for Twine Bulverde! It has quickly become our go to spot. I'll break down why below! Food: everything is made from scratch by their chef. Our favorites are the wings (they are the best wings I've had), fries with dill ranch, the orzo pasta salad, fig and prosciutto flatbread and their caviar tater tots! I love how they have options for everyone and how everything is so fresh!! Atmosphere: may be my favorite part and here's why. Inside is adults only, so perfect for date night or a night out with friends. The decor is stunning and everything is soooo thoughtfully curated. Even their bathrooms are cute! lol Then you walk outside and everything transforms into the perfect family friends atmosphere with turf, a playground, and even a little playhouse for the kids to explore. The recently fenced in their playground which I love! They have comfy seating and cozy string lights. It's literally the perfect combo or aesthetic and family friendly! They also do live music on weekends and just recently did a Bubbles & Glow Sticks event for the kids. They also have a covered cigar lounge patio with a huge tv and couches. Now onto their drinks: AMAZING! I was able to speak with their two head bartenders and you can just hear the passion. They're always adding and testing new cocktails, and they have a great wine selection. My favorite cocktail is the Cucumber Twinetini! Service has been incredible. Everyone from their waitstaff to the bartenders to the owners are so friendly and passionate. You can tell the owners take great care of them and really care. This spot is located in downtown Bulverde and is a 12 minute drive from our house near Stone Oak. It's a small business owned by the sweetest husband and wife who have plans to expand into more restaurants and entertainment. This review genuinely pains me to write because I love the atmosphere of this place and have been here before with great experiences especially when sitting outside. That's why this visit was so disappointing. We booked a private room for our group and paid a $50 room fee, fully expecting attentive service given the prices and the automatic 20% gratuity for a large party. Unfortunately the service fell far short of that expectation. From the beginning our server was noticeably unfriendly, and communication throughout the night was poor. Drinks took a long time to arrive and when food finally started coming out, it was extremely staggered. Two guests waited so long for their flatbreads that everyone else had already finished eating. Fries that were ordered early came out very late and cold after we had already tried to cancel them. Another uncomfortable moment came when the bill was being prepared. Instead of discreetly reviewing the check or confirming items professionally, the server went around the table asking individuals, "Were you the one with three drinks?" and "Did you have two drinks?" This felt invasive and unprofessional. In a proper serving environment especially with a large group billing should be handled discreetly, not by calling people out in front of the table. When we asked if the delayed items could be comped (at the very least the fries), the response felt dismissive and oddly transactional including repeatedly questioning whether the guest would take the fries home. At that point the issue wasn't the fries, it was the lack of accountability and basic customer service. When the owner/manager came out, instead of apologizing or acknowledging the experience we were met with excuses about staffing and being short-handed. While delays can happen, the lack of communication and the defensive tone made us feel like an inconvenience rather than paying customers. The atmosphere is lovely and the prices are high, but service and management matter just as much especially when hosting large groups. A simple apology, better communication, and more professional service would have gone a long way. read more

My girlfriend and I happened upon this cute place while visiting a nearby restaurant. The atmosphere is "upscale chill" (is that even a thing?) the service is phenomenal and the food is delicious. There was a live musician performing who had a voice like an angel; making this a perfect spot for brunch because we could enjoy her music while still hearing each other in conversation. I had super high hopes for an amazing experience but honestly if I could give an overall rate it would be a 3.5 *. The wings and service bring it to a solid 4, but I'll explain. The ambiance is gorgeous, super ideal for a date night, girls night, or dinner with friends. They even have a gorgeous closed off room for private parties. The decor is impeccable, and I love how they make it family friendly outdoors, and adult dining indoors. That is the most genius idea ever! The decor is simple, elegant, yet pops with personality. The service was excellent, our server was super attentive, and the manager gave us a tour and the history of the building as we were leaving and even showed us all of the outdoor amenities, the humidor, and where we could sit to hear the live music. As for the food . . . here is where the disappointment set in. The gluten-free chicken wings were OTHER LEVEL, excellent, top notch! The garlic parmesan sauce (we ordered it on the side) was like nothing I've ever had, it was fresh, homemade, and absolute perfection along side those crispy, juicy, golden wings. 10/10! The hummus lacked uumff, just not very much flavor, the cucumbers had some really ugly edges, the carrots were a bit dehydrated (a quick soak in water could've revived them) and the pita could have been a bit more toasted. 5/10 The orzo pasta salad was very light and refreshing, a pinch on the salty side, but that is t be expected with kalamata olives and feta cheese. We requested it without the salami because pork makes my husband very sick. When they brought it out I separated my portion, but on the side I left my husband we found a little bit of salami. I just switched plates with him and took that side, but more caution should be placed when preparing a customized dish. I liked it very much, I think shrimp would be a great option for the protein since salami is also salty. A solid 7/10. We also ordered the Pesto and Turkey sandwich on sourdough panini. It wasn't quite the "panini" style we expected, it seemed more like toasted bread. The turkey was dry and I was desperately looking for the brie cheese that I could vaguely taste but not see. Come to find out it was a brie spread not actual brie cheese. That definitely disappointed. The sandwich was overall dry. 5/10 The fries (sub for chips for an upcharge) were also top tier amazing, we loved the fries. 9/10 We love the wings and fries so much, we called in a to go order just a few days later. We are not against going back to maybe have a drink and some wings, even sit outside and enjoy a cigar, but I'm a bit reluctant to try anything else on the menu. The decor is lovely. The food is very over priced for just average food. Our sever was wonderful but she had somany tables to wait felt bad for her. They are definitely under staffed. Will not return spent $130 on flatbreads wings and $10 for a basket of cold fries. read more

Genuinely one of the wildest restaurant experiences of my life... just to clarify this is not the waiters fault he did good. Our reservation was 6:30pm, we got there and there were maybe 2-3 tables of people. We were told about the menu as chef specials being offered that night. Wife's parent arrive and we order drinks, they don't have tea, they were out of Capitan Morgan, they were out of Jack Daniel's... then is was time to order food we asked for one of the items on the chefs special... they ran out... this was 6:45pm on a Saturday... they ran out... dinner is over I order a Twine chocolate cake to go. They gave it to me in a brown paper bag so I didn't look at it until I get home. The freaking cake was packed in a plastic sandwich bag and saran wrap... needless to say this was our second time there the first time the food was barely alright. The ambience is amazing, however does not match the food, cocktails or staff. The staff were friendly, but not attentive-didn't refill our water until the end of our meal when we requested. The food was timely, however, we ordered the special, which was a 14 oz steak that was so fatty that 1/2 could not be consumed, and lacked flavor. Our guests had the meatballs, which would be more appropriate as an appetizer and not a meal, and same for the sliders which had very little meat and no condiments. Surprising that the fries with the sliders came with an extra charge as well as the side of ranch, that was not disclosed when ordered. The food was more suitable if this was a bar setting verses an elegant dining experience. The menu was more representative of a bar experience. Unfortunately, the cocktails fell flat as well. Our adult children took my husband and I here to celebrate our April birthdays. At first, I was a little taken aback at their policy that we could only be seated with grandchildren outdoors. It had been raining for days and that day, the weather was iffy. But it cleared enough for our time there, the outdoor table area was pleasant, and there was a play area nearby where we adults could have a conversation while keeping an eye on the kids. The service was exceptional. We ordered several dishes to share. I especially enjoyed the hummus. My husband had meatballs and they were so popular at the table that we had to order more. The desserts were well prepared and the drinks were wonderful. There was an outdoor restroom for guests, but I peeked inside the restaurant and was that it was beautiful. Have been there twice before, both on Wednesday evenings, and couldn't say enough good things about this place. However, that changed on Saturday night. Place wasn't busy so don't know if they tried to turn over our table quickly before the Saturday night rush (if there is one), but my husband and I ordered starters (and I specifically said Starter) and the specials (which I specifically said Main Course) along with a cocktail each. To our waitress, that meant we wanted our cold salads (an orzo dish and the arugula burrata) served along with our hot entrees (meatloaf and the mahi-mahi). These salads were $13 each. We were left with four plates on our table having to wolf down our starters so that our hot entrees would still be warm. As we'd ordered Starters and the Main Course specials before, we were confused as to why this time they came out together when in the past you were allowed to enjoy one dish before the next dish was served. When I asked the waitress why they came out together, she said she didn't know I wanted them separated. She was apologetic or perhaps condescending, it was hard to tell, when she assured me the next time I came in she would remember to separate my meals. Don't know if this was an untrained waitress or the strict time limit they enforce. They have on their website the time allotted based on your party size. We were two people out in 45 minutes, well below the time allowed us. It would have been nice to actually enjoy our $150+ meal. Needless to say, we won't be returning. For that price we can get a better and relaxing meal elsewhere. read more

We got to go to the soft opening tonight and it was a great experience. It was super busy but the quality didn't take a dip. We were there for a little over two hours and constantly heard everyone raving about their food. We sat at the bar due to some reservation confusion but it couldn't have worked out better. We got to talk to the bartender, Audrey, who was slammed but never cut any corners and kept everything clean. We tried a lot of their cocktails and they were some of the best I've had! The espresso martini is a must have and the Caribbean kiss is the perfect choice for a sweet drink. We ordered the buffalo wings and fries. Both were really good, the fries were hot and crispy, we will definitely order again. Next time we plan on trying the meatballs and Caprese salad. 12/19/2025 Update: Twine was busier on this visit, a bit chaotic with the food & service suffering. Our waitress appeared to be new as she didn't know the menu very well. It is a beautiful venue with easy ingress/egress with great parking! This time the hummus lacked flavor, needs seasoning, and the carrots were still dehydrated. It took much longer to get our food. The temperature of the margherita flatbread, burger sliders, & truffle fries was lukewarm at best - meh - like they were sitting waiting for the wings which were very good and served hot. I'm downgrading my rating to a blended rate of 3; 4 the first visit and 2 the second visit. I hope this visit isn't indicative of the future. We will go back at some point to give them another try and support local small business. Twine, we are rooting for your success!! 11/22/2025 I've been waiting to experience all that is Twine since I first heard it was coming to Bulverde. The first impression as we entered the driveway and into the parking lot started us off on an excellent time. The parking is ample and the spaces large enough there is no reason for door bumping into the side of your vehicle. Walking through the front door it was light and open with beautiful appointments from lighting fixtures to flooring and walls. The staff were all friendly and very good service. Our wine and cocktails were excellent. The parmesan fries were very good and the hummus was good except the carrots were dehydrated (white coating). While the owner thanked us for coming in, she was robotic in her delivery and didn't seem genuine, but that was a brief encounter. To end the evening finding a credit card surcharge on the bill put a damper on the overall experience. It wasn't a large charge, but I didn't see any advanced disclosure. read more

Super cute place. We were excited to try it. We gave a 3 Star, because the wait staff is extremely unpolished and untrained in proper hospitality. Our server was not very knowledgeable or excited about the menu. My Orzo salad tasted like yesterday's leftovers pulled out of a fridge and popped on a plate. We sat for 15 minutes at the table after our plates were taken away and empty glasses in front of us. When the waitress did finally address us, she was on the phone at the same time. The restaurant closes at 6:00 (Sunday), at 5:30 the wait staff were all too busy shutting the restaurant down to attend to customers. Not exactly an invitation to want to return. However, we will give the restaurant another chance, as it has potential, and we've chalked the experience off as opening pains. We truly hope for its success. We'll try it again in another few months. I do hope the owners bring in professionals to train the staff properly. And, hope to want to give a 5 Star the next time around. I dined at Twine on Dec 4 for Happy Hour with a group of friends. The food was good, the ambiance was great, and our server Bill was fantastic. This restaurant places a two hour limit on reservations, which is clearly stated. Fair enough. We lost track of time as we enjoyed a couple bottles of wine. As the end of our time approached, the hostess, with obvious irritation, cleared every last thing off the table in an attempt to move us along. I found this rude and offensive. I suggest that if you are going to impose a time limit, there might be more courteous and less passive aggressive ways to remind guests when their time is running out. It was a classless move by a place that's trying very hard to be classy. It soured what would otherwise have been a lovely experience. read more
