If you're a fan of live music this is the bar for you! I came in for the first time to see a friend's band play and immediately dug the vibe of this place. It's just a really chill place for locals (you'll find NO tourists here)....almost hole in the wallish. I came in with my friends a little after 7 and the place was pretty empty but it didn't take long for it to fill-up as the evening progressed. By the time 11 pm rolled around it was a packed house in there. The bartenders were all awesome and super friendly and the drink specials are on point. Happy hour until 8pm on Saturdays? I'll take that! The band I came to see (Black Market Club) and their subsequent opening acts were awesome! The place is kinda small so it really makes the show feel more intimate. I'll definitely be back (live show or no) to spend a Saturday evening at 502 Club again.

Pretty good drinks! I enjoyed the wake up call! Had the energy of a coffee and the alcohol of an alcoholic drink lol

One of my go to bars. Always feel welcome by the bartenders and they know what I drink...BONUS! Live music nights are always fun, they have a great variety. Jim is the sexy bearded one.

502 was a great spot for karaoke and for upcoming bands in SA! We went late on Saturday night but were impressed with the stage and friendly bar staff. We spent about $20 on drinks, which wasn't so bad. Great spot near UTSA and to dance to live music! Can't wait to go back for karaoke night!

Love the live music! Maybe just a bit too loud! I had to scream to talk to others , or go outside. But the amount of draft beers was amazing! Bartenders were really nice and had fast service! Smaller inside but next to other bars to bar hop, but still ended up back at bar 502!

This was a watermelon sour beer on tap. Delicious!

Came to 502 in a Thursday night to watch the NBA playoff game. The inside is clean and chill, perfect little local spot. The rock music was a little loud but after a few drinks I didn't notice too much. They have a good selection of beers, mixed drinks and they always have like 4 or 5 beer/shot combos for 5 bucks. The bartenders are all cool and helpful, especially Jim. They have quite a few TVs around the bar and a couple projectors as well so you don't miss a thing. Fun events always going on like open mic, karaoke, and even video game tournaments! I always just check their website and calendar. Since they have a stage, they usually have bands that play on the weekend in which they have a cover charge to get in. This can be a deterrent at times if you're just looking to come in for a quick drink. 502 is definitely a fun and not so average neighborhood bar that I will always continue to come to!

First things first: IF YOU ARE A TOURING BAND, this is the only place you need to play in San Antonio. In love with this venue. Hands down, without a doubt, 100% best sound system and sound engineers in all of San Antonio (and most of Austin, for that matter). Deric, Alex and their team have done a fantastic job bringing touring indie acts to our city, something that many local music hubs have failed at for a long time. Small Black, Gardens & Villa, Hank & Cupcakes, Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, Wild Child, etc. have all turned average weeknights into aurally pleasing experiences. Great beer and shot specials (Pabst + Jameson shot = $5) and a well-maintained restroom mean five stars, even though it's north of the 410 bubble. Call an Uber, take a Lyft, make the trek. Your ears will thank you.

I agree that they have a great beer selection. They have two ginormous chalkboard things with their cocktail list, and beer specials. Noticed they had St. Arnold's on tap and asked the bartender which one they had. He had no clue. Come on Dudebro, how do you not know what you have on tap? I asked for a sample and It tasted sweet like the Elissa. He then gave my brother the beer list and sho nuff it was the Elissa. Anyway I saw that they had Shiner Wild Hare at the bottom of the cooler and I asked for that. Bartender: **deer in headlights** Uhh I don't think we have that right now. Me: Yes, Dudebro, it's right down there. I'm looking at it. The place was pretty clean and "classy" by San Antonio standards. It was also quite empty so I'm not sure what the makeup of the crowd might be like. Douchey? There was one old guy in the back staring at the giant screen probably thinking, "Damn, we just lost to TCU." Then someone put The Wobble on the jukebox and it was our cue to leave. Speaking of the jukebox, I WAS able to play my favorite Django Django song so that was cool. I might be back to catch a live show next time I'm in the 210.

So on the way, I texted and requested the password. After a brief search and knocking on several doors, I realized the entrance is behind the restaurant in its own small parking lot. Look for the green light and avoid searching around like a weirdo, like me lol. Once inside, I found the interior is cozy with seating for couples, small groups and bar seating. We asked the mixologist to put his own spin on old fashions and he delivered. I'm addicted to the spicy cinnamon version that he created! The quail pops were a nice little appetizer although they could have used a bit more seasoning. I think the drink and app prices were very reasonable. Service was laid back and friendly. My only reco would be to maybe put a bit more thought into the vintage decor and secret restroom. The restroom lock was hard to figure out, especially after a drink or two lol. Overall this Speakeasy is a great spot to add a bit of intrigue to your evening.

ELSEWHERE TOO -- LOOK FOR THE ZEBRA…read more First things first: you are on the frontage road of 1604 headed west, and you will see a zebra. You will also see some other large mammal--I believe we have a giraffe situation happening--and then you will probably miss the turn. There is a lot of native greenery around the entrance, so you can't miss it if you're looking for it, which I realize makes absolutely no sense. My friend missed it. I did not, and that is absolutely going in the review. If you have a hard time finding it, apparently putting Discount Tire into your GPS can help. I apparently have a hard time. Story of my life. Once you make the turn, though, you suddenly see this impressively large, completely lit-up Ferris wheel, and for a Tuesday night, I wouldn't have expected anything less. Welcome to Elsewhere Too. Elsewhere Too is the whimsical sister of Elsewhere downtown, which is already an amazing San Antonio spot. I love the downtown location with the swings, so when I discovered there was another Elsewhere on the Northside with a 52-foot Ferris wheel, I was obviously going. And honestly? It's like Alice in Wonderland. There is a greenhouse filled with natural light that can be rented for private parties. There are plants and lights and huge outdoor spaces, covered seating, fans and misters for our ridiculous San Antonio summers, and fire pits and heaters when Texas finally remembers winter exists. You can even roast marshmallows. Then there is the Ferris wheel. Ten dollars for adults. Six dollars for children. About a ten-minute ride. And then Maddie and Peyton handed me two golden tickets. Bro. I just got two golden tickets. I'm not supposed to be getting anything free as a reviewer, but alas, I wasn't going to turn down a Ferris wheel ticket. Then they informed me of something even more important: YOU CAN TAKE YOUR DRINK ON THE FERRIS WHEEL. Now we're talking. The service here was genuinely fantastic. Maddie and Peyton were fun, welcoming, helpful, and immediately made me feel like I had wandered into the right place on exactly the right Tuesday night. I originally asked for something sparkling with alcohol. We discussed a Dirty Shirley--which, if you somehow missed childhood, adulthood, and every wedding reception in between, is basically a Shirley Temple with vodka. You're signing me up. Oh! And I couldn't believe it. They market a very special drink. Payton number 2 ran the Ferris wheel. I got tickets and it was the best thing I could've done! I got to view our city from the top of a lit up carousel San Antonio is truly such a gem. "Do y'all still sell THC here?" They do. I started with a frozen drink with a quirky face in it! The drink selection here is different from a traditional bar because they don't sell hard liquor. Instead, they specialize in craft beer, wine, canned cocktails, THC beverages and fermented cocktails. There are also sodas and sparkling waters. Elsewhere Too is completely outdoors with tons of seating, and another HUGE win: BRING YOUR PUPPIES. They welcome animals as long as they're leashed. It is also family-friendly until 8 p.m. daily, and after 8 p.m., the venue becomes 16+. There is no entry fee, which makes this an incredibly easy place to decide on at the last minute. Smaller parties generally don't need reservations because most tables seat around ten people and seating is first come, first served. And apparently San Antonio agrees with me about this place because Elsewhere Too picked up recognition from the San Antonio Current for Best New Bar and Best Patio in 2026. Great decision, Jenn. Go fight win. Here's another thing I loved about tonight. I don't come to this side of town much anymore. I lived around this area for years, and life looks very different for me now. I am starting over after leaving a 27-year marriage, and there is something really beautiful about discovering that your own city still has places you've never seen. Places where you can sit outside on a Tuesday. Write. Color in little squares on your paper. Talk to strangers. Make new friends. Drink something frozen. And then get on a giant Ferris wheel because two bartenders just handed you golden tickets. Tuesday is a great day for writers. There's not much going down. And sometimes that is exactly what you need. That's one reason I encourage people to become Yelp reviewers. It gets you out into your own city. You find cool places, weird places, beautiful places and things you might have driven past a hundred times without ever noticing. Sometimes you just have to get out there. So let me have a good time--and come join us at a place called Elsewhere. Just remember: Look for the zebra. If you hit Anchor Bar, you've gone too far. Turn around.
