Such a great spot! Huge outdoor area with plenty of seating and a really relaxed, welcoming vibe. It's super pet-friendly and perfect if you want to hang out for a while without feeling rushed. There's lots of space to spread out, and the tree-covered setting makes it feel peaceful and shaded. They have a brewery and winery on site, plus a bakery with sourdough pizza, burgers, and baked goods everything we tried was great. There are also swings and open space for kids to play, and live music adds to the atmosphere. Perfect place to come with friends, family, or dogs and just enjoy the day. read more

We did try a beer, wine (Ostatu Rosado), and coffee (maple latte). All were delicious. Service: The service was great! All of our questions were answered and even got some great recommendations on coffee to try. We sat outside and it started getting chilly so we asked for a fire to get started in one of their pits. They were so nice and quick about it. Ambiance: Loved it! They had live music playing for a while. As the evening came, the lights hanging from the trees were lit and it looked so beautiful. This is one of my favorite breweries and I only wish it was closer to my house. The grounds are nice with outdoor seating and a place for the kids to play. Inside has seating both on the ground floor and a little second floor area. I really appreciate the wine bar that was recently added. They often have a specialty guest food truck during the weekend and food is available inside as well. Service is very friendly and fast. read more

So, they have wine, coffee, beer and a kitchen. Plenty of parking, plenty of seating indoor and a lot of room outdoors. Still too hot for a fire pit, but it's nice in the shade. Wasn't too busy at 1-2 pm, but come around 3-4 more people came. Lots of kids running around, but they do have an outdoor section for adults only. Kitchen was open, I think. I got a pretzel, with beer cheese, but the cheese got cold. I had the Shepard boy IPA, very drinkable. The warrior Shepard, another IPA also drinkable. I ended with the OX, and English ale. Very good and light and also very drinkable. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be back. read more

Tough day at work (actually tough week) and need a beer to unwind. Stoped by 5 Stones because it's near my house and I've been there before. They sell really good craft beer. I'm partial to the German beers, so I had a 16 oz Kolsch. I also got a pretzel. Both hit the spot. Nice location out in the country between Garden Ridge and New Braunfels. Checked this place out on a quick trip down to Gruene for the weekend. Great location, too bad it was windy and cold would very much be more enjoyable in the spring or summer when you could take advantage of their outdoor space. I love love love local businesses and 5 stones really hits all of the spots on my check list. They have a restaurant inside that produces excellent food. They have a coffee shop in the back that makes great coffee. They have ample outdoor and indoor space. And finally their beer above average. I didn't want to remove a star since I think that everyone should give them a chance, but they are incredible slow. Staff were untrained and confused. Lines were long. And finally, they lack organization. I mean they have a good thing going and all the food and drinks are really some of the best in the area. I hope the staff read this review and work on time management and organization. And I understand that some of the people behind the counter look like they are still in high school and I understand that it's a multi-family business so I am hoping that they improve over time. Overall, I'm a fan. once they fix a couple issues, they will be a new braunfels staple! read more

So what do you do if you are off the beaten tracks outside of SA.. roaming around from New Berlin to New Braunfels and looking for a bit more action .. Yelp actually points me me that there is an actual brewery in middle of nowhere, just drive through some windy roads to get there. Well that seems like a fun adventure on a Saturday afternoon. Little did I know that this little brewery would be located in the middle of a preserve. This is where hiking trails meets beers. No masks need rules just some friendly owners ready to talk beer and God's country. Well let me back up a bit as the hiking part is not quite is not quite available aw of 2021. But the owners of this wonderful property own all of the acres of this incredible property so maybe this may become the next latest and greatest thing since yoga and beer drinking came to be.. I loved everything about this place. It was spread out so you could find a spot without being disturbed. They had picnic tables to hang out under the trees, even rocking chairs for grandma. Totally open to all age groups from the kiddos to oldies but goodies. Normally I'd not want what could be described as chaos in a normal brewery setting but with the beauty and spaciousness everyone seems to get along and make it work. Kids and AA/NA 'rs are drinking the hibiscus tea while the majority are enjoying a freshly brewed beer. Beers are a nice mix here. They have nice light options for the Texas heat like a 4.8% Pilsner kolsch Hefeweizen and orange juice infused pale. Then they get more serious going to a stout w/marshmallow graham crackers and coco nibs and get all the way to a 9% imperial stout with blackstrap molasses that comes regular or bourbon barrel aged. Those only come in a 6 oz pour which was appreciative considering we all do need to sometime and head back to civilization... I loved all of the beers especially the Pilsner as it was so refreshing in a hot day. But even the darker beers were super smooth. I also loved how they gave you taste tests before committing. They even gave a bit of entertainment going on with a guitar player on the outdoor patio. Kids were dancing and adults hanging out with their pets. Yep i didn't see anyone not having a fun time, especially when most people have been deprived so to say over the past year, cough cough:D This was a great find for us venturers, and I wholeheartedly recommend you bring your friends and family to this wonderful scenic treasure. This is our go-to place for the manmosa and the shepherd boy or warrior. Sometimes I ask to mix the two and they are quite tasty together, but that's just me. Very laid back and friendly atmosphere with a good amount of outdoor space. There are fire pits with chairs to just relax by and on most nights we've gone there's been some sort of live music. It is a little off the beaten path and we have driven right past it multiple times. We hope there would be some sort of sign put up soon, because we've met friends out there and some have been frustrated because they were unable to find it. I was disappointed that they didn't have all sizes in stock of their merchandise, and they didn't have any to-do cans for sale either. Feels quintessentially central Texan. LOVE IT. It was made all the more enjoyable by the live music being played the night of my visit. This place would be worth going to if the beer wasn't very good....but that is FAR from the case. The beers are fantastic with a wide range of both familiar and eclectic styles. You can get 5oz pours of anything, enabling you to try quite a few without getting too tipsy. The customer service was friendly as can be. I will 100% be back next time I am in the area. FYI--the address on yelp is wrong. I contacted Yelp to fix it but they still havent done it. The CORRECT address for this brewery is 11335 FM 1863, New Braunfels, Tx. 78132. We were staying in San Antonio but on our way back from Austin we decided to visit 5 Stones. The brewery is not open everyday (only open Wed-Sat) so thankfully we visited on a day they were open. The place looked really new. Everything was nice and shiny and clean. The brewery does not have any food but sometimes they will have food trucks here or an event with food. There are a couple of tables here to sit and enjoy your drink. I believe they also have outdoor seating which would be great for summers but too cold for the winters. They have a nice amount of beer options and they taste pretty good too. If you want to take some home you can buy a six pack. They also sell t-shirts and hats if you are interested in buying apparel. I think eventually they will have glassware with their logo on it for sale. The owners here are friendly. We chatted with the owner and his son-in-law for a little bit to learn how they got started in the business. I found out the 5 stones name comes from the story of David and Goliath. David had picked up 5 stones to beat Goliath but of course only needed one to defeat him. Awesome thought behind the name of this place!!! read more
