Hubs loves this store for pants and shorts. Clothing is on the more expensive side however great quality. The staff is always friendly and their fitting rooms are open for you to try on clothes. I didn't know until todays visit that they also carry women's clothing! They didn't have the size in shorts I needed but I did find some I fell in love with. I've gone in before looking for hubs a gift and the staff was super helpful by looking up his purchase history to help determine size and style he typically buys. If you can't find what you're looking for in store, you can always buy online with in store pickup. read more

Check your receipts, I was charged twice for same item, now I have to go back to request a refund, $13.99 when you are in a budget is a lot. I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. They do have a sign on the door stating employees and customers have to wear a mask. If you do not have one they will provide a mask for you to wear. The fitting rooms are open and they do have customer restrooms available which were clean and stocked. I was looking for cargo shorts for women and didn't find any but my husband managed to get a nice pair of tactical pants, shirt and new belt. The current promotion gets you either a free Velcro patch or a set of magnets when you spend over $100 (I think). read more

I personally went to this store today. I was greeted by the Manager of the store. I just don't recall her name. She was extremely helpfully and even went into the back of the store to look for my size. I had to have a few things shipped to me and she made it extremely easy. It was more than clear that she took pride in her store, reputation and customer service. I will Absolutely go back to this store again and the best thing that I can say as a business owner and retired LEO, I would hire her in a second!!! I was very impressed. read more

I am rating this business poorly for its poor return policies. I did a large purchase here of clothing in the range of a few hundred dollars. I washed the clothing the day I got home, and I noted that a sticker that said "Teflon." Now my family and I have allergic-sensitivities in general, and the Teflon is as bad as it gets amongst cancer-causing chemicals (see documentary "The Devil We Know). I called the following day to inquire if I could return the items. I spoke to the manager and she said the policy was (which I wasn't told about at the time of my purchase) that I couldn't return the items if washed. Now mind you - this is a tactical store and this is tactical wear that is supposed to survive wars. On top of that, it is Teflon-coated. So if it can't survive a normal wash cycle. I don't know what the heck it can survive. On top of that, this is Covid-season - everybody washes everything! I mentioned the issue was a health issue and it was no-go from their standpoint. They just broken-record kept saying over and over again "Our policy is..." in hypnotic fashion. Then they said "we can't resell." Of course you can, this stuff is supposed to survive a way dang it! Can't they use a resale rack? So it's a no-go on the return. So I just wasted $300 at this store during the Christmas season when I need the money. Me thinks this store is a no-go in general. Boo on corporate stores with return policies clearly set up to benefit them. Boo on poor customer service that forgets the customer and opts for corporate rights. Btw I was told much of the clothing at this store is Teflon-coated. So boo on this store (which rightfully is poorly rated on Yelp), and I won't be shopping here anymore. read more

This review is not about any particular 511 store. I attempted to order a gift card online which was approved. Not 10sec's later I received an e-mail advising order was cancelled. I was told that it was canceled due to the CC had analytics occur that online may be fraudulent. I've never had this occure before with any credit card. This happened last year also and we decided to use a different CC this time. This was to be a $200 gift card for family. Nothing was improper as far as the completion of the order form or CC information. We don't know if any others ran into this but for those who did not, be aware. read more

This 5:11 store in Tampa is crap to say the least, the customer service is horrible and there exchange/return policy is not explicit. I bought some tactical pants in the wrong color I came back less then 24 hours later to exchange them for the right color and was met with BS off the rip, first the lady said I can't exchange them because the original tags on not on the pants any more so I went into my car to get them and upon coming back she said well it doesn't matter if you still have the tags or not we are not going to take them back or we will have to write it off as "damaged" which is absolutely ridiculous because they were only tried on at home. Once I realized my mistake they were put back in the original packaging along with the Receipt. So all in all I'm out 70$ with the worst customer possible, basically hurried me out the store like I was wasting there time. They have a lot of cool stuff in store. I was debating on getting a plate carrier and the lady sarcastically asked "do you get shot at a lot??" I've actually been shot at twice now one incident being in the news and she essentially talked me out of the sale and made me feel really uncomfortable so I left. I originally wanted a back pack so I came back on a different occasion hoping she wasn't working but she was. It was just helpful more people were in the store so all of her attention wasn't focused on me. read more

I was excited to see this sports/ tactical equipment shop open buy me. 5.11 Tactical has some neat camping gear and tactical items. The staff at this location are very helpful and friendly. I was happy to see that they sold Black Rifle Coffee pods and paraphernalia. Great blends, with neat patriotic designs! If you are looking for binoculars or a quality hunting or defense knife, this is the place for you. Good gear for camping and defense, but without that doomsday feel. The people behind the counter are nice and extremely down to earth. I look forward to going back for more coffee and some birthday presents for some friends. So glad this place opened up. I thought I'd visit and try their new store instead of ordering online. Worth the drive. Epic and just like you would dream the 5.11 physical store would look like. The employees are relaxed and so helpful and kind. They have wooden tables where you can fiddle around with the gear and inspect it. I loved being able to see everything in person. 10/10 read more

Great looking store here in Tampa. Staff is always friendly and informative. Being a 5.11 fan for almost 4 years and owning multiple items they sell, quality is great and they try to accommodate for almost everyone's needs. Although their bread and butter are the tactical bag(s) they carry, you can't forget about the apparel, especially the different pants they offer for different circumstances. Went there because I had an issue with a product I purchased previously. I have purchased a number of items from 5.11 online and in store and other than this I have not had any problems. When I walked in I was politely greeted and I explained my issue. I was introduced to the store manager and she was beyond helpful. I must say this was one of the most pleasant experiences I have had at a retail store. Not only did Eberle do an excellent job assisting but she even took the time to help fit me to my plate carrier. I visited 5.11 tactical in search of a birthday present for my son. I wasn't disappointed as there were many cool and exciting things in the store. I purchased a nice pullover shirt and a coffee mug for him, as well as a gift card. The shopping experience was fun! There are items for women as well...so, I plan on returning to purchase a nice top for my self. The young man who assisted me was very knowledgeable, helpful and super courteous. read more

I was disappointed with our customer service today. We live about an hour away from this store and made a special trip to exchange some pants for a different size today and shop around. The clerk refused to exchange the pants because my boyfriend had washed them. She showed me the policy and while I understand that every company has policies, it did not EXPLICITLY state that clothes had to be unwashed, only unworn (people try these on before they buy right? I don't call that unworn) we ended up calling the company in the parking lot and getting our pants exchanged anyway, but I was just disappointed with the lack of empathy and with the slight attitude that came with the whole encounter.
