I tried so hard to like this place & give them my business but they make it impossible- I've called multiple times to book a gel manicure. I asked for a nail technician who can do almond shaped nails and they state they don't have anyone who does that.... It's a really nice salon, but I didn't have the best experience unfortunately. My biggest issues: 1. They told me you can't do chrome nails over dip powder, only on gel (yes you can, I've had it done before) 2. Nail tech did not understand that I wanted all of my nails to be the same length 3. Rushed through my appointment 4. The finished dip powder top coat looked lumpy and dull - nail tech would have left it like that if I didn't point it out 5. Pretty steep pricing - $55 for a dip powder mani plus $6/each for nail extensions. I used to pay $40 at my old salon, and that price included nail extensions if any of your nails broke. 6. Overall the experience was a bit stressful since I had to keep correcting mistakes throughout my appointment I went in for a dip powder mani. Two of my nails were broken, so early on I told the nail tech we need to make those two nails longer since they are way shorter than all of the other nails. I mentioned it maybe twice. As she got further into the manicure I kept wondering when she would lengthen the short nails. She was about to start applying polish when I realized it wasn't in her plans, so I said something to remind her. She seemed surprised and confused (I think the language barrier came into play here), told me there wouldn't be time, but then someone else jumped in to help (they did a great job). They charged me $6/nail to add extensions. This added maybe 5 minutes to the length of my appointment, because the nail tech continued working on one hand while the other lady added extensions to the other hand. I'm not sure why any nail tech wouldn't think to ask about making all of the nails the same length? Those two nails were significantly shorter than the others. She was planning to leave them like that. For the rest of the mani, this poor woman was RUSHING like crazy. Like, I've never seen anyone moving so fast through a manicure. I respect that this wasn't her fault, but she was probably overbooked with not enough time in the schedule for my manicure, and the extra 5 minutes to even out my nail length apparently threw the whole schedule off course. I also respect that they were probably just squeezing me in since I called for an appointment last minute, but they really shouldn't have added me to the schedule if there wasn't enough time. So when we get to the end of the appointment, my nail tech applied a top coat to the dip powder that came out of a squeeze bottle. I've been getting dip powder for years, but I've never seen this top coat before. When it dried, it reminded me of the old "shatter" nail polish. It was dull, lumpy, and just looked totally unfinished. I felt guilty pointing it out and I tried to be very kind about it - but for $55, I felt really unsettled about having my nails look like that for the next 3 weeks. I kept checking to make sure she also noticed that the top coat looked unfinished (I usually am not one to complain, but I promise these REALLY looked bad). She said yes but at first tried to only fix one nail. I had to point out that it was all of them, and if there wasn't time to fix it I understood, but maybe we could agree on not charging full price. The woman's boss made her do it over again. She re-did them and added a gel top coat instead at my request, and they looked much cleaner and nicer (albeit a little too thick, because she added a gel base coat AND a gel top coat, when only the top coat is necessary). I felt guilty the whole appointment, because I felt like I was throwing them curve balls the entire time, but at my previous salon (I just moved) I never had any of these issues. They would always even out my nails, my dip powder always looked amazing, and I was never rushed. I *may* try this salon one more time. Maybe it was just a bad day. Maybe I should have been clearer when I made the appointment. Everyone was nice, and the finished product did come out good, but it just took so much effort to get there and the appointment was a bit stressful. read more

I have had my eye on 4U Nails and Spa for a while now and had the chance to come check them out this past Saturday. Walking into the salon I was greeted by the workers who all looked happy to be there. As my pedicure was getting set up I looked over their selection of nail polish which seems pretty endless I decided on my color and went to sit down. The woman doing my pedicure was lovely and gave me one of the best foot massages I've ever had. I like how they line the pedicure tub with a plastic liner for sanitary purposes. While I was having my pedicure done another woman came over and started to take off my gel manicure on my hands and put them in gloves so that I could still look at my phone. Thought that was really nice. Once the pedicure was over we walked over to the manicure chair where my lady was waiting for me. I looked over their huge selection of gel colors which seemed endless and I loved it! A lot of places don't have such a large selection but 4U Nails has the largest nail art collection that I have seen to date. The nail art that they can do is amazing! Take a look at their instagram account for examples that they keep really up to date and provide you with great ideas. I really enjoyed my experience here over all and absolutely can't wait to come back and get my nails done again! This was my 2nd and last time at this place. My nails look like a 5 yr old did it. Anna did my manicure and pedicure. She was very slow. Got there at 5:40 pm. Left at 7:10 pm. She also did not seem to speak English. She filed my skin, hurt my cuticles, didnt shape my cuticles or nails properly. Put polish on like a 5 yr old could. Never ever again. I did gel ombre with an acrylic set and although it looks nice, it's definitely not worth the price I paid. Its about 40$ more than other places but the quality is the same as everywhere else. There are waves and unclean edges around my nails and theres some manicure on my skin that the lady didn't clean. Its disappointing because its not worth the price they charge. read more

Honestly, I really wanted to write a better review of this place, but I can't bring myself to do it. Yes, it's immaculate, and clean, and really just a very nice, open environment. But I felt like I was paying $30, above average pricing for a mani/pedi in the area, to go towards their probably astronomical rent rather than for a well executed mani/pedi experience. I thought the pedicure was little better than the manicure, but only because I felt it was done with a lot more attentiveness and care. They used some milky substance and an oil that was actually quite nice, so my legs felt like silk afterwards! The manicure felt hurried and a bit lazy quite frankly. He never even soaked my hands first, which I thought downright strange! He did a 20 second rub down on my arms and hands followed by a lethargic "shiatsu" pat smack done. What? If you're going to ball your hand in a fist and pound - do it like you mean it, not like you're trying to get this part over with. I don't know if that makes sense, but whatever, that's just my experience. I'm going to a place that calls itself a nail and spa...not just nails...nail and spa. And I'm dropping $30 to boot, I better be wowed. While the end result was more than sufficient, the overall experience was so-so. I went for a gel manicure on a Saturday afternoon. A woman who walked in after me was seated before I was and she did not have an appointment. When the manicurist realized I had powder gel she did not want to do my nails, so I was shuffled around to two other manicurists before they got started. They used OPI gel, which typically stays on really well, but within one day it already started chipping and my nails were breaking. I am one week into the gel manicure ($35, higher than normal) and they are all chipped. Needless to say I will not return. read more

I like coming here when I need a pick me up. I always am welcomed as a walk in at any time. The last time I went for a pedicure and gel manicure. The pedicure was nice- they used a lavender sugar scrub on the legs and a brief massage. For the cost it's reasonable, it gets the job done! The gel manicure was easy and again, affordable. They give a nice back rub while your nails dry. The parking lots was large and convenient, the salon was clean and decorated, and the staff was nice! It's everything you hope for. I visited 4u nails last week , after receiving not a smile from not one of the 6-7 staff members , I got a manicure -.. All seemed to be going well , till I got home and noticed they my nails were covered in air bubbles . It had to be the worst manicure I ever got . Today my daughter and her two friends wanted mani /pedis , we walked in - I explained that last week I got a manicure and it had bubbles all over my nails , the girl looked at me and walked away . I then asked another employee if my daughter and her friend can get their nails done - and they all ignored us. The worst owner ever. No costumer service at all. I had appointment at 4, nobody even greeted me when I went in. I told them I have appointment, the owner just said sit there rudely. After a while she came to me and said I have to wait 30 min, because I don't have appointment, which I it wasn't true I did called the day before. I still thought ok it can happen anywhere... And I waited and waited. After an hour waiting nobody came to me or apologized. I went to the owner to ask what's happening, cause she said 30 min and it was more than an hour. I have to agree with the other reviewers. The place is spotless, the workers are extremely happy and the prices are great. Having plenty of easy access parking is also key. You don't have to risk life and limb to park. I would highly recommend this nail spot to anyone is the Westwood, Hillsdale or Township areas. It's well worth a visit! read more

I feel bad giving this place only 3 stars because it's a great, clean environment, but only one of the manicures I've ever gotten there has lasted a normal amount of time. They are great at nail art, but paying $30 for a gel manicure that barely lasts a week does not sit right with me. My normal salon charges $25 for this, and they always last at least 2 weeks. On the upside, anyone who has done my nails at 4U has been very kind and friendly, and the salon itself is immaculate. I came for a visit with my mother. Frankly, I was reluctant because it was a new place for me and I wanted my mother to have a great experience. Walking in, I could see the store was busy but many of the workers unhesitatingly smiled and greeted us. Because the wait time was about 15 minutes at that time and we were in a hurry, I had high expectations. I was paired with an employee named Marta who was from the start, very sweet. As she asked about my day I naturally explained the events I had to attend afterwards. Intently listening, she was very considerate and worked fast but neatly. All in all I very much enjoyed this experience, and so did my mother. The work on our nails also surpassed my expectations. Stay far away from this salon unless you are interested in filth and potential health hazards. I went there this past Tuesday. It was my second time there. The owner, Helen, left a customer to look at my nails and begin filing. She had carried a box with her tools in them from the customer she was working on over to me. She filed my nails and apply acetone to soak off my gels. While I sat soaking, the customer she left asked another girl if Helen was going to come back to her. Helen picked up her box and went back to her initial client. As I soaked, I noticed that the station I was sitting at had nail clippings on it from a previous customer. Another girl, Jane, came to remove my soaking and complete my manicure. Jane also came over with her box from another station... not the sterilizer. She filed my nails with a worn out file and cut my cuticles with an unsterilized cuticle cutter that she just dipped into the acetone before using. THAT DOESN'T KILL THE GERMS!! She then completed by painting my nails. Another customer walked in and sat at the station next to me. As soon as she sat down, she complained about the untidy and dirty station she was seated at. My observations also include sterilizers that don't work or are not plugged in, no individually wrapped tools, sharing of tools from one person to another and unfriendly staff. I left and immediately called the board of health to report them. Stay far, far away if you value your health!! read more
