my mother and I had an appointment for pedicure. we were put in chairs and water filled foot spa. mine was ice cold. he then took water out with a bucket to then add hot water. we wait 40 min in chairs before service started. while working on my calluses he went too deep and took off skin and drew blood. never said a word. continued pedicure. the instruments used were not sterilized. entire salon was filthy. will never return and will share my experience with friends. read more

I say 4 overall. Waiting isn't fun, but I did get the basic pedicure and he did a decent job and clearly took his time -- so no real complaints in the actual pedicure. It's not worth the travel from FOCO, but if you're shopping in Loveland, it's right across the freeway, just make an appointment or get there at an earlier time during the week. I can't speak for the weekends. Pro to waiting: I got a good hour out of the massage chairs, which are great. So waiting 15-20 mins soaking my feet wasn't a total bust! read more

Updated to my earlier post. Not sure if I should keep giving them my business or not. Yesterday I got a very slow man who didn't speak English. I asked for square, I didn't get it. I asked for only 1/2 my length to be cut off, I have short short short nails now. He was careful at first when taking off the old gel with the dremmel tool, but got faster and a little more heavy handed. He also seemed a bit OCD as he filed the hell out of each nail. I wish someone could have listened to me and then told him instead of just letting him go on his own. I think the operators change do much all the time that I don't see the same people there each month. Not sure why that is. read more

The guy that did my nails had such a bad attitude. Rushed my nails with design and had pissed that I got a basic pedicure. Left all my nails with acrylic under my nail. Left a bubble on one of my nails because he was rushing and they didn't give me a coupon or something since he messed up my nails. The guy had a lady sit next to me as if there was a line to get your nails done. Didn't wear a mask. It was honestly an awful experience. They also messed up my friends nails. Seinfeld's 23rd episode of its 6th season first ran on May 16, 1995. It was called "The Understudy", and I think it was supposed to solidify Bette Midler's place in pop culture (Midler, playing herself, got hurt in a charity softball game, Jerry was dating her ultra-emotional understudy....blah, blah, blah) - but this episode has to be remembered as NBC's greatest episode naming fail of all time. The only thing we remember related to Bette Midler is Kramer's "Macaroni Midler" at the end. Sorry, Bette. What we DO remember about this episode is the sub-plot, where George's dad (Frank) was recruited by Elaine to come with her to a Korean nail salon where she suspected that the nail techs were talking about her (in Korean) right in front of her. You see, Frank spoke Korean....and - yes - they were SO talking about Elaine in Korean. It also taught us a thing or two about "stopping short"! I leave my man card on my band saw at home to join the G ladies for a visit to 5 Star Nails about once every 3 months. I don't speak a lick of whatever they speak at 5 Star Nails - but I've come to enjoy the cheese grader thing that they use to scrape off my rough spots - and I have Google Translate turned on from the moment we walk in the door. I've caught only a few rando discussions with my stealthy Google moves - and they almost always disappoint (i.e., "dogs don't put curtains under the bridge if the grass is blue like deep water"), but I enjoy going Frank Costanza on them while they shred my heel cheese...and it's fun to see how not-smart Google is now and then. The wait time is usually minimal, and the overall experience is pretty consistent. For the guys, I'd recommend the Basic. It runs $28 and gets you - yes, the basics. An upgrade to The Citrus is about as fancy as I go without donning a fake beard and $5 Kardashian-like sunglasses from the Kum and Go. The Citrus includes some additional work in scraping off a few layers of debris and leaving you with very fancy and moisturized legs (from the knees down). Wear shorts unless your pants roll up to your knees - and you don't mind looking a little extra silly and ill-prepared in front of the mostly female patron crowd. The ladies in my house like this place - which gives 5-Star a 4-Star starting point. The salon offers waterfall windows (which need to be cleaned) and a curved trench in the ceiling that loosely mimics The Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace in Vegas. The chairs provide a button-operated "massage", but some of the seats are pretty worn out. They advertise reservations for special events such as parties and weddings, and they provide WiFi while you pamper. Overall, I'm giving them 3 stars. I'll consider 4 stars when they clean the waterfall glass and upgrade the torn chairs. See you in 3 months, 5 Stars! read more

The nails were very messy and did not match the reference photo at all. The paint was see through and none of the acrylic shapes matched each other. The nails were are incredibly bumpy and have many rough ridged edges that are painful. The natural nail is long and uneven underneath the acrylic. The service made me feel very uncomfortable and rude when I tried to make adjustments to the nails. Very dissappointed in the results and it was not worth the expensive price. This was my second time here and I will not be going back. The gentleman who did my pedicure did a decent job, kind of messy but I could live with it. The gentleman who did my acrylics was horrible to me! I understand there is a language barrier but he straight up did not listen to my wishes for my nails and rushed through the entire experience. Then he SLAPPED my hand out of the gel curing lamp when I didn't hear him telling me to take my hand out. I was absolutely appalled and wanted to burst into tears. I felt so disrespected. I could not wait to leave, such was the discomfort I felt due to the high-school ish behavior of some of the males. We cannot understand their native tongue, in which they were speaking, but felt sure their comments and accompanying actions, such as giggling and eye rolling, were aimed at us. They were having a grand time talking to each other but couldn't afford us a single word beyond one syllable commands given with severe frowns. I really hated every minute I was there but gave two stars because the work performed was pretty good. I would surely avoid this establishment unless you want to feel like an outcast. I've visited this salon 3 or 4 times and, not sure why, but every time, the dip manicure I get here lasts less than a week before it starts chipping. I'm not sure if it's technique or the product they use. (Dip manicures should last 3 weeks instead of 1.) I got a luxury pedicure and will not be going anywhere other than here in the future! The salon is so welcoming and smells clean. They have tons of polish choices and started my appointment a few minutes early. The technician was fantastic! She paid close attention to all the details and didn't rush a single step, even when they got busy. Her massage was so relaxing and she worked out several knots which was unexpected. I took my daughters here for a bday celebration and we were all very disappointed after spending over $200. We will not be going back. 2 of us had pedicures. I upgraded to the 5-Star pedi and the massage was very very light, after I informed the tech that I had ingrown toenails in 2 toes (which is why I went in in the first place) she simply ignored that and did nothing for them. The services seemed very rushed so they could get in their next customers because of social distancing. Two of my daughters had the dip nails and also a very unprofessional job. You can see the powder sprinkled on their French nails. The nail salon could be doing much better safety procedures as well. The service menu were all plastic and who knows how many people had touched them. The nail color samples could be laid out on a table for viewing rather than just handing us the books which we then had to open and touch. There were partitions between client and tech which was appreciated, but they could be doing much more. read more

I chose the $60 pedicure. The massage lasted 6-7 minutes at the most. I always upgrade to gel and saw them thin out the gel prior to painting. Definitely a no in my book. I mentioned that I needed something between my toes since he was about to start without anything because they would touch when I lifted my foot. The manager (I assume that's who she is) came over and translated what I said to the guy doing my pedicure. She said we know what we're doing and walked away after telling him something. Not sure why the google reviews are so high. Don't waste your money here. I can't imagine what the 45 pedicure is like. They saw my post on google reviews and offered a refund, however you must drive there to get it and I let them they could call me and we could do it over the phone since I'm 45 minutes away. I wish I could give them 1 star. I spent $40 for them to burn my foot with paraffin wax that was way too hot and the guy never tested it on my skin before just putting my foot straight in it. Ended up walking out with no polish and still had to pay $40 for it and then had to turn around and pay another place for shellac polish. I will never return here. read more

We were immediately escorted to pedicure stations and our service began immediately. They took great care of us. The waterfalls separating the pedicures from the manicures was a very nice touch. A couple of years back, I went to 5 stars for a mani-pedi. It was late in the afternoon and I guess everyone wanted to go home. I would have been glad to come another day. Anyway, they were in a huge hurry and had two people working on me. One did the pedicure and the other one did my nails (gel polish). She was super rough and ended up damaging my nail bed. For the rest of my life, I'll have a split nail on my middle finger. It cannot be healed or repaired, so I have to keep that nail cut all the way down. If I don't, it gets dry and splits part way down my nail which ugly and painful. They were also rough with pedicures. The cuticles don't have to be cut off all the way around. A gentle push is enough for someone who regularly does foot grooming. Several times, I had sore feet the day after. That's not really necessary. This was my favorite nail salon but they harmed me and I haven't been back. read more

Update: Iwas able to go back in today and talk to the a few people working here about my nail job from this past weekend. I appreciated their listening and willingness to redo my nails immediately. The people here this morning were great. They figured out which tech did my nails this past weekend and I believe they were already working to retrain her. I believe the problem to start was her lack of experience. Mary was the tech who redid my nails and I love them. I would highly recommend her. I am sure there are others here that are also very good. To the owner: the staff you had this morning 10/3/19 really cared about the service they were providing and that others had provided in the past. I hope you are able to see that also. They want people to have a good experience and if they don't, they want to know about it because they want to fix that. Not every business out there has this. read more

My wife had a manicure and pedicure yesterday and she came home with a bleeding cuticle! Even more concerning was when she said the manicurist (Lisa) didn't stop to attend to what she had done. She let it bleed and wiped the blood with a towel. Sounds very unclean and not hygienic nor safe protocol! The tool was placed back with no cleaning! She also said Lisa only used one coat of paint, it was rushed and couldn't speak English. Overall, a bad experience! Won't be back! read more

He takes so much time to make sure every nail is equal in length and thickness, always checks to make sure nothing is hurting, and is very meticulous about the polish. The first gel manicure was great. I went in 2 weeks later for a color change and the gel wasn't cured right so the whole thing wrinkled and peeled after 30 mins. Went to get it fixed and had to convince them all my nails weren't cured correctly. After they re did my nails I still had 2 nails wrinkled after an hour. Not sure what's going on but it is very frustrating going back every other day to get this fixed! read more

They must have done another manicure before mine. dust, dipping powder, or whatever was all over. The towel they used on me looked like it was used as well. The guy used extremely dirty files and drill bits. He used a very rough drill bit to remove my gel polish a couple of times hit my real nail. He was very rough and something was off with him. He also had the sniffles. I should have stopped. But I did not want to make a scene. I will never go back. My friend and I now both have COVID. While waiting for technicians we had to wait with feet in cold water For some time. When it was our turn Technicians were rushed with timers to be sure at cut service as quick as possible. Highly disappointed. They have remodeled post-Covid and it looks nice. The new shelves where the polish is displayed is bad. The polish bottles are stacked 2-3 deep so it's very hard to look at all the colors. My tech was very rough and he was way more concerned with his phone call and looking around the shop. He may have been a manager but not good when you pay zero attention to your client. There is a sign on the door that masks are required but there were several people getting pedicures without masks. There was ZERO social distancing and people waiting wet in a small crowd at the front of the shop. Finally, they treat you like you're intruding. To start they don't respond to online requests Google offers to make for you so if you want an appointment make sure you call. Not a big deal... however, the guy that did my nails spent over an hour filing off the prior dip powder I had on... an hour!!!! So needless to say he took off the top layer of my nails and they are so thin and fragile now my nails started to break off within 24 hours (despite lasting 4 to 6 weeks from another place, it's what I get for trying somewhere new). He made my nail cuticles bleed too. Then for pressure during hand or foot massage... it was barely any pressure at all, what massage? When he didn't know how to do something he did ask for help and they do pay close attention to details but they need better training. I also left with paint all over my fingers because they didn't take the brush with acetone to remove excess when my gel Manicure was done. They also didn't file or touch the edges when done either so I had excess pieces I had to file off myself (while still sitting there and no one bothered to help). I imagine there is a few good techs there.. mine was terrible. My friend had dip done and they turned out great but they didn't do a full Manicure like she asked and it didn't matter what we had requested for the appointment, they don't look. I went with my sisters to get mani/pedi's for my nephews wedding. The mother of the groom asked for ombré. The guy painted her nails white. When she said it was not what she wanted and that she needed her nails to look nice for her sons wedding he told her to "calm down". He repainted her nails pink but they were clumpy and not all shaped the same. She left extremely upset and needs to get her nails redone. My nails came out ok but the way my sisters nails looked and the way she was spoken to ensured that we will never go back or recommend them. read more

Many things went wrong in the 2 hours we were here. First, getting a pedicure and I'm allergic to lavender, he then proceeded to almost put the lotion on me anyways but thankfully the lady next to him stopped him. He got angry and put OIL on my legs instead of lotion. Then during the massage he pulled me legs so hard I was jerked forward almost off the chair. Then he over files my toes so now I have Moana feet. Then when I was getting my nails done they filed the dip off, then put foils on me and left me for 40 minutes to go do someone else's nails. When I finally got a lady to my nails she did ok but the lady next to me started saying she didn't have much time left and was asking how much longer she had to wait. They proceeded to pressure her to stay after she said she had to leave. Once she left the two guys who checked her out started fighting and yelling. They went to the back and threw something on the floor then proceeded to go outside and throw some punches at each other. The lady doing my nails had to go break up their fight. One of them came back in with a swollen eye and continued doing someone's nails. I used to go here all the time but not anymore. I'm sooo disappointed. I got acrylics done two weeks ago and while I was out of town this last weekend they started to peel and fall off. By the time I got back into town on Monday I had three nails left. I called as soon as I got back into town and made an apt for Tuesday and they said that they could re do them for me. I come in and they didn't get me for 15 minutes. I rexplain my story and he tells me that he can't do that. I tell him that I called and talked to a lady that said they could help me out. He asks me to prove they were only two weeks old and I can, (which I totally get, I'm sure people try to pull the "I just had them on and they popped off" shit all the time... but I proved mine) and he still tells me he can't do it. He says he is the owner and nobody communicated to him. I say okay and I tell him then I just need them taken off cause I can't be walking around any longer like a lame Dino with only three long nails. HE PROCEEDS TO TAKE THE SCRAPING TOOL TO PEEL THEM OFF!! I tell him that's going to hurt and he pulls the acytone out and take them off properly. Never have I had an experience like this at a nail salon. They couldn't even make it right. Acrylic should not be falling off within two weeks. read more
