This place was fantastic! After a long day of driving and exploring, the King Crab Grilled cheese was OMG good! Definitely different. Super yummy. Have already recommended to every other traveler we have talked to. Got my Boo a cool shirt and some drinking glasses that we liked from our visit. So much yum here- also fun! Would love to come back. Get the Crab grilled cheese!

Was recommended 49th State Brewing by multiple people while planning our trip to Denali, so we made it happen! Right off the bat, this place was so much larger than we were expecting. Since it was toward the end of the season, it wasn't as crowded as we expected - but there were still a good amount of people. We ended up sitting at bar-style seating around a tall firepit. Super warm, comfortable, and probably best for parties of no more than 3. Food was phenomenal. Their Alaskan Sockeye Salmon Melt was incredible - never have I had anything like it, and I wish I lived close enough to eat it again. So much cheese that went perfectly with the fresh salmon. They also give you a side of chowder to dip it in. So full but so happy afterward. The Yak Burger and Buffalo Meatloaf were also big winners with our group. Love ciders, and they had some great local ciders. We ended up going to multiple 49th State locations during our visit, and the Denali location was, by far, our favorite. Highly recommend stopping by!

My soda was excellent.

It is very laid back and great food. My husband said it was the best halibut fish tacos. I had yak burger. It was excellent.

Add 1lb of Alaskan king crab to any entree ($105). I know king crab is expensive but come on! So not worth it!

Wow this was a bad one all around. We arrived at 8pm on a Sunday. I was told the wait was about an hour. Ok no problem. I get a text exactly one hour later our table is ready. Starting with the hostess and ending with the wait staff: the front of the house staff is not very friendly and I felt like we were bothering them when we asked for something. I had to ask other servers to find our missing in action server a couple times and even the simplest requests like a different dressing on the salad "had to be run through our server" even though we requested the sub when we ordered and it came out with the original. The staff here is either very green and needs more training or just doesn't care. They were more concerned with cleaning up than taking care of their guests at the end of their shift at 10pm (which btw, closing time is listed as midnight so WTF?!?). On to the drinks/food: - The drinks (beer and hard cider) were good. Hard to mess that one up especially if you're a brewery. - Seafood chowder: Fishy - Bison meatloaf: Lean and dry AF. Even the sauce couldn't save it. - Green salad: A very generous portion and was fresh. - Spinach artichoke dip: OK, nothing to write home about. Was much better with the tortilla chips from the fish tacos than the pita bread it came with. - Halibut tacos: Unseasoned, flavorless and a bit dry. ......and drumroll.....add a 1 lb of Alaskan King Crab to any entree: SO SALTY. They roast this versus steam it here which also made it super stringy and dry. So not worth the additional WHOPPING price tag of $105! They ran out of mashed potatoes for the meatloaf and subbed it with fries. I asked for tartar sauce and they also apparently ran out. How you run out of condiments is beyond me. The only thing positive about this place was the decor: steampunk meets wilderness with an ode to the ocean. They offer a spacious outdoor area with fire pits and benches and some horseshoe games while you wait, since there are no reservations. The four of us left very disappointed with our experience and agreed it was the worst meal we had on our thirteen day trip.

This restaurant was close to our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. We liked it so much that we ended up going there again for another dinner. The first night was as busy as the second night, but we did have to wait an hour on the second night. I think they have staffing issues. They do have a great waiting area outside where they have games and seating. They also have a bar where you could order a beer or a drink while you wait. The first night, I got the Alaskan sockeye salmon. It was supposed to come on a bedof vegetables, but I was on vacation and decided I should get fries. The sockeye salmon portion was a good size. It did come on in bed of creamy lemon dressing. Without the creamy dressing, the salmon would have been lacking some flavor. It was perfectly cooked though . On my second night I had a Caesar salad with salmon.I feel like the salmon on the salad was definitely tastier. The salad was pretty big and it had a good amount of shaved Parmesan cheese. I did not taste any of the beer and I am definitely not a connoisseur when it comes to beers, so I wouldn't be able to tell you if they were good. They do have beer, Cocktails, wine, and their own brand of soda. They have inside and outside seating. The parking lot is pretty big, but you may have to do a little bit of walking to get to the entrance as it can get very full. Staff was friendly, but on our first night I think we got a new employee. He was trying his best, but he couldn't answer my questions and it did take him a while to come to our table and get our drinks. On our second night, the waitress was excellent. She came by a few times to check on us and was on point. The hostesses were always super friendly.

Ate here in August with a large group. We had reservations so were seated right away. Everyone in the group was happy with their food and cocktails! I had the parmesan and asiago crusted halibut which was swoon worthy. We had a terrific delicious time on an epic vacation! We even got to go in the "Into the Wild" bus outside, which was a memorable experience.

A delicious treat. Busy for dinner service, but a comfy waiting area and gift shop, and beautiful outdoor seating if it's warm enough. We tried a flight of beers with a tigers blood sour, smōk ale, dall beer and spruce blonde- interesting and all were delicious! We also tried a flight of the last frontier sodas which were also very good. Our party got the fish and chips which were the absolute best on the menu with coleslaw and fries. We also enjoyed the ribs and the crab grilled cheese, chowder and elk chili. A busy, wonderful treat after a long cold day in Denali!

Great ambience, and great beer and food! The service was fast, we arrived around 10 pm on Saturday night, it still had a decent number of people.

This was the perfect place the end the evening after visiting Denali NP. We got seated right away since the bar spots don't have a waitlist. Our server was attentive and the overall ambiance is great. We ordered the famous chowder, fish and chips and spicy buddha bowl. Everything came out absolutely delicious!

We tried to stop here on the way from Fairbanks to Denali on Labor Day, but the parking lot was super packed and when I went inside there was a long wait. We decided we would try to come back another day since we had two more in the area. We returned two days later. The parking lot was so pot holed it was very hard to even drive through. I imagine they fix it every spring, but by the time the season is almost over the lot is very terrible. Be warned. I wish we would have parked farthest away and just walked. I really liked the ambiance of the brewery and the servers were friendly. I do not recommend coming two weeks before they close for the season. Every item we tried to order from the menu was out of stock. I really wish they would have marked out items that weren't available with a grease marker, rather than our server coming back from the kitchen each time and having us order something else. We ended up getting a pretzel, crab stuffed jalapeños, the blackened salmon BLT, and the halibut tacos. All of the food was really good. My salmon wasn't over cooked, and there were large pieces of halibut in the tacos. The pretzel was a good pretzel and the crab stuffed jalapeños were spicy and good. Another unfortunate thing was that their Untapped beer list said it was updated that day, but they were out of over half of the beers listed on Untapped, and every beer I tried to order off the actual menu was out as well. I could barely even order a flight because they were out of so much. Our server said that they weren't putting on any new kegs that day. As someone who has checked in over 4,000 different beers at over 160 different breweries, I was really looking forward to trying more. I understand that it was getting close to the end of season, but with a location in Anchorage and still having two weekends, I would have thought they would at least be putting on new kegs. I was very disappointed. We only went to Fairbanks and Denali, so I didn't really get to experience this brewery's beer or food. On the way out I also had to wait 15 minutes to buy merch because the manager was having a little front of the house staff meeting and they wouldn't check me out until they were done and he could sign the merch employee into the computer in the merch area. It was just a really weird and not super great experience.

Overall, we had a pretty good experience here. The ambiance and service were exceptional, however we were left slightly disappointed with the food. When we first arrived we were told that it would be an hour+ wait but luckily there is open seating at the bar and we found seats in no time. Our bartender/server Dinko was AMAZING. Extremely attentive and actually this old man beside us was bothering us, Dinko realized and despite getting called a spew of slurs Dinko remained professional. HUGE props to him for that. Despite the amazing service, we unfortunately received our food cold and we were starving and it was already 8pm so we just decided not to say anything and just eat. My friend and I concluded if the food was warm we would probably have given it 5 stars. However since the food was 50% off (it was the last day of the season) we didn't really complain, but on a normal day... I do not think this salmon would be worth $40. Flavor wise-- the "mexican street corn" is not traditional street corn and it was just okay. Our entrees flavor wise were still very good, I can only imagine how good it would be if the food was hot. Last but not least the drinks and atmosphere were amazing! I got the cider and my friend got a flight and there's fires outside and the vibes were great! Will definitely have to try again next time I visit Alaska.

Salty, rich, fatty, filling, fare. Giant portions. Delicious. Krabby Melt ($22.49) - perfectly golden, crispy buttery toasted with a creamy cheesy crab filling. Crab chowder to dip and fries on the side. Bacon Wrapped Bison Meatloaf ($25.49) - bison has a tendency to be bit dry, and so this was. The gravy on top did a wonderful job of counteracting this, and the presentation was wonderful too. SUPER crowded when we came on a Sunday night. We managed to snag seats at the bar or else it would have been an hour wait.

Nice outdoor set up! Fun vibes! Service person was new with a very positive attitude! Food is not why you should go to 49th! Salmon melt sandwich was so dry and not edible. They serve the melt with the chowder for dipping the sandwich. Clearly that was a menu hint that the sandwich is dry and it was very dry.

Our entire experience at Overlook was confusing and disappointing that continued after our visit…read more I had reservations and after being seated, received a text on my phone that I can order on Toast.   Am I supposed to order on Toast or via our server since we had a physical menu? We ordered with our server who kept trying to push alcoholic drinks. Honestly, not everyone wants to be drinking every day even if they're on vacation.   We ordered the Smoked Alaskan King Salmon Dip for appetizer, the curried halibut, and the king salmon.  The dip was missing the cucumber slices which would have been a refreshing balance to the buttery ritz crackers which already seemed like an odd pairing.  The two entrees were just okay as the king salmon was surprisingly dry vs. moist as king salmon normally is.  The real disappointment was the Baked Alaska I was so looking forward to.  It barely had any ice cream that I thought they forgot about, until I was halfway through and found some melted in the middle.  When I asked about it, they said, oh, it sometimes melts if the flame was too close as they were toasting it. The brownie was dry and stale and there was just way too much meringue to filling ratio.   As I was walking to the parking lot, I received a text that I was signed up for the 49th State Brewer's Circle loyalty account that they never told me about. Deciding to make the most of it, I dined at 49th State Brewing the next day and it was assumed that since we were paying with the same card, it would automatically add the rewards.  Nope, they did not link our card when they signed us up without being asked so I was out of reward points on an almost $200 bill.  When we dined for the third time at 49th State at the airport where we could've used those rewards from that previous $200 bill, we tried again and they had to do it manually since it did not automatically add the reward due to Overlook's oversight.  Maybe that should've been the name of this place.

Alaskan Cuisine w/ Denali Views [Denali Park AK]…read more After visiting Denali National Park we stopped by to dine here before heading home. We didn't have any reservations but we were kindly accommodated immediately. The restaurant is considered a fine-dining establishment up on Sugarloaf Mountain with a cabin-like setting and ambiance. The restaurant is located in the Crow's Nest Resort. Jan (pronounced Yan) was our server. Friendly and entertaining young man from Czech Republic. We headed up the stairs that led to an outdoor patio. It was cold and rainy so we opted to sit indoors. We still had nice mountain views of the Alaska Range from the huge windows. Hubby had the Cheddar and Bacon-Stuffed Burger while I chose a seafood dish, the Grilled Alaskan Salmon. Alaska has some of the most delicious seafood for grilling. Yum! the meaty texture gave the salmon a bit more bite compared to leaner types of fish. I wonder if the fish was a sockeye salmon. Great service, great food. Shout out to Jan for a pleasant dining experience at the Overlook. Review #3140

Bartenders were friendly even though many were working their first day of the season. Ordered the cub size (12") Boreal Forest which is perfect for 2 people. Also had a few beers from their very long menu. Inside was cabin cozy. They also have outdoor seating. Overall, excellent experience! Boreal 5/5 stars. For our second visit, we needed a quick lunch between two excursions so we ordered pickup and tried the Homestead this time. Took 20 minutes from calling in to the pizza being ready which worked well. Homestead 4/5 stars, crust was still amazing but pizza felt like it needed something more. Very happy we found this place on our first day in Denali.

If I was just rating the pizza, it'd be a 4 stars cause we thoroughly enjoyed it. Average size for…read morethe price, good amount of cheese (almost too heavy personally) and pepperoni but fantastic crust. Super light, nice air bubbles and charred just enough but not burnt. Crust had nice structure/crumb and chew as well. Really solid overall and would definitely get it again. My few issues: -Saturday late afternoon/early evening I get it'll be busy but the front of house was just way unorganized and none of the staff seemed super helpful till I had actually ask someone where to place a to go order. I was literally standing in front of them and no one acknowledged me lol. It was also so cramped with people standing around everywhere for no reason it seemed. -We ordered to go as mentioned and they text you when your order is ready. Cool, not a problem. What they forgot to mention was you get a text as items on your order become ready. So you'll get your appetizers or whatever else that are quicker to make well before your actual pizza. Do you eat them hot in your car while waiting for the rest of your order? Or let them get cold and eat them when you get home later? Who does it that way?!? Absolutely ridiculous and so dumb. Have proper kitchen planning and make food so it all comes out hot and at once. -Just FYI, the ravioli appetizer for $16 came with 5 raviolis. Yeah you hear that right, only FIVE raviolis in an order for 16 bucks. That should be a crime and such a rip off. I expected at least 10 of them for that price. But hey, you get both marinara and pesto, so that's nice. -Last issue was when they brought my pizza, it didn't have my ranch's that I ordered and paid for. It took probably 5 minutes and the staff going back n forth 3 times saying someone must've taken them. It took a manager to get ranch's from the kitchen and bring them up front...Then tells the to go staff that the kitchen sent them with my ravioli that was sent half an hour earlier, which they didn't. Why was it so hard to get some ranch?! And I paid $50 for a pizza, appetizer and can of side, why would I lie about getting my extra sauce? Shouldn't have even been an issue for a dollar worth of ranch IMO.. I gave it a 3 star overall because the pizza was really good and would've given it a 4* on its own but everything else was a 2* as outlined above. Definitely things that could be improved upon at the end of the day, but they do make some really solid pizza.
