not disappoint. My daughter had the French toast with bacon and it was ok, nothing major to share. It's probably decent, but don't look for the best French toast you've ever had. Another reviewer commented on the limited menu, which is true. I found a good selection to fit anyone's mood for breakfast or lunch. Service was mentioned in a few other reviews. We went at a slow time and it seemed we may have been the only patrons their at first. For the most part, we started off with 2 servers (maybe one was in training). This place reminds me of a coffee house in the small town where I grew up. It seems like the local hangout for people to work and chat. The inside was very comfy and parking was easy. I ordered an iced caramel latte. I believe they use Monin syrups, which aren't my favorite. The espresso was good, but the Monin caramel kind of ruined it for me. The staff deserves 5 stars! Been here a handful of times for breakfast and/or coffee and the staff has been consistently pleasant and helpful. One of the managers/owners always checks on us during our meal. At my last visit, came in with my family for breakfast on a Sunday morning around 9am. The place was not busy at all and there were plenty of street parking available. We informed them that we were on a time constraint and wanted to take the order to go. They were all very patient with us and helped my SO with a customized vegan breakfast bowl order with potatoes and sauteed veggies. I ordered the Fast 45 Breakfast and my son ordered eggs and bacon with fruit on the side. I forgot the name for it. Our meals were $10 or less each. We also ordered 2 almond milk cappuccinos. We were out of the door in less than 25 minutes with our correct orders. Now for the food. I can't say their breakfast stands out to me. It's cooked to order and tastes fresh. We do enjoy our food every time and have no complaints. However, it's just nothing special. I love the idea of it. I love having a cafe to stop by on my way out of Norcross if I needed to. And I love that they offer a variety of milk substitutes for their coffee. Not my favorite breakfast spot, but I will definitely continue to give them my business every now and then. When a friend and I came to 45 South Cafe, I didn't know that I'd been here before until I saw it. At the time of my first visit, it was in the evening, for coffee, and there was a live band playing. On this Wednesday morning for brunch, there was no live band, but there was coffee and a good amount of great food! Nestled right in the heart of Downtown Norcross, a place I truly love, 45 South is a lovely little cafe that's actually much bigger than you first expect, including a front room with tables, two tables out front, a acommunity table in front of the register, more individual tables in the back, and a back extended patio! On a good day I'd imagine 40 to 60 people may be able to dine here at once. For breakfast I ordered their Omelet ($10), which allowed you to pick 4 ingredients. Cheese and meat also count as some of your 4 choices. I selected chicken sausage, pepper jack cheese, mushrooms and spinach. This dish also came with your choice of toast or a biscuit (I selected a biscuit) and cheese grits or breakfast potatoes (I got the potatoes). I also got a cup of Americano coffee ($2.40) The omelet was tasty! Lots of mushrooms and chicken sausage, and quite a surprise but the pepper jack, which was the spiciest pepper jack cheese I'd ever had! When I shared a bite of it, i was asked if I put any hot sauce on this??? No, it's the cheese!! Omelet was filling, flavorful, and I recommend this! The biscuit was a good size biscuit, soft, not very flakey at all, but had a decent flavor to it. Butter and various jams were included at the table for spreading, which definitely is recommended. I didn't try the potatoes because I gave them to my friend, who just had a biscuit sandwich, but they looked great. The cup of coffee, which came with cream in a separate container, was really smooth and tasty! Customer service was great, helpful and we were there for 3 hours studying. Our server let us be, but checked in with us every 20 minutes or so, which I appreciated. Parking is tough depending on when you arrive. We got here around 9:30 am and parking was plentiful. When we left around 12:30, people were following us back to our cars because no spots were available! At night parking is just as tough to come by, so plan accordingly. I highly recommend 45 South Cafe for breakfast, and as I mentioned earlier, they're open late at night and start serving lunch at 11, so it's literally your one stop shop! Loved this place! We ventured into this place after having wings at Chase's. They had such an eclectic menu of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, adult beverages, and sweet eats! The atmosphere was charming and the staff was nice! It was the perfect place to hang out. When we were there, a pair of singers were playing guitar and singing classic rock favorites from the 60's and 70's. It was great! It still wasn't too loud that we couldn't talk though. We were singing along and enjoying ourselves. I would totally go back and hang out there. If I lived close by, that would be my regular spot because I liked it so much! It's a bakery. Nothing about it seems like they offer breakfast food. Walked inside and looked lost. They have a host table that makes you think you have to wait to be seated. They have two locations and I'm not sure if that's still the case. My favorite thing to order is the chicken sausage biscuit. The sausage is fresh made and the biscuits, nice and fluffy! I like this cafe. Staff is friendly and helpful every time I've come. 45 South Cafe is located in Downtown Norcross. It's a split level style cafe and has a quaint and homey feel to it. Drinks are made well. They also serve up some desserts that could pair pretty well with the drinks. Their drink menu is not as extensive as Starbucks and other larger coffee shops but I feel they execute the drinks very well. They also serve some food options so if you're hungry you can have more than a piece of cheesecake but if you wanted dessert for lunch that's totally acceptable in my book. Wish they stayed open later. They close too early in my opinion. Especially on a week night (Mon- Thurs) they close pretty early (8:30 pm) and Sundays they close at 5 pm. With all the renovations done to the nearby park, I think it could drive more business for people to grab a drink and hang out in the cafe or grab one to go so they can walk around Downtown Norcross and the park. read more

After my first review, Gene contacted me personally and invited me to come back. So I gave them a second chance. I am so happy that they are changing the store and turned it to a better place. The store now is brighter and more lively. They added movie posters and cool blackboards on the wall. A lot of wines are added to their menu, so are some craft beers. It was a Monday afternoon. I could see more people sitting there and having a good time. I ordered the same 12oz small cappuccino. The cashier looked more friendly and cared more about me and the shop. They also tossed their old espresso machine to a corner, and purchased another one. What's more important, cappuccino was good. It tasted right, better than some random Starbucks cappuccino. The foam was fluffy. I am very impressed how they turned everything around and made it a good option for hang-outs. As a yelper, there is no better thing than the business listens to your voice. I liked this place immediately upon entering. It is clearly designed to be inviting, casual, and comfortable. I am here to kill some time and get some work done before an evening dinner thing just up the street. I see the menu has actual food on it. And they serve wine and a small selection of delicious looking baked goods. I may have to try that the next time I'm here. For now, for me, it's bottled water or fruit juice, and some free wifi, which has worked well since I sat down. It didn't even falter during the tornado warning. Super cute breakfast and coffee spot in historic downtown norcross! It was the only coffee spot open this morning (8am) when I was around looking for some caffeine to fuel my morning walk (gotta get those steps in before it gets too hot!). This spot was popping (not full but def quite a few patrons and a lot of other folks running in and out getting coffee and such to go while I was waiting). You can order to go at the bar or sit down and enjoy a full service meal. Lots of super affordable breakfast (served all day!) options on the menu, and lunch options (served after 11am) available too. There are a variety of baked goods on display inside, as well as a freezer for ice cream (for those hot Atlanta summers). The coffee menu is extensive, and they have lots of rotating flavor options (just ask the barista or waiter). Super cute spot for breakfast, great service, fresh food (I got the granola and fruit bowl) and early opening! Oh yea there is outdoor seating and indoor seating too! This locale served up a great white mocha latte. Unfortunately, my quiche, which I was told would consist of egg, bacon and cheese, had neither bacon nor cheese visibly- nor flavorwise- present. Instead, the quiche served consisted of egg, spinach, a few teensy veggie morsels and tons of little "filler" black beans, rendering it tasteless. The quiche crust was crumbled all over the plate as if it had disintegrated in the microwave. A great place to go for coffee and to do some work as the setup provides a comfortable work area. Cute place and my fave cappuccinos. I would give 5 stars but this one time the barista made it 90% foam w no latte art, and it looked like a mini dishwasher had exploded. The bubbles were huge. When I took it back he said, "Oh you want a wet cappuccino." No. Just own up to your failed cappuccino dawg. But he made it over again without any attitude. The foam was still not like their usual cappuccinos, but I think he was new. He was also the only one working the bar, so I figured if I asked for it to be made again he'd spit in it or make it just as badly. Management, pls do not leave your new hires unattended. Their usual cappuccinos are velvety w microfoam and latte art. But lately they've been putting them in to go cups unless I specify to have it in a mug. If I wanted Starbucks I would've gone there to get gold stars.. Also they got rid of some of their comfy armchairs and everything's just wooden chairs now. Makes it look cleaner, but also more austere. The back is cute but feels a little grimy. It's part of a really old building, I'm assuming, but the bathroom could use a little renovation. It's located in the cutest little strip of businesses in downtown Norcross with lots of free parking. I ordered the smoked salmon quiche and a Butterbeer iced latte and both were great. The latte wasn't as sweet as I had expected (and wanted) but it still hit the spot. But the quiche was FANTASTIC! Five stars for that for sure! It's also a wine bar so if I'm ever in this area after 3pm, I'm gonna give some of their wines a try. This is our go to place for brunch on the weekends! My wife and I stop by and enjoy the wonderful, laid back and friendly atmosphere along with the wonderful food choices for brunch. The staff and owner are very friendly and knowledgeable about the community and offerings. There are a couple tables out front, a covered and uncovered patio in the back that are all dog friendly, the staff even brings out fresh ice water for the dogs. I always enjoy the French Toast and Chicken Sausage while my wife tries different omelets and is never disappointed. The grits and biscuits alone are worth coming for. Delicious iced mochas! Not too sweet, not too bitter. Just right... and I am the world's most obnoxious self proclaimed coffee snob. I refuse to drink Starbucks unless the gas station is my only other choice. We also got lemon cake, that had this absolutely divine icing, but was slightly ruined by the fact that the cake was pretty dry. Flavor was lemony and good though. Ambience of this place was adorable, and even on a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't super packed or really noisy (something I appreciate immensely). I wasn't going to say anything but the aggressive and terrible original waitress we had decided to aggressively clean around us and hit the chair next to us repeatedly so here I am. Firstly, when we arrived, we noticed no one had food. That should have been a red flag, but we decided to fight on. Our waitress, if you'd even call her that, took our drink order. I told her I wanted orange juice and water. She returned with the juice and no water. I reminded her and she returned with water. I asked her for water without ice. Water with ice is terrible for digestion, by the way. Then she disappeared. Didn't see her again. Ten minutes later I asked another table's waitress for my water and she promptly arrived with said water. Our original "waitress" was still mia. Maybe she needed a 20 minute bathroom break. Who knows. Secondly, we had to wait upwards of 50 minutes for our food. Frankly, that's ridiculous. It doesn't take that long to make brunch food. We asked the other table's waitress why it was taking so long, and she let us know that the kitchen was behind on orders. This is understandable, but COMMUNICATION IS KEY. Maybe I'm used to the city, but most brunch places will let you know if there's a wait because let's be honest, people going for brunch are two minutes away from hangry-ville. If I had known it would take that long, we would have left. It also didn't help that our original waitress was still missing in action. Thirdly, the food was subpar and they don't even have beignets! Which was the reason I even wanted to go to this god forsaken restaurant! Our original waitress finally showed her face after 1 hour of hiding out somewhere and walked up to us very aggressively with the tablet to pay. She didn't say a single word the entire time. Quaint and collected, what a wonderful little spot. There is much more space than you would think from the outside with a sweet little patio outback that is enclosed. I would highly highly recommend the house latte which is made from honey and cinnamon. Yum! Just sweet enough. My husband and I shared two sandwiches the chicken salad crossaint which was okay, not bad and a devil burger coming recommended by the man at front. I would say the burger was a good solid choice. When I work from home, I head to 45 South and settle in to one of two two-top tables right near the window with views of the train tracks. Gene is a partner in the business with his brother, and he adds a personal touch to my time there with his warm welcome and dedication to ensuring everything is running smoothly. You can grab a latte at the counter, or take a seat anywhere when you walk in, and a staffer will come and take your order. I've enjoyed the oatmeal and breakfast sandwich, which is a good size and freshly prepared. There are a variety of flags from different countries hanging overhead and artwork from local artists in rotation on the walls for purchase. Music floats through the air as you work, and the future will bring expansion with a second level. Parking is fairly easy around downtown Norcross.
