Lovely place to dine and drink in the heart of MBTS. Gorgeous design throughout, love the fireplace. Service is wonderful and attentive, made great recommendations and great conversation. My guest and I stopped in between shopping looking for brunch but that ends at 2pm. We couldn't find the menu online so I took pictures below. We split the beet salad (perfect with the fig dressing) as well as the shrimp and haddock. We loved everything. Every once in a while, we have a dining experience that is so over-the-top superb that we must share our good fortune in having dined and experienced true culinary excellence with others. 35 Beech in Manchester-by-the-Sea was such a memorable experience. We were helped immediately by the very attentive waitress who took our drink order right away, which exemplified the warm and friendly ambiance. For an appetizer we split the Burrata salad which was nothing short of sumptuous - fresh mozzarella, peach puree, basil, and mixed greens finished with olive oil and a savory balsamic vinaigrette glaze. Delicious. On to the entrees. My wife ordered the surf and turf. While we are unclear as to the exact cut of beef, no explanation was necessary - juicy, tender and seasoned and cooked to perfection. The surf side was grilled shrimp, seasoned to compliment the turf side and equally delectable. The surf and turf were finished with garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus and carrots, and garnished with onion strings. Just amazing. My entre was the miso salmon with seasoned jasmine rice along with the same grilled asparagus and carrots. The salmon was unique - the outside was perfectly seasoned with miso, and, due to some culinary magic the outer surface was an extremely thin crunchy layer which gave way to a medium rare temperature cooked to perfection, and exactly as ordered.Prepared on the premises, the deserts were on a par with the entrees and salad. We ordered a to-die-for crème brulee and a flourless chocolate cake topped with vanilla gelato. This was a great dining experience, and we will be back. It was a decent place for a quick lunch. The Beach salad with chicken was good. I ordered an ice tea with sweetener on the side - they only had simple syrup which did not seem possible. It was obvious the waitress was new and not well trained. read more

Clean family run finer dining experience. For the Manchester locale it's the fanciest option and for the price it's worth it. A menu that covers most typical options clearly prepared with care. Interior is white cloth tables with gold flatware and most appreciated is either complimentary bottled water or well filtered tap water....it does not taste like city beer whatsoever. Brunch on Sunday, otherwise lunch and dinner menus. Since the other Manchester options are high table pub style restaurants (2) or pizza, I recommend Beach 35. Brunch menu offers Executive Mimosas, a rarity when you don't need to explain to the server or bartender what an Executive is Service is largely by family members so there is clearly an impetus for high performance, politeness and courtesy. read more

Stopped in after work for a quick dinner. It was my first time there, and my first impression of the restaurant is that it was very inviting and had a homey vibe. I sat at the bar, and the bartender Jacob was extremely friendly and attentive. I ordered the autumn harvest bowl, which was absolutely delicious, followed by a yummy tiramisu. Absolutely love the chicken milanese here! Great time every time I visit. Would highly recommend

We ate here on a Saturday night. The place was completely empty at 7:30 PM. We ordered steak, and chicken melanese. They did a good job with the steak. The chicken melanese was boring and at the end we realized that they forgot to include the Marcela wine sauce. They apologized and were kind enough to take 20% off the price of the dish. They seem very nice and I hope they succeeded, but it's concerning that they messed up such a key component of a dish on a slow weekend night. Perhaps their business will pick up when tourist season starts. In terms of ambience, it is very bright. read more

The food on the North Shore, and in New England in general, is simply outstanding. We went to 35 Beach for the first time and it was exceptional. The pesto spaghetti was fantastic, and the house hot sauce for the oysters was so good we asked for some to take home with us. This might be my new favorite spot. To start, the actual space is beautiful and peaceful and full of sunlight. The waitstaff are friendly and welcoming, and the service has been uniformly excellent every time we have visited. Whoever makes the food clearly takes pride in what they do; every dish we have ordered has been prepared and plated by a perfectionist. For me, the best thing on the brunch menu is the simple but exceptionally well-executed chicken sandwich. (I feel like my gastronomic credibility is going to get called into question by gushing over a chicken sandwich, but seriously, this thing is good.) In fact, the chicken sandwich kind of epitomizes the food here overall: deceptively simple dishes elevated by meticulous execution. Such a great addition to the Manchester-by-the-Sea area. You're greeted by a charming location with quaint tables with white table cloths but not overly formal. Just perfect to have a night out. Had the Summer Salad which was perfect with fresh goat cheese and very light dressing. Then split the prime rib which had the perfect amount of chimichurri and mint. The cocktails are on point and the gelato for dessert was not to be missed. Pretty much a perfect experience. read more

We really our first experience at 35 Beach last night. We chose to sit at the bar even though the ambiance of the overall restaurant is intimate and cozy. The bartender was very friendly and made excellent manhattans. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us solid advice or ordering. Extremely clear and accommodating on a gluten allergy, which is always appreciated. The risotto and bolognese dishes were excellent. We will definitely return to try more things on the menu. I feel like 35 Beach should be getting a lot more attention from the locals. It makes for a solid night out. read more

Cute little place only open since July and we lucked out as they just started serving brunch. Food was excellent, a tad salty for my taste but ok. Service was efficient. Place is clean and with real silverware,napkins ect which is nice. Onkydow side we had is that they welcomed two patrons with a mid size dog, which I'm pretty sure is against any health code. I wouldnt complain if the dog had been quiet but it had several bouts of annoying barking which ruined our otherwise lovely meal. Overall I'd reccomend based on food and service. read more

Went to 35 Beach for the first time on Sunday around 2 pm. The interior is very nicely renovated, bright, airy, and somewhat upscale. The place was empty except for one person sitting at the bar. We were a bit surprised it was empty since it was a lovely afternoon in Manchester. We decided to try one of the signature cocktails for $16; the Singing Beach Sling I think it was called. Mine was gone in 3 sips of the straw, it was very sweet, and produced zero "buzz". I think when paying NYC prices for a cocktail you should feel like you consumed some alcohol. We ordered the fried smelts as an appetizer, which were excellent, as well as the Haddock sandwich snd the burger. Both were decent, the burger is like an upscale Big Mac as far as flavor. The fries were good, but undercooked and needed more seasoning. The thing I didn't understand about the place was the ambiance? It's more refined than Calas yet they were playing 90s grunge music fairly loud. This didn't quite fit with the decor and overall look of the place. The bartender also talked to his one patron almost non-stop and quite loudly, which was distracting. The music said "dive bar", the bartender said "sports bar", but the room was saying "upscale ladies lunch"? Our server, Jacob (?) was excellent, attentive, and professional. I'd like to experience the place for dinner when its full of patrons. I think there's a lot of potential here, but they need to better define their "vibe" and exactly what they are trying to present to the customers. read more

Went to 35 Beach after a concert by the Cape Ann Symphony, around 4 p.m. on a Sunday. The waitress said because they were between brunch and dinner, only a few menu items were available. My spouse ordered a chicken caesar wrap and I ordered a cheeseburger. Both were a mess to eat. The wrap was mostly lettuce. The cheeseburger was oddly flavorless. As noted by someone else, the acoustics were terrible. Altogether, a disappointment. read more

We arrived for the first time early last night, to an empty restaurant. We had made a reservation and we were seated. The menu isn't ambitious, which we took as a sign the food would be good. We ordered fish and chips and mussels to share. Limited beer choices. The next folks in were a family. The little boy sat down and asked his mom "Why is it so loud in here?" It was. You could hear the kitchen and bar noises. The meal prep area of this renovated building is white square tile and sounds bounce around and give you a diner feel. The food arrived. The fish and chips was previously frozen heavily coated fish, that oozed grease. The French fries were also previously frozen, light and over salted. The coleslaw was red cabbage yet bland. The mussels were so so. A few were sandy, and the white sauce was scant. The grilled bread was more like white bread in taste. We left without ordering a dessert. The food is better in close by Beverly Farms. read more

Ok. I'm taking back most of what I wrote before. With the exception of the acoustics still needing some attention, we had an outstanding experience last night! The autumn salad was outstanding and the salmon was perfect. Good portions and delicious. I wasn't sure this place would make it from my first couple of trips, but they clearly are working hard to be good. We had a table of 6 and the service was great and everyone enjoyed their meal. The salmon really blew my mind with deliciousness. I strongly encourage them to add acoustic panels to the ceiling in the side porch area. It is loud and very harsh. Beyond that, the new renovation creating a hangout bar and opening the kitchen up a bit is excellent. Drinks were not too sweet and were creative. Sure, it is very expensive, but so are some other restaurants. I look forward to trying the rest of the items on the menu. read more

Food was adequate. We made a booking for 9 am. When we arrived we were put in a corner of the restaurant that had no atmosphere and were told that food was only served until 9 - so telling us we need to hurry up. not what we wanted to hear considering it's suppose to be a realivity nice restaurant. We just left another venue (Beaufort Hotel) where we should have stayed at as the atmosphere was great, as was the service. So everything was super rushed at 35 Beach and wouldn't recommend it. Really sorry as we were hoping for another good venue to open in Manchester where we could recommend to friends and family. read more
