We had an appointment for a group of nine before a destination wedding. They called the day before and wanted us to switch our day and time which, of course we couldn't do with so many out-of-towners. When we got to the salon, they did not have enough people and everything was very rushed. During my pedicure, they spent 10 minutes soaking and cleaning my feet and then I waited 30 minutes for them to put on the polish. Two of the flower girls that only had polish put on their fingers and toes were charged $40 each! We questioned that price and they dropped it to 35. They pretty much make up the prices and value of the service as they go and none of the end results were satisfactoryfor any of us. They should probably change their name from five star nails to one star nails. read more

If you are up for being treated poorly, berated, and publicly embarrassed, this is the place for you. I have never experienced such rudeness before and talking back-and-forth in Vietnamese about the situation only serves to make it worse. The nail tech was a complete jerk, overeacted and raised her voice and defending Everything she had done so far when I asked her to trim a nail shorter. Then the manager got involved and said loudly to everyone in the establishment that if I wanted the nail cut shorter, I need to go to a doctor. These people are nuts and they have no Concept of customer service at all. I will never return to this establishment. But if you enjoy being told that what you're asking for is completely stupid and ridiculous, Then this is the place for you. We are from out of town and came here for relaxing after a week of camping. The women were ok they did not wait for the polish to dry before doing the next coat. They also put my sandals before they started painting my nails and got nail polish on my shoes. The man hurt me 2 times with the nail drill. And overall the nails look rushed and messy read more

She was sick to her stomach with anxiety so I called to try and work something out with the owner and he was SO incredibly rude and argumentative cutting me off on the phone and kept repeating "no refund" and had the audacity to say she would have to pay more simply to get them fixed or taken off as of she didnt already lose $290. He even claimed that my mom said she loved them after she was done which is not true. I would never recommend this place. Who in their right mind would even go back to SPEND MORE when they have attitudes like that and gaslight you? read more

Don't bother spending money here. I got a fill on my acrylics and wasn't expecting to pay full price ($55) for a fill, I wouldn't have gotten the pink and white in the first place. When they filled my nails they didn't push back my cuticles so it already looks a week grown out. I also got a pedicure, 3 people worked on my feet back and forth, one foot the cuticle remover wasn't even applied, the girl that painted my nails didn't put base coat on all my toes and left polish all over my skin. I've done a better job doing my own feet. No callous remover and the two tools they did use she put back into the autoclave bag and another girl used them on another customer without cleaning them. Really , a mani and pedi in 20 min . I am speechless , it was really bad ... No foot massage , because they don't want the lotion on your toenails . Then after the polish is applied they rub your calves ... they don't clean under your nails at all , my manicure was water in a bowl( no soap or anything ) , trim a few nails , ( mine were already short ) file and she was done , no cuticle lotion nothing . I have been here 6 times and have had 2 good experiences, 3 just ok. This time was just disappointing. I got a mani/ Pedi. the mani was an acrylic gel fill. After my nails were polished no lotion after she cleaned them with acetone... Painful. I asked for a basic pedicure and was asked if I wanted my callouses removed and was told I would have to pay extra for this...HUH? no cleaning under the nail, no cleaning my toe calluses, no callous removal. really fast pedicure; I will say the leg massage was good. When I went to pay, it was $100, normally $80, I asked why so much this time and was told that they had to repair one of my nails. I said no, nothing like that was done; I was then told it was because they filed my nails in a round shape? I have very short nails, and this is the shape they chose. won't be back. read more

I got a pedicure. They didn't even file my nails or clean under my nails or remove my dry cuticles. All they did was remove my callouses put lotion on and paint my nails. The water they had me put my feet in caused burning and rashing. This is an awful place to go for nails. My daughter got acrylic nails he did a great job shaping them but within an hour for nail paint was bubbling. We had to go somewhere the next day and have it all redone. Visiting from Texas, I needed my nails done because I didn't have time before leaving. I went to get the dip and a guy did my nails. I felt very rushed, he was somewhat rude and kept jerking my hand as if to say let me have control, which I get, but don't be rude. So the weirdest thing is he put me under the ultra violet light at the end which is exactly why I do the dip - to avoid that!! Well, they only lasted a couple of days before the tips started cracking. Then I went to have removed 2 weeks later (in my hometown in Texas) and it took an hour to get off. They finally figured out it was because of UV light. Why would you do that? They told me because it's cheaper to use those materials and some spas will do that. I'd only had one pedicure before visiting 5 Star Nails, so I really had no idea what to expect. What a great experience it was! Leah was wonderful and her mom gave me the most amazing foot massage. The following week, I went back for an acrylic set of nails. John is so good at this! It's really amazing as I have worked in beauty shops and watched manicures, and applications. They have recently moved locations (only a few doors down) to a beautiful space! The service has always been impeccable despite the change of location. It's a very family-oriented salon and they always do a fine job with my manicure and pedicure. This is a very affordable location as well! Update: it hasn't quite been a week and my shellac polish is already chipping :( I still recommend the pedicure but I would forgo spending the extra $$ on gel polish. read more

This is now called 5 Star Nails. They did a great job on my tiger eyes shellac/gel, as well as my daughters! But just a week later, it started peeling by my cuticles I live on the other side of town so I did it return to get it fixed. The shop is extremely organized, clean and they are very nice & friendly. This is a cute little place located on the corner of 8th and Cimarron. They do take walk-ins, but would like you to have an appointment so you don't have to wait. The owner and his wife are quite a cute couple. They are very friendly, do good work, and speak english to you! And, this place is CLEAN! They don't use razors, and they open a new package of insturments for each person!! I only had half an hour for a pedi. Li did a really great job with my nails, but skimped a little on my heels. It usually takes a lot of callus remover and a cheese grater to get my heels smoothe again Today she just used a little pumice stone. Now, she did take a few extra minutes to give a fabulous massage. Personally I would have rather had the heel treatment, but she was so sweet, and the massage was THAT good, that I'm ok with what I got. The prices are extremely reasonable, and they give you a bottle of water during your service. I will definitely go back to this place! read more

My deluxe pedicure lasted only 30 minutes, pretty short compared to other nail salons in town. When I walked in I was asked to add my name to a sign-in sheet. While the windows and business cards say walk-ins are welcomed, it looked like most of the people on the list had made an appointment. Luckily, the place was totally empty when I walked in and just one other customer came in for services during my hurried pedicure. The nail tech was the owner and she was friendly and talkative, handing me a bottle of water and asking my name. I noticed she didn't used a top coat requiring UV light. Instead she sat me under fans for about 5 before asking if I was ready to pay. The amount of scrubbing and "advanced" dead skin removal she performed really didn't feel that different from a regular pedicure at any salon in town. I regret spending the extra $15 for the deluxe treatment, and unless you really really have to have your toes squishing in bags of hot paraffin wax, I suggest you stick with a standard pedicure. The problem with these types of salons is that they are no-nonsense and all business, and you sort of leave feeling like cattle pushed through their mill then out the door. It isn't exactly the feeling you want when shelling out $50 for 1/2 hour of services. UPDATE: One hour after walking out of the salon in flip flops and the color has already won off four of my ten toes. :-/ I won't be back. read more

I wanted to treat myself to a manicure for my birthday, and VIP Nails is very close to where I work and live. They were able to get me in that day, after I called to make an appointment. The salon is small, bright and very clean. There are bottles of hand sanitizer everywhere, and instruments come in sterilized packages. The owners are very, very nice and are always checking to make sure you're happy with everything. They seem to do most of their business in those god-awful fake nails: HIDEOUS! I was in town for a few weeks from LA/NYC and desperately needed a pedicure on the fast and affordable. That morning I drove around to FOUR separate salons in the area and at each one was turned away because they did not accept walk-ins or wouldn't answer the phone. I called VIPNails and LeAnn answered, told me to come on in and at last after driving around - I finally was able to sit and relax. LeAnn remembered my name from the phone, and was friendly and welcoming, giving me a bottle of water without even asking. I didn't have much time to stay, but she was fast yet provided a full half hour service, even massaging my legs longer than I am used to in NYC/LA. She was gentle, and removed my terrible in-growns without a peep from me. Great salon for a quick, high quality on the go pedicure. And only $25! read more
