Tessa texted me back to get the process started. After filling out and submitting new patient intake forms, I was set to come in on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM. After parking at a nearby garage, we walked over to the 450 Sutter Building and made our way to Suite 320 where 450 AESTHETICS DENTAL GROUP resides. Immediately upon entry, I was impressed by the sophisticated dental office. The welcoming foyer has a NESPRESSO coffee bar, inviting guests to brew themselves a cup of joe. Honestly, hearing from others how teeth whitening can cause severe sensitivity, I was a bit afraid of post-procedure sensations, but Dr. Baliwas assured me that the digital precision in their cutting-edge technology and processes render painless and lasting results. His friendliness and enthusiasm gave me a sense of relief and trust. The total duration of my appointment was about two to two-and-a-half hours...and, as Dr. Baliwas promised, pain-free during and after the procedure. I definitely felt the exclusive boutique experience through their commitment to beauty and hospitality and walked out with a brighter smile. I was also sent home with a bag with oral moisturizing gel, vitamin E soothing oil, OFFICE WHITENING INSTRUCTIONS...and days later, received from the mail some whitening gel to use with my custom fitted whitening trays, dental floss, branded lip balm, and Sensodyne toothpaste. NICE!! I had only one solid regret at 450 AESTHETICS DENTAL GROUP - that I didn't know about Xylo, their certified therapy French bulldog (Again, who else has a therapy dog on-site? as I have previously posted, "I can't say enough about this team." I texted them on a Friday, forgetting that the office is closed and everyone had the day off. Not only did I receive a response, but they booked me for the following Monday at 1pm. Who does that?!? The team at 450 Aesthetics, duh. I went to see Dr B, thinking I had a cavity. Turns out I had chipped a tooth and he reassured me it wasn't a cavity by explaining/showing me how strong the tooth was and had it been a cavity, it would've been brittle. I feel like had this been any other DDS, they would've just told me it was a cavity and had me pay for a filling and crown. I come from a hospitality background. I was a bit nervous at first and was reassured by the calm demeanor that Doctor Miller created by explaining each step of the procedure. They've got this really strong fragrance machine pumping scent into the waiting area, which feels like an odd choice for a medical office. I'm not usually that sensitive to smells, but it was intense--made it a little hard to breathe, and the scent stuck to my clothes and in my nose for hours afterward. Not a fan. At my latest visit, my Hygienist, Rachel, did my cleaning with their new AIRFLOW Prophylaxis Master, which was like a pain-free cleaning device that quickly "power washed" my teeth with warm water. She also used a special stain that highlighted for me where the plaque had been building on my teeth which was great feedback to know which trouble spots to focus on while brushing. I like how this practice often tries the latest technology for a more efficient, insightful, and comfortable experience. Dr. Baliwas has also been monitoring one potential area where future treatment may be needed, but for now, everything is still good. I like how proactive the approach has been and I learn something new about my teeth every time I go in for my regular cleanings. This team is efficient and coordinated, and I am often in and out in under an hour with a cleaning, fluoride treatment, cleaned nightguards, a check-in with Dr. Baliwas, and a bottle of water for the road. First, I'd like you, dear reader, to brace yourself for what you are about to read. I don't often write reviews, but when I do, it's because it means a great deal to me and important for others to know. As of this year, I have 2 decades of experience in dentistry, with Several specialties in university setting, and private practice. I have worked alongside more than 100 dentists. Have been to over 30 dental offices as an employee or a patient or a visitor delivering goodies. I know the ins and out of dentistry and can tell the difference between quality care versus quantity. I currently work in a High end, multiple location, specialty practice, where over 2300 General dentists from around the Bay Area, have referred patients to us. Over 700 alone this year. I know! I am not making these numbers up there are actual facts. So you can imagine the amount of work done by other dentists I have looked at. ( and judged!) I have seen it all! I have seen and can tell if it's excellent work, good work, mediocre work and even bad, (make you wanna turn around and cringe behind your mask) work. I myself, have had a lifelong problematic mouth, even though I stay on top of my oral hygiene religiously! however, I've been fortunate enough to be in the field of dentistry and know great dentists, who know other phenomenal dentists and that, is how I discovered the amazing Doctor Baliwas himself. I do have to drive a whole hour and a half each way to go see him but SOOO worth it! He and his lovely assistant Lynnie, have done a great amount of AMAZING work on my teeth over the past several visits. ( I have seen my x-rays and the work looks Excellent!! ) Each experience was fun, comfortable, and felt like a breeze. I truly enjoyed just laying there and watching the Magic take place.. WOW! Lynnie, the wonderful RDA that has been there alongside Doctor B is so sweet, so kind, and so very on top of it and I absolutely love her. My last appointment I got to meet Ebony, also amazing! Once I was done, she patiently sat and listened to me, go on, and on about my life and my hurdles which meant SO much to me! (i'm sure she had a million other things to do) Meanwhile, Doctor B also poked his head in the room and told me hey! don't stress! you have nothing to worry about! which just lifted a ton of weight off my chest. What a Wonderful team. Last, but not least, the beautiful ladies upfront : Drea and Dominique, are like two angels, Truly. They are excellent In Everything! From customer service, to the response time over text and working out finances and just being so pleasant and professional, and so down to earth, (Like hey you look like you need a friend today, We will be here for you! ) It humbles me to tears that every time I leave that office, I get more than a dental appointment, It's a therapy session and some counseling too! For the last two years, like clockwork, I've chipped the same front tooth--always in Fort Lauderdale, always the same way. In a pinch, I'd found the amazing Dr. Tadros there (Beauty and the Teeth), but this year, back home in San Francisco, I had only on her recommendation to go on. Enter 450 Aesthetics. From the moment I called, the front desk team, the most fabulous Drea R. and Dominique C. made everything seamless. Incredibly warm, absurdly patient (they graciously took on the insurance shenanigans, double kudos for that alone) and above and beyond in service and support. Then there's Dr. Miller, whose work is nothing short of phenomenal. In and out of the chair in under an hour! Not only did he repair the tooth with tech wizardry (some straight-up Jetsons-level thrills for a really comprehensive and richer story of what happens in my dirty, filthy mouth!), but he was the first to question why this keeps happening. As a Brit, I'm hardly running to the dentist very fast or very often. For the last couple years, I had been living with pain whenever I chewed on anything harder than soft bread. My previous dentist had no solution for my pain so I was convinced I was going to lose my tooth. After visiting Dr. Baliwas, he mentioned he wanted to try something I might think is crazy. He actually went through my bite and shaved down only the filling to adjust my bite. Immediately I noticed my bite just "fit" now and I could chew on that side again. It wasn't perfect and I went back and he actually adjusted it further and it got even better. For the first time in years I was able to have Orange Chicken (and yes, Beijing Beef too) at Panda Express. I'll keep an eye on my tooth, but regardless my quality of life has improved dramatically. Dr. Miller only spent 3 days in Firenza... I should a star because of that, but it's his loss. These guys are great, high skill, amazing communicators, and are very conservative when it comes to making irreversible changes. I first came to them when my child had a broken tooth. All the other dentists recommended a root canal. Dr. Miller told me that a root canal could be a future necessity but that keeping the nerve intact was an option that could add a decade of life to the tooth.
