I decided to leave this review after visiting my dentist that I love (which is not this place) because the experience I had here still bothers me. I came to 5 star dental about 2-3 years ago. I was a medicaid patient and stay at home mom at the time. When they took my x-rays and read me my results, they were thorough and showed what cavities looked like. They informed me one of my teeth needed a potential root canal because it was "discolored" (I had a silver filling on it). They told me they would drill the filling down to see if my root was bleeding and that if it was bleeding that meant I needed a root canal. When I went to discuss crown options, they should be the most expensive porcelain one. They also recommended me two vials of botox for $600 each to help stop the grinding of my teeth. $1200! I told them I couldn't afford this and they told me I needed to start saving money (what money??? i was a stay at home mom!) and showed me zero compassion. They only seemed to upsell me and want my money and I've never experienced such a thing before or after. They only care about money and after reading reviews here it seems things haven't changed much. I have been to several dentist appointments since and I have brought up my concern over the tooth that needed a potential root canal and every dentist has said there's nothing wrong with. I'm glad I decided not to finish treatment here because something tells me I would've "needed" that root canal. Do yourself a favor, especially medicaid patients and DONT GO HERE. read more

We started visiting this office after we left our original dentist. I would say the experience was the worst. After doing an exam for myself and my wife the doctor gave us a proposed treatment with a cost of $19,000 and $10,000 for us. We were shocked that both of us would have that many problems with our teeth. So we went back to our old dentist to get a cleaning and our old dentist told us there are no issues. This dentist is money hungry and not honest. Stay away and beware! Do not recommen! read more

I did my x-rays and then my consultation, and I talked to two different people. The hygienist and another woman. They said I would need a deep clean with oral irrigation ($120), and they also wanted to add something else. I was becoming flustered with all the charges, just as I sat down. I had to do one side at a time for the deep cleaning, so I had to schedule at two different times. The hygienist was really kind and definitely was really understanding of my concerns. They're also really good at reminding you of your appointments so you don't get a no-show charge. Afterward, they still want me to come back, another 3 months, and that will be another $50. I really just can't afford it. I can only do the 6 month cleanings because of my insurance. Anything more, I have to pull out of pocket, and I can't afford it. read more

Another dentist in Vegas looking to make money. Both my insurance companies were billed after doing unnecessary X-rays that were not needed. The claims were both denied because I already had X-rays done somewhere else. I was only coming for treatment which I specified when scheduling my appointment. They did all of these unnecessary x-rays that I did not need and they insisted on charging me $100 for a laser cleaning and a mandatory $50 which they insisted would be credited back to me. This place should be shut down immediately by the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners. I tried calling back today to request my $50 credit and the number is disconnected. read more

I've been going here for 3 years and I feel very comfortable and welcome every time. Dr phong is great , the dental assistants are also great and the receptionists . Honestly everyone is very nice and welcoming at 5 star dental. I also had to get a root canal today with Dr Adeseye and let me tell you he was great, he was very patient with me since I'm always a nerve wreck. Like a previous reviewers post, they only care about the money. This is unfortunately your typical "get as much money as I can" dental place. The employees are nice, so you just want to agree and do everything they suggest. Don't! Once they found out we had great insurance and an extra money account just for medical/dental, they fully took advantage of us. They charged us $1,000 each just for teeth whitening, and it's a take home kit I could have bought at the store ‍ the treatment they did in house, barely worked, and my teeth were not that bad. They charged us when we went in for cleanings, and never said what it was for because we are covered for 2 cleaning a year. And the amount was always different....65, 80, 90. I asked, and she said "you need to use that money anyway so it's ok" , like what!? So I waited for the itemized bill and what she charged me $90 for, and the invoice just had a charge of 90, and nothing saying for what. No longer going to this place, you will get taken advantage of, don't let that smile fool you. read more

It's just like the other reviews said, this place is a scam and is just trying to get your money. They gave me a total bill for everything that I needed done that was over $30,000. I have like 5 teeth that need crowns fixed and some cavities. My teeth are far from perfect, but look at the pictures I attached, does it look like I need $30,000 worth of dental work? I told the lady that for that much money you could have all of your teeth replaced like in a Hollywood makeover. It was ridiculous. Then they try to rush you into booking an appointment the next day because they want you to pay upfront and sign a form that says if you don't cancel within 3 days, 50% of your money is non-refundable! As I go through the list of procedures on paper, there was a $5000 charge for Invisaline that I never asked for! They even go into all these unnecessary what-if scenarios trying to scare you into getting the work done or you could lose all your teeth when you're older. Not to mention the fact that they won't do any work until you've had the $1000 deep cleaning! It's a complete scam! read more

Wow what a great dentist!!! They where so amazing and accommodating to my crazy schedule! They did my xrays super fast and even fit me in to fix my braces/retainer! I have been going to 5 star dental for a couple of years and they have been absolutely wonderful. They have taken care of my dental problems and I feel like a new person. My teeth were in horrible shape and now I can actually eat on both sides of my mouth. I would highly recommend this dentist for their great work, their employees and their overall care and management. On top of that their location is only 5 minutes from where I live. Their office is in tip top order with communication with me and up to date procedures that I need. It is rare today to be able to give high praises to anyone or a business! Just "WOW"! We are new patients, me and my son! Live here for 6 years and after sevaral dissapointments with other practices, I finally found a gem - Dr.Phong! Appointment scheduling was very easy. No wait time when we came. Very modern office and equipment. Dr.Phong and his assistant made my 6year old so comfy and his exam went so well. I was next. Assistant made x-rays, local and 360°(not sure how it is called) and then took time to explain how to interpret results. Pro-camera pictures of teeth were made as well. Then Dr.Phong went through all explanations and we came up with a treatment plan! Receptionist made all calculations and medical billing verifications and presented the cost of agreed treatment plan, including all options! Thank you so much! I've been a patient of Dr. Phong for over 3 years. He is knowledgeable, ethical and very kind. I fully trust him and his office. I first went to him after a very unpleasant experience with a crown. My previous dentist was adamant that she did a good job, but I needed a Root Canal ( which she wanted to perform). I sought Dr. Phong's opinion and was begging him to change my crown, fully aware that I had to pay 100% out of my pocket. I was in pain. Dr. Phong didn't think that I needed a Root Canal even remotely, and refused to make a new crown. He adjusted the crown and instructed me how to floss around it, as to avoid agitating the not so good job of my previous dentist. Ever since I know he has my best interest in mind. Dr. Phong always welcomes my inputs and listens to my concerns. I've never left his Practice without being fully informed about my conditions and options. He is a gentle and intelligent dentist. I consider him to be among the best in his profession. I know that he teaches specialized courses in UCLA. I highly recommend Dr. Phong and his Practice! read more

They treat me like gold their. I always feel like they are wanting to help me or make me more comfortable and I am not super scared of the dentist, just a lil anxiety sometimes. When I get shots I barely feel anything and if he knows it's a sensitive spot he will be sensitive and help you through it. I might pay a lil more but you get what you pay for. I wouldn't go anywhere else!... The whole staff cares about you as a person too. They remember to ask how your trip was that you took. When a company sends you a text confirmation at 3 o'clock and then cancels you at 4:30 it is rather annoying. My appointment was for the next day at 2 o'clock so I don't deserve a 24 hour notice but they require one! And of course they canceled me so late so there is no where else I can get a hold of to get an appointment for hopefully tomorrow. I am very frustrated and I understand things happen but I think this was extremely ridiculous! Plus the girl was very condescending on the phone which I don't need when they are in the wrong. So glad I switched them to my provider just to have to switch this again. Very very annoying!!!! Went here because it's close to my house, of course I have Medicaid & they cover nothing but the exam & x rays. The dentist & DA made me feel ashamed of my teeth & "schooled" and belittled me while going over my films. Made me feel so bad about my smile. While going over everything he did NOT mention any infection nor pointed it out. They then sent me to sit with his wife who goes over the billing & schedule. They quoted me 8k for 4 crowns & a deep laser cleaning. & then gave me a Rx for an antibiotic. Told me to apply for a credit card so I can get treatment with them. I knew something wasn't right, so I filled me Rx & scheduled a second opinion at another office with the same x rays. I DONT need 4 crowns. I DONT have an infection. & they quoted me 2k!! With that being said THIS place is out for your money. If it doesn't sound right get a second opinion!!! It could save your teeth & your pockets! Trying to find a new dentist because of my move and this is the weirdest appointment I've ever had. After the X-Rays the assistant TAUGHT me how to read cavities. The the Dr. comes in has me stand up and wants me GUESS what is wrong with my teeth from the X-Rays. He was nice but I think it is a way for them to show the patients they are not lying about what procedures need to be worked on. It added up to over $2,000. Also I do not believe this because 2 months prior, I had an appointment with my MILITARY Dentist and nothing was wrong! It was just really odd. read more
