I'm not sure why so many negative reviews, but I still came to give it a try as it was close to home. I made an appointment, & I was seated as soon as I walked in. (Due to Covid, they are doing their temp checks as well as having guests sign a paper. They also have proper social distancing with the chairs!) I got a Deluxe pedicure which is $40, I loved it. The lady was great and took her time and listened to me as far as what I wanted. Linda did my acrylic set and same thing , she was great and gentle! Did everything I wanted. I've been coming to this salon for a while, and I usually see Henry for my nails. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was extremely disappointing. While I was there, Henry began yelling at another nail tech loudly (in a non-English language) in front of customers, including myself. It was very unprofessional and made the environment extremely uncomfortable. Henry has also been aggressive while doing my nails in the past, causing me pain, which is why I now choose not to go with him and prefer to see any other tech instead. After this last encounter, I will not be returning to this salon. I would not recommend this place, and I'll be taking my business to another salon moving forward. read more

Just went yesterday 12/15/23. 1st and LAST TIME going to this place. The nail tech was on her phone the whole time and on FaceTime! She was not paying attention to my nails at all. She was using a napkin with glitter on it to wipe her brush on after placing the acrylic on my nail. I let her know that now my nails had glitter, which was not what I asked for. She then took the glitter off with a nail clipper so you can imagine how the nail looked when she tried to add acrylic to the dents. I told her there was acrylic missing on some parts of my nail and she "fixed it". There were also some weird pink spots. This was supposed to be a nude natural color. At this point I took it as a loss. I let her finish. Oh and also... the towel she was using on the table was full of other customers nail clippings. Clearly not new or clean. The shape was horrible. All nails were shaped differently and when asked to fix them she got annoyed and started talking crap with the other nail techs, in their language. I asked for an almond shape and this is what I got. They don't listen to what you want. And They don't even know how to take off acrylic or gel nails. They literally pry them off your nail bed not caring how painful it is instead of soaking them or filing them down with the little machine. They charge you extra for everything. Whatever I think I want to go back to the nail salon that's only two blocks from my house they never disappoint. I haven't been here for a really long time because of how rude they are. I went back with a neighbor a month ago and had a great experience so I went back today and guess whatThey are rude again!! They do not freaking communicate! Zero stars they are rude, and the products are old(expired) I was only going there because they are near my home to begin with.. allegedly the owner is on vacation for the last month and they have a brand new team working. I got a powder, Phil with a gel overlay for extra protection. by the next morning, the polish was peeling off like Barbie paint. I went back, and she insisted on doing the same color, but by the next day again, the polish was peeling badly. This time my phone back and spoke with the new manager and she told me that it was something that I was doing. because I am working from home running a wedding and event planning service and not scrubbing toilets, floors or doing dishes. It's nothing that I'm doing and I made that very clear. She told me that I am a human, so I was doing something. I've been going back-and-forth to this shop since the day that Linda opened. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE would be an understatement!!!! Because of an emergency I decided to give this place another try. I mistakenly thought they would improve after so many bad reviews, but I guess they aren't reading nor do they really care or value what the customers are saying!!! Anyway, I was getting a simple pedicure and my senior citizen dad, who is 83 years old, has Parkinson's, and walks with a cane was getting his toe and hand nails cut. They had just finished service with my dad and I had to sit under the dryer for 10 min. to dry my toe nails. My dad was sitting on the chair and was waiting for the oil on his legs to dry. The person who did my pedicure had just moved me to the dryer station. The moment that I sat down the owner came and very rudely told me I had to move my dad now. I asked him now? And he very rudely said yes. I was taken back, so I moved him. In the transition of putting his socks, his shoes on, and assisting him out of the chair and getting his cane, my toe nails messed up!!! I sat him down next to me at the drying station and went back to get my nails re polished. I look over to where my dad was sitting and no one was sitting at that chair. Two other women were sat next to his chair and were "waiting for service" because there weren't any employees to take care of them!!! So they were just sitting there waiting for their pedi. So basically this man/owner/whatever, with no customer service skills, asked a paying senior citizen customer who was still waiting for the oil to dry, asked him to get out of his chair!!! And for what?...to sit two people who weren't even being taken care of!!! I was livid the moment I saw that!!! WTF! I couldn't sit for my nails to dry because I couldn't believe the way they treated a senior citizen customer!!! SMH. I told the man he was extremely rude and gave horrible treatment to a paying customer. The man had the audacity to say he didn't know he was a paying customer and offered no apology....really?!?!?!!! He didn't have his socks on and was waiting for the oil on his legs and feet to dry!!! Come on man!!! Stop acting stupid after you realize you've done a mistake!!! Accept and apologize!! So, with this terrible experience I DO NOT, DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! They are horrible people treating senior citizens very bad!!!! The first time I went here I got a gel manicure and Tina did a great job. So I went back late October and got the same service but my nail tech was a different lady and i did not like my nails! She didn't even ask me to wash my hands after filing my nails, so the finished product was not clean at all. so I thought I should try them again, but this time I got a full set gel manicure and he filed my thumb until he filed a gash into it and I was bleeding. He got powder all over my fingers. he shaped them as if he was a 5 five year old child. his overall technique and quality was a F-! I immediately left and went to another nail salon and had my nails redone, and they too were amazed at what a terrible job JL nail salon had done. I will not be going back!!!! read more

I've been here twice. Mixed feelings about it.. The first time I went in for a no chip. It was not good. The nail prep was fine but the application was not neat. AND the gentleman did not apply a top coat. He just didn't. It was a Saturday and I was in a rush to leave so I didn't even ask him to apply. I just left and called it a day. So mediocre. I went a second time. Mani / pedi on a Sunday. The wait was 45 minutes which was excessive but I waited. The owner did my no chip. It was fine. Another woman did my pedi. She was my fave! Wouldn't recommend a no chip because doesn't last. Got mine done on a Thursday by Monday my nails started chipping. I was in the nail shop for about an 1:15 for pedi and no chip. I called on Tuesday to let them know they told me to go in and get it fixed. This place is so nice from the inside but I would not go back for a manicure. I requested gel and twice was told that they do it then when it came time the tech pulled out a tub of powder with a label reading "gel". I've been told before that gel is gel and will not ever be powder. I should have said something at the time but didn't and I clearly paid $10 extra for acrylic - not gel. Oh well. The pedicure was good and I might go back for that. I was tempted to go back the next day to complain about the fake gel and try to get my money back but the slim likelihood that I'd be successful isn't worth the hassle. I was excited because it looked nice from the inside.. BUT OMG WHAT A HORRIBLE UNPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE I HAD! I literally just left shaking! The older woman in her 30s was my nail tech(see pic below) she seemed nice at first, but when she started asking me what I would like done to my nails like the length shape etc, she became hostile and rude. I told her the length that I wanted she proceeded to cut shorter. I was trying to explain the shape and she Yelled at me and told me that she will shape it later on. Honestly I have never been treated so disrespectfully by a nail tech( yeah I've had bad experiences in the past of course, but never to the level of disrespect/ hostility by this nail tech) It seems like since the beginning I told her I didn't want gel or no chip she got an attitude. As she's doing my nails, I went on Yelp and started to look at the reviews and I was shocked! This place just opened a few months ago, I can't believe they think they can treat people/ do poor job and have no professionalism and their business will do well. So when she was done shaping the nails I asked her if she wanted me to pay before she started polishing and she told me No because I was doing gel polish which I told her I wasn't.. after she finished when I went to go pay at this point obviously I wasn't going to leave a tip so I paid her the $25 that she requested. When she went to finish polishing my nails she told me to DRY them in the fan. Which I don't like to do because honestly it puts air bubbles in my nails.. They have a brand new establishment with table to dry afterwards right behind me.... I guess she was trying to rush me out.. I was uncomfortable literally the whole time! It was very weird with the hostility that she had with her holding my hands and doing my nails and kind of jerking me around.. I felt very uncomfortable... it's upsetting that you go somewhere to pay your own money and they treat you like that! When I was drying my nails i went to move my hand for a second and she yelled at me not to "move my hands that she's not fixing it if I messed it up and make it look ugly"! I was literally in shock and at this point I was like no I'm not taking this anymore and I told her stop treating me like that. The wait time was longer than expected probably 2 1/2 hours but I waited as it was my birthday weekend. Overall, my experience was good. The shop is newly updated and clean. I got a deluxe pedicure and gel no chip. Not sure of the lady name who helped me but she was very pleasant. This was my first time at here as my normal shop was over crowded. I was greeted when I entered and signed in. There were 3 other client's waiting when I came and every technician was busy. While waiting there was an issue that arose with a client and what I presume to be the owners wife but the owner jumped up and diffused the situation rather quickly. The wife was very quick to react to the client and didn't hold back her tongue until husband approached. I guess he's reading these reviews and wants to change. Hmm. My only complaint outside of the long wait time would be TV channels. I know, but the whole time I was there I was watching golf or sports I assume that's what the owner wanted to watch while he sat at the front desk. It'd be best to put the TV on a channel that your customers could enjoy while waiting. Owner, you watch sports on an iPad or something - . I'll be back and I hope my experience will be just as good if not better. I went to get a pedicure. I had to wait over an hour. Even though I signed in with the time I arrived they still let people go before me. Not a big deal. My issue is that after I paid and tipped for my pedicure and left, one of the employees ran out after and accused me of leaving without paying. I was so embarrassed. The other customers in the shop are looking at this exchange through the window thinking I am some kind of thief. I showed him the receipt showing I paid. Even after that he claimed I got my eyebrows waxed and didn't pay. I am a month past due with getting my eyebrows done. Any one with half a brain can see that they hadn't touched my eyebrows. I've been to this salon a few times and it is very hit or miss. I've done pedicures as well as gel and dip manicures. All to varying degrees of meeting my expectations. My last visit was on June 25 and sadly I will not be returning. The service needs an overhaul. I picked out a gel nail color and matching for toes. The color on my toes was the right shade. When the man doing my nails started painting them, it was clear they were a different color. My toes are a light white/pink. The color he started on my nails was a bubble gum pink. When I pointed it out and asked to match the color, he huffed and told me it's the same color. He pointed at the numbers on the bottles. He didn't offer to find a better match and complained that's the color I picked. My sense is he didn't want to have to start over on the nails he painted. First and LAST time! Stopped in for a manicure for the first time today. I asked if they take walk ins, owner said "yes, pick a color". The person doing my nails didn't even look me in the face and say "hello"! She proceeded to push my cuticles back very rough to the point it hurt and I told her to be more gentle. I also had to point out all the hang nails she missed. I let her know that she should apply another coat of polish so it wouldn't leave streaks. I went home and applied another top coat myself because she had barely put any on my nails. As I was leaving no one said bye, or come again, or thank you. No thank you, I won't be back anytime soon.
